We just had our wedding at The Union and it was wonderful! It was everything I had imagined and more. The venue itself is so gorgeous it really doesn't need much to decorate it. We wanted an industrial, romantic vibe and this place gave us that....
Pros:
- They offer an in house coordinator for an additional cost, or worked in with the cost of the venue - definitely get coordination because Morgan is the absolute best! She kept me sane through everything, worked with all the vendors for me, coordinated everything before and during the wedding, made sure my husband and I were always happy and taken care of. I mean she was amazing! She took my vision and brought it to life. She thinks of things to add little touches to everything. I would say something and her response was always, already took care of it. She's been in the business for a long time and gets shit done. Which is exactly what any bride needs on their big day.
- The venue is huge with technically 4 floors. Highly recommend getting married on one floor and reception on the other. It was simple, no room flip and was seamless for guests.
- Bridal Suite is beautiful and we got ready there all day. It was perfect being so close to everything downtown as well. We had food delivered and enjoyed spending the time there in case anything was needed from me.
The staff they hired for the event were awesome. They knew any and all drinks. Made sure Danny and I were always happy, came and checked on us brought us drinks. They were awesome!
- You can bring all your own vendors, BYOB packages that will honestly save you thousands - seriously do this!
- 24 hour rental which is incredible, we stayed until 2 a.m., did last call at 1 a.m. and all of our guests loved that!
Cons:
- The roof was supposed to be done long before our wedding and unfortunately due to city permits it wasn't. We were incredibly disappointed in that, after all it was the main reason we booked the venue. BUT they worked with us on making it right and took care of part of the bar package and threw in a photo booth. Once the roof is complete, be prepared for this venue to never be available because the view up there is gorgeous and not many venues down there will have something like that.
- Speakeasy basement - we paid extra for this feature and I was really hoping it would be more than it was. It was supposed to have a full built in bar, we ended up with a table and table cloth - not what we were thinking, but it was functional and worked out for the night.
I was a very chill relaxed bride, but extremely organized and knew what I wanted. Honestly, there are slight cons above, but I wouldn't of changed a thing. Our wedding was incredible, we partied until 2 a.m. and it was an absolute blast! Our guests loved everything and there were literally no complaints from anyone. It was a night I'll remember forever and the perfect start to our forever.
