Tunes Across Texas provided us with the BEST DJ we have ever experienced at any wedding. DJ Sean was so kind and communicative before the wedding and delivered an exceptional service on our day. We even had guests coming up to us before and after the event complimenting our DJ!! He brought a great mix of dancing, slow songs and taking requests. He also was a natural MC and brought an exceptional flow to our whole evening! We loved DJ Sean!
The Dj Booth tablecloth was so wrinkled and did not look professional. It was center of our reception so everyone did see it. Ceremony music and sound was so bad. We had pre-ceremony music playing and so we thought the dj would have plenty of time to get it right in time for ceremony. It wasn’t. We had feedback and echo and horrible sound the whole ceremony. Our ceremony songs faded into each other and it didn’t sound good. The first few lyrics of my aisle song were not heard because you could still hear the song before still playing. It seemed like DJ did absolutely no homework or prep on our songs even after a thorough email and phone call on all of our songs. DJ also appeared lazy and sat the entire reception time and did not get the crowd going at all. He stood once to hand my dad a microphone for his speech and then laughed at my dad after his speech and made him feel uncomfortable. DJ also mentioned multiple times we were a “multi cultured” crowd. Very strange to comment on out loud in the mic. Upon booking, we got a complimentary “upgrade” to a master DJ. This means 10+ years experience but it just means an older DJ - it does NOT mean a better one. Our wedding was in July- it’s now November and we still mention it everyday how bad the music was at our wedding. Linda (possibly the owner?) is lovely and her communication was great. The DJ they sent us was not good. 2 stars because he did the bare minimum and at least played the songs we asked for.
DJ Jason was great for my wedding. He followed the song request; suggested the money dance (totally worth it); didn’t announce cake cutting or bridal party (like I requested); should have asked to shorten the songs and have them mixed a bit but overall it was a great time!
Had a phone call a few days before the wedding. This would have been appreciated but everything I said was ignored. DJ repeated songs a few times. Didn’t have us come in at the right time for our grand entrance. Completely missed one of the most important songs for a special dance I confirmed with him. Announced things at the wrong time. Announced cake cutting when i specifically told him not to. Many things that literally ruined my wedding. Tried to talk to them about this before writing this review. Was basically told “well I believe my employee over you” and of course he denies anything was wrong so he doesn’t get in trouble. Huge waste of money. Could have had better with an IPhone connected to a speaker.
We hired Tunes Across Texas for DJ services for our wedding reception and were blown away! Linda was so accommodating and easy to work with, and the online portal made mapping out our ceremony so simple. Jason was our DJ and we could not have asked for a better person to handle our reception. He kept us on schedule without making us feel rushed, and made sure we got to everything on our list before the night was over. We've gotten tons of compliments from our guests in the days following our wedding on how great the music was and how everything ran so smoothly. Thanks so much to both Linda and Jason for everything!
The online portal was super helpful and easy to navigate. We had a call with our DJ Mike a week before to solidify everything. Day of Mike helped keep us on track and was amazing at communicating with us. We were very happy and a lot of people told us it was the most people they have seen dance at a wedding in a long time! So glad we went with them!!!
Awesome DJ! we got DJ Mike and he was so funny and helpful. Really made the night special and fun!
We LOVED Tunes Across Texas! Linda was so responsive throughout our entire planning process, even when we had to reschedule our wedding twice. She was nothing but supportive and even threw in a few free upgrades - master DJ and free lights show!! Al, our DJ, called us a few days before our wedding to walk through our music list and we could immediately tell how experienced he was. The music went PERFECTLY during the entire wedding. We decided to end the evening early and not have a dance party due to COVID-19 but I'm sure AL would've turned the place up! You should go with Tunes Across Texas for your DJ needs!
They were great. DJ Al was super friendly, kept on schedule, and played great music ! No issues or concerns.
We hired Tunes Across Texas to entertain our small, impromptu wedding during COVID. DJ Sean was extremley communicative with us during the planning and made our event a lasting memory. DJ Sean knew how to read the room and also coordinated with friends and family members not present for speeches and video. We highly recommend Tunes Across Texas!!! A&A
Al was amazing!!! He did everything we wanted perfectly and was super sweet!
DJ Al did a wonderful job as the DJ and emcee for our wedding. We were looking for someone bilingual that could give announcements in Spanish and English and also play music that would keep our guests from Mexico and the U.S. equally entertained. DJ Al was able to strike a great balance between different genres of music. He made announcements in both languages in a way that was professional and to the point. The sound system also worked very well in the space - folks were able to dance and have fun and also sit down and have a conversation without feeling like they needed to speak loudly to be heard. The dance floor was full all night long. Leading up to the wedding, I really appreciate that DJ Al made himself available to speak with us and walk through the timeline hour by hour so that we were all on the same page. This showed that he is very detail-oriented and wants to be attentive to each couple’s preferences. From fading out the mother-son dance on time, cueing up the right remix of a Whitney Houston dance for a special dance with my bridesmaids, to making a special announcement for my aunt’s birthday, Al was on top of everything. The best indication of AJ’s talents was the dance floor was full the whole night - from 8:30-11:45 p.m. I would highly recommend DJ Al and especially for a bilingual Mexican-American wedding.
My fiancé and I have regretted hiring tunes across Texas from the beginning. If we hadn’t paid in full off the bat, we gladly would have lost a deposit to hire someone else. Linda is impossible to get in touch with. When I had questions, after hiring of course, it took 2 weeks to get ahold of her via calls and emails. When I finally did all she did was tell me about her daughters wedding, while not answering my questions. 2 weeks before the wedding I was trying to get ahold of her to confirm everything. It took a week to get in touch again, not stress any bride needs. We’d give more stars, because our actual DJ, Al, seemed great. Played all our requested music, kept the party going, we thought he was great...... until we were leaving the venue. Literally had all our guests in a line to throw the birdseed, riiiight before were about to do our big exit, he grabs my husband out of place, stopped our big exit, to ask us for a good review...... they’re a nightmare guys. I was on vacation the week before the wedding with my bridesmaids and asked Linda over and over again if they DJ could call me to go over the plan before the week before. Was told “he’s got other events and will get confused talking to more than one customer at at time” shocking how ALL our other vendors could accomplish juggling more than one wedding..... oh, and when he did call, it was after 10pm. Just a mess.
Al was a great DJ. Linda was easy to work with!
We were recommended to DJ Al by a friend who is a Master DJ at Tunes Across Texas. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint!! We were able to pick and choose whatever we wanted played and create a playlist through their website and what was missing DJ Al filled in - he had the dance floor poppin all night!!! They were great to work with and Linda responded promptly to any questions I had. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking!!
Linda, the owner, is wonderful to work with. Sean, our DJ, did an excellent job from start to finish! Thank you Linda and Sean!
The DJ was friendly but only about 20% of the songs I requested were played. Our first song skipped, the mic went out a few times when speaking. A little embarrassing.
The DJ went above and beyond what I expected. We had Al who was obviously very experienced and knew the best ceremony and dance music. I made a playlist with the type of music I liked and he added songs with similar taste. All the guests loved it and he would come talk to me when a guest requested a song and he didn't think I would like it.
Lisa was the best with booking. Timely responses, easy to talk to which made the whole experience a breeze.
WOW! DJ Al and Linda are fabulous! I was picky with some requests, and DJ Al came through! He made the night flow smoothly, was clear and easy to understand, kept the night going smoothly! Linda responded to emails quickly, and has GREAT customer service skills. Choose Tunes Across Texas!
Mike was AWESOME at our wedding April 9th 2017. He made everything so much less stressful when it came to the timeline. At the wedding I relied on him for the timeline, and he didn't let me down one bit. I really cant thank you all enough. My wedding was everything I imagined it would be and Mike was a HUGE part of that.
You guys rock!
I knew when I attended a wedding 7 years ago that I would find Tunes Across Texas and hire them for my wedding. Thank goodness I did. It was everything my heart could have desired and more; we danced the night away! We received compliment after compliment regarding our friendly DJ and the amazing music selection! I am so pleased with Linda, the easy communication and suggestions of your service, and of course DJ Al. Your suggestions for dance timeline were perfect. Thank you for making this a party of a lifetime.
Tunes across Texas did a great job at my wedding on 5/20/16 and I would definitely recommend them! DJ Al was the one at my wedding and he did an amazing job. They make it easy to pick your music and I talked to DJ Al for about 45 minutes the week before my wedding to make sure he was ready for everything. I had three sounds systems set ups each needing DJ Al at different times. He had a great voice and always kept the crowd on track and moving. I really wanted the dance party music to be mixed well so that we didn't have to listen through all 4 minutes of every song. Al was perfect at this and always kept the dance floor moving. The sound was great and they used quality equipment. Linda, the admin person, was so sweet and easy to deal with. She was prompt with her responses to my many questions and helped make it a seamless process. They are also very affordable and a great deal for what you are getting. Everyone had a blast at the wedding and on the dance floor thanks to y'all!
Tunes Across Texas has DJs ranging from high, medium and low experience with corresponding price levels. I was a little nervous about choosing this vendor at first because we wouldn't know who we are getting and couldn't read reviews on the specific DJ. However, my wedding planner had worked with one of their DJs before and highly recommended him, so I felt better about it when he was available for our date. Linda was easy to work with eventually, but not quick to respond. We really liked the online form process and filling out the must-plays, no-plays, etc. I was surprised when we were told only two weeks that we would be getting another DJ with no explanation. I understand things happen, but we might have made different choices had we known we weren't locked in with the DJ we requested. We ended up with a guy named Davey in the middle price range. A big complaint I had is that he cut off our first dance song. It was our first dance, we practiced for that song and obviously liked it. I think he misunderstood what we wanted. We hoped that couples would join us for the full song we chose a minute and a half in and continue dancing with us to the full song. My husband explained to Davey how we wanted it, wrote it on the online form and it was on the wedding timeline provided to all the vendors by our planner. He also played a large portion of the must-plays during the dinner part of the evening. We also thought later about a lot of the dance songs that we were excited to hear that he did not play. We picked songs intentionally to have a mix our older guests would like and others for the younger dancers. Our conclusion is that he must just pick songs that are his personal taste. He did keep the party going, but I was disappointed that many of our choices were taken into consideration during the dance part of the evening. We asked for classic country songs mixed in with a particular kind of dance party music. He ended up not playing many songs at all for our older guests. One really positive thing was that we loved that he found our final dance song because it's not an easy version of the song to find. We were happy with that. I think these may be things that just we noticed. Everyone had fun at our wedding, but it's disappointing to look back and realize so much time was wasted curating a playlist of songs that we would have liked to hear. We understand that a DJ needs flexibility to an extent to do his job, but it seemed like he didn't pay close attention to our requests and what we wanted.
I corresponded with Linda at Tunes Across Texas, and Al was our DJ for the night. Both were extremely helpful as well as accommodating to phone calls and emails, since my now-husband and I live in New York. Sometimes we had to play a little phone tag, but Tunes was flexible and persistent with trying to connect with us.
Overall, Al did a great job. He followed our description of the type of music we wanted (country and top 40s, no inappropriate club music) and made us feel like we were being taken care of. All of our requests were played, and he seemed to read the crowd well; he followed our timeline, but also checked-in with my husband and I as needed throughout the night. Definitely would recommend.
I used Tunes Across Texas for my May 23 wedding and couldn't have been happier with my choice. We had DJ Al who was a pleasure to work with. He called me the week of the wedding to make sure he had a good idea of what kind of music we wanted and did not want (this was just as important for us!). The day of the wedding he was set up and ready to go on time. Before the wedding party walked into the reception, he took the time to ask each person how to correctly pronounce their name, which was great. Some of our special dances were not on the Tunes Across Texas online music library, but Al made sure they were available for our wedding day. One of our biggest concerns was what kind of music we should play at the reception. Half of our guests were Spanish speaking while the other half spoke English. DJ Al put us at ease during our planning and assured us he would get everyone dancing...and he did! He read everyone's body language and played songs that kept everyone dancing. By the end of the night everyone was on the dance floor in a big circle dancing to "El Venao". Even my husband's grandmother got out to dance. If you're looking for an awesome DJ that will take the time to really listen to what you want and do not want DJ Al is your guy.
DJ Spann with Tunes Across Texas offered great service at a value! He delivered what was request and I would recommend his services!
REALLY ENJOYED HAVING MARK THERE - PLAYED A LOT OF SONGS TO GET PEOPLE ON THE DANCE FLOOR
Tunes across Texas dj-ed my wedding October 2013. I'm giving two stars because Linda was so nice and responsive. However I would have went elsewhere had I known how it would turn out. If music is important to you, spend a few hundred more with a better comany. Tunes across Texas is essentially a staffing company They don't assign a dj until a week or two before the wedding. Jovan-our dj- was suppose to call the week of the wedding to go over the timeline, music request, special songs etc. He was too busy and couldn't call that week. It was as if he never looked over any of the stuff I did online with tunes across Texas until he was there. We had to wait outside the wedding reception for 20minutes while he downloaded our entrance song. He also got the order of the wedding party wrong when announcing them. I had them typed up in order he was to read them! He didn't hardly play any of the songs we listed as 'must hear' and played a song TWICE that I had on the 'do not play list'. I didn't have a lot of special request but I did ask for the song 'shout' to be the last song. He played it right in the beginning. All in all I wouldn't recommend them if music is a big deal to you, like it was for me.
Tunes Across Texas was the DJ for our Ceremony and Reception on March 9, 2013. Working with Linda was great. She was very familiar with our venue and provided all of the paperwork specific to this venue well in advance of when it was needed. The price of the services was reasonable. Al was the DJ and we can't stop getting enough compliments on his work. My estimate is that 90% of the music we requested on the pre-determined list was played and then he did an excellent job of working in the requests from the crowd during the evening. Al knew how to monitor the crowd that was actively dancing during the evening...as the demographics changed. Great company to work with!
We booked Jim Spann from Tunes Across Texas and he did an excellent job keeping everyone on the dance floor for hours...and hours!! We wanted to make sure our guests of all ages loved the music and wanted to dance and Jim made that happen! We got lots of compliments about both the music and Jim!
Tunes Across Texas is a great value because they don't charge as much as most other DJs. And they do so much more and are great to work with! I recommend TAT and DJ Jim to anyone looking for a DJ!
Great to work with! Very professional and on top of things! Kept the party going all night!
Yay! We had a super fun DJ who not only played exactly what we put on our playlist, he also was a fantastic emcee. He had everyone dancing all night long. Can't ask for much more than that!
Our DJ was AWESOME! He took our playlist as a suggestions for stuff we liked, rather then just a playlist. Our party was hoppin' and every few min. someone would scream I LOVE THIS SONG! and run to the dance floor. The light show added some drama to our venue too!
I absolutely loved the online choices and programs. It made it so easy to get things done when I had the time rather than traditional M-F 8-5p.
The DJ did an ok job...should/could have cut songs off a little sooner when he saw that no one was dancing, or that it was going too long (partly the song's fault.)
We switched to this service last minute and they were SO helpful and organized. The online portal is a little time consuming- but totally worth it in the end.
Our DJ- AL was great! He spoke with me several times to make sure we were on the same page. He followed my time line to a tee and was very good at making sure everything flowed smoothly
I would def recommend Tunes Across Texas and AL!
We used TAT for both our ceremony and our reception. They have an online service that allows you to give them a timeline as well as a music list including must plays and do not plays. The dj showed up at least an hour and a half before the start of the ceremony to set up and was extremely friendly. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception was GREAT! everyone was on the dance floor the entire night! Couldn't have asked for a better DJ! It was definitely worth the money not to worry about the music and announcements!
The DJ did a great job. The only problem we had was that we were unable to hear the DJ during announcements. But not sure if it was due to outdoor venue or him talking over the music. There website was very helpful in planning our do plays and do not plays, they provided a light package, mics for the ceremony, and they were very reasonably priced and helpful along the way.
Jim was awesome! He kept the dancefloor crowded ALL night! He also helped things run smoothly.
Pros: easy to communicate with, professional, good at reading the crowd and keeping the party going. Stayed on schedule, got everyone's name right, wasn't obnoxious.
Words of Advice: don't spend a whole lot of time building a playlist, just pick a few songs that you really like, and really want to hear, and be sure to let them know what you don't want to hear. Our DJ didn't play anything from our "Do Not Play" list, but didn't play a whole lot from the list that we did want to hear, which we'd spent several hours putting together. Also, he didn't play the song we'd picked out for the Cake-cutting.
All in all though, TAT did a good job keeping our guests happy and dancing, which was really what we hired them to do, so they've got our recommendation!
Our DJ contacted me to go over everything to make sure it would all run smoothly. He really cared about our reception. This service was a part of our reception site as a packaged deal.
My dj did a great job, both at the ceremony and the reception. It wasn't until after our first dance that my husband and I noticed...he looked just like Elvis! Regardless, he did a great job and we have a great story (especially when he put on his gold sequin jacket and glasses at the very end!!!)
Tunes Across Texas was great at my wedding. The DJ played all of my request songs and played songs that guest requested. He was great.
He selected great music without much input from us.
We hired Tunes Across Texas for both my sister and my wedding and we really liked that they weren't obnoxious and they played great music that really got people dancing.;For my older sister's wedding they were great. For my wedding they forgot to bring the extra sound system we paid for. I had sent an email saying there would be no mother-son dance and the DJ announced one anyway which was embarassing because I had to go up to the stage in my wedding gown and say it wasn't happening. He played the wrong song for the bouquet toss and played another song I put on my 'do not play' list which also had overtly sexual langauge which I also said I didn't want. I only had a few songs on my 'must play' list but several of them were never played. The DJ also played the cake cutting song without any warning so by the time we found the caterer and the cake serving stuff the cake cutting song was already over. Fortunately all the DJ's mistakes didn't ruin the day. When I told the company of all the mistakes the DJ made they only refunded us for the sound system we paid for that never showed up. I never even recieved an apology. I would not reccomend Tunes Across Texas.
Tunes Across Texas was Great..;All great!
The management was very easy to work with.;They changed our DJ on the day of the wedding and didn't play the songs from the list we requested.
;make sure the DJ knows to do what you ask - and not what he / she wants to do
One of the things we asked was that no requests from guests were to be taken. He respected that request so when guests went up to him he told them our wishes and if they insisted we wouldn't mind he had them ask us. This happened only twice at our wedding. We were grateful that he not only respected our wishes he made sure the guests asked us instead of him telling them 'no' and being rude about it. He let us have the final decision in the end which was us letting them request the specific songs they asked for once we gave the 'okay.';Due to DJ's possibly getting sick or leaving the company they don't assign the DJ until closer to the wedding date. You don't get to meet your DJ until two weeks before the wedding. This can be nervewrecking in the event you meet your DJ and don't end up liking him/her. We were relieved when we ended up having a positive experience after we met him at a coffee shop to go over our song list and timeline.
They are awesome when it comes to answering any questions you have. They have an awesome DJ named Ben he was a great DJ and everyone had a blast with him!
Honestly, I don't remember hearing anything that was played or said. I was way too busy greeting guests and celebrating!!
He was great to work with. They have an online site where you pay, pick music, and design your own timelines. The DJ called and discussed the layout of the timeline, offered great suggestions, and made sure to get all requested music.
He was really easy to work with... I was SO nervous about picking the right music and our meeting with him really put me at ease. It actually made me excited. He played music based on what the crowd liked and kept people on the dance floor all night.
He kept us dancing all night long (thank goodness Jim was willing to stay late) and picked the perfect music! He listened to my suggestions exactly and really had a feel for my 'style' of music and the crowd's as well.
He was very friendly.;Someone told him that my mother wasn't feeling special enough so he tried to fix it by having my groom do a dance with my mom. I didn't feel like it was his place to try to solve family situations he didn't know anything about (i.e. my mom is never happy no matter what!)
You can choose all your songs off of their website. You are able plan the whole event exactly how you want it with their timelines and event planner. They are very easy to work with.;They weren't very quick about getting back to you with questions. It may take a couple days to get a response.
I really debated between a DJ and a band. I was so happy with my DJ because all of the music he played was familiar to everyone. He knew exactly what to play and when. After our 'first dance,' he did a great job of playing a song that everyone knew to get them all out on the dance floor to start the party. He went right into 'Sweet Caroline' and got the entire reception dancing. You can choose the song you do and don't want him to play ahead of time.;This was my fault - Don't wait until 3 days before your wedding to choose your songs!
