People really liked the venue and my guests all commented on how it was a hidden gem and really liked it. It had a beautiful chapel and the terrace was amazing particularly during sunset. It is definitely not a full service venue (although they give you a bunch of vendor options) so you will have to do a lot of heavy lifting for prep yourself and lighting the place can be a bit pricey so add $2K for that cost. That being said being able to bring your own vendors allows you to keep the cost down overall and control the quality of everything you want compared to many other bay area options. Generally, they were good to work with but can be a bit slow to respond as the team is a bit short staffed. This place is great if you want to customize a lot of the components of your wedding and get exactly what you want for each piece. The place was good for pictures overall and easily accessible from the city.

This venue is drop dead gorgeous! Our ceremony was outdoors on Geneva Terrace and our reception was indoors at Alexander Hall. Geneva Terrace has a beautiful view of Mt. Tam and Alexander Hall was a wonderful indoor/outdoor reception option. Ashley (and all of the staff) was amazing with answering all of our, and our family’s, questions about everything, and very flexible on working with us to make sure everything was perfect. They do provide a preferred list of caterers and other vendors, which was easy to choose from, and we brought in our own DJ. There are also two AirBnBs from Redlands that are less than a 5 minute walk from the venue, one being right next to Alexander Hall. We rented one for our wedding party for the weekend and it was just what we needed. Close by, large space, and beautifully furnished. We had a great time and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful venue!

This venue was stunning. the terrace to me is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding. you need very little decoration here. Ashley, Jeremiah, and Lucas all go above and beyond for the weddings and are kind the entire time. I would recommend this to anyone. the only drawback is that there are a lot of restrictions out of their control (music off 9:30, extra fees for vendors due to stairs, only certain caterers, no obvious kitchen area nearby) so that is something you definitely want to consider before booking. there will be extra fees if on terrace. it was well worth it to us though!

We had our wedding in the Stewart Chapel and reception on the Geneva Terrace. This is an incredibly beautiful venue and our guests loved taking photos of themselves with mountains and castles in the background. We were so happy with our wedding experience - the venue coordinator, Debby, is extremely helpful, professional, down-to-earth, and very willing to share advice with you about how to use the space to its best advantage. The day of the wedding turned out to be a massive heatwave, and our reception was outside, so we were concerned about managing everything, but Debby did everything she could to help keep guests and vendors comfortable.

SFTS is in a beautiful setting, but do check it out in person before you book. The building and facilities show their age a bit, but you can't beat the beautiful views of Mt Tam. The Geneva Terrace worked perfectly for our ceremony and reception for 85 people. The venue is a bit tricky for your vendors given the lack of kitchen on site and the location being on top of a hill. Also, it can be quite hot up on the terrace and there is no escaping the sun... market umbrellas are a must. SFTS staff were great to work with, but be clear that you are working with conference services at a seminary, not your traditional wedding industry pros.

This place is the ultimate wedding venue. Unique and very well priced. If you have the reception on the terrace, you need to put very little into decorations as the scenery is amazing! I recommend that anyone wanting to get married in the bay area check this out for your wedding. They have a great 6 bedroom guest house on the property that we rented as well for us and the bridal party to stay. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner at the house rather than going out to a restaurant. I cannot say enough good things!

My husband and I were recently married at SFTS. We had our ceremony in the Stewart Chapel and our reception on the Geneva Terrace. Our guests were absolutely blown away by the gorgeous view. Many described the place, saying this is like a fairy tale, or like in a movie, and that is exactly how it felt. It is private, you are surrounded by castle like architecture, and will watch the sun set behind the Marin hills for dinner and dance under the stars afterwords.
We worked with Debby and Kristen, who were both super sweet and helpful. A few people on yelp complained about the noise restrictions, but we did not see a problem with this. Our DJ was able to rock out at a normal decibel.
We also rented the Shaw guest house which is on the campus. This is a perfect place to get ready and/or host a dinner or brunch with friends and family.
The only downfall is that you have to leave at 9:30pm, but we suggest you just start the party earlier and then move the party to a nearby bar.

The SF Theological Seminary allowed us to use any officiant we wanted and they have a beautiful pip organ in one of their chapels. The organ sounded beautiful. The view from the terrace is amazing. We got lots of compliments on how beautiful it was.
