The chairs and linens come with the package and they too are top notch. The price for the wedding space varies depending on the day of the week, but all their prices are reasonable in this highly priced market. We had both the ceremony and reception at the venue which made it easier for our many out of town guests. The location also makes it easy to book hotels nearby and plenty of restaurants and bars for before and after parties. We had a fantastic wedding at The Uptown. If I had more daughters, I would do another wedding here again.

Alia, the Director of Events, helped make our wedding very memorable and kept in contact with us throughout the planning process. They have a lot of experience putting on events like weddings and have a lot to offer when it comes to planning assistance, but were still very receptive to our preferences and ideas. We would highly recommend both the venue and their staff.

!! We booked The Broadway Room for our wedding ceremony and reception-- and this space is just perfect on its own!! Alia really took care of us and made us feel like we were just being added to the Uptown family. I truly can't recommend The Uptown or Alia enough for any kind of ceremony or event.

tely taken away by the options of rooms that we had at the price point. There are 3 event rooms that we took a tour of that weren't the theater itself. The Broadway room was beautiful and light with the arch windows, but we decided on the Cabaret room for our ceremony and the Valentine room for our reception which, to most venues, we got as a steal! Alia was very forthcoming when saying that she would take the role as wedding planner and she was truly a blessing. She communicated with all of our vendors, helped set up our decorations and added the finishing touches, created our general outline, and even provided us with champagne (beer for the boys) during our getting ready. She was so sweet and genuinely cared that our wedding went as smoothly as possible. I couldn't have survived this wedding process without her. If you ever consider the Uptown, I promise you won't be let down by how communicative and caring everyone truly is.

heard a bad word from any client I have ever worked with hosting their wedding here (and I have worked on about 50 weddings at this venue)! NOW- on to MY special day.....we chose Uptown for a number of reasons. 1. It is BEAUTIFUL! 2. It fit our personalities perfectly. 3. They provide bar service, linens, china, flatware, napkins and 4. ALIA- Alia is the most flawless human I have ever worked with in this industry and that included on my own big day. Alia's communication with us was beyond exceptional. We never had a question she couldn't answer. She made sure that every single moment of our day was absolutely perfect. She goes out of her way (although, it really isn't out of her way- she does it anyway!) to work through every little detail and make sure we had the day WE wanted from day 1. I would go back in time and every single time choose Uptown for my wedding venue. I can assure you that you will NOT regret this decision!!!

From the moment we toured, we knew we would be taken care, Alia is a wonderfully friendly person who answered all of our questions and showed us all of the wonderful aspects of the venue. We had our reception and ceremony in the theater itself, and it was extraordinarily beautiful. The process of touring, booking, planning and day of were handled so professionally, it took so much stress away from us. Alia was there every step of the process, including our rehearsal and the day of. Our friends and family were very pleased with the wedding day as well, the bar staff were friendly and wonderful. There was plenty of parking close to the venue, and the catering staff (we went with the recommended Brancatos) were fantastic! Thank you Uptown Theater! Special thank you to Alia!

Alia (venue coordinator) must have answered 52 million questions over the last 18 months of planning. Her attention to detail was phenomenal. And holy cow the night went soooo smooth. Staff was amazing at catering to guests and especially the wedding party! I would recommend the Uptown over and over and over again!

everyone was so helpful. Our wedding coordinator, Alia, was on top of it and got our room set up, timelines, and information to other vendors very quickly! It was wonderful to not have to stress about anything on our big day and know things were taken care of. The reception set up was stunning!! We had our ceremony in The Cabaret- intimate with great lighting- and our reception in The Valentine. No room flip was needed and our guest were able to enjoy happy hour without feeling in the way. We loved The Broadway, but we had a big wedding so it wasn’t quite big enough for us. 10/10 recommended!

own were very accommodating and focused on details. Alia was instrumental in ensuring my wife and I, along with our families and guests, had an optimal experience. She handled all communication with vendors before and during the wedding, allowing for us to focus on having a great time. Her experience with wedding coordination was evident and proved valuable for us. She was very accessible! Response time was A1. A few notes: - The Broadway Room was perfect for our guests (75 guests + DJ and photographer). We were a little concerned about the natural lighting from the arched windows creating a back-lit issue for pictures and it was not a problem. - Included in our package with Broadway Room was access to the dressing room that had a small theater attached to it. Maybe 20 seats? It was cool to have that space to use before the wedding. My husband had a few drinks and watched a movie until it was time to get ready and go on with the wedding. - It was cool to have our names on the marquee! No additional cost there! - We were able to have an ice cream truck come through for our guests. The truck was able to park outside in front. Alia was able to coordinate that for us, too. - We didn't use the in-house catering option but Uptown provided utensils, plates, and bussing for our meals.

ropped to the floor. We wanted a spacious site to host our old Hollywood themed ceremony and reception, and the theater at Uptown was the perfect place. It had character, color, drama, and an element of surprise. Just to name a few some of my favorite aspects of my wedding include the spacious theater, our own lighting technician throughout the ceremony and reception (amazing first dance pictures), a video projector we were able to use for my father/daughter dance, rock star dressing rooms, an unbelievable staff who helped with set up and tear down, a personalized marquee message that we used for our engagement photos and our wedding day, and last but not least ALIA! We decided on Uptown just as the pandemic began. When we all naively thought covid would last only a few weeks. It didn’t. Every month the restrictions changed for better or for worse. It was difficult planning a wedding during the pandemic, but Alia (the coordinator) did everything to reassure us that it will still be a great day no matter what. And it was!!! Every month I would send her a lot of “what if” scenarios, and she came up with a plan on how to make things work. Thankfully the restrictions in Kansas City were all lifted just weeks before our wedding! In the end were able to do everything we had hoped and planned. I cannot say enough great things about Alia. She is a wedding coordinator dream, and the best part- she comes with the package!!! As soon as I sent her a text or email with a question, she replied immediately!!! I never waited more than a few hours for a reply. Or if she was going to be out of town- she let me know ahead of time. Sometimes she would message me just before midnight with an answer to my question. Whenever I had an idea- she made it happen. If we ran into a problem- she found a solution and a way to make it happen. She let us come in at different times throughout the year to do walk throughs or play with some ideas, helped us out with our food, created our timeline, made sure we got down the aisle, gave suggestions about Mr. and Mrs. cocktail drinks, constantly checked in on us throughout the wedding, created the floor plan, worked with our decorator to make sure she had lots of time to work her magic, helped with the rehearsal, and in the end was more than a coordinator but a great friend. I have missed her a lot since our big day!! The day of the wedding we had so many compliments about the space. We heard- “This space is perfect.” “What a beautiful place in Kansas City.” “We had no idea Uptown did weddings.” Uptown went through a lot of changes during the pandemic. All acts were cancelled or postponed for more than a year. This allowed workers to do some touch ups in the theater. They added new lights and gave the walls a fresh coat of paint. And it shows. My husband and I are now planning to go to several shows at Uptown as things continue to reopen. And remember the place where we said “I do.” We wanted our wedding to be special and it was. It was more than just a day, but a new beginning. Thank you Uptown. Thank you Alia. You went above and beyond to create our dream wedding. Any bride would be lucky to work with you!!! We cannot recommend Uptown enough to all future couples looking for a different place to get married or host a memorable party.

Alia made sure our drinks were always full at the head table, and even remembered our special, silly request for extra mac 'n cheese as she plated our meals! The fun, unique touches made the venue extra special - from our custom wording on the marquee, to our photo displayed in the old-fashioned 'Now Showing' movie poster outside the Broadway room, our wedding day was spectacular from start to finish!
