Tim has done my pictures since 2016. He is really good at what he does, but I am very disappointed in the way things were handled yesterday. I messaged him June 22, 2022 to schedule maternity pictures. We got them scheduled for September 11, 2022 at 6:15pm to 6:30pm. I hadn't heard from him about a location, but wasn't too worried, as I have worked with him for 6 years now. I sent him a Facebook message at 4:00 pm to see about a location (He was active like 20 minutes before, and I made a comment to my husband about just missing him on fb). I never heard back. We live in Aurora, MO, so we have an hour drive to get to Joplin. We ended up leaving at 5:00pm even though we had not heard back. We made it to Joplin and waited until around 6:15pm. I noticed he was active on Facebook, and was trying to figure out how I could call him. I didn't have his phone number, but I was able to find it on google. He didn’t answer. I immediately sent him a message on Facebook and said., “Hey, I tried to call. We are in Joplin.” He immediately read my message, and responded that he had to go to the ER the day before after a wedding and just got home. I responded, “so we aren’t doing them?” He said, “Yeah we will have to reschedule. I’m sorry about that.” His health is important, and I am glad it was nothing too serious, but the way things were handled yesterday are just unacceptable as a business owner. I spent most of yesterday afternoon getting my hair and makeup done by a stylist, costing me $100. There should have been some type of communication made, especially since he had posted on his FB stories Saturday. I am 36 weeks pregnant and just paid $100 for hair and makeup, so rescheduling was not an option. Luckily, after scrambling and messaging every photographer I could think of we found someone to come take our pictures last night.
Tim also took our wedding pictures/video back in November. He missed several important moments in our wedding, such as the unity and family shots. I had to send him a message to get those, and he did have some of the family shots, but we shouldn’t have even had to ask. Unfortunately, we just got a picture of our backs during the unity part. We were supposed to have our video, but he was sick, and so it took him a few weeks longer to get it to us. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt because I understand you can't always capture everything. We have spent $7,000+ (Senior photoshoot, fall minis, 2 Christmas minis,
Engagement pictures, Wedding pictures and video) with him.
Again, I am very disappointed in the way things were handled. I hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else, but it looks like this isn't the first time this has happened. Please be aware, and make sure you are communicating with him the days prior to your shoot.
