My husband and I had our wedding at the Trapp Family Lodge in October, ceremony at the Concert Meadow, and reception in the Mozart room. Saunie and Caroline were incredibly helpful and very responsive during the planning process. The staff at the lodge also were very friendly and helpful. The food here is incredible, which made for delicious meals for our wedding. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the lodge was and the surrounding area. I would highly recommend the Trapp Lodge.
My husband and I are so incredibly grateful for the wonderful team at Trapp for coordinating our dream wedding. Not only is this venue stunning, but the coordinators, Caroline and Saunie, are truly phenomenal. They’re both incredibly hardworking, caring, kind and patient.
Every question was always quickly answered. Despite balancing other couples, they always made us feel like we were their main priority. The day before our wedding we had to come up with a contingency plan for rain. Saunie calmed us and created a perfect backup plan (that we used and it was just as beautiful as our original plan!)
All of the staff at Trapp Family Lodge were friendly and helpful. Throughout the entire wedding planning process we felt so cared for. We cannot thank this amazing venue enough for creating our perfect wedding day. We highly recommend the Trapp Family Lodge for anyone looking for a fairytale Vermont wedding.
We recently had our wedding at The Trapp Family Lodge and had the most incredible time celebrating with our loved ones. Saunie, Caroline, Daniel, and the whole team did an excellent job coordinating all of the details of our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. All of the staff at The Trapp Family Lodge were excellent, experienced, and friendly, which made for a relaxing evening that we were able to enjoy. This is arguably one of the most scenic venues on the east coast; the backdrop for our ceremony at the Concert Meadow was spectacular, and the tent setup for our cocktail hour and reception was beautiful, as well. The food was phenomenal. The portions were generous, and Saunie helped us customize the menu to accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions and food preferences. Attending the wedding menu tasting months before our wedding was a fun part of the planning process and helped us pick out the right appetizers and entrees. We also highly recommend opting for the Ben & Jerry's truck for dessert, as this was a big hit with our guests. We cannot recommend The Trapp Family Lodge highly enough for couples who are seeking a beautiful wedding venue with an experienced team. We researched many venues up and down the east coast and definitely feel that we made the right choice. Saunie and Caroline were on top of every detail throughout the process and were a pleasure to work with.
We just got married here this past weekend and it was incredibly beautiful. We loved that the catering, tables, tent, and ceremony location were all included. Saunie and Caroline were incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. We also used several vendors that were recommended by the Trapp Family Lodge, and all of them were fantastic. As our planning process progressed, we ended up changing our minds about where we wanted the reception (moved from the Mozart Room to the Wedding Meadow) and the guest count increased by 50%. This did not cause any problems, and the team at the Trapp Family Lodge was very helpful throughout the decision making process. Additionally, we used several indoor spaces (Library, Mozart Room) prior to the ceremony itself, and that was no problem either. Other than a couple of tiny issues during the planning process, we couldn't be happier with how the wedding turned out. Our friends all loved how beautiful the setting was, and they all seemed to have a great time.
I eloped here. The wedding coordinator Saunie was great and the area is beautiful.
However, when I asked Martin at the front desk to raise his mask over his nose he completely chewed me out and told me I didn't need to worry because he "had already had covid." What I thought would be a simple polite request turned into an argument. I was honestly shocked at this behavior. It was a horrible way to start my wedding weekend, and made me feel unsafe. I felt uncomfortable entering the lobby for the rest of the weekend and was forced to use the fire stairs.
I passed this along to the GM and got zero follow up. I was angry about it all weekend. It was so inappropriate based on both safety and customer service. I'm so over people who can't be bothered with the minor inconvenience of wearing a mask for others' safety. (Especially when it is for your job!) The interaction really ruined my weekend. I expected them to make it up to me somehow but never heard back.
Trapp lodge was the perfect venue for our destination wedding. The lodge was big enough so that all of our guests could easlity stay there. There were activities for all ages and interests (the spa, the pool, hikes, activities for the kids...). We invited everyone from the wedding to the rehearsal dinner and held it at the brewery. It was flawless as we didnt need to worry about transportation as everything was held on the property. The concert meadow was the perfect setting for our ceremony. The mountains and gorgeous blue sky in the background was simply perfect. The cocktail hour on the terrace, followed by our reception in the mozart room. They made everything so easy, and helped bring my wedding vision to life. I am looking forward to going back for our anniversary!
We celebrated our wedding at the Trapp Family Lodge in January. We had been coming to Trapps for many years, and we wanted to have our wedding somewhere where we felt comfortable and knew what to expect. The Trapps team outdid themselves from the reservations department, the desk staff, bellmen, servers, and kitchen staff. The real MVP of the Trapps team was their on-site wedding coordinator Saunie Sirch, a woman whose warmth is matched only by her own professionalism and poise. Saunie helped us plan the wedding remotely, and even though the venue hosts an exceptional number of weddings nearly all year 'round, Saunie always made us feel as though we had her undivided attention. As our pre-wedding nerves started to unravel, Saunie was there to steady us. She seamlessly coordinated the logistics with our vendors, and even gave our maid of honor a much needed pep talk before her speech. Even though we had been to Trapps many times, the lodge staff outdid themselves, and we were floored with the level of service and warm regard we received. When members of our wedding party got stuck in a ditch the night before the wedding, the kitchen and our server made sure they had drinks, and warm food upon eventual arrival, even when it meant keeping the kitchen open late. And the staff gamely braved our Bacholorette party to light a fire in the in-suite fire place, despite the late hour. We are so glad we chose Trapps for our wedding, we cannot speak highly enough of the experience we had, and we look forward to returning to Trapps many times relive the happy memories we created!
Trapp was absolutely the perfect venue for our ceremony and wedding. We had our ceremony outside on the stage and the wedding in the tent outside. It was absolutely stunning and gorgeous, and it felt intimate even in such a large space.
You'll notice reading the reviews on the Knot and other sites that they're a real mixed bag, which made us nervous. Let me tell you, their new coordinator Saunie is AMAZING. She made our day work perfectly and was with me every step of the way planning the wedding. She helped guide me through a whole host of decisions and I really felt like I was part of the family. Her warmth and hospitality was just incredible and echoed by the entire staff at Trapp who made me feel like royalty as soon as I walked in for our wedding weekend. They truly went above and beyond making sure our guests were taken care of. I couldn't recommend Trapp or Saunie enough for your wedding day - you will not regret such an incredible event space and team!
I absolutely LOVE Trapp and have been coming to spend two weeks each summer since I was a child. That being said I would NOT RECOMMEND Trapp as a wedding venue. I agree with "Tourist Trapp's" review from 2010. Many many issues including Jenna (the wedding planner) canceling on me a WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING and Trapp did NOT replace her. It was such a nightmare.
Our wedding was the most beautiful day of our lives. The Trapp helped make it so. Our rehersal dinner in the Salzburg room was followed by a bonfire on the patio behind the lodge, including drinks and smores. It was just the right finish to relax us before the big day. On the wedding day, it could not have been more perfect. The scenery was colorful, with majestic views everywhere around (we were married at the concert meadow, on the platform in the field). It was outdoors, wide open, but a dropped pin could have been heard in the back row, as the surrounding geography was so silent that our voices carried with no microphones needed. We rented the horse and carriage for our arrival and departure, which was just the right added touch to make it even more romantic. Our reception was held in the Mozart room, which was cozy for our 80 guests. If you have a lot of people that like to dance, the room may not be the way to go if you have more than 60, but it was just the right size for our older group. We had them make the cake, which was made and decorated like a birch log, and it was visually well done, but the flavor was ok. They offerred many options for the menu for every pallette, even vegetarian and gluten-free items, and they were accomodating to a few food allergies the people in our group had, making special plates for them that excluded the allergens. Everything that was prepared was delicious. The guest rooms were spacious, clean, and provided amazing views of the green mountains, while maintaining an intimate and inviting feel. The staff was there and helpful at every turn, and we can't say enough good things about our interactions with them.
There were naturally some problems as well. As a bride, it was a little frustrating trying to work with the wedding coordinator- the most helpful one left 5 months before our wedding, and the replacement seemed at times a bit disorganized, forgetting/losing what the cake flavors were a week before the wedding, not remembering certain key items specific to our ceremony, and not communicating well with the front desk, who was supposed to have reserved a block of 10 rooms that were pre-paid for by us, only to have the guests for those rooms charged when they made their reservations and had to be refunded when we found out- otherwise the rooms would have been billed twice. Beyond all of that, at the end of the day, it was still magic.
We used the Mozart room as our ceremony location. It is such a beautiful room! The staff was incredibly nice by showing guests how to get to the room. We had a beautiful fire in the fireplace and had beautiful flowers placed on the mantel. They were so helpful to make the day beautiful. Their establishment is so beautiful in itself, it was an easy decision to make to have them as our ceremony location.
I would never recommend this location for a wedding. Poor service, many many issues. This includes the wedding coordinator leaving just shortly before my wedding and being overcharged for items.
It is a beautiful site, but the site wasn't worth the headache.
I could not have been happier with my experience at the Trapp Family Lodge. Anybody with an affection for the Green Mountains will adore the views available from each wedding site (and guest room!) on property -- they're breathtaking year-round. Their staff is simply amazing. Everyone, from the housekeeping staff to the waitstaff to the bellmen to their astounding wedding coordinator (Kira Comstock) is friendly, courteous, helpful, and energetic.
Kira is, of course, the biggest reason to hold an event at the Trapp. She is able to organize every aspect of the event, from reserving a block of rooms for guests and booking your free honeymoon suite, to menu planning and wine selecting and scheduling the agenda for your big day. Many times, I would email her asking "where can I rent a ______?" And she would respond with, "I went ahead and got that for you, you're all set." On my wedding day, she was there for every step of the way, keeping me calm, cool, and excited to be there.
A wedding at the Trapp is guaranteed to be two things: FUN and DELICIOUS. They have a huge wedding tent for large groups, and several indoor places for smaller receptions. I chose the post-and-beam Mozart Room, which had plenty of space for all my friends to get down and boogie after dinner! And what a dinner we had -- everyone was delighted with their meals (try the squash biqsue and roasted pork entree), which were decadent but just the right portion for a bride in her lace-up corseted gown. And their cakes are delicious, with over one hundred potential combinations for flavors.
At first, the price tag might seem steep, at $109 per person (not including bar). But consider what it includes: the on-site ceremony, chair rentals, reception site, tables and dining chairs, table linens, dance floor, sound system (we DJed our own wedding so that was needed), appetizers at the cocktail reception, dinner and cake, the honeymoon suite, and Kira's incredible expertise.
Add in the fact that you can have family and friends from all over the country reserve a block of rooms (at 20% off) for their stay in a luxury resort and actually ENJOY your big day (instead of freaking out over every detail), and it's an obvious choice!
Do yourself a favor, and get married here. You will have your dream wedding.
