Union Bluff Meeting House was the picture-perfect venue for our wedding! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the charm of York and the Short Sands beach area gave the whole day a nostalgic, small beach-town feel that we loved.
From start to finish, the venue was incredibly organized and easy to work with, thanks to our amazing wedding coordinator, Annie Dalton. Annie is an absolute SUPERSTAR! She is so organized, on top of her game, and made everything run so smoothly. If there were any issues during the day, we still have no clue because she handled everything so seamlessly.
Annie guided us through the entire day without ever being overbearing. She thought of every little detail—even when we went to collect our wedding cards at the end of the reception, she saw me carrying dessert and flowers to the bridal suite and immediately joked, "Lizzie, you're all set." She had already placed my bouquet in water, wrapped up our cake, and even prepared a dessert spread for us. Truly unreal!
Leading up to the wedding, Annie was super responsive over email, which made us feel so comfortable and confident going into the weekend. I cannot recommend Union Bluff Meeting House enough—it’s a stunning venue—but honestly, Annie made the experience unforgettable. She is simply the best, and any couple would be lucky to have her on their team!
Darlene and Annie and the entire UB team were exceptional from start to finish. From our first visit to the Meeting House to check out the ceremony and reception space through the end of our reception and beyond, we can’t say enough about how organized, thoughtful, and thorough the team is, and how special they helped make our most important day. Working with Annie as our coordinator provided a seamless experience planning our wedding day. She kept us organized, communicated quickly and with timely and relevant information, and was doing a little bit of everything on wedding day to ensure everything was perfect. She answered questions very quickly leading up to our wedding day and was very helpful and thoughtful while guiding us through the planning process. Darlene took over the planning of our Rehearsal Dinner at the UB Grill and was extremely helpful in getting us on track, answering all of our questions, and ensuring that us and our guests had a great night.
The picturesque setting and the ability to arrive and spend the whole weekend in York is what drew us to the Union Bluff, but they delivered beyond measure. The entire staff was wonderful, helpful, and extremely kind to us and our guests. The food was exquisite, everything we ate all weekend was delicious. When choosing where to throw the biggest day of your life, the Union Bluff team is all in to make it easy and enjoyable for you and your guests, and we can’t recommend them enough.
Annie was our saving grace!! She was so helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. Any questions we had she found an answer and made us feel super confident that everything would be perfect on our day. I couldn’t have imagined not having Annie to make our day go absolutely perfectly!
Any questions?
The Union Bluff is an icon w/ amazing views for good value as far as a New England beachfront wedding venue. Overall, our wedding was great, but there were some issues leading up.
Food:
The garlic & herb chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans w/ baby carrots were excellent. Cucumber dill salmon was solid. Lemon risotto and broccoli rabe got mixed reviews. People loved the late night snacks!
Go to the fun annual tastings! They served my celiac+vegan mum an inedible standard vegan meal (pasta primavera) w/ GF pasta. So we requested a different vegan meal for our wedding, a stuffed pepper, which UBMH kindly accommodated! Our vegan guests RAVED about it and the protein in it (beans, edamame), which most vegan wedding meals lack (incl. UBMH’s pasta primavera). Highly recommend stuffed peppers if you like your vegan guests!
Hotel:
The hotel’s front desk was incompetent. Guests booked by phone, then the hotel would say they had no record. Multiple guests were double charged and had to spend a long time getting the money back. The hotel is astronomically expensive for what you get (old building, poor service). Also, can’t book in room block online, only by phone (inconvenient for int’l guests).
Day of coordination:
Darlene and her team were incredible day of. We didn’t have to do anything, everything just happened around us. UBMH staff made sure we ate, helped us rehearse ceremony mechanics, and dealt w/ vendors day of. Some guests complained later the ballroom was too cold so they went outside rather than dance — we wish we’d realized so we could've asked to adjust the temp.
Communication:
Our meetings w/ Darlene were helpful. She was also usually straight w/ us, even if it meant us spending less (like whether to extend the party an hour, whether to book an all inclusive package). Some missteps:
Our photogs suggested we go out for sunset photos as dinner service was wrapping up and that we open dancing after. A month before, we ran this timeline by Darlene and called out the sunset photo timing specifically, and she approved it. On our final call weeks later, we found out she had neither fully read the photogs’ timeline nor the body of the email w/ our callout before answering. She then insisted it would be too long for guests to wait and had us move the father-daughter dance to open dancing before the sunset photos. On the day, dinner service was too slow, so she delayed the father-daughter dance, making us late to our sunset photos. It meant we missed a big chunk of the dancing :(
We paid a deposit for a ceremony tent knowing we would have the option day of to not put it up. The week before, Hurricane Debby was projected to hit on the wedding day. Darlene emails us the Wednesday before to ask our tent decision (to pay remainder as scheduled), and tells us that due to a wedding the day before us, we wouldn’t be allowed to make a call the morning of. This sudden breach of our agreement was stressful. After hours back and forth, Darlene says it’s b/c if there are strong winds, it’s unsafe to setup the tent. It would have prevented a ton of stress if she’d led w/ that, not pinned it on the other wedding. We went sans tent and lucked out!
Costs:
Our final counts came to 151 (incl. 6 kids). Open bar and Concordville food package plus blue napkins. Food package prices increase annually ($105pp at signing in 2022 was actually $112pp by 2024). We paid UBMH $39,961 w/fees (doesn’t include the required rooms). Brunch was another $2,135 for 60.
As a native of Maine, I have always adored the iconic "big white hotel on the beach." So when my fiancé and I began searching for wedding venues, we knew this would be our top choice. Living out of state, we were unable to tour the venue in person, so we entrusted my mom to do so with Darlene. From that moment, we knew this was where we would be married.
Darlene’s professionalism, expertise, warmth, and humor were invaluable throughout the wedding planning process. The venue offers thoughtfully curated packages, providing a wide range of options to accommodate various needs. Darlene carefully guided us through selecting the perfect package, addressing any questions and accommodating our desired customizations. Darlene answered all my questions throughout the entire wedding planning process, even if they were silly and repetitive.
On the wedding day, every detail ran seamlessly thanks to Darlene and her dedicated team. My vision for the ballroom was brought to life in ways that exceeded my expectations. Our bridal party and family members were well-coordinated, and the entire day felt effortless. The bar service was exceptional, and the appetizers were served hot and promptly. Darlene’s team ensured that my husband and I had appetizers at our table, allowing us to savor them amidst greeting all of our guests. We opted for a plated meal, and the food was served swiftly, hot, and absolutely delicious.
Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting us on the beautiful venue and how much fun they had, which is a testament to Darlene’s remarkable work. We are deeply grateful to her and her team for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.
As a former coordinator at the Meeting House, I was trained and had an inside understanding of the quality of service and attention to detail Darlene and her team provides for all their couples. Darlene thinks of everything, is always one step ahead, and creates a beautiful stress free wedding day. Plus the location can’t be beat! I couldn’t have imagined my wedding day anywhere else.
I grew up spending my summers in York, so I knew the Union Bluff was going to be at the top of my list for wedding venues. The team there made it absolutely perfect. Our coordinator Annie joined the Union Bluff team part way through our planning process and she immediately jumped in. Annie was professional, responsive, knowledgeable - and most important, easy to talk to. We felt like she listened to our requests and knew exactly how to make our half-baked vision come to life. She was there through every step and her presence on site the day of was critical for success. The venue itself - breathtaking views, incredible cocktail hour location, great sized dance floor - many decor items included! The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, the professionalism of the entire staff was unmatched. Everything went smoothly and as planned, a true testament to the entire Union Bluff Team who just knows how to execute great weddings! Would certainly recommend.
Darlene and her team at the Union Bluff are EXCELLENT. Look no further if you are looking for a quaint coastal wedding, without sacrificing a traditional ballroom feel. My husband and I really appreciated how fast coordinators responded to our requests, how much they took care of us day of, and were incredibly accommodating with all of our requests (customization of the menu, special beer, etc). On the more fun side, the bar is AWESOME and kept everyone happy with strong drinks. I wouldn't say that the food at UB is out of this world, but definitely solid wedding food and lots of people complimented us on the hors d'ourves. The event staff were professional and so thorough with excellent service. Also, trust Darlene and her team with their vendor recommendations -- DJ Fred was truly excellent and knows the venue inside and out. One additional point is that I found the event staff/coordinators to be very easy to work with, but the front desk at UB was challenging to work with to coordinate all of our guests staying at the hotel, and required a LOT of my time and attention. I would do it all over again though, all of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and loved that the venue was attached to the hotel! Overall, my husband and I are so appreciative for Darlene and UB for making our wedding the best day of our lives!
Our wedding day at The Union Bluff Meeting House was nothing short of magical, and it's all thanks to this exceptional venue. From the moment we chose them, we knew we were in capable hands. The team's attention to detail and commitment to making our day perfect was evident throughout the entire process.
One of the standout features of this venue was their full-service approach. They handled the setup and takedown of everything, allowing us to focus on enjoying the day to the fullest. Even the unpredictable weather couldn't dampen our spirits, as The Union Bluff Meeting House had umbrellas ready for our wedding party and family, ensuring everyone stayed comfortable.
Darlene, our day-of coordinator, deserves special recognition for going above and beyond to make sure our day flowed seamlessly. Her expertise and dedication were invaluable in relieving us of any worries about the little details while we got ready before the wedding. With her in charge, we could fully savor the moments leading up to the ceremony.
A delightful surprise was the thoughtful gesture of packing dinners for us to enjoy on the night after the wedding, just before we left for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful way to end our special day, and it showed the level of care and consideration that The Union Bluff Meeting House puts into their services.
The food provided was outstanding, and our guests had nothing but compliments for their meals, the waitstaff, and the bartenders. The champagne, in particular, was a crowd-pleaser. The high-quality dining experience added an extra layer of luxury to our celebration.
Throughout the day, Darlene and her dedicated staff kept us on schedule and were readily available for anything we needed. Their presence was reassuring, and we felt supported and well taken care of every step of the way.
The Union Bluff Meeting House's support didn't start on the wedding day but extended to the entire planning process. They were extremely helpful, offering guidance, checking in with us regularly, and providing a timeline to keep us organized. Their proactive approach made the planning process smoother and more enjoyable.
In summary, if you're looking for a wedding venue that offers impeccable service, thoughtful details, and a dedicated team to bring your dream day to life, look no further than The Union Bluff Meeting House. We couldn't have been happier with our choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking to create lasting memories on their wedding day. Thank you, Union Bluff Meeting House, for making our wedding day unforgettable!
I have nothing but great things to say about this venue!! We had our wedding here in September 2023 and everything was incredible. Our coordinator, Kelsey, was very responsive and helped us with every little detail from the initial booking all the way through the end of the night when we asked if we could extend the reception time by a half hour. It was so nice to wake up on our wedding morning and not have to worry about a thing because Kelsey and her team took all of our decor and made the event space look beautiful. Not to mention, the weather was looking iffy all week and Kelsey was able to get us a rain tent last minute which was SO appreciated. Our guests can't stop raving about the venue, accommodations, and the food/drinks, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beach wedding to book here!! The only suggestion I would echo is to make the hotel guest block more user-friendly to book, as a lot of our guests had issues not being able to get in touch with the front desk since you can't book through the block online. Thankfully Kelsey also helped us out with this when we needed to switch around some rooms!
We loved everything about having our August 2023 wedding at the Union Bluff! The ceremony lawn overlooking the beach is beautiful, the food was DELICIOUS, and the wedding planning team led by Darlene helped our day run so incredibly smoothly. They accommodated every single one of our requests and their attention to detail was superb. Not to mention Short Sands Beach and York is the perfect beach wedding destination. The only complaint we had was the team that manages hotel bookings is a mess and not at all helpful. Our guests had a hard time booking in our room block - some were told it was sold out 6+ months before our wedding when others were allowed to book no problem. The rooms are all recently renovated and beautiful but it was an unnecessary headache since most of our guests travelled from out of town.
I have absolutely nothing to say but GREAT things about The Meeting House and our wedding coordinator Kelsey Hannon. From the planning to executing everything was flawless. Kelsey was so receptive, flexible, patient and a true professional at her job throughout the entire planning process. She was so quick at answering questions or emails, she was a true life savor! The venue itself was beautiful and really allowed for personalization of the space. The bartenders, serving staff and all axillary staff were so pleasant and great throughout the whole night! My guests are still talking about how great the food was! If you are thinking of planning an event or wedding at The Meeting House I couldn't say enough great things about the space and staff! Thank you Kelsey for being amazing and making our day magical!
Darlene and the entire Union Bluff team were nothing but an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding on July 15, 2023. The team was so responsive, helpful, friendly, and really helped us every step of the way with advice and constant communication. We couldn't have asked for a better coordinating team. The venue itself is incredible, you can't beat being right on the water, the food and drinks were exactly what we were looking for, and our vision was able to come together perfectly for our big day. We were able to have just about all of our guests stay onsite at the hotel, and everyone was so happy with their rooms, as were our closest family members that stayed in the suites above the meetinghouse. We also had our rehearsal dinner onsite at the Grill, and Kim was so easy to work with, and easily able to accommodate our larger party the night before our big day. I am so thankful we chose Union Bluff and could not recommend it more!
BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE - YOU WONT REGRET IT! The planning, the food, the drinks, the scenery.... and not obscenely overpriced like others on the water.
Kelsey and her colleagues are nothing short of amazing at what they do, and with this venue, you have a truly magical combination. I'm not the girl that's been planning her wedding since she was four, and the engagement was a surprise - so it goes without saying we needed a lot of help. The support from Kelsey made all the difference in the world.- she's a model of professionalism, poise and experience, and we would be lost without her. We had just the most magical day ever, and that wouldn't have been possible if she and the team were less than perfect. I truly don't know how they do it.
The Union Bluff Meeting House was absolutely amazing! We couldn't have had a more perfect venue for our reception. From the planning stages to the wedding itself, the staff was absolutely incredible. We worked with Amy and she was AMAZING. She is a pro and knows exactly what she is doing. The day of, we had absolutely nothing to worry about! Everything was perfect. The food was amazing, everything flowed seamlessly, and all of our guests have been saying how much of a great time they had and how they loved the venue! If you're considering getting married in York, I would 1000% recommend the Union Bluff Meeting House!
The Union Bluff was amazing. From the start of our wedding planning journey to the actual wedding, we felt heard, comfortable and positive that our day would turn out amazing. Our wedding coordinator Amy was outstanding. She really wanted to hear what we envisioned our wedding day to look like and she nailed it! Throughout the planning process she made sure all the details were understood. While getting ready for the day, Amy and other staff would sometimes pop in and show us photos of the reception hall, the ceremony spot and more to make sure we loved how it was looking. Everything was better than we could have imagined and the Union Bluff staff was the best! Best decision we made, besides marrying each other! Thank you to the Union Bluff!!!
I can't say enough about Amy and the staff at the Union Bluff Meeting House. We had to postpone our wedding a year due to COVID and they did not miss a beat. Even during the craziness of COVID and weddings in 2021, the staff was always an easy call, text, or email away. Amy made the process so easy and comforting and we were BEYOND lucky to work with her.
We also had so much fun at the tastings - yes, we went to 3... thanks COVID! They set the tastings up so well and you really get to see the venue come to life, view different table setting options, and mingle with potential vendors. Not to mention the delicious food!
Not a detail was spared on our big day and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Our guests raved about the food, views, location, and atmosphere. We'd pick UB as our venue and Amy as our coordinator a million times over. We could not have been happier with our decision to get married at the Bluff Meeting House and love that this will forever be our "special spot."
Maybe I’m biased because I love York, but I can not recommend this venue enough. (We did had a few issues with lodging, but as far as the wedding it was amazing). Our coordinator, Amy, was with us every step of the way. Amy answered my countless emails for 1.5 years and made me feel super comfortable! We got a package through them which included many of our vendors, so it made it super easy to work with everyone. We had a Sunday wedding on one of the busiest weekends in York, but it felt like it was truly “just us”. Amy made sure the decor was exactly how I wanted it, there food was amazing and everything ran super smooth! Also, free fireworks on our wedding? YES, PLEASE!
**There was an issue my husband made m aware of after the wedding. My husband is very particular about tequila. He asked multiple times for a specific tequila at the wedding. The Friday before we met with Amy to make sure it was all set and were told it was. At the wedding my husband noticed the tequila was not being served. When he first asked Amy he was told that they drank it all at the rehearsal dinner. My first thought was if it was for the wedding why was being served at the rehearsal. My husband then explained he knew what people were drinking because he was giving recommendations and it was not the tequila for the wedding. After explaining that, he was then told that it was very hard to order. It felt like we were lied to and like they were just trying to cover a mistake. It was not enough to ruin our wedding but my husband was very upset as he could’ve easily bought the tequila and brought it in and that was his one request. Everything else was wonderful and I would just triple check on things that are important to you as my husband was frustrated.
We cannot thank the Union Bluff and especially Darlene and Amy for making our special day so perfect!!! Throughout our whole engagement Darlene was so supportive and helpful, always available to answer questions and make the day exactly how we envisioned it. Everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding and that was in huge part due to Darlene and her team. We would highly recommend the Union Bluff not only for its gorgeous views but the incredible dining and service!!
The Union Bluff Meetinghouse knows how to host a wedding! My daughter had her wedding there in April. The ocean view from the ceremony is beautiful and wonderful for portraits. Our coordinator, Darlene, advised and took care of every detail. The day went perfectly with out any hiccups because of her experience. The bridal suite is spacious and gorgeous. We also had access to several other rooms above the ballroom for family to stay so we all felt connected and partied all day. Can't say enough good things about our experience.
As soon as we met Darlene when we went to visit the Union Bluff, we knew she was who we wanted to work with! Darlene, plus the incredible beachfront ceremony location, sold us on the venue. Darlene was available the entire process to answer any question promptly and fully. The day turned out to be absolutely perfect and everything we could’ve hoped for! Everyone raved about how delicious the food was - we had stations (everyone loved the pasta bar and the prime rib!). Darlene and her crew made sure everything in the ballroom was exactly how we envisioned it and it was beautiful. After hearing friends/family say they hadn’t eaten at their own weddings, I was nervous about getting food. I mentioned this to Darlene and she and the staff checked in on us through the whole event to make sure we had plenty to do eat and got to sample everything. I would not hesitate to recommend the union bluff for a wedding. There isn’t a thing I would change about our day and choosing the Union Bluff was the best move we made in wedding planning.
My husband and I had the most amazing wedding at the Union Bluff. Amy Sallese was our coordinator. She included all of our requests and on the day before the wedding and the day of, it was honestly amazing to just be there and not have to worry about anything. Everything went off without a hitch and the night ran smoothly. The venue itself is also gorgeous and we were so lucky to have a beautiful April day for our wedding. Having an off-season wedding gets you some discounts and we also liked that we had more privacy than we would have if we got married in the summer. Thank you Amy and the Union Bluff! We couldn’t be happier!
Had the most perfect wedding day at Union Bluff! Most of our guests were from out of town and everything was really convenient. Amy was our coordinator and did an absolutely amazing job!! She went above and beyond, even helped blow dry my dress after it rained! She was calm, and kept everything on schedule. She made the suggestion for our rehearsal dinner. She truly made wedding planning such a breeze and we were so fortunate to work with her. Everything was decorated perfectly. We had to move our ceremony inside due to a storm and the transition was seamless. Staff during the reception was super friendly, they set aside food for us and made sure we were eating. Overall highly recommend Union bluff!
After 3 postponements my husband and I just had the most amazing wedding mostly thanks to Darlene and the Union Bluff Meeting house. Darlene was so patient throughout the rescheduling process having multiple calls with us to plan and replan all the details. She was extremely organized and made sure every detail was taken care of on my wedding day. From pinning all the boutonnieres on the groomsmen to bustling my dress and making sure we got apps and dessert, she did it all! I was not stressed or worried that day knowing she was coordinating everything. The lawn ceremony overlooking short sands beach was beautiful- even in late October- and many guests told us how amazing the food was. We got haddock and NY Strip and recommend the clam chowder and mini lobster rolls for cocktail hour. You will not be disappointed by booking the Meeting house for your wedding.
I cannot recommend the Union Bluff enough for your wedding! We had a dream wedding, and Amy was AMAZING! She was so phenomenal leading up the the date and so so helpful along the way. She even bustled my dress which everyone still cannot get over! She made sure we were having the perfect day on our wedding day, making sure we were eating and drinking and had everything we needed. The venue itself is gorgeous and could not be in a better location. All of our guests loved the fact that they could park their car and then not touch it again for the rest of the weekend. Such a perfect weekend. Thank you to Amy and the rest of the team for making the day a dream come true for us!
When we got engaged, we knew we wanted to get married in Maine. We did look around at other venues, but the Union Bluff was our choice! A lot of planning goes into a wedding, but our wedding coordinator at the Union Bluff made everything so easy for us, and took so much stress off our shoulders. Our wedding coordinator Darlene was there every step of the way. From check-ins, to answering our questions, great advice, and so much more. Darlene was always there for us! On top of having a great wedding coordinator, the Union Bluff is a beautiful venue. We had our ceremony on the lawn of the Union Bluff, which overlooks the ocean. It made for spectacular photos! The Union Bluff Meeting House was exceptional. It is elegant, spacious, updated, and all around a perfect venue. On top of all of that, the food at the Union Bluff is top notch! From appetizers to entrees and more, they were so flexible with the food choices, and the food is excellent! We highly recommend the Union Bluff for any couple that would like to get married in Maine, especially in the York area. You will not be disappointed!

Union Bluff was so easy to work with (especially planning during Covid).. Darlene was an amazing wedding coordinator.. she was on top of everything, always available to answer questions and most importantly made sure everything on our wedding day was executed seamlessly! We had our rehearsal dinner at The Grill and Elena and her team were awesome as well. I can’t say enough positive things about this venue! Thank you for making our wedding dreams come true :)
Being a 2020 Bride who had to reschedule her wedding to 2021 due to COVID, I couldn't have asked for a better experience than I had with the wedding event staff at the Union Bluff Hotel especially Darlene. They were professional and helpful, but most importantly they cared. When we had to make the difficult decision to postpone the wedding a year, Darlene took the time to talk with us and talk through all our options. She was understanding and compassionate. When it came time for our actual wedding day I couldn't have been happier with how it all turned it out. Darlene and her staff thought of every last detail so that I could simply enjoy my wedding day and for that I am forever grateful to them!
My fiance and I booked the union bluff meeting house for our dream wedding as york has always been our happy place and my family being property owners for the past 37 years here in town. We booked the venue for our 120(quoted guests) which ended up being 147 on guest list back in 2019 for the date of 6/14/2020. then the nightmare and uncertainty of covid hit, we did not want to cancel and our coordinator Darlene said that most weddings around our time were pushing out to July but outcome was still uncertain. We ultimately made the tough call and decided to push it out a year 6/13/2021 knowing that my father sick with cancer would likely not be here on this earth anymore to attend physically, beside that we would also have to agree to the increased food rate of 2021. We made the call and moved the date though very unsure we hoped for the best outcome and checked back for the 50 person restrictions to be lifted (47 guests,1 bartender, 1dj, 1 photographer). We checked back a few times and as the time came closer it became pretty certain that the restrictions would not be lifted in time to have dream wedding. Come February we were still restricted to 47 guests and were going to have to cut our wedding in 1/3. Both being from large families we realized that it wouldn't just be friends coming off the list but also many relatives. We decided to look into other options and found a venue in another state with no restrictions. we canceled the union bluff meeting house and booked the new venue. We then requested a refund for our 4500$ deposit given the financial circumstances of everyone during these times and the alloted time for them to book a new event we did not feel this to be unreasonable. Darlene refused right away claiming we forfeited our deposit and "most likely" restrictions would be lifted by our date. After many email correspondence they offered to give us a partial refund if they could book another event for the date. We had multiple friends call and leave messages requesting a date in June and they never heard back from the meeting house. Darlene sent us an email a couple months after canceling and told us that restrictions would be lifted on 5/24/21 and that we would not be receiving any refund now for our wedding that was supposed to take place 2 weeks later. We have multiple friends that had similar wedding dates at other venues that were canceled and fully refunded without any issue. Covid hit my family and friends hard just like most people and there are now 4 less guests on our list, my father being one. We do not feel it ethical at all to have to hire an attorney for 1,000$+ to try and get our deposit back when the only services rendered by the company/coordinator were a food tasting and email correspondence. It is sad that such a large successful company would take advantage of couples such as our selves and I'm sure we are not the only ones. I'd also like to note that all our vendors issued us refunds with no questions asked. Im hoping that reading this on paper will make something click with the coordinator or the venue and they will realize that this situation is just plain "bad business" and try and make it right and if not I hope this is a fair warning to other couples
Our wedding was amazing! Jordan was great to work with, she is so calm and great at reassuring that it will be perfect. On the day of she kept checking in to see if we needed anything, to show us how everything was coming together, she made it so easy! It was absolutely perfect would recommend anyone getting married to check it out!
I don't even know where to begin. Through a cancelled wedding, a reschedule and countless outside factors Union Bluff was there for us. We could never have predicted a pandemic to strike nearly two years ago when we started planning our wedding. Darlene and her staff have been incredible for the past two years. At this point the Union Bluff is basically family. Although our wedding was smaller than originally anticipated we could not have asked for a better day. Every single detail was thought through and executed perfectly for us to have a safe and absolutely gorgeous day. If you're planning a wedding there is no other option. Thank you Union Bluff for making our dreams come true!
When my now husband and I booked this venue for our 2020 Wedding back in January of 2019, similarly to the rest of the world, we never could have guessed that COVID-19 would hit in 2020 and devastate not only our nation but the whole world! When we met Darlene, the Union Bluff (UB) event Coordinator in 2019, she was wonderful and so was the venue and her suggestions for nearby vendors...however, when COVID struck our dealings with Darlene and the UB quickly became nothing but stressful! We had put down over $5,000 worth of deposits towards our wedding and reception with the UB at this point and our potential guest count limit of 200 was being cut to 50 guests due to COVID Precautions by the State of Maine. We understood these precautions of course, however, what we did not feel was reasonable was that the UB refused to refund any portion of our deposit given the extreme circumstances which were COVID despite the fact that every other couple we spoke with getting married at other venues were able to get their deposit back even though other venues “contracts” say “non-refundable” also…Other venues were being understanding that COVID was not just any typical reason a wedding could have been canceled or changed and for that matter the UB’s “contract” says we were allowed to invite 200 guests and now they could not uphold their end of the “contract” either… As 2020 couples we were given 3 options: 1) move your whole wedding to 2021 but also pay 2021 prices, 2) keep your date with COVID restrictions and reduce your price only to the food/beverage minimum per the original contract 3) “keep and move” option keep your current date and if COVID improves have your wedding as planned but book another date later in 2020 or in 2021 (paying 2021 prices) …all of which offered NO money returned at all that was previously deposited. These were the options no matter how close you were to your wedding date also when the State regulations for COVID were changing almost weekly when COVID was at its worst in April/ May of 2020. My husband and I opted to have our ceremony at the UB since that was our dream and we could not get our money back and have many elderly family members that may not make it to see us get married in 2021 and move our reception to a New Hampshire Venue with more flexibility. All of our interactions with the UB and Darlene after COVID began were stressful and frankly, difficult because they were unreasonable about using money we already paid them towards our wedding, towards our Lawn ceremony needs. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone! If you get married here ask them to CHANGE THE CONTRACT! Don’t sign for a non-refundable deposit! Good luck!
Response from the Vendor on 08/15/2020
Thank you for pointing out how flexible we tried being. To clarify, option 2 did have reduced food and beverage minimums, not the original as stated. We also offered to host the rehearsal dinner in place of the reception as planned and ceremo...
ny the next day. As noted, we do put a lot of time and commitment into our couples from the moment they start planning with us; not just on the wedding day. That, unfortunately, comes at a monetary cost to us, and combined with the fact that we remove your wedding date from the market, is why we clearly state all deposits are non-refundable both prior to booking and in your contract. We are sorry your plans changed but hope your reception was wonderful! We wish you all the best!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Union Bluff Meeting House for making our day SO amazing. My now husband and I knew that we wanted to get married in Maine and Union Bluff was the first place that we looked at in person. We knew at that moment that it was where we wanted to get married and worked with Amy Sallese to get the ball rolling. From the very beginning, Amy was perfect. She held my hand the entire process and always was available and flexible for any and all questions I had. On the day of the wedding, the ENTIRE staff was phenomenal but Amy was especially great. Amy made sure I had zero things to worry about and was helpful in ensuring the day was progressing smoothly - she even stopped by the morning of the wedding to show me pictures of the reception being set up just to ensure I had no last minute changes. Amy really does go above and beyond.
As for other parts of the reception, the food was great and the staff serving it was just as amazing. They were super accommodating to food allergies that some of my guests had and made sure everyone had what they needed. At the end of the night, the staff packed up everything for us and we simply had to wheel it up one flight in the elevator to get it to our room!
I would HIGHLY recommend Union Bluff for your future wedding!
I will never be able to truly explain how our wedding was a dream come true thanks to the Union Bluff. Amy and the rest of the wedding coordinating team always went above and beyond to make this the best experience. Every detail was planned with their guidance and they made sure everything went so smoothly throughout the entire process. Amy listened to our vision and made our wedding everything we could have imagined and more. The day of the wedding I did not have to worry about a thing. Amy was there giving updates, coordinating with vendors and even with last minute wardrobe touch ups! Amy we cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us! We will dream about our wedding for the rest of our lives!
Our guests made clear that it was the BEST wedding they had attended!
We were very happy with Amy-our wedding coordinator, loved the outdoor Oceanside ceremony space and used the florist and DJ that was recommended.
We can’t say enough about the custom menu and all portions of the night were well executed. The ONLY thing I can think of for improvement is cooking the green beans longer!
It was a 12 out of 10!
If you are looking to have the most perfect venue, then you MUST book at the Union Bluff. To start out with, Amy Sallese was the most AMAZING wedding coordinator we could ever ask for. We had a longer engagement, so I was constantly emailing her with questions and advice. She always got back to me so quickly, and was the most helpful person throughout the crazy planning. She made all of my annoying questions seem like no big deal at all.
On the actual day, there were so many different things going on, and Amy made sure that nothing ruined the day. She checked in with me, my husband, the bridesmaids, and groomsmen and got whatever we needed when getting ready. After the ceremony and pictures, she had food waiting for my husband and I, and of course, champagne. The food was absolutely amazing, the reception was perfect, and our guests have NOT stopped talking about how amazing Union Bluff is. The staff went above and beyond for our perfect day during the ceremony, reception, and of course the after party! I wish I could redo the whole day over again because of how perfect it was.
This place is just stunning, but the staff members make it even better. You are crazy if you don't get married here!
There are no words to express how incredible the Union Bluff Meeting House was for our wedding! Amy was our coordinator and she was amazing. Throughout the whole planning process she was so responsive and helpful, and always made time to meet with us when we were in town. On the wedding day, she came to the bridal suite numerous times to check on me and to show me pictures of everything being set up downstairs. This was super helpful! I honestly didn't feel like I needed to worry about anything because she was so on top of it. Even the staff throughout the night were so attentive, and made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand and food to eat. We were gently reminded when we were supposed to be somewhere or do something, and it never felt like we were being dragged around. The after party at the Union Grill was also great, and the food was delicious! I could go on and on about how great this venue is, and I highly recommend it for anyone's wedding!
Everyone says wedding planning is super stressful, like a second job. It was for us...until we found the Union Bluff Meeting House and chose it as our venue and we found Darlene, our wedding coordinator. Where many other venues and coordinators came from a place of "no" Darlene and her team came from a place of "yes, we'll take care of that". Darlene's advice not only on things related to Union Bluff was incredibly valuable but also her recommendations of other vendors we used were outstanding. We were happy with all of our vendors and the wedding was everything we had hoped for and more. Everyone also told us that something is bound to go wrong on your wedding day, but Darlene made sure that did not happen for us.
If you are looking to have a stress free day this is the team for you--I dropped off all of our reception decor and other items earlier in the week and Darlene and the staff at UB took care of everything. The following day everything was packed up neatly for us. We really didn't have to worry about a thing. Darlene even busted and unbustled my dress (twice!) when my sisters were intimidated by this task.
The food and service was amazing, all of our guests raved about the staff. For example, one of our guests forgot to let us know about an allergy and her meal was quickly swapped out for what she needed and the team was happy to do so.
We had many out of town guests and they appreciate the proximity of the hotel, reception venue, and ceremony to each other and the town of York, many of our families made a week or weekend out of the wedding and the location is very convenient and beautiful, right on Short Sands beach. We lucked out with the weather for our 9/21 wedding but this would be a great venue even on a rainy day. The bridal suite was great and was large enough to be comfortable for my 14! girls to get ready and have a team of hair and makeup stylists come in. It is also beautiful for photographs.
We also utilized the hotel bar and grill for our afterparty where the staff was more than accommodating and everyone had a great time. Most vendors we worked with were very comfortable with this venue and staff at UB and this working relationship was helpful and we didn't have to worry about coordinating everything. We really can't say enough positive things about Darlene, the team at UB and the venue. We have absolutely no complaints. We would make this decision ten times out of ten. You won't regret it!
The Union Bluff Meeting House was everything I dreamed my wedding to be and more. Darlene was my coordinator and was SO organized which I loved as I am a type “A” personality. She made every detail exactly what my vision was! We had the ceremony outside which was perfect. The weather was perfect. The entire day ran so smoothly and when people asked what went wrong I couldn’t think of a thing. Darlene is the best of the best! I look forward to continuing to vacation at the Union Bluff and highly recommend their venue for any function.
If you are looking for a gorgeous beach or ocean venue or trying to go for a nautical theme there is no venue more perfect! Honestly there are too many good things to say about this venue that I can't even write them. My wedding day was truly exactly what I wanted and perfect thanks to this beautiful venue and their wedding planner Darlene! Seriously Darlene takes care of everything! I can be a bit of a control freak and went to the reception to put decor where I wanted it, but I didn't have to touch a single thing. Darlene had already gone above and beyond and made the room perfect! Any wedding disaster or if anything goes wrong Darlene is on it and fixes it before you can even freak out...Every bride needs that on her wedding day! My guests are raving over how beautiful the venue was inside and out and how great the food was! Sometimes wedding food isn't the best because it's cooked in bulk, but let me tell you our food was perfectly cooked! Guests said the filet minion was best they ever had, harvest stuffed chicken was nice and moist, and the butternut squash raviolis (vegetarian) were tasty! I could go on and on about this place. So if you want the best and most beautiful venue for wedding look no further than the Union Bluff!
My husband and I had Darlene as our coordinator. She is truly amazing and brought so much ease to the wedding planning process. She made my dream wedding day come true and made it all look effortless. We love the union bluff!!!
We couldn’t have chosen a better spot. The hotel and the view are beautiful. We had our ceremony and reception in the meeting house and it was perfect - plenty of space while also feeling very intimate. A special thank you goes out to Amy who helped answer every question along the way and was genuinely invested in making sure we had the best day ever! Two thumbs up, 5/5, A+, and nothing but the best to the Union Bluff Hotel and their phenomenal staff.
Union Bluff was absolutely amazing in helping us plan and execute our dream wedding. From our first meeting with Amy, she was so professional and answered all the questions we had, honestly. I never felt like we were being pushed upsell items & they truly helped us navigate how to plan a wedding. Amy is always available through email, quickly responding to even the silliest questions I had. They were upfront about their costs & were very affordable - we did get married in the off season which helped this part. The wedding weekend was unreal. The attentiveness of Amy and her staff was something I had never seen before. Whatever we needed, we had it immediately keeping everyone’s nerves at ease. Amy made sure the flow of the night went smoothly for us and our guests. Always checking in on us & making sure we were doing okay throughout the night. The meetinghouse is a gorgeous venue & having the rooms above the ballroom was awesome. We had our own building & were able to hang with friends and family without worrying about disturbing the rest of the hotel. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was and what a great stay they had in the hotel. When I say Amy & Union Bluff are top notch, that’s even an understatement. We could not have asked for a better wedding weekend & we owe so much to Amy for that!! 5+ stars!!
We got married on New Years Eve at the Union Bluff and we’re thrilled with how it all turned out. The coordinator, Amy, was easy to work with and did a really nice job of discussing options and walking us through the reception to put our minds at ease (underrated through this process!).
Getting married in southern Maine in December was a little scary but Amy helped us come up with a backup plan for the ceremony to be held there. Thankfully weather wasn’t an issue but peace of mind is valuable.
Highly recommend the Union Bluff. Do yourself a favor and ask for Amy when you call!
Darlene and her team at Union Bluff are absolutely incredible. From our first meeting with Darlene her attention to detail was obvious and I was sold. From the day we signed our contract to the day after our wedding I felt so at ease knowing Darlene had everything covered even things I didn't think of . The communication we received was timely and clear, most times we e-mailed we had a response < 24 hours same with voicemail (in the rare case we didn't catch someone in the office).
The venue itself was perfect! We had a fall wedding (Thanksgiving weekend). While I know this venue is a super popular summer venue, it was perfect for the fall. We had our ceremony on the lawn in a heated tent (it had snowed earlier in the week but had warmed up to 40) and we also had heaters on the patio for guests to enjoy throughout the cocktail hour and the reception.
Our guests are still raving about the food! Everyone loved the food, but who wouldn't?! We love eating at Union Bluff tavern in the summer so we knew the food was going to be amazing! My father was so impressed at how perfectly the steaks were all cooked, because "you never see a steak cooked this good at a wedding" - his exact words.
We look forward to sharing many more memories at Union Bluff and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married in Maine! We're from Boston and it was an awesome weekend getaway for our friends and family (< 1-1.5 hrs)
We got married at The Union Bluff in early November 2018 and we could not have asked for a better experience. Genna was our main coordinator and we cannot say enough about her – she was so incredibly organized, creative, informed, attentive, and turned our dream wedding into a reality. While Genna was our main coordinator, The Union Bluff is truly an amazing team that works together. We were extremely well taken care of from every single staff member at The Union Bluff – by all of the wedding coordinators, the front desk, house cleaning, the Pub staff – everyone truly played a part in making our wedding weekend perfect. The food at our wedding was incredible. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful. The ballroom was stunningly decorated. Thanks to Genna and Team our wedding was perfect! Lastly, the views at The Union Bluff are nothing short of spectacular – your guests will be amazed!
The Union Bluff Meeting House went above and beyond for dream wedding. Darlene and her staff did such an amazing job and I can't begin to thank them enough. Darlene was there every step of the way helping us with anything we needed. The venue, food, music and atmosphere were beyond anything I could have imagined. Darlene made all of our wishes come true and went the extra mile to make sure we had such a perfect day. The Union Bluff Meeting House, Darlene and staff made my wedding day a day that we could never forget!
We could not have been happier with our recent wedding held at the Union Bluff . Everyone we encountered was exceptional. A special thank you to Amy our wedding coordinator for her attention to detail it made the day fantastic. My son and daughter in-law described their day as the best ever. Thank you again for a day we will remember as one of the best days ever.
From the second we walked in to the front doors of the Meeting House we knew this would be the best place for our wedding.
Our first meeting with Darlene she made us instantly feel like family. As it should be whether you are two men, two woman, a man and a women she treated us as a couple in love wanting to have the perfect wedding.
Once we chose the Meeting House as our venue Darlene listened to every little detail of what we wanted. The execution on our special day was flawless (even with last minute changes). Every recommendation she made, the DJ, photographer, florist were the right choices for us.
Having your ceremony on the lawn with the beautiful ocean backdrop made for stunning pictures.
Most of our guests stayed at the Union Bluff Hotel which was so convenient for out of state travelers.
My wife and I would recommend anyone looking for the best wedding experience to contact Darlene and her Team for your special day.
I got married at the Union Bluff Meeting House in September and it was nothing short of perfect! First, we are from NJ and wanted to have a semi close destination wedding and Genna, our event coordinator, made the whole process seamless! She offered video and voice calls easy and quickly responded to each email quickly. Genna also ensured each detail was taken care of; making the wedding planning process easy and fun. Second, the venue was set up perfectly (even better than how I imagined) and was more than happy when I first saw it. The food at the union bluff was amazing as well; we chose the traditional lobster bake which our guests loved. Bartenders were super attentive and drinks were great. Overall, I wouldn't change a single thing about my wedding day and cannot recommend the union bluff (and Genna) enough!!!!
I have not a single regret about choosing the Union Bluff Meeting House for my special day. Our wedding/reception was flawless and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Genna was amazing throughout the whole planning process as well with answering my million questions and pointing me in all the right directions. The reception hall was set up beautifully, the food was incredible, and all staff were pleasant and courteous. Genna worked with all of my vendors in ensuring that the day went smoothly. Thank you Union Bluff, from the bottom of our hearts, for such a perfect wedding day. If you are on the fence about a venue, I guarantee, you will have no regrets going with the Union Bluff. Truly wonderful!
-Michael and Abbey Dube
The Union Bluff was the perfect wedding venue for my husband (still feels so crazy to say that) and I. We had a Friday wedding and we were SO happy we decided on that. Many of our guests were in town Thursday to Sunday which allowed us to spend a lot of extra time with them! It was so incredible having the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and accommodations all on site. Amy was our coordinator and she was unbelievably helpful and passionate about her work. We wish we could relive this day!
I got married on one of the rainy weekends this summer but despite the weather everything was perfect! I had Amy as my coordinator and she went above and beyond for over year during the planning process. She would respond to emails within 24 hours and would always make sure to help in whatever way she could. Amy was present nearly all day for my wedding and was helping along (including cleaning the bottom of my dress with club soda)! I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator and I would highly recommend her to anyone!
The Union Bluff Meeting House is an amazing venue! I got married there on July 15th, and it was such a wonderful day - all thanks to the amazing staff! Amy Sallese was my coordinator, and she went above and beyond to make sure my big day was a success. She was there for me every step of the way - with great vendor recommendations, food tastings, checklists, etc. And on my wedding day, she was there to make sure everything ran smoothly (and she made sure me and my husband ate something - that was huge!). It was a perfect day - we got married on the lawn, had cocktail hour on the patio, and had the reception in the ballroom. I highly recommend getting married here!
Darlene and the entire staff at the Union Bluff are absolutely amazing. I had my wedding there on July 14th, and they were so helpful throughout the whole planning process. From booking vendors to planning the meal they had an answer for every question I had! Darlene and her team are super responsive so you're not left trying to figure things out on your own, your coordinator is really there for you through everything. They have everything covered down to the tiniest little detail! I am so glad we chose the Union Bluff Meeting House. For a Saturday wedding you are required to book all 8 rooms above the Meeting House and that was probably one of the best things, it really felt like the whole place was ours! My day was completely stress free, everything went off without a hitch, and I didn't have to worry about a thing! It was the most perfect day! I can't thank or recommend Darlene and her team enough!
I would choose Union Bluff a million times over to have our wedding. It was all so beautiful and Genna was so great. We stopped in unannounced one day and Genna was there to greet us. She showed us around and we knew immediately this was our venue. Genna is always professional, responsive and knew the answer to any question we had along the way. The day couldn't of gone more smoothly. Genna and her staff took care of everything from start to finish. Certain members for the hotel staff could’ve been more friendly/ accommodating but I do have to thank Chris for suggesting the king suite for my stay the night before and to get ready in the day of. It is spacious, on the top floor of the main hotel and has gorgeous views of the ceremony lawn. I was able to see guests arriving from above and it just added to the experience. It was the most wonderful day and we are so glad we chose Union Bluff .
Amazing! Darlene was absolutely wonderful. She answered every crazy question I could have asked in less than 4 hours via email. The wedding was fantastic, the venue was beautiful and accommodated our 9 piece band and large dance floor beautifully! The food was phenomenal- better than the tasting we did in January! We wish we could do it all over again- what a fabulous time!
My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the Meeting House venue itself, is the hotel staff. They were incredibly rude from day 1 of booking hotel blocks. The day of the wedding they were rude to the hair and makeup team and were less than accommodating. I heard from several guests that they were also very rude upon checking in. I know this has been a common complaint amongst many wedding parties and wedding vendors- its a true shame they do nothing about it. It is the ONLY bad thing about our wedding at Union Bluff.
Genna and the whole UB team exceeded all of our expectations for our wedding on June 23rd, 2018! From the minute I walked into the ballroom to scope out the venue, Genna was so friendly and willing to show us around and answer all our questions. Considering I had dropped by unannounced, I was surprised by the warm welcome, as this is NOT the norm, as some of you may have already experienced visiting wedding venues. It really put me at ease. At the time, we were in the middle of lengthy negotiations/contracts with another popular venue in the area and I was feeling pretty anxious and deflated by the experience so far. Once I walked into the UB Meeting House, it just felt right. The staff was so friendly, and it just felt like a place where we could RELAX and have fun with our friends and family for this extremely important weekend in our lives. We scrapped our plans with the other venue immediately, and I am honestly so pleased with our decision to have our wedding at the UB Meeeting House. Mid-way through the planning process my husband got an international job offer and we relocated to the London. Genna didn't miss a beat, and we still managed to complete the planning process via email and phone as needed.
Everything went so smoothly the day of the wedding. The food was incredible. The staff was amazing and so accommodating to our guests (many of whom were visiting from around the country and world -UK, Nigeria, India). We were able to customize the ballroom and the experience exactly to fit our vision. We were so pleased, my husband even joked during his little speech that night that someone should do a case study on these people. Their customer service is that good! We also loved the fact that for a Saturday night wedding you get(or are required to book) the 8 hotel room directly above the venue. It really made it feel like our space, and it was so convenient to be able to pop up to my room to bustle the dress, change shoes etc that night of the wedding. It was also great for the next day, as we also hosted a wedding brunch the next morning in the ballroom. This was awesome for guests to enjoy the view of the water and spend a little more time in the area together. Again, the UB team did not disappoint with the friendly service and delicious food!
TLDR: If you are thinking about having your wedding here, don't think about it anymore...just book that date!!!! We feel so lucky to have worked with them. Thank you so much to Genna and the UB Meeting house team for making our wedding dreams come true!
I am so happy we chose Union Bluff for our wedding weekend. The food was AMAZING and we're still getting compliments about it. The location is perfect. Genna was our coordinator who was super responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. There were a few hiccups at our reception (my husband and I forgot to tell the DJ I wasn't doing a bouquet toss!!) and Genna made it 100% work and was totally calm. They have tons of in-house decorations that they let couples use which is also super helpful!
If you're getting married on a Sunday be aware that moving rooms can be a bit stressful! We stayed in the main hotel on the Saturday night before our wedding and switched to the bridal suite for Sunday as the Sunday wedding can't have the bridal suite on Saturday nights. But, the Sunday minimums are VERY reasonable (as are plate prices) so it's totally worth it for brides on a budget.
My one complaint would be the hotel staff wasn't super pleasant and a few guests said certain ones were rude. But otherwise, The Meeting House, Genna and her staff were amazing. If I could do it all over again I'd choose the Meeting House a million times.
Beautiful venue, great location, and the best staff! Amy was an awesome coordinator and so on top of everything. Would recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beachy venue in New England
My husband and I were married in June 2018 and I couldn’t have been happier with the Union Bluff Meeting House and Staff. Amy and her team were like a well oiled machine. I didn’t have to worry about a thing and everything ran so smoothly. She was very responsive to our questions throughout the process and was extremely helpful. The location is so beautiful overlooking the water and the food was also great. I highly recommend the Union Bluff Meeting House for anyone looking to get married in the York area.
We were fortunate enough to select the Union Bluff Meeting House for our wedding. We cannot begin to express the gratitude that we have for Darlene, Jenna and the rest of the crew. They executed every detail with a seamless efficiency and went above and beyond to make our day special. The food at the venue was first class and it was served promptly, this is a detail often overlooked by many venues, especially when dealing with outside caterers.
Darlene, worked closely with us to ensure that we were keeping to schedule, that we were fed and having fun throughout the day. There were times were I felt like we were working with the secret service.
Let's face it, having a wedding as costly in both time and money but we couldn't be happier with our experience and feel like we received great value and most importantly a great time was had by all!
To sum it all up... WOW!
Amy and the entire Union Bluff staff were absolutely incredible. I was an ambitious DIY bride - I did all the flowers, centerpieces, decorations, etc. myself and I was worried things wouldn't be set up the way I had pictured. I should have known better because Amy is AMAZING. When she brought me down to see everything all set up, I was moved to tears. Everything was absolutely perfect. I barely gave her any instruction and she knew exactly what to do... she is truly talented! She made sure everything ran smoothly and I never once felt stressed out.
The food was outstanding. We chose NY Strip Steak and Seafood Stuffed Haddock... the steaks were huge and the haddock was done perfectly. Our guests were shocked that wedding food could taste so good!
What really surprised us was the service we received from everyone at the Union Bluff. Bartenders, wait staff, housekeeping, front desk staff... everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We had a bunch of our guests spend the weekend and everyone we talked to was blown away by the beauty of the hotel and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Words can't describe how incredible the Union Bluff was. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and the Union Bluff is a huge reason why. Thank you to Amy and everyone else for such a wonderful day!
I grew up spending summers on Short Sands in York, Maine, so the Union Bluff was always on the “short list” of venues should I ever get married. The beautiful location speaks for itself. What made our wedding at Union Bluff so special were Darlene Yankura and her staff at the Meeting House. Darlene is a true professional. She knows wedding planning inside and out. She was very easy to work with, responded promptly to all communications, and had fabulous suggestions throughout the course of the planning process (for timeline, for aesthetics, and for budget). Her staff was also wonderful in helping me plan an after-party at the hotel and a brunch the following morning. If you are looking to get married in Southern Maine, I would recommend the Union Bluff Meeting House.
Union Blue Meeting House was absolutely amazing, it is the best most magical place to have a wedding. We could not even have asked for a better location, and staff to work with at the Meeting House. Thanks Genna, you guys are amazing!
I can't say enough great things about Darlene and the staff at Union Bluff. They help guide you while still making your vision a reality. We were a very low key couple and not that into the whole wedding planning process. Darlene and team not only respected that but when I asked for her expert opinion she offered it in a way that never felt overbearing. Our friends and family were impressed not only with the facility, but the food and the service. Every member of the waitstaff, maintenance staff as well as the event staff were professional, helpful, kind and wonderful to work with. There's a reason they have "Hall of Fame" status with The Knot. This venue was simply the best, and the backdrop isn't bad either :).
My husband and I got engaged August of 2016 and had a family vacation two weeks later in York. At the time I was an event coordinator in Boston which meant my planning mode went into high gear and I snuck in a few venue tours mid-week of our vaca. The second we stepped foot at Union Bluff my heart dropped. Now we just had to sell the groom! We met with our planner Amy who explained all of the packages, ceremony options, and reception. Our guest count was around 135 and everyone was coming from Massachusetts. The moment we saw the menu I knew my husband would approve ! We splurged and did the platinum package which included cake dj valet and so much more......we adored every single vendor Amy recommended. I cannot rave enough about this woman. Throughout the engagement my husband and I bought a home had a child and I transitioned from city event coordinator t
