The venues at Vail Resorts are naturally breathtaking and one of a kind, but it is because of this that Vail Resorts can command the prices they do and give off a passive vibe. Expect to work with multiple people who don't always get back to you when they say they will, getting nickel and dimed for the smallest things, and in general, missed details on your big day (not listing out dietary info cards for reception buffet, forgetting about and not delivering a bridesmaid's vegan meal, as some notable examples). If you really want a venue here (we had the Vail wedding deck and it was beautiful, there's no doubting that) make sure to hire a very detail-oriented wedding planner who has worked with them in the past and will keep them in check, or be prepared to devote a lot of time working with them and their processes.
We are planning a wedding at Arrabelle the summer of 2023. To date, we paid $25,000 in deposits for the reception. We have attempted to meet with the event planner on site - only to learn she had resigned. The replacement planner works remotely.
This is a shame. They get an F in my book.
We held our reception in the Arrabelle square in the summer. The venue and energy were awesome, but Vail Mountain Resorts is a big company and was very hard to plan with. We had consistent trouble getting in touch with our liaison at the Arrabelle and had to be super proactive on every single detail in order to get anything done. We also had a lot of trouble working through our cost estimate and getting specific answers to our questions, both were very inconsistent. Having said all this, the night of our event the hotel staff were outstanding. I would recommend the venue because it is stunning, one of a kind and very special but just beware that it is not the most streamlined or transparent process and there will likely be some headaches along the way.
The Event Deck is such a beautiful venue. They were easy to work with and everything went well the day of the wedding, with the exception of a slight Gondola delay when our guests were ready to head up the mountain (likely due to a communication issue with the Gondola staff). The woman driving the golf cart to the deck for our group was so sweet and we really appreciated her help!
It was so so breathtaking and such a dream!!!
I can't rave about this location enough!!
Even though our day included what felt like hurricane wind, the location and venue were just what we wanted for our mountain wedding and despite the wind, our pictures turned out gorgeous.
Morgan did a great job staying in touch and making sure we had everything we needed and even helped us accommodate a spot to get ready since we were traveling from a different town.
Highly recommend this venue for your ceremony!
Amazing venue with wonderful, service oriented people!! Our reception experience at Cucina at The Lodge at Vail was PERFECT!!! I wish we could relive the day over & over again. The outdoor patio, dining area & bar/dancing section were all the perfect size and flowed beautifully! I seriously can't say enough about this venue! It was a dream come true. The service was incredible, too!! I work in the service industry, so to be on the receiving end of such wonderful service meant the world. The banquet staff, led by Joanne, was so attentive and accommodating and executed all of the planning perfectly! Chelsea in sales was very supportive, put together a beautiful tasting for us prior to the wedding & followed through with all of our details going above and beyond! Everyone we encountered from valet to housekeeping to everyone involved with the event itself was so, so great & played a part in making the occasion even sweeter!
My husband and I had our destination wedding in Vail and reception at Cucina (restaurant) at the Lodge at Vail. We had around 75 guests and weren't interested in a ballroom setting, so landed on this space. One of the biggest challenges of the room is that it's divided in the middle by large pillars, but by working with an amazing team (specifically florals and adding greenery on chandeliers in both spaces), we were able to make the two rooms feel like one. The food ended up being fantastic. We got stations (beef tenderloin, turkey breast, gnocchi, salad and potato bar) and could not have been happier. The drinks were a bit pricey, and there were a few instances where we felt a little "nickel and dimed" by the Vail Corporation, but overall it was really a great experience and we wouldn't have changed it. Plus, the people at the Lodge couldn't have been nicer. The biggest draw to this space for us was the outdoor area with a fire pit where we did late-night s'mores. It was fun for all! If you have a smaller group and are looking for a fun space that already has a lot of character, Cucina is highly recommended.
What an amazing mountain wedding experience! We held our welcome rehearsal cocktail reception for 65 guests at the Arrabelle Friday night and it was magnificent. The food, service, staff and venue were exceptional! It was Oktoberfest weekend and the Square was full of people and music which added to the overall experience! Thank you !
We had our ceremony on the Vail Wedding Deck and our reception at Donovan Pavilion. The Vail Wedding Deck will absolutely complete the perfect Vail/Mountain Wedding scene. The views were stunning, at the deck, and on your way up the gondola. We had guests raving about how epic and amazing the venue was, and the pictures are perfect! We had some rain right before we were supposed to start, but it passed quickly, as it does in Colorado, and we were able to pull the ceremony off without a problem. The staff was really helpful the day of, and everything went really smoothly. The only reason I didn't give my experience a 5/5 star review is because leading up to the wedding, there was a shift in management and it was a bit stressful (confusion over payments, timelines, vendors, etc.). I think it was all a miscommunication between the people we were working with, but it was stressful none-the-less. Also, a disclaimer, this is an EXPENSIVE venue. You pay thousands of dollars, for a couple hours, and they don't even let you set up your own water table... but hey, that's Vail. Overall, a great experience and one of the things that made our day so beautiful and special.
I can't rave enough about this venue. As a bride planning her wedding from a different state, the Arrabelle did everything to coordinate and make sure my reception was executed perfectly. They could not have been any more accommodating to my needs and vision for my big day. I would highly recommend the Arrabelle and their venue to anyone looking for beautiful views and amazing customer service.
It's hard to pick a rating as almost everyone at The Lodge at Vail was wonderful. The concierge staff, valets, servers, maids...nearly everyone was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I've struggled with the event coordinator for our wedding, Barbara, and we are still in a disagreement two weeks after my wedding.
First off, I asked if we could get a keg of a local craft beer instead of the regular, bud lite-type options on the banquet menu. B said she wasn't sure and asked which beer I would want. I received a quote from a local brewery for $220 for a keg. B said that would be fine, but they would coordinate it and it would cost $700 ($910 w/ mandatory gratuity & tax). I was shocked and felt extremely upset at being taken advantage of since we had already signed a contract and made a down payment. B ignored my multiple requests to discuss the pricing with her supervisor, whom she blamed the pricing on. We did ultimately pay the sickening amount for a keg.
A couple months later, I asked if the strung lights we'd seen in some pics in the Cucina space would be up for our reception. B said we could have lights put up for $250 ($325 w/ gratuity & tax). We agreed as we really liked them. When we arrived at The Lodge 4 days before our wedding, we realized those lights are permanent. When we asked B about this, she said she "hadn't realized they'd become permanent" and took them off our invoice. Really? She coordinates events there every day and her office is just a couple doors down the hall. Whatever.
And lastly, I received the final invoice. We had paid for everything ahead of time but wine & well drinks, as those were to be billed by consumption. The invoice stated 23 bottles (~92 glasses) of wine. This seemed reasonable for 60 adults. For reference, we hadn't finished the keg (140 drinks). But the invoice stated we consumed ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR liquor drinks. That. Is. Impossible. Almost no one was having well drinks. If I had to give my best guess, I would say we probably consumed 20 well drinks. Paying for an extra 144 well drinks is an extra $1,680+. And they billed my credit card before I approved the invoice. Absolutely unbelievable. B said she would look into it with her banquent staff this weekend. I'll provide an update once this gets resolved.
I hope this is an accident that gets sorted out, but it seems to be par for the course with this banquet staff. Our wedding was great and I have no complaints about the actual day. Food was great. Staff was fantastic. But it doesn't make up for feeling taken advantage, the dishonest billing, and still being embroiled in it weeks later. I would highly recommend the hotel, but if I had to do this again I would plan my wedding elsewhere.
We used The Lodge at Vail as our main hotel room block for our wedding weekend, and we also hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Cucina which is located inside the hotel. Let me start by saying that the staff members at The Lodge at Vail are AMAZING. Seriously, they went above and beyond for each and every one of our guests in every aspect during their stay. No complaints at all. Regarding our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Cucina, Barbara helped us coordinate both events and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She did not overlook any detail and was very responsive and helpful every time I reached out with a question or concern throughout the planning process. The Cucina itself is BEAUTIFUL and has a great mountain feel to it. We could not have been happier with how our events turned out. Food, drinks, and service were all A+++. Our entire experience at The Lodge was fantastic and way more than we expected (in the very best way). Highly recommend!
The crew that works for the Lodge at Vail is amazing! Brittany A. helped me set up room rates for my wedding guests and she was such a fantastic person to work with! I had my wedding guests stay at the Lodge and they were so happy with everything. The hotel was very accommodating to every guest, provided exceptional amenities, helped distribute all of my welcome bags, and were incredibly friendly. Tiki and Simeon were especially wonderful- very friendly and hilarious!! I completely recommend this hotel to anyone.
My wife and I recently got married in Vail, September, and we stayed at the Lodge at Vail along with our families and many of our friends. The process of booking rooms with our group was seamless and the service at the Lodge was over the top. When we arrived at the hotel there was a picture of my wife and I on the big screen TV behind the front desk with a note welcoming guests of the Burgess-Childs wedding. The staff was very helpful with amenities and making our guests, from all over the country, feel right at home. This is an awesome property with an even better staff!
Being a Vail Valley local for 10 years, it's always nice to have a staycation in our dream destination, Vail. Having worked in the hospitality industry, we also had high expectations. When we chose to stay at The Lodge at Vail for our wedding weekend, our expectations were not only met but, far exceeded!
It all started with a complimentary couples massage at their beautiful spa. The staff, the facilities, the service, and experience were all sensational! We could have not been more relaxed as we went in to our wedding weekend. My wife had one of the better massages she's ever received.
The room was stunning. The finish level, the space, the view up Vail Mountain and on to Golden Peak (filled with golden leaves at the time) were all just a few of the many comforts of the room. The housekeeping staff was punctual and provided a very comfortable level of cleaning and turn-down service.
When there were gifts and items delivered to the front desk, everyone was very accommodating and over the top helpful and friendly. Lana Karpova not only deserves a raise for her warm welcome and level of service but also for managing an excellent front desk team.
Shannon Best sprinkled her hospitality magic all over our stay and made us feel so special, care free, and relaxed. You can tell she works very hard and truly cares about everyone on and staying at the property. Shannon deserves a raise too!
The front drive and valet were always on point and eager to assist us. In particular, Gus and Eric went out of there way to help. I also heard numerous comments from our guests staying at the property how amazing these guys were.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay at the Lodge at Vail and couldn't imagine our wedding weekend without staying at the property. We look forward to recommending all of our friends and family to stay at The Lodge at Vail whether for business or for pleasure. Nice work everyone!
Stephanie Raine managed our wedding at the wedding deck flawlessly! Great communication and my day was PERFECT! Amazing location and venue. Food at Game Creek Bistro was delicious too.
We held our wedding reception, cocktail hour, and day after brunch here for 130 people. They were impossible to work with for planning. They hardly responded to emails, phone calls, etc. They were a daily headache and nightmare for our wedding planner. They changed the event planner on their end 5 times-- and each time we had to start from the beginning with their new planner because they didn't do any kind of internal hand-off of information. We almost had to CANCEL the wedding because they "FORGOT"(?!) to book rooms we had given them months earlier to book, and then said that almost all the rooms were booked up at that point. They ended up not being able to fit our entire bridal party in the hotel. They also drove up the room costs when this happened, so they ended up making money off their disorganization and complete lack of communication. They treated us like a customer up until we signed a contract with them-- and at that point it was a complete 180º to being treated like an ATM machine. At no point did they try and make up for the awful planning service we received from them-- they did the opposite and tried to charge us more money to clean up their mess. Don't do it. There are other places in Vail that are just as beautiful, more organized, and customer service oriented.
After looking at several venues in the Vail, CO area we decided on the Lodge at Vail - specifically the Cucina Rustica restaurant located there. Our experience at the Lodge was great overall. The sales manager and event coordinator were very helpful during the planning process and took care of all the little details the day of the reception. The setup looked great and was exactly what we had discussed prior to the event. We picked the venue for the location and atmosphere, but felt that the food was good (not superb, but definitely good) and the service during the event was excellent. The Lodge itself was quite nice and we had no problems with our rooms, plus the support staff (front desk, bellmen, etc.) were friendly and very helpful. The prices for food/liquor/etc. were on the high side overall, but in line with similar venues in the Vail area. Overall we were very pleased with our experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to others!
Taylor Sultzbaugh, the event coordinator at the Arrabelle, is amazing! Our wedding was originally planned for Estes Park, but the floods there had us scrambling at the last minute to totally re-plan a whole new wedding in just a couple of days. Taylor and her staff helped to give us the dream wedding we wanted. From the personalized menus to the flower petals down the aisle, the attention to detail was perfect! The staff was friendly and attentive, and they even put aside a little plate of the delicious appetizers for me and the groom when we were busy taking pictures. The event space (the Great Room) was perfect for our intimate family reception. The food was terrific as well. I just cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to have our wedding at the Arrabelle.
The wedding deck at Vail mountain was the MOST stunning location for our wedding. The views are mind blowing and we had so many compliments from guests. Everyone really loved the location and it just added the WOW! factor to our day.
Going up the gondola to the deck was very easy and they provided a golf cart for those who found it difficult to walk up at the top with the altitude. Our more elderly guests really appreciated this, as did I in my big dress and heels.
The reason the location only gets 4* is due to the service provided by the deck in advance of the wedding. Our wedding coordinator was changed 3 times, which wouldn't have been so bad if they had communicated the final change to me more than 2 DAYS out from the wedding!! This added a burden of stress before the day that I really didn't need. The first 2 coordinators were great, however, the final one took over the role last minute, which resulted in some misunderstandings from what had been agreed with coordinator #2. To top it off she handled this with a passive agressive attitude that just stunned me for the amount of money we were paying to hold our wedding there. Nevertheless I didn't let this ruin my day and we had the most incredible wedding.
The Arrabelle is no doubt a very beautiful place to have a reception, especially if your ceremony is at the Wedding Deck. The Arrabelle is at the bottom of the mountain and couldn't be more perfect of a location. However, they did try to get as much money as possible by pouring more drinks than what we wanted. Instead of having wine placed at the table like we wanted, they had servers filling up glasses. Since they had servers pour the drinks, we had no idea how many drinks were being poured. Our budget was 2 drinks a person and believe me, it went way over budget real quick. I can't say that I'm pleased with their sneaky decision. I could have easily said something to them during the reception but it was my wedding day and who wants to make a scene? They knew exactly what they were doing and I would be careful. Otherwise the food and service was great. We did Vail on a budget, it's a hard thing to do when everyone wants your money.
The Arrabelle is a beautiful location and they went above and beyond to make sure my day was perfect. We loved getting married there.
The Lodge at Vail is a beautiful hotel. The staff goes over and above to make sure that you are satisfied in your stay at the hotel. It was a perfect place for wedding guests because the Lodge has various sized condos available for families to stay in. These condos are all unique and every single one that I saw was 5-star quality. My favorite part about this place was probably the luxury of the hotel, which I am not accustomed to! I even had a manicure/pedicure in the spa which was excellent, and I enjoyed free morning yoga the morning of my wedding, which was unbelievable (fantastic instructor). Overall this place was amazing, and I had many comments from guests that they were very happy with the rates (contracted) and the service of the hotel. The hotel only loses 1 star from a 5 star rating because there were financial issues that have been mixed up, and it's been hard to try and fix them post-wedding. The weekend was wonderful though, I would highly recommend having your guests stay here!
I got married here August 11th, 2012. The whole day there was a 50% chance of rain, and when I got to the bottom of the gondola about an hour and a half before the start of the ceremony, it was pouring down! Claire and the whole staff at the mountain were wonderful and told me that it should blow over. About an hour later, the gondola started back up and the rain went away!
The backdrop doesn't get any better. My wedding was at 7pm, sun sets in the summer around 8pm. Picture perfect... It's pretty expensive, but I wouldn't change a thing. Thank goodness the rain stopped because we wouldn't have gotten our money back and we would have had to gotten married inside instead!
We just had the most fantastic wedding here at The Lodge. It turned out to be way more than we ever could have dreamed of. The staff was so wonderful as well as helpful and made the wedding flow easily. Our coordinator was amazing and she made this process not only enjoyable but less stressful. We highly recommend there services for your big day!
We were married on the wedding deck August 6, 2011 and had reception at Game Creek afterwards. We had excellent service from Claire at Vail Mountain, and the entire Game Creek staff. What a fabulous experience! Our friends/family from all over just loved the venue, and the service was all top notch.....food was outstanding! I would highly recommend them.
We loved everything. Every aspect of the cocktail hour and reception went smoothly. The service was great and the food delicious.;It could have been all of the dancing but I was a little warm in the ballroom. That was it- Everything was great!
The manager and staff were very helpful and professional. Everything flowed very well. All requests were handled in a timely and courteous manner.;The food was rather salty.
