Jonathan and the staff at the University Club went above and beyond to make sure our wedding happened safely (and happened at all!) in November. We had to change the date once and the guest count twice, but they were so accommodating and reassuring. During the planning, my family and I really felt that Jonathan had our best interest in mind, that he would do everything he could to give us the day we imagined. The week of the wedding, the weather forecast said rain and we were able to come up with a backup plan (that we eventually followed) during the rehearsal. Things went super smoothly on the day, even though they had to move the dinner tables indoors after the ceremony to accommodate the rain. On top of that, the venue itself is so gorgeous and the food is DELICIOUS. We also got really nice photos at City Hall and in the church nearby. If I had to do this day again, I would definitely choose the University Club. Absolutely fantastic service.
Had our wedding here in November, the entire staff was so helpful and accommodating the entire process! The day went smoothly and everything looked beautiful!
We had our wedding reception at the University Club of Pasadena on March 7, 2019. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and to dance the night away after our church ceremony. Kelli was very nice and friendly, and answered all of our questions. Jonathan, who came into the process closer to the day made sure we were happy and that everything ran smoothly that night. I fell in love with this venue when I first walked in with the beautiful wooden beams and the 3 gold chandeliers in the main dining room. I kept the details nice and simple and it looked amazing. The food was delicious and all of our guests were pleased. Our guests also enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres that were served during the cocktail hour. I also was happy that I had a place to get ready all morning with my friends before the church ceremony and my husband was also able to get ready on a different floor. All the other staff were also super nice to us.
The University Club was wonderful for my July 2016 wedding. The ceremony was outside on the covered patio, and the cocktail hour and reception were inside. It was so helpful to have everything in one site, and the coordinator, Jonathan, was so communicative with me in advance (which helped because I was planning the wedding from the other coast!) The size of the venue fet perfect for my under 100 person wedding, but it could have easily accommodated up to 200 people. The chef, Ali, was great; everyone raved about the butternut squash ravioli and the chicken piccata! I would definitely recommend this site for anyone looking for a budget friendly, one site wedding. I would do it over all the same again!
Very professional!
The University Club of Pasadena is a hidden gem for weddings in Los Angeles! After looking at many venues across LA that felt like overpriced wedding factories, we were excited to find a place that felt unique and inviting. It's a beautiful venue that offers flexibility and is budget friendly. The Club looks nice in photos, but in person you'll be blown away by it's historic charm. It's located in Old Town Pasadena, near City Hall which we used as a location for wedding photos. This place checked all the boxes for what we wanted from our wedding. We wanted 1 location for the ceremony and reception, which the club delivered. We had an outdoor ceremony on the covered patio with the fountain because we married in July. The reception space is large; we seated 140 guest comfortably plus a large dance floor. A plus when we contracted in January 2015 was no difference in price for booking a Saturday versus a Friday or Sunday like most other venues. I don't recall a minimum charge being required when we booked, or if there was it was relatively low that we didn't notice. They host 1 event per day, no worries about sharing your space which includes a ceremony site, reception hall, brides room, and grooms room. There are other rooms to explore and use for photo opps or childcare (which we did and our guest loved). Also included was valet for all guest and the choice of Chiavari chairs, at no extra cost! This place seemed too good to be true. The food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS made by their in-house Chef Ali, who is very talented and guest raved about how great dinner tasted. Staff responds to emails and calls promptly and servers working our wedding were all very polite and nice. They were flexible with our needs and request which was so helpful with planning. There is a Westin hotel across the street where we and our guest stayed, you can walk across the street if you don't want to drive. The University Club of Pasadena is top notch, and we are so happy we got married here.
The chef at the UCP was very flexible and easy to work with. The food was delicious and the wine selection was very appropriate for the occasion.
We were looking for a garden type setting with a back up option of an indoor setting in case it rained on our April wedding day. The University Club of Pasadena has this great indoor/outdoor garden area that is great for a ceremony site. We loved it immediately and booked it. They also can do receptions there as well but we had already booked our reception elsewhere. Overall their service was great, communication with them was easy and managed in a timely manner. Overall we were very happy with how it looked and the service provided.
I liked that that we had the venue all to ourselves and that there were pretty, comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to enjoy. It was reasonably priced and in a fun area. The manager provided day-of coordination, which was unexpected and very helpful.;In months leading up to the wedding, it was very difficult to get phone calls returned from the venue - so much so that I considered going with another.
