I admit I am a wedding planner’s nightmare: I expect the best, am budget-conscious to a fault, and suspect the worst. We had the chance to work with Jessica for our wedding in February and I could not recommend working with her more fervently!
As someone who had moved away from Austin, I knew I needed a full-service planner with connections to vendors and a pulse on the evolving city. I had several recommendations from friends and was initially looking for someone with experience doing a south Asian fusion wedding. I reached out to Jessica on a whim, however, seeing her on a best-of list. After a short call, she was the obvious choice. She was grounded, perceptive, honest, and efficient.
After working together over a year, I can attest those initial impressions proved correct. Jessica was professional, thoughtful, and warm every step of the way. She remembered details so we didn’t have to and raised ideas not even on our radar. Ultimately, we were able to simply sit back and enjoy the day. We ran ahead of schedule! She even stayed after the wedding to ensure my elderly parents safely made it home.
Some unique areas Jessica was able to assist:
- Incorporating South Asian culture in food, music, hair / makeup, and decor. I was impressed by Jessica’s ability to lean into new vendors and new territory with ease. She personally designed a wedding aesthetic with Moroccan influence through florals, lighting, and signage. Jessica was able to transport guests “abroad” while actually in Austin hill country.
- Helping us plan remotely from NY and CA. From videoing us into venue visits and run-throughs to letting us ship items to her home address, Jessica made a destination wedding possible for two busy finance professionals.
- Rolling with the unexpected throughout the process. For example, a couple of months before our wedding, my videographer (an international duo who had done my friends’ wedding) had their visas denied. Within a couple of weeks, we evaluated new options and came to a resolution - a new onsite team with the original duo still doing the editing. A week before the wedding, our shuttle vendor claimed they could no longer pick up at our hotel block due to construction. Jessica personally drove to the hotel to create/test a backup plan. On the day-of, we ran low on tequila just 45 minutes into cocktail hour - Jessica thought on her feet and had her assistant pick up more at the grocery store to save the day. Best of all, I didn’t find out until the next day.
- Things she thought of so we didn’t have to: ordering groceries and a speaker in the bridal suite, a welcome table complete with family photos and a guestbook, how to get a marriage certificate in Austin, packing our getaway car with food and the items we wanted at the end of the night, and compiling lay-flat items for our photos.
When people ask me about my wedding planning experience, the first thing I tell them is that we picked the world’s best planner. She was extremely responsive to feedback and our concerns. I simply wish I had another excuse to work with her.

I hired a day of wedding coordinator Stephanie. We just clicked super well and she got the vision I was seeking. I had majority of my planning done so I really only needed someone the day of to make the day go smoothly. If something went wrong, well she did her amazing job then because I felt like the day was perfect. She got sh*t done and efficiently and helped execute my vision for the day. I loved having her and was easy to communicate with.
I sincerely regret choosing Uptown Events partial planning services.
A few highlights if you don’t want to read the whole review-
-Difficult to get a hold of throughout the planning process
- We did not end up with the planner we chose
-When we had multiple issues on the wedding day with the venue our planner did not handle it at all
We initially chose our planner because she was recommended by the venue, but were pretty disappointed from the beginning. Emails went unanswered for weeks at a time, and monthly to-do lists and budget sheets that were promised were not delivered when they were supposed to be. The recommended planner ended up leaving wedding planning altogether, and we were reassigned to a planner with much less experience in the industry and who had never been to our venue.
On the actual day of the wedding, we spent most of the time wondering where our planner was and what we needed to be doing. It seemed like things the planner was supposed to handle just were not handled (the venue was one of the vendors she was in charge of communication with)- the building we were supposed to wait in after taking wedding party photos was not unlocked and ready for us and we had to wait outside in the heat. There was also an issue with the venue about when our getting ready room needed to be empty during the wedding. Our planner decided to handle this by pulling my sisters away to miss most of the reception to clean out the room. Ultimately we were able to leave our things in the room until the next morning because my brother-in-law (not the planner) spoke to the venue, but this was after our planner decided to speak to my matron of honor in a condescending, unprofessional, and unkind way.
If I could go back, I’d choose a different wedding planning company. Of course, you expect hiccups throughout the day, but I’m incredibly unhappy with how our planner handled them and treated my family.
Stephanie was a dream to work with for our wedding day. She was very responsive and always willing to lend a helping hand if I needed recommendations on details or styling. On our actual wedding day, everything went so smoothly and everyone was able to enjoy their time. My parents were so impressed with how discreet, attentive and helpful her team was throughout the entire process. She was incredible and made our day so stress free and easy. THANK YOU!
I was 100% not interested in hiring a coordinator, but my daughter's venue required at least a day of planner. We spoke with a few Event planners and settled on Uptown Events. Stephanie (with the the help of Annabelle) was our day of coordinator, and let me say...Best money spent! I handled most of the day of set up, but to know they were on it with our timeline, reaching out to vendors prior to make sure we were all set, to handling the ceremony flow, helping break down and clean up after and most importantly allowing me to get dressed and enjoy the evening. Best of luck to all couples and definitely consider Uptown Events for your day of! Cheers!
We hired Jessica as our full service wedding planner and let me just say, this was 100% the best decision we made for our wedding!!! As an event planner myself, I know how crazy it can get with all of the smallest details. But Jessica's strength is organization. She had every spreadsheet tracker (e.g. budget, timeline, items list with literally every item that was being brought onsite, etc.) that gave me peace that every detail was thought through. She did a great job breaking down the planning process into bite sized pieces so I could focus on a smaller check list of items to do every month. You just got to trust her process. Even when she went on maternity leave, she thought of everything and the planning continued with the rest of the Uptown team. Not to mention, the ceremony rehearsal was, as one of my bridesmaids said, "the most comprehensive and helpful rehearsals I've ever attended".
The wedding day itself was AMAZING. Jessica made our vision come to life from design to guest experience. We're now a month out and I have heard numerous times how that was the smoothest / best run / most beautiful they have ever been to. Thank you, Jessica, for helping us celebrate with our most loved people. We got to share such a special moment with our community and treat them to an incredible time. What a blessing!
Lastly, Jessica offers complimentary honeymoon planning for her couples!!!! Unheard of. Another thing you don't want to frantically figure out while wedding planning! I would talk about how amazing my honeymoon was, but that's a separate review :) Check out J Upton Travel!
I used Uptown Events for their month of services and I could not have been happier with my team--Jamie and Stephanie! Jamie was my lead planner and was incredible--she was responsive, so organized and made the day seamless! I could not have done it without this team!!
Jessica had to be the hands down the best decision that we made for our wedding. We couldn’t have gone through selecting vendors, making a budget, designing the wedding and coordinating every single detail without her. She helped alleviate any stress that we had. Could not recommend Uptown Events enough!
Jessica planned our April 2022 wedding weekend and thanks to her talents at this job and her hard work it was a huge success. We did a full service planning package and were so grateful to have Jessica at our side the entire planning process for all 3 of our wedding events. She was organized and kept us on schedule with addressing the right stages of planning at the right times. The vendors she recommended were all spectacular. It was so helpful to have her present a short list of vendors for every category based on our criteria, and all we had to do was choose, rather than doing a ton of research into reviews and interviewing them about every bit of minutia. We got to make the wedding our own and Jessica took handling all the small details off our plate. We also don’t have an eye for design so Jessica really stepped in to help with communication with the florist and paper goods provider to help articulate what we wanted.
Jessica’s experience really shone through in the schedule she created for the wedding weekend, which flowed excellently and allowed for all the pictures and specific wedding moments at the right times. Also, her recommendations for small details such as chairs with arms to lift us in for the hora made a huge difference.
The day itself was expertly coordinated by Jessica and her assistant, to the point where we had guests tell us what a good coordinator we had and how well the event was planned.

If you’re planning a wedding - stop what you’re doing and call Uptown! I personally worked with Jamie who organized pure magic. I originally wanted a black and white wedding and she didn’t blink twice when I did a complete 180 for a French garden party!! Their relationships with other vendors and recommendations based off your goals, made planning so simple. I chose to add their design services and their mood board made working with these vendors so much easier to create a cohesive event. Everyone asked me the week of and day of the wedding if I was stressed and I wasn’t even once! I knew Jamie and Annabelle had everything under control and the day couldn’t have gone better.
Jessica and Uptown Events were incredible throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. I cannot recommend them enough! Their expertise and commitment to excellence made the wedding planning process so smooth and fun. There were definitely some challenging aspects to our wedding (multiple venues, transportation limitations, etc.), and Jessica took the time to make sure every detail was considered and ironed out. On our wedding day, Jessica and her team were INCREDIBLE. The whole entire day was so smooth, and so many of our vendors and guests commented that it was the most well-organized wedding they had ever been part of... and I attribute that entirely to Jessica and Uptown Events! From the very beginning, I felt that Jessica understood our vision for our wedding day and was committed to making it happen. She also shielded me from knowing about any issues that popped up on the wedding day. She took it upon herself to handle it all without mentioning it to us, which I truly appreciated! It made our wedding day joyful and stress-free. Hiring Jessica and her team to coordinate our wedding was truly the best decision we made. They relieved all the wedding stress and anxiety so we could just enjoy every moment! I can't recommend them enough!
Jamie was incredible on the day of our wedding. She planned and coordinated all of the vendors and made sure our wedding was set up on time. She managed the flip of the room from ceremony to reception flawlessly and whenever I had an issue or question about a vendor, she took care of it right away. Her attitude and bubbly personality are exactly right for a wedding planner. Thank you Uptown team for making our wedding exactly how we envisioned it!!
Jessica helped us coordinate our destination wedding in Dominican Republic this year. She helped with anything from contracting the room block, room and flight reservations, transportation, the day of coordination and the wedding design.
I can honestly say we wouldn't make it without her. We had no idea where to start but Jessica was always there to guide us. We had 80 guests from 2 continents so you can imagine that planning a destination wedding of this size can be very stressful. Jessica however handled any issues like a pro and with ease. The end result was the most perfect day of our lives and a picture perfect wedding!
Jessica makes you feel like you are planning the wedding with a lifelong friend instead of a coordinator. I can't recommend her enough!
I cannot say enough good things about Uptown Events!!! We went with their partial planning package and Jamie made our day so special. She is absolutely INCREDIBLE! She kept everything on track throughout the wedding planning process and the wedding day. This allowed for us to genuinely enjoy our big day and not feel stressed about any of the details. Jamie was organized, knowledgeable, quick to respond, kind, and everything you could want in a planner!! We even had vendors compliment how great our planner was to work with and how on top of things she was! If you are searching for a planner, I highly highly recommend Uptown Events. Jamie was so great. I hired her to be my day of wedding planner and she made the entire process so stress free. She responded so quickly to my emails and had all the answers to my questions. On my actual wedding day, she had a timeline all typed out so that everyone knew where to be and when. Jamie was seriously amazing! She went above and beyond when planning our wedding. She was easy to communicate with and attentive to every detail. I cannot recommend Jamie enough! When asked what our favorite part of our wedding day was, without hesitation both my husband and I say "Jamie!" She made our wedding day stress free.
I cannot reccomend Jessica enough!! She was my right hand lady who not only got me through the uncertainty of planning a wedding during a pandemic but also turning the vision board into reality. Jessica was always easy to get ahold of and quick to respond with any one off questions. The day of the event her personality really shined! She was so organized, level headed, and communicated well to everyone who played a role in the wedding day. Jessica also helped with planning our honeymoon, once again highly reccomended leveraging her Uptown Travel service. When it came closer to wedding it became a bit more difficult to even manage the logistics of the honeymoon thankfully Jessica took on all of it!
I am so grateful for Jessica and the entire team at Uptown Events for helping my wedding run so smoothly! My wedding was this past November (during COVID) and I was very stressed about the pressures this added to my day. I could not have done it without Uptown Events! Jessica helped with all the details of the planning process- letting me be as hands on (or as hands off!) as I wanted to be. She truly listened to what I needed/wanted and was a perfect sounding board for every decision. I don't live in the Austin area so it was especially helpful to have her input on vendors to use. On the day of my wedding, I didn't have to worry about a thing! We also took advantage of their honeymoon travel planning, which was the icing on the cake. They helped us get great deals on our results and made our honeymoon extra special. Definitely recommend Jessica and her team for your big day -or trip!
We cannot imagine our wedding day without Jessica there to make sure it all ran smoothly. From our first meeting to the big day itself, Jessica was attentive, organized, and responsive to our many questions. We took advantage of the monthly email reminders she puts together and it helped keep us on track as we were planning the wedding. Even though she was our month-of coordinator she was willing to assist us with questions as we were going through the planning process months out from our date. She was very understanding when we needed to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic (less than three weeks from the wedding date!) and we were able to work with her to reschedule venue coordination walk-throughs and pre-wedding planning meetings.
During the big day we hardly knew she and her assistant were there; everything just worked. She assisted the other vendors in executing our enhanced COVID precautions and her team went out of their way to help make our guests feel safe and comfortable. She even helped me bustle my lovely bride’s dress! Just as dinner was being prepared to be served, she let us know that a storm was rolling in and about to pour rain over the reception. In less than 5 minutes, Jessica, her assistant, and the venue and catering teams moved all of the tables inside, reset the place settings, brought in the cake table and bar, and had ushered the guests into the cocktail hour building. They then began, with the help of our venue staff, to take guests one-by-one to the reception hall; our guests remarked later on how seamless everything felt. No one panicked, everyone stayed dry, and most importantly everyone was having a good time in spite of the rain thanks to Jessica’s quick thinking.
Uptown Events really came through for us and we would be happy to recommend them to future couples!
Could not have had such a great time at my wedding without Jessica and the Uptown Events team. Throughout my planning process Jessica went above and beyond everything I ever expected of her. She continued to amaze me with her dedication to my event. Along with her incredible organizational skills, quick response time, and knowledge about all things wedding - she is SO sweet! The day of our wedding I had FULL confidence and trust in her to make our day everything we wanted - and she delivered. No hiccups along the way (or if there were - I had no idea! And that's what every bride wants, right?!) I received several compliments from family, friends and vendors about how smooth our day ran. I also had a wonderful experience working with Jessica for my bachelorette party travel planning. She helped arrange accommodations, transportation and itineraries for THIRTEEN girls during our international getaway! Will recommend her to everyone. For everything. Forever. Jessica was the best decision and vendor I had as a bride to be. She made the entire process easy, not stressful and smooth. After interviewing many wedding coordinators, I came across Jessica and instantly felt relief. She recommended excellent vendors that met my budget, standards and needs. Jessica did an outstanding job as the coordinator for my son’s wedding last weekend. She is extremely professional, organized and detail oriented. Everything went so smoothly on the big day, thanks in no small part to her. She put together a very detailed timeline and made sure everything was on schedule throughout the event. She also did an incredible amount of work on the front end contacting and interacting with all vendors, as well as site visits to truly familiarize herself with the venue. She was very personable and easy to interact with. You can’t go wrong with Jessica as your coordinator and I highly recommend her.
I've had the pleasure of working with the Uptown Events Team professionally in the past and now Uptown Travel for my own honeymoon... I could not say enough great things about their amazing team! Jessica is so wonderful and helped us essentially plan 2 honeymoons, after our original plans were ruined by Hurricane Harvey. She is never short of knowledge, guidance and great ideas/suggestions. (Not to mention our resort was TO DIE FOR!)

Jessica and her team with Uptown Events know exactly what they are doing to pull off an amazing event! We hired Jessica for a month out coordination to help us with the overall timeline, items coordination, and managing the vendors. She did an amazing job taking it all off our plates completely! I was making last minute changes the week before the wedding and she was able to not skip a beat and get it figured out quickly and effectively taking all of my sometimes confusing feedback and making it a true reality! She gave awesome vendor recommendations. We was very accommodating with the timeline and flexible to meet our needs. She found me a last minute make up artist to help push the timeline back for the day of getting ready (we got to start at 10 AM instead of 8AM). On the day of, she was so smart to serve us dinner privately while the guests mingled at cocktail hour. It was not part of the original plan, but she saw the opportunity and made it happen! That way, we could spend the entire dinner greeting our guests. Her and her team constantly had a rose glass in my hand and a moscow mule glass in my hustands :) She made us think of every detail that we are so thankful for! Made sure we had a to-go bag of cake to eat at the hotel as well. It was a seamless event (and if there was anything- Jessica handled it because I have no idea!) with a huge thanks to Uptown Events.
Uptown Events was the best thing that could have happened to us in the wedding planning process. They came recommended by our photographer because the owner, Jessica, used be an event manager at the venue we chose. We had been discouraged in our planning process, because a lot of the vendors we had talked to weren't very familiar with our venue, so we were so excited to find Jessica and her team. And it only got better from there!
They put us at ease with their expertise and organization. I trusted them completely with my big day, and considering how much trouble I have delegating work, that's saying something! And they did not disappoint. Throughout the process, I truly felt like my wedding mattered to them, and they went above and beyond individualizing their process specifically to my wedding. For example, they enlisted day-of helpers who were familiar with my specific venue. I was blown away!
Morgan was my main planner throughout the process and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so pleasant to work with, and I got compliments from numerous family and guests who were so impressed with her composure and how she always had a smile on her face! Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she is meticulous about the details, which I appreciated greatly!
We also enlisted Jessica in planning our dream honeymoon in Greece. And it was exactly that--our dream honeymoon! She was so good with incorporating our feedback throughout the honeymoon planning process to tailor all our excursions and accommodations to fit our vision and budget.

Uptown Events was the best decision I made when planning my wedding! Morgan was the lead coordinator and she is AMAZING. When you need help being decisive Morgan is there! When you're planning your wedding and none of your family lives in Austin- Morgan gives you her true opinion with CONFIDENCE! Morgan's conviction really reassured me as I made decisions throughout the process and she steered me in the right direction when it came to details I had little knowledge on. In my everyday life I am somewhat nervous about handing over control and likewise for wedding planning! I only wish I would of given Morgan more control. She did a wonderful job getting to know me, my style and making my vision a reality. Because of Uptown Events I also found many of my other key vendors, which were all perfect choices! Hiring Uptown Events was a game changing decision for my wedding- I highly recommend Uptown Events!
We worked with Morgan for our October 2016 wedding. She was full of positive energy and really wonderful to work with! My husband and I live across the country so we decided on the month-of package so that we had help with the vendor communications and day-of coordination. Although we were only contracted for the month-of service, Morgan started working on the details of our wedding at least two months in advance. I am extremely organized and detail oriented so this was a huge blessing to get things pulled together early. She was responsive with communications and worked to make our wedding dream come alive. For my husband and I, our wedding day turned out perfectly. Morgan dealt with the issues with the caterer without us ever having to know. She pulled together our wedding vision with the attention to detail that we desired.
I was so blessed to have Morgan Prejean as the coordinator for our wedding. She was so professional, beyond helpful and was able to give suggestions on vendors, and all of the little details at times when I felt like my head was going to explode. She was truly a joy to have around on our wedding day! I was one of those people who thought that I could handle the entire planning process on my own, but it's the small things that add up, and Uptown and Morgan were there to add them all up...and help us have the perfect wedding! Recommended 100 times over again.
I don't even know where to begin! Jessica is amazing! I wasn't quite sure about having a day of coordinator because I thought I was very organized and could handle it on my own. No one is as organized as Jessica! I could have never ever done it without her and her team! She kept me calm in times of crisis, and made sure everything ran smoothly! I almost made the tragic mistake of planning my daughter's wedding by myself. When realizing that i might need help, I called Jessica with Uptown Events. She immediately went into action and helped with all the details. Thank you Jessica for coming to the rescue. You are thorough, thoughtful and very professional.
I was planning on not hiring a wedding coordinator, but I'm really glad I did. This was the best investment in the entire wedding budget. Jessica is amazing and her assistants were wonderful. I don't think I would have been able to survive the stress of the day of without them. They take care of everything! I was told after the wedding that a few things had happened the day of my wedding, but I had no idea because they handled everything without bothering me with making silly decisions. I couldn't imagine having a wedding without Jessica and her team.
I can't say enough great things about Jessica and Uptown Events! Jessica is so professional, so fun and knows exactly how to make every detail of a wedding go so smoothly and perfectly. I never had to worry about a single thing because she was always so on top of it! If you only do one thing today, it should be hiring Uptown Events for your wedding!
Jessica and her team at uptown were great. From the moment I met with her I felt at ease. She was very thorough and made sure my details/ desires were always priority. The weeks before the wedding tend to be stressful but she did a wonderful job contacting all my vendors to keep every detail in order.
Very helpful! Jessica and Chenille were very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. There were several last minute changes, on our part, and they adapted and made everything run smoothly. Very professional and friendly. HIGHLY recommend!!!
