Timber's Edge is a rustic wedding venue located in scenic Vinland Valley between Lawrence and Baldwin City, Kansas. This 20-acre property features a 1,500-square-foot barn, two fire pits, woodland trails, and a large grassy area for activities. Originally used as a storage space for farm equipment, the barn later became a beloved hangout spot for owners Beth and Alan and their friends. Their friends then encouraged them to turn this versatile space into an event venue, and it now hosts weddings, proposals, corporate events, reunions, parties, and more. Beth and Alan would love to welcome you to their countryside paradise to celebrate your milestone occasion. The party barn at Timber's Edge can accommodate up to 100 guests seated indoors, though larger groups can be facilitated outdoors or with use of one of our event tents. You may also opt for an indoor-outdoor celebration if you want the best of both worlds. The barn features a full sound and lighting equipment for a band or our in hourse dj, making it the perfect setting for a lively reception. ADA-compliant restrooms and changing areas are available on-site for you and your guests, as well as ample parking, a complete kitchen, and a beautiful bar. Outdoors, you and your guests can relax around the fire-pit, beneath a starry sky, or watch the sunset as you sip cocktails on the patio. What's more, the property offers countless stunning backdrops for wedding photos across its 20 acres. Conveniently located approximately 30 minutes or less from several towns and cities in Northeast Kansas including Lawrence, Topeka, Lenexa, Olathe, DeSoto, Baldwin City, Ottawa, Gardner, Edgerton, and Eudora. If you are looking for the perfect country escape and backdrop for your wedding, Timber's Edge is an ideal location for convenient access for your guests living in this region. Timber's Edge can provide a range of event essentials to make planning a breeze. These include tables, chairs, bar stools, patio furniture, yard games, outdoor heat lamps and arbor. Timber's Edge also offers, for an additional cost, golf cart rental, event tent rental, and house DJ services with built in sound/video/lighting. With many your event needs taken care of, you'll be able to simply relax and enjoy your special day.

Alan and Beth Michels
Owner
Beth had always dreamed of owning her own event space, having done event planning for 25 years and hosting parties for family and friends. As a musician, Alan was looking for a space to accommodate his band and sound system, without upsetting the neighbors. In 2019, they found the perfect 20-acre property nestled in a beautiful valley and knew it was the place they needed to create their event space. They have 5 kids and know how costly weddings can be. They wanted to share their scenic property with others, providing an opportunity for them to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Beth grew up in Pennsylvania, as a child, and in Montana for middle school through college. During those years, she found her love for music and performed in church choirs, school performance groups and then traveled in Up With People. She also participated in the Student Union at college where she got her start in event planning and development. From there, she took a position with the American Cancer Society and was a professional fundraiser and event coordinator. This position took her to Kansas where she continued in special event planning and started a family. Beth always dreamed about having some sort of event center, of her own, to host weddings and large parties. However, she never found the right place to do it. Beth married Alan in 2015. She soon realized that with their shared love for music and throwing big parties, it may be time to turn her vision of an event center into a reality. Finally, in 2018, she discovered the perfect property in Baldwin City that had an amazing view and a beautiful red barn. Fortunately for her, Alan also fell in love with the property and with a lot of determination and some construction skills, they got to work on building their dream together. It has been 4 years and a labor of love, with the help of friends and family, but it is finally happening.

We held our wedding at this venue. The view is absolutely breathtaking and there is plenty of beautiful places on the land to take photos. The bridal suite and groomsman suite we...

re both perfect. They were large enough to accommodate our group, convenient and fun. The barn where we held the reception was the perfect size for our group, includes a bar, DJ both, and large bathrooms that were easily accessible for our group. The owners were amazing! They were easy to contact, helpful, and very welcoming. We could not have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend this venue.

you have. They went above and beyond to help me and my husband have the wedding of our dreams. They helped decorate the day of and made sure that everything was how we wanted it. This venue also sits in a very beautiful area of baldwin city, there are multiple backgrounds to choose from for your ceremony whether you want a wide open view on a hill, lower ground point of open grass, to a wooded area where you can walk through trees as you aisle. It is beautiful all year around, but if you're like me and love fall weddings, you would love this venue. The accommodations for getting ready in the morning were great, and once again, the owners helped change anything they could to help accommodate our wedding party size. I just can't thank them enough on how much easier they made the day go. I added a couple of photos of what our day looked like!
