Hi! I'm Jenna Koeller, Owner of Up North Events. I have been in the wedding and hospitality industry for over 10 years. I consider myself SO lucky to have found work that I am incredibly passionate about. I love being involved in one of the most monumental days in the lives of our couples. My favorite parts of weddings are all the little details that make each one unique to the couple, whether it be family heirlooms, homemade wedding favors, cultural influences, or small touches that reflect their hobbies and lifestyles.

Choosing Up North Events for wedding planning services was single handedly the best decision we made for our Northern Michigan Wedding this past Fall.
Jenna, Shelby, and their amazing team made sure everything was done to perfection. From contacting vendors in advance, to helping with flower delivery and photo frames set-up, not a single item was overlooked.
The team is communicative, kind, professional, and incredibly good at their job. I would recommend Up North Events to everyone over and over.

In the busy weeks since our wedding (really - how does time fly so fast?), one thing that we keep coming back to is how thankful we are that we had you! It was such a help to have you to bounce questions off of in the year of planning, have your support in the week/days leading up, and most especially on the day of our wedding. I knew that we were in great hands! Thank you for everything you and the team did to make the ceremony and reception so beautiful and to make sure everything ran so smoothly (when working with "Skornia-time", that is quite a feat!). Not only were you and your team so organized and professional, but you really "got" us and matched our vibe completely.
Lastly - I'm sure that every wedding has its hiccups, but I hope very few have an ambulance part way through. I want to thank you especially for all you did to make sure that the wedding part was taken care of so that my family could fully focus on the important part - family.

I can't say enough good things about Jenna! She is so well organized and on top of every detail - even the ones that hadn't even remotely crossed our minds. She is also a very calming presence which is good energy to have when it comes to a wedding! Her and her team went above and beyond to step in and resolve issues on the wedding day itself. My now husband and I both felt like we had nothing to worry about and be fully present to attend and enjoy our wedding! Best money we spent by far.

Jenna and her team were amazing. Jenna had such a personal touch and was so warm and kind to work with. We loved her attention to detail and how easily she understood our vision. She did an amazing job with the heavy lifting and having some of the harder conversations with our vendors we didn't have time for. She was also fantastic in coordinating all of the day of details and making sure things stayed on track.
Do not look for anyone else, the team at Up North Events is your go to. Your one stop shop. Your all stars and heroes. I would recommend them one million times out of ten. You are in amazing hands and will be well taken care of by this team.

The Up North team was critical to the success of our wedding. We planned a Northern Michigan wedding from Denver, so it was important to me to have a team we trusted. We had a ceremony and reception in 2 locations, so Up North supported in all the logistics and organization. They think of EVERYTHING, and it was so special that my family, husband and I could focus on the special moments.
From the first meeting with Jenna until the final wrap-up, Up North was enthusiastic, reliable and truly a pleasure to work with. I would recommend their incredible services to any couple!

Jenna and her team at Up North Events did an exceptional job ensuring that our event ran smoothly. My only regret is that we did not hire Up North Events for our entire wedding planning season when our event grew in size! Jenna untangled every detail that was in place, making sure that our vendors were organized and taken care of which was very important to us. The week that her services kicked in was the most encouraging time because I felt so much more supported. Our ceremony rehearsal was a fun experience, Jenna and her team organized that portion of our wedding day to every detail and our family and friends commented on how well organized our ceremony rehearsal was.It is worth mentioning that Jenna is so beautifully patient which is such a helpful characteristic during such a stressful time! I felt confident in handing all of the details off to Up North Events and we had a wonderful, memorable wedding.

Shelby was absolutely incredible. She tied everything together, from coordinating with other vendors to decorating and tear down. We had nothing to worry about with her involvement. I originally hired Jenna for just decorating/clean up, but then when I realized everything that she does for the day-of coordination package, I knew I had to have her there for the whole day. I was able to rent some of her wedding items, which was amazing because I was flying to my wedding, and we emailed and spoke on the phone about my wedding details.
On the wedding weekend, she ran our rehearsal, finalized details with all of my vendors, and made sure everything was perfect and running on time on the wedding day.
I would recommend Jenna as a planner or coordinator to anyone - she was warm, organized, friendly, and was able to keep everything moving at the wedding when I was greeting guests/dancing, etc.
If you are on the fence about having a planner/coordinator, do it! Jenna did so many things that I don't even know who would have done these things...she put the cake plate out for our cake cutting, had our marriage license ready to sign with a pen, moved our guests to cocktail hour, signaled for the music to start when I walked down the aisle, and I am sure about a million other things that I didn't even notice. I cannot thank her enough.

Jenna and her team were a blessing. Everything we anticipated and even the things we didn’t, were taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a more attentive, attention to detail and no worries experience. Our ceremony and reception locations were both well taken care of. The day went smoothly. Jenna was absolutely amazing! About two months before our wedding we decided to reschedule our Chicago wedding (where we live) to Bellaire, MI (at a family home) due to coronavirus. We were stressed about switching our plans so close to the wedding date, especially to an area where we knew very little about the local vendors. From our initial call, it was clear Jenna was the woman for the job. She was able to fit her services to our needs and budget and found several vendors that were still available on short notice AND within our budget. She responded quickly to our questions, provided updates during her search, and gave detailed overviews on the vendors to help us choose our best fit. We would have been lost without Jenna's help. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Jenna was a perfect fit for our daughter's planned lakeside cottage wedding ceremony and reception that ended up much smaller due to Covid concerns. She is a positive, calm, and professional communicator, who blended in with our family members and other vendors with grace and ease. She has a gentle style with a keen focus on detail. What was most helpful to us was her ability "on the fly" to contact all the vendors the night before the wedding to move up our ceremony and wedding dinner by an hour, and it all came off perfectly.

Having Jenna at up north events be my day of coordinator was the absolute best choice I made during wedding planning. I had no idea how important it was to have a wedding planner, I originally did not plan on having any one. I was under the impression that I could plan my wedding myself and family/friends would be there the day of to help out. However, on your wedding day and days leading up everything is complete chaos and having someone there who’s only job is to help you with whatever detail needs attending to is a complete must. There’s absolutely no way my wedding would have run smoothly without her help. She was extremely organized, had all my details written down, and was there from start to finish. I had an outdoor ceremony and it stormed just as we were about to walk down the isle. Only 45 minutes later the rain stopped and Jenna had every chair dried and guests back in there sheets and I still had my dream wedding. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

We hired Jenna to coordinate our rehearsal dinner and wedding day at Shanahan's Barn and I could not have been happier with her services. Her attention to detail, organization skills, leadership and ability to keep everything and everyone on track was outstanding! She was there to bounce ideas off when I was feeling stuck and even went above and beyond and helped donate all my florals to the local retirement community near by! My husband and I were paying for our own wedding and we were struggling to find a venue that we loved, but was also affordable. We are eternally grateful for having found Jenna- without whom, our dream of an up north waterfront wedding likely would have never happened. Our ceremony and reception at Sommerset Pointe Yacht Club was incredibly beautiful and intimate, and Jenna helped us make it all happen. Jenna Koeller was our wedding coordinator at Castle Farms in 2013 and she was absolutely amazing! We were planning the wedding from about 5 hours away and she was very quick to respond and always kept us in the loop as to what was going on. The day of the wedding she was everywhere, constantly making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and taking care of any request we could possibly come up with.
