As professionals we take pride in making sure we deliver a product and a service that will fill the need for our customers. With all the conversations we had on the phone, I'm surprised you looked to a platform to share your perspective on how certain elements were delivered on your special day. With your comments I felt strongly compelled to respond to share our approach as we are the professionals in what we do. Let’s address your comments: 1). There was no 12-year-old boy working your event. We had a young gentleman who was 15 working. He also is working as a professional under the supervision of his mother who is our catering lead. We pride ourselves on mentoring young men and women who display an eagerness to learn about and work in northern Michigan's bustling food and tourism industry. Teaching our young work ethics is extremely important. We have no intention of changing this direction. Secondly this young man truly applied himself that evening for you. There were even a couple of guests that appreciated all the effort that they even tipped him out $20 for doing such a great job. I would say that this 15-year-old boy made your day even more special. 2) Green beans: We use a fresh, snipped green bean tossed in olive oil, salt & pepper. I can tell you that this is a very common side dish that we prepare every week during the catering season. I personally cooked all the food for your event. Once again, we received many many many compliments on the food on your wedding day. Reading your comments and sharing your comments with my entire staff really caught them by surprise. 3). Let’s talk about the bar: Having a tip jar at the bar is standard practice in this industry. The only time a tip jar is not present is when a couple request one not be there, and they would in turn do a gratuity for the bar (keep in mind that is different from the food catering.) I can tell you with 100% confidence knowing my entire team that every single one of them comes with a set of strong values and integrity. Please understand and not assume: Our team is there because they choose to be there and share in the festivities of spending the first day of the couple as husband and wife. By the way it was the complete opposite. Our bartenders never ask for tips. Did you know that the fastest growing tip distribution at weddings is guests asking bartenders if they accept Venmo. Especially after your event, I received multiple requests from the team to create a couple of plaques saying we accept Venmo. Your comments on Venmo are completely untrue. 4). Water at the bar. After dinner water bottles are pulled from tables and our team will guide the guest to go to the bar for water. That is 100 true and this process was explained during the final stages of the planning process. Based on the fact that I even overstaffed your event and our crew worked extremely hard for your special day they can only do so much within a reasonable time. We made multiple requests to the event space to fill the containers. They were all filled in a reasonable manner as they too were working extremely hard to make your day special. In summary we supplied you with 5-star food and service. We are the professionals. We pride ourselves (as this is our livelihood) in taking care of our couples to the best of our abilities. As much as your comments were disappointing to say the least. I 100% stand behind our food & service and would not change a thing. A phone call to discuss would have been rewarding as we are always looking to make an event even greater than what it was. I am just very sad that this is supposed to be one of the greatest days of your life and posted a review without reaching out to have a conversation like you always did during the process.
