Andrea is well meaning and truly does care about her work and her clients. Although, things on my wedding day did not go as expected.
There were a few issues with the quality of services that one of Andrea's team members provided. This team me...mber was providing hair services. Of four of my guests that had issues, three provided pictures of what they were looking for and it was apparent to me that this team member did not have the necessary skills to provide hair services. The requests were simple - lose curls. On each occasion the girls ended up with very tight curls, that were a completely different style. In addition, I watched this team member provide services to my step mother who simply wanted her hair straightened and flipped at the end. I had to intervene because there were crinkles in the flips as the hair stylist was not smoothly flipping her hair with the straightener. These issues caused a lot of unnecessary stress.
In addition, the artists began to leave before everyone was done. Andrea was maybe the third to head out. At some point, Andrea mentioned that she couldn't take business from the other girls. Aka they were promised a specific number of services and payment. First and foremost, the priority should be completing all of the services within the allotted timeframe. We had quite a few hair and make up services left and we were down to a few artists and my getting ready photos were to begin shortly. This was incredibly stressful. I called Andrea a number of times to beg that she come back or send someone else. She said it would take her too long to get back and she was sending another artist. That artist was also about an hour away and we ended up wrapping up by then. To make matters worse, it seemed that some of the more skilled artists were the ones that had left.
Furthermore, the day of, I found out that only Andrea and one other artist were doing air brush. This should have been disclosed to me prior to, as it caused a back up in the flow of services. I believe we had about 30 individuals getting their make up done. Andrea told me that this was a product of not being able to find artists that would complete air brush at the agreed to price. I thought this response was really inappropriate. Although I tried to be sympathetic to her position, I am the customer, and I didn't feel like it was appropriate for me to feel bad about the price we had agreed to.
Lastly, I was completely floored when I asked one of the artists to complete my hair touch ups. She told me that someone had called out from the salon and that it was supposed to be her day off and she had to go in. It was apparent that she was rushing through hair and trying to get out as quickly as possible. I happened to catch her while she was eating lunch right before she left and asked again if she could please touch up my hair. Again, it was apparent to me that she was frustrated I had asked again. But regardless, she took her unplugged curling iron and touched up a few pieces in a few minutes. I am still completely upset about this because of how my hair looked. It is flat, not curled, with pieces that are completely straight. It didn't look anything like the trial. I didn't have any time to recurl my hair, so that is how I looked walking down the aisle, during my grand entrance, during my first dance etc. Unfortunately, everyone's hair was basically flat by the ceremony. Again, a complete embarrassment for me as my friends and family were unhappy.
