ay was 100% fantastic. The first disappointing thing was the cloud effect we were supposed to have during our first dance. We made sure with them a few days before our wedding that we still had this effect. We also confirmed with the DJ HOURS before the dance and at the venue that we would be doing this and he confirmed it. Low and behold there was no cloud effect which was really disappointing. The DJ also cut my husband's mother-son dance song short by about a minute without consulting us. We assume this was because it was a 4 minute song, but my husband was caught off guard and did not appreciate it. The dance floor was not as packed as would have liked, but this was not entirely because of the music as our venue had an outside patio and food truck that came later in the night. The DJ also asked us if we wanted to end things over an hour early since there was no one on the dance floor. Although we understand his thinking on this, we already paid him to be there for the entirety of it and did not think it was appropriate to ask us if he could leave. It is his job to make sure the dance floor keeps going, not ours. Overall, we thought they played good music and many people had a great time.

y list. When we spoke to them on the phone the week of our wedding they made me feel like they did not like our music choices. I said I just didn't want our wedding to have the same radio music as every other wedding, and they confirmed that it wouldn't. The DJs that worked our event were professional and very kind, not cheesy at all, but mainly played songs that you hear at every other wedding. Good overall, but a bit disappointing.

e the comments. I did look back at your request list and you gave us 37 total song requests. The instructions you gave us were to play 2 sets of Greek songs and to play them all in a row. Which of course we did. When I scanned through the rest of your list in advance of the wedding I noticed about 7 of the requests were highly alternative and maybe not as well known. I just asked your thoughts on if you thought the guests would dance to them. You then stated to me that we did not have to play ALL the alternative selections, so a note was written on our LEAD DJs file that he did not have to worry about playing all of them. If you had told me that you wanted ALL 37 requests played, it would have been NO PROBLEM at all and ALL would have been played, no questions. We will ALWAYS play exactly what a couple asks us for. It's your night and you are our #1 priority. All we want is our couples to be happy! It wasn't that I didn't like your alternative choices, I just simply needed to relay to our team so they could take the proper avenue with what to do when there are many requests and when there are songs maybe a little out of the ordinary which may possibly clear the dance floor. We hear the same wedding songs weekly and are not opposed at all to mixing in alternative selections that our couples may enjoy. It's actually refreshing! Also, our Lead DJ approached you approximately an hour before the night ended (which is TKO protocol and what we typically do when there are many requests) and he asked if there was any song you wanted that he had not played yet . You told him a song and he played it right away. I am sorry a few of your songs did not get played, but again, we were just going by what you had told us. and attended to every detail leading up to and at the actual reception. On our prep call, Ted listened carefully to our vision for the night (there were a couple different timeframes when we envisioned very specific songs/genres playing) but also provided recommendations to make sure the evening flowed seamlessly. At the actual reception, TKO was professional beyond measure - they kept us informed of the timeline and how things were moving throughout the night, but never “bugged” or monopolized our time at the wedding. One of the things I especially loved is that as we neared the last half hour they asked us what last few songs we still wanted played out of our “requested” list - I love that they allowed us to choose that and really make those songs reflective of us. One of our most important visions for the reception was to have a packed dance floor, and TKO helped us to host the party of a lifetime.

. It was just extremely stressful finding out some bad news so close to the wedding. They weren't very good about handling song requests. My MOH made a request and they didn't play it. Awhile later, she told me they didn't play the song so I went up and requested the song and me being the bride I assumed they would for sure play it and they didn't. It took my MOH telling them that I was upset that they still haven't played my song to finally play it. My wedding was a day to remember. Overall, they did a fantastic job.

rds to the bad news? The only item discussed which was a bit of an issue was the length of time alloted for your ceremony. Typically 1 hour is included in our ceremony packages. 30 minutes for prelude music while guests arrive and 30 minutes for the actual ceremony. You slated guests to arrive at 3.30p for the ceremony and your reception start time at 6p, leaving a 1.5 hour break in between.
When a ceremony and reception are held at the same venue, the reception will normally start immediately following the ceremony. So it caught us off guard when I found this out while finalizing your details.
There is usually a fee for extending our hours, but since it was so close to your wedding day and not wanting to add any stress to you and Corey, we decided to include the extra time at no charge. This was on top of already including the ceremony music and 2nd sound system for you at no chage as well.

As far as the music request from your Maid of Honor. One of our policies is to immediately play requests received from the couple, the parents, or the Bridal Party within the next 2 or 3 songs. After asking our crew who worked your wedding about this, they do not recall you or your MOH being upset by a song not being played. Maybe there was a delay in playing the song request, but they do not remember anyone coming up to them with any type of urgency or frustration. They also don't recall the MOH ever coming up and saying you were upset. Honestly, my guys were shocked to hear this as this very rarely occurs. They were never given any indication and its only 1 song, so they absolutely have no reason not to play it, which you stated they did play the song.
Sometimes a scenario occurs where we get mutiple song requests in a short amount of time and the person requesting one of the songs steps out of the room and doesn't hear their song. Or maybe we wrote down the request and it was on the list to be played. We would have played the song again for her if she missed it.
Our #1 priority is to make our couples happy and we will do anything and everything we can for them the night of the wedding to accomplish this. We feel it is our obligation as entertainers, but as customer service professionals to go above and beyond. Our DJ Service is top ranked because of the caring, dedicated people we have working here. That, combined with his excellent communication throughout, made me feel like I didn't need to worry too much during the planning stage. He had really good prep paperwork for us, with all the music options and slots for what we needed. Then, on the day of, they were perfect! that it seemed suspicious. I was recommended TKO by a friend of mine who recently got married and she told me that her guests couldn't stop raving about her DJ and they kept dancing all night long. I knew that if I wanted a quality night, I needed a DJ that could be the MC and could keep everything organized.
When I met with TKO I was taken away by their professionalism, their years of experience, as well as the actual quality of the equipment. They definitely didn't look like your high school boyfriend with a laptop on a fold-out table. Their sound systems were solid, took up the entire front of the stage, with clean sound that didn't echo throughout the entire room or resonate weirdly. They were even able to demonstrate the dance experience for me by turning their demo room into a club-like atmosphere and showing me what the music would sound like with the appropriate transitions, the fog, and the dance lights!

The day of my wedding was amazing. I had Bob, who took care of everything, lined up the wedding party, took control of the day's events ( which get so hectic) and put me at ease. He made sure we had a great flow of events, and was extremely professional and organized. He took all the requests and kept the guests dancing through midnight! (we started at 6 pm!!) He really had control of the crowd and he kept us all laughing! He was very outgoing, funny, and not cheesy at all! ( which is very important)

The bottom line is, you get what you pay for. If someone seems too cheap, or sketchy, then their service probably is. Choosing TKO to DJ my wedding was the best decision ever.

His brother, Bob, was the actual DJ for the wedding, and he did a great job.
