Tiki Moon Weddings

This was a great place to have a wedding. We wanted to find a place on the North Shore that had accommodations for about 15 people as well as an outdoor area for a reception with about 50 people. We planned to rent a place from VRBO but they had hidden rules. We are so glad we went with Tiki Moon Villas instead. Ray & Azlina are very nice, helpful, & respond quickly to emails. It was was helpful to have someone to ask questions to throughout the planning process, especially since we planned the wedding from the mainland. We never saw the property in person but the pictures, youtube videos, and description from Ray & Azlina made it very possible to plan from afar. The biggest negative is in order to have an event you’re required to rent a minimum of 5 villas for a minimum of 3 nights. That was okay, especially since we needed that much space to house our family & wedding party & it reserves the common areas for you. However, on top of that they make you pay a venue fee. We feel that you shouldn’t have to pay the venue fee in addition to renting 5 villas. This is especially true because you still need to rent tables, chairs, tent, lighting, etc. in order to have an event. Definitely be prepared by renting a tent. It rained all day up until about 30 minutes before our ceremony. They do let you stake the tent which is great because some places don't and this makes it a lot easier/cheaper. Be aware that you need to provide lighting because there isn’t any in the main reception area. Additionally, you aren’t allowed to move the arch to the beach so we had to build our own. Ray and Azlina let you send a few packages to them right before your event. Unfortunately, even though we weren’t sending anything else to them, they wouldn’t allow us to send a package of bamboo because it was long. The beach wasn’t very large even at low tide so we had to have everyone stand instead of sit on the beach and place the arch to the side instead of in front of the ocean so the pictures weren’t as good (villa in the background instead of the ocean) but we did see that from photos before booking. There is also unsightly concrete that juts out just to the right when you go down to the beach, which is unfortunate for pictures/scenery. There is an outdoor area which would’ve been great for cocktail hour if it hadn’t been raining. You can arrange the outdoor furniture however you’d like. There's only one outdoor bathroom but you can lock the door to the main area of one villa to use it’s bathroom for your event. You'll need a permit to get married on the beach & need event insurance. Azlina told us someone was having trouble getting a beach permit & we could cancel for free for 24 hrs if we couldn’t get one. From that moment we knew we had made the right choice in TMV, & we got the permit! Ray & Azlina give you a list of vendors which is very helpful & they live on the property which is great for any questions. The villas are well equipped w/ many items including kitchenware. We were able to use some for the wedding reception when the rental company didn’t deliver the correct serving spoons. Wish we’d known the full extent of what the villas had! It was amazing to wake up to the sound of the ocean. The scenery was beautiful. It was great to spend a weekend w/ family & friends w/ fun things to do. We had a BBQ using their outdoor area. We had the greatest wedding weekend & are so glad we chose it as our venue. We hope to go back for an anniversary.

Just had my daughters wedding here, and we are so thrilled we did. We rented all the villas for 4 nights, all are beautiful and comfortable. Azlina is great to work with, she'll give you a list of vendors, although we did find alot on The Knots website also. But if your looking for a fun place beautiful setting, and have it your own way, this is the place.

The property was absolutely perfect for our 15 guest wedding. All guests stayed at the villas with us. The landscaping was gorgeous with the exception of the 2 dozen chickens roaming around from next door and the 6+ stray cats roaming around trying to get into the houses. During the wedding they took in the cats and scattered the chickens so they did not intervene. They decorated the arch for us to get married under with an amazing ocean background. They have a great space with string lighting for the reception and a covered patio area for a rain plan. All vendors have to be approved by them, but this was not a problem. It was great that we got to bring our own alcohol rather than have to hire a bar tender. We saved a lot of money using Tiki Moon Villas all around. If you are a DIY family then this is the perfect spot. As this was a destination wedding we could mail some boxes to the villas rather than traveling with them. With our budget, we couldn't have asked for a better venue.

My husband and I both live in Honolulu, and were looking for a place to get married away from the Waikiki resorts and what often feels like "wedding by numbers." Because both of our families and much of the bridal party live on the mainland, we were also looking for a place for everyone to stay. Tiki Moon Villas was perfect. We stayed there for 4 nights (Wednesday-Sunday) and did the wedding on site on Saturday. Total, 19 people stayed in the bungalows (very comfortably-- we all had beds!) and 60 people attended the wedding. It was great to all be together, but also have our own space. The venue was beyond perfect for a wedding of our size and everything was beautiful. Ray and Azlina were also incredibly helpful and a true joy to be around. I could not have asked for more. Leading up to the wedding, they helped us figure out where things could go, and what we would need. They were always willing to help or answer questions, but they were never overbearing. I could tell that they just genuinely wanted our stay in the villas to be great and our wedding to be perfect. And it truly was. Tiki Moon Villas is a very special place. Aside from the location being gorgeous and the owners being awesome, the bungalows are immaculate, and they have everything you need to just enjoy a peaceful stay in Laie. My husband and I will definitely go back just to stay. Oh, and it is right across the street from PCC, which is awesome for visitors from the mainland. I could go on and on. I sincerely could not have been more pleased.
