The stars I am giving are for Angela, who did our makeup and was incredibly efficient and talented.
Christa, told the hair stylist the wrong time, “human error”... as she phrased it, which can happen to anyone. Her human error caused an immeasurable amount of added stress on an already stressful day. Our hair stylist was an hour and a half late. That was a massive problem considering we had mostly outdoor photos and an early sunset.
She was supposed to arrive at 10am, she came after 11:30. Christa texted me to apologize, and tried calling me. Unfortunately, as the bride, I was a little preoccupied that day and was not glued to my phone. (More to come on this later.) Andrea informed us the stylist was coming as well as a second stylist who would join at 12:45-1pm. Our ceremony started at 4pm & we were doing all family/bridal party/couple photos before.
The second stylist, by the time she arrived (with her child who proceeded to lay on the floor in between the hair and makeup chairs,) did 1 bridesmaid & my grandmother, whose hair took all of 15 minutes. While I can appreciate the thought of sending another stylist, ultimately, in my opinion, it didn’t make up for the error in the first place.
After the wedding I emailed Christa asking for some money back since our entire day was thrown off and we unfortunately missed out on a lot of photos with our photographer. I was hoping she would offer to refund one or two hair services at the most.
Instead I received, in my own opinion, a condescending email blaming me for not answering my phone, (not sure what that would have accomplished anyway?) and stating she sent the second hair stylist to make up for it. She then signed her email with an unprofessional smiley face that came across as mocking. She never did answer my question as to a partial refund, so I sent two follow up emails. I have not received a response. I’ve patiently waited to leave a review because I had hoped to have this resolved. Alas, here we are. So I cannot recommend them for future services, unless you have an open timeline and don’t mind what I believe in my own opinion to be terrible customer service.
Since originally posting this review, back in December, I received 4 text messages from Christa, as well as 5 emails. She did in fact offer me a refund only if I deleted my reviews. When I declined the refund, since I would not delete my review, she, in my opinion, responded with a very long inappropriate and vindictive email. (Of which I do still have a copy.)
