I couldn’t wait till the wedding day, leading up to the wedding day Doug was very helpful and let us know what was (and what wasn’t) realistic for what we could accomplish in the time we had.  Doug was a blast to work with on wedding day, everyone had positive things to say about him. Our only recommendation is to take more time with family photos. Once we got our gallery, they turned out so much better than we could have ever imagined. were our first choice for photographers, and were the first vendor we contacted as soon as we booked our venue. We did our engagement session at a tree farm in December and Courtney came prepared with ideas for settings and poses. The session was fun and easy — it was the groom’s first time working with T&O and he was blown away by Courtney’s direction of the entire shoot. T&O stayed in touch throughout our wedding planning so we would know when photos were going to be available, deadlines of when they needed information from us, and having a quick pre-wedding conversation to make sure she knew what we wanted and so that she’d be aware of any potential concerns. On our wedding day, she was everywhere all the time. It’s amazing how many moments she captured. The photos tell the entire story of our wedding day: the wedding party getting ready, the details of our venue and all the day’s festivities. We will cherish these pictures forever. Some of them serve as reminders of ephemeral moments we had nearly forgotten in the stress of our big day. :-) She and her crew knew how and when to capture beautiful, unique moments. For example, Courtney made sure to grab us for photos as the sun set over Lake Mendota. In the blur of our wedding reception, we certainly would have missed this ourselves, and it speaks to her professionalism and experience as a photographer to know exactly how and when to get the most of out a special, fleeting moment.

hoosing Twig & Olive. When I think back to what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life—my memory is tainted because of the horrible experience I had working with Twig & Olive as my photographer, specifically Doug. He was awful to work with, his attitude and arrogance alone, but on top of that he was just flat out rude and unwilling to work as a team with our videographer, who was INCREDIBLE mind you, and literally saved the day by getting shots that Doug completely missed. I would have no evidence of some of the most important and special parts of my wedding day, ways I included my mother who passed away through a charm on my bouquet and a sign on her chair at the ceremony reserved for her, if it wasn’t for my videographer. When booking with Twig & Olive I filled out a long questionnaire about the important details I was going to have at my day that I wanted photographed. I also planned a detailed itinerary and went over it with them but when the time we had planned for family photos came, Doug told everyone to go to cocktail hour and we would do them later. Completely throwing off my timeless and then missing the opportunity to get those photos with all of your family and loved ones in one place, on your one special day, something I will never get back. He instead grouped my family photos in with the wedding party photos which was complete chaos with that many people and turned out rushed and missed so many shots with individual family members, which again I had a list of all the shots I wanted to get with each family member and group that we discussed prior. The worst part of all—he was so impatient with getting photos of us with our two-year-old daughter because of the fact that he disregarded our timeline and when we were supposed to do photos with her before she was overtired, he changed. He was rude to our wedding party who weren’t cooperating with photos because of the chaos and big group and the fact that he sent them to cocktail hour first, when photos were supposed to be done during cocktail hour, before alcohol got involved. It was so bad to the point where guests at our wedding noticed his demeanor and were making comments about how rude our photographer was. My wedding day felt rushed and like I couldn’t enjoy my wedding reception with my husband because we kept being pulled away to do photos that were supposed to be completed during cocktail hour so that we had the rest of the night to just enjoy our day that we spent months and months planning and thousands of dollars on. Thinking back to my wedding day makes me cry every time because of Twig & Olive Photography and getting the photos back from them, which is supposed to be a joyful time, to look through your wedding photos and reminisce on the best day of your life, was heartbreaking for us. As we just remembered our horrible experience with him and saw how many special moments he missed from our day and photos with the most important people in our lives on the most important day we’re missed. I would not recommend Twig & Olive to anyone and would highly recommend you chose anyone but them. They are the biggest regret from my wedding day and it is something I will never get to redo. I will never get that day back or those moments back that Twig & Olive Photography stole from us.

photos. These guys are top notch - they are so experienced and professional and made the most beautiful photos for us. You truly get your moneys worth for this service. Before the wedding, they sent us cute gifts in the mail. And after the wedding, they sent us a hand-made piece of pottery and some gorgeous prints of photos along with a flashdrive of all of our digital files. We were just expecting an envelope in the mail with a flashdrive and were SO surprised! These guys go the extra mile for weddings and I very highly recommend considering them!

Doug was also very receptive to our input, and did a great job accommodating our preferences without compromising his artistry. Their approach is very “narrative driven,” rather than simply showing up to take family portraits. Doug and his assistant Catherine spent a lot of time with us throughout the day – “getting ready” pics, capturing various details (rings, dress, etc.), “first look,” wedding party candids before and after the ceremony, a very efficient formal family session, and reception/dance. Doug kept things moving without making us feel forced or rushed, and we can’t wait to see the final product (especially considering all of the people and locations we managed to shoot)! Twig & Olive are definitely a premium operation – in addition to beautiful and artistic photography, the level of service made it well worth it for us!

Also, he quoted our final edits to be about 3 months from our wedding date, however he finished them in about 3.5 weeks (we were married at the end of April). What a wonderful surprise! Photography, I feel, is one vendor you shouldn't cut costs on because their end product is what you will have to look back and reminisce; Blue Dandelion Photography captures the ENTIRE ESSENCE of your special day.

experienced and had many hints/tips about how to have a smooth wedding day in general. We worked with Doug for our engagement photos and Courtney for our wedding, both friendly and talented. Though, I thought Courtney was slightly easier to work with :) I thought that the price of their services was very reasonable considering the finished product. You also get your engagement session included and a disc of your final wedding pictures. I only had a couple downsides-first they were slightly hard to get a hold of. I usually used e-mail, and it would take several attempts to get a response back. Maybe they need to have more office people, as I think they are always growing as a business. Second-I should not be complaining about this, as they told me at our first meeting, but it takes a long time to get your pictures back. Our wedding was the beginning of June and pics probably won't be back till early September. It is hard to wait that long! Especially when everyone is asking to see photos. But, I know that the finished product will be worth the wait!

ackage with an engagement session included. What a fun photo shoot, a sneak peak on FB that night, and our pictures posted the next night for viewing/ordering. Everyone LOVED our photos :) I just got married the end of May and I haven't received the photos for my wedding yet. So, if you want your pictures back ASAP, this is not a photographer for you. I am patient because I know how perfect & amazing their work is. They hand-edit ALL of the images from the day. I am anticipating the digital edited images (on a CD with full rights) the end of summer/beginning of fall. Doug (co-owner) was our master photographer for our e-session and wedding. He was loved by all, especially my mom. Doug would show her shots on his camera throughout the day--she was blow away with all of them! I can't wait for my wedding photos, but I know that they will be exceptional :) UPDATE: IT IS SEPTEMBER 23RD--A FEW DAYS SHY OF 4 MONTHS SINCE OUR WEDDING. NO PICTURES YET :( WE HAVE GOTTEN 4+ EXCUSES AS TO WHY THEY ARE NOT DONE YET. IT IS GETTING VERY FRUSTRATING.

a year ago. After meeting her we knew it was right. Bobbi has this fun, relaxed, funky style that just fit with our whole day. She came up with beautiful ideas on her own and made magic with the camera. I would also recommend Leah Crubel Photography. She worked with Bobbi as a duo at our wedding and they were fantastic. I could not have asked for a better set of photographers.

and managed to get fantastic photos out of a cold, gray Wisconsin day. She truly stepped up for the wedding. She scouted our out of town location and was able to identify a couple of great vintage looking buildings which helped us to get the pictures we could have only dreamed of. She handled our rowdy wedding party with ease and was willing to take an extra trip for photos at the Hockey Hall of Fame - and make them WORK. She was with us from the moment I started getting ready till hours into the dance. Bobbi managed to capture all the details - I'm amazed at how great she made a disarrayed make-up table look :) You will not be disappointed in contracting with her. If you are looking for vintage flavor check her out. We have pictures that truly capture our big day and I can't wait to get them displayed on some of the unique products she offers (metal prints! antique frames! metal murals!). She also gives you all the pictures (high and low res) on CDs following the proofing so that you can choose to print on your own as well (but I can vouch her print shop does an amazing job for those pictures you want the extra special touch for).
