Hanni
Chief Operations Officer
Hi, my name is Hanni and I am the Chief Operations Officer for our parent company, Culinary Infusion. After living in Seattle and Tampa, I relocated back to Wisconsin when my family was transitioning from a catering company into venue owners. I have been a part of the planning and design for every detail of our three venues —- Circa on Seventh, The Covenant at Murray Mansion, and Upper East.
I’m an entrepreneur at heart —– both of my parents and grandparents were self-employed, so that’s all that I knew growing up. I’ve been working in the wedding industry on and off for over 20 years (my first job was working waitstaff at a golf course venue), and absolutely love everything about it. This industry is ever changing, so our creative muscles are always being flexed, and the relationships that are made last well beyond wedding day.
When I’m not working, my four kiddos (Adelaide, Carson, and our identical twins Molly and Gwen) keep me very busy! If there’s any free time left in there, you can definitely find me listening to a podcast, playing in the garden, or hanging out on the pier at our family’s lakehouse.

It took me awhile to write this review as I had so many wonderful things to say, I had to get them organized in my head.
When my Fiancé and I began our wedding venue search we became overwhelmed because nothing seemed to match what we were looking for. We decided to take a break before beginning our search again. Which led us to Upper East. The moment we stepped foot in the doors we knew this was the venue for us. From the elegant bridal suite to the open, bright, breathtaking wedding space we were captivated.
What we did not know at that moment was the wonderful staff we would meet along the way. Hanni began our journey with us and immediately made us feel special, understood and welcomed. Kendall was our Day of Coordinator and she was wonderful. She calmed my nerves leading up to the wedding and the day of. She executed our vision perfectly. Kendall was helpful, communicative and kind through our wedding day. She helped us navigate our timeline and made all the guests feel welcomed
The part I loved the most about Upper East was the onsite catering. The food was top quality. We have gotten so many compliments about the food, and the lovely bartenders.
Our guest loved our venue and loved that everything was in one space.
This all inclusive venue is the way to go. They take away your wedding stress and make the day all about you. I would get married over and over again at Upper East.

Highly recommend Upper East. The venue is gorgeous and versatile, staff is amazing, and food is delicious. Our coordinator Katie was so helpful through the entire process. They truly make the day so easy and enjoyable for the bride, groom & guests.

Everything from start to finish was so well thought out. We couldn't have asked for a smoother wedding venue - so much help along the way, and the day of was such a breeze! We got so many compliments on the venue and staff. They truly cared about all the fine details.

If I could give Upper East more than 5 stars, I would! This is a dream of a wedding venue – from the day we went tour through the wedding & after, we were in great hands.
We fell in love with the space for the location & how gorgeous it is. The venue space itself is gorgeous on its own, but also serves as a blank slate to make any vision for your wedding come to life. It was perfect for the bright & bold colors we chose!
Upper East has several packages that work with budgets, which was helpful when determining what was most important to us for the day. One of the things that sold us on Upper East is that they are an “all inclusive” venue! Having our wedding there made our planning process so much easier. Catering is included in the package, which was a huge weight off our shoulders. The food is incredible! We had several guests tell us after the wedding how wonderful the food was (some even said it was the best food they’ve had at a wedding).
Upper East has many different decorations and upgrades for rent and seemingly endless options for linens – all to match virtually any theme you’re going for! We especially loved how the gold cutlery elevated our tablescape! Our package came with a photo booth (ALWAYS a hit) and we rented a couch seating area from the venue, which our guests loved!
We worked mainly with Hanni, who was incredible to work with! We never felt pressured to pick a certain package, rent decorations, or add any upgrades or add-ons. She is very knowledgeable and has a creative eye, which was helpful when deciding color schemes for linens and decorations and just getting another opinion on the overall vision.
Two of our favorite things, which we think really sets Upper East & their sister venues apart for the rest of the wedding industry, were the events they threw for couples getting married with them. The first event we went to was a menu tasting event. I can’t even describe how incredible this was! The venue was decorated as if there was going to be a wedding and they invited all couples getting married at any of their venues during a certain time period. A sampling of their menu was brought out in different courses – appetizers, salads, sides, main courses (including vegan/vegetarian – and signature cocktails were available to try. It was such a fun and unique tasting experience!
The other event was a color day where Upper East pulled linens/table accessories we discussed at an earlier meeting and set up a table for us to preview. We were then able to move things around, place our own decorations, and come up with what we wanted our tablescape to be. This was SO helpful in seeing our vision come to life.
Hanni & the rest of the staff were incredible to work with from start to finish. I truly believe our wedding day would not have been what it was if we did not choose Upper East. Having experienced staff available at the venue for any & all questions was extremely helpful. The passion they have shines through. The amount of attention & detail on us throughout the whole planning process made us feel like we were their only clients – even though they are having multiple weddings a weekend! We felt very special and are so glad we chose this venue. We’ll recommend Upper East & Culinary Infusion to everyone we know! I wish we could do it all over!

Hanni and her team went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect! She even got chick-fil-a for the bridal party and I when we accidentally forgot our snacks for getting ready pre-ceremony. All of our guests raved about the venue, food and service. We can’t recommend this venue and team enough!

My husband and I had a great experience with Upper East for our wedding! The day went very smoothly and it was so helpful that the staff set everything up and took everything down with the decor. It took a lot off us and our family's plates and picking up all the decor after the fact was very smooth and easy. The staff went above and beyond helping make the night very special to us and all of our guests. We've heard nothing but positive remarks about the reception from our guests including how amazing everything looked to how great the food was.

We recently had our wedding at Upper East and it was better than we could have ever expected. Not only is the venue absolutely gorgeous, the staff is phenomenal, the food is delicious, and they made sure our day was pure perfection.
Hanni was our day of coordinator and she was so accommodating during the whole entire process. Any questions or concerns I had were answered promptly. They really did make the whole entire process stress-free.
Our guests have said over and over again that they have never had wedding food that was so delicious and service that was so great! I would 100% recommend Upper East to anyone!

We loved hosting our wedding reception at Upper East. Our guests RAVED about the food (and still ask us about the mashed potatoes!) and having Katie there on the day of the wedding helped relieve so much stress. Even leading up to the day they were always available for any weird question I threw at them or last-minute request to show someone the space. They were also AMAZING with food allergies. I can't eat onions or garlic which can be such a pain, but all I had to do was submit any dietary restrictions with our dinner choices and had no problems on the day of. I had my own salad dressing, and my entree didn't have the shallot sauce that would've made me feel sick the rest of the night. They were so accommodating to all of our weird and wacky ideas and requests and the night was perfect!

We are so thankful to Upper East for making our wedding the best day ever! From how friendly our bartenders were, to how helpful our wedding coordinator was, to how delicious the food was, they put on a truly spectacular event. The venue alone is beautiful but the staff really made it a magical day. I am so lucky to have chosen this venue, you will not be disappointed!!!

We could not have been more thrilled we chose Upper East for our wedding venue. The staff were incredible all around. We worked with Kelsey to plan our details and both she and Katie coordinated for us the day of. Everything went perfectly as they put our minds at ease by taking on our stress. The venue doesn’t need much decor at all because it is so naturally beautiful, our guests loved it! Food and drinks were both great and definitely worth the cost. The coordination of the entire day was set up so that we and our families could enjoy the day with minimal worries or ”to-do’s”. Our family and bridal party expressed to us how happy they were that they were able to enjoy the day instead of worrying about what came next. If I could rate 6 stars, I would 😊

This place was so good to us through the planning process. We booked about 2 years ahead of our date as the world was coming off all the covid craziness. I had seen them on social media prior to getting engaged and we booked after it being the only venue we toured. It is the perfect back drop to any theme or color palette. Let me tell you, they have it all! I worked closest with Kelsey and then Hanni and they were wonderful. Always available by email every step of the way through planning and sent reminders of when we needed to get together for detail meetings. I loved that I was able to do ceremony, reception, food/beverage, tables/chairs, linens, photobooth and even decor with them. It was so nice to have less outside vendors to coordinate. They throw an amazing tasting party where you get to sample a good portion of the menu items including drinks and meet other couples. The tier packages they have updated make it even easier to get an 'all inclusive' experience. (I also booked my bridal shower at Circa on Seventh and got some freebies for already having my wedding booked with them) Everyone I have run into since our wedding has RAVED about the food that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. We did custom cocktails that they special ordered ingredients for. As far as logistics, I was able to drop all my decor off the week of the wedding and did not have to pick up til the Monday after which was a HUGE RELIEF. The bridal suites are absolutely gorgeous and photograph well. There is not a spot for the guys to get ready but the staff had plenty of suggestions and partnerships with other close-by establishments. Also, my wedding was mid July and my dress was quite heavy so it did get hot on the dance floor even with AC. All in all, I would absolutely do it all over again. THANKS UPPER EAST/CULINARY INFUSIONS!!

Loved that you could do almost everything through the venue, they offer so many rental options. They are accommodating to any changes you needed and communication was very timely. Space was large and bartenders and wait staff were extremely nice. My wedding coordinator at Upper East - Katie was amazing & was great with every detail on the day!

Everyone tells you that no wedding is "perfect," but Upper East truly DOES make your day feel that way! I can't recommend the staff at Upper East enough - I was able to enjoy every single second of my wedding day as a bride without worrying about the details. Kelsey, the venue director, really makes it a point to know you and your goals for the day, and then she works with the staff to make it happen. Our guests still rave about our food and our wedding was months ago... the consensus is that the chicken and waffles were the biggest hit! If you're looking for a beautiful space, kind people and an opportunity to be the bride and groom you deserve to be, book Upper East.

Choosing Upper East for our wedding venue was the best decision that we made throughout the whole wedding planning process. We got married here in July and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, beautiful inside, amazing food and an incredible team of people working there. From the very beginning, the team went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. They worked with us to give us a dream wedding for the budget that we could manage, and they were open to new ideas, i.e., a big group picture outside the venue during the room flip and a welcome drink for escort cards. Everyone was kind, helpful, and professional. Our guests told us over and over that the food was amazing and that the waitstaff and bar tenders were incredible. Thank you to the Upper East Team! We would get married there again tomorrow if we could!! 10/10

We are so happy we had our wedding reception at Upper East. All parts of planning were smooth and their day of coordination was super helpful. All guests were super happy with their meals and we are so happy we utilized their in house pastry chef for our delicious and beautiful cake! Hanni was extremely helpful in making sure our vision truly came to life and that our day was seamless!
