Everyone who attended my wedding told me it was the best wedding they ever attended. The VSB has the most attentive staff. From the moment we booked until the day came our Event Manager Brittany was an exemplary partner in planning this event. As a professional event planner myself I couldn't be happier with every aspect of their service. While I had a large wedding, the multidimensional space can easily be adapted for a much smaller and more intimate affair. Our beach ceremony was incredibly moving and the food quality is tremendous - this is truly the most beautiful venue to get married at in all of New York City. If you are an anti Staten Island snob, I dare you to spend one evening at the Vanderbilt! I am so grateful to have shared this experience with the incredible staff at the Vanderbilt!

At the risk of sounding overtly overjoyed, we most certainly give the Vanderbilt at South Beach 5+ stars. The service met and exceeded our expectations to the point of being exceptional. Our Event Manager, Brittany did a phenomenal job, going above and beyond to ensure that our event was nothing less than an A+. The way that the timeline of service was coordinated felt seamless and professionally attentive, not only to us but to each and every one of our guests as well. September 7, 2023, was simply unforgettable. There is no doubt that we will perpetually recommend this venue to friends, family, and business associates for years to come. THANK YOU!

Can’t say enough about how amazing everything is at the Vanderbilt is from start to finish from the minute you sit down and meet with brittany to the minute you leave your event the staff, the maître d’ everybody is super super attentive and make sure that not only your happy, but your guest are two!

My husband and I used the Vanderbilt for our 200 person brunch wedding and couldn’t have been happier. Brittney was our event coordinator and helped us plan a 200 person wedding in less then 3 months and managed to help make it as stress free as possible! Brittney was extremely organized and always was available for any questions and had amazing recommendations for vendors (sweet sweet sues cake was a very big hit at our wedding). Overall the whole experience working with the Vanderbilt was amazing from the ceremony to reception. Brittney helped us book a rehearsal dinner not even without even a full weeks notice and never missed any details despite the limited time (menu cards with our names / date on them - custom cake). All our events went seamlessly thanks to Brittany attention to detail- this was very important to us because we did alot of DIY for our event and Brittney helped bring that to life for us. The venue , the view and the staff were all amazing at everything they did and really helped make our special day amazing.

We just got married here last Sunday and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, beautiful inside and outside. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. We would like to thank especially to our coordinator Michelle, she is amazing and was so helpful the entire way through. Everything was more than we could ever imagine, all the staff was very tentative and friendly, it was exceptional service. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful our wedding was.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin… but I want to start off with Carmela, she was our event planner, from the moment I met her she became family! I told her my vision and she executed it beyond any of my expectations. If it wasn’t for her none of this would have been possible. She accommodated all my family members who had food allergies… so much as to walk my sister thru my cocktail hour explaining what everything was and what she can and cannot have. She was easy to contact and was always on top of getting in touch with me when she needed to. I was able to drop off all the little details I had for that day early and she had everything set up exactly where I wanted it and added her own little touches that turned out amazing. She’s a great woman with a huge heart, I honestly can’t say enough about her! My wedding day tuned out amazing. We did the Royal menu and believe me when I tell you it’s worth every penny. My wedding was over a week ago and I STILL have people calling me about the food that night, especially my cocktail hour. Everyone was blown away by the presentation and all the food. Just when my guest thought it couldn’t get any better along came dinner, everyone said how phenomenal the food was. I also added on the Gelato Bar at the end and it was amazing, the best add on decision we could have made. Believe me when I tell you everyone was blown away. The ambience was the topping of it all. Having wall to wall windows with a view of the Verazzano Bridge and the ocean was breathtaking. They had doors from the room that lead you outside to a patio area that also took you right onto the boardwalk! John my Maitre’D was very attentive to us, making sure every detail was perfect that day. Gianna my bridal attendant was amazing, made sure I ate during the night, brought me drinks, helped with my dress and make sure I was taken cared of all night. Everyone did amazing and I can’t thank them enough for making my wedding day the most amazing day ever. I would recommend the Vanderbilt at South Beach to anyone who is looking to have any kind of party, you won’t be sorry!

At the Vanderbilt we worked with Carmela. She was easy to talk to and accommodating the whole time we were planning the event. In addition, Carmela was easily accessible whenever we had questions. The event itself went off without a hitch. The venue is beautiful and reasonably priced. Guests told us they enjoyed the food and drinks and thought the bartender and wait staff were very attentive. Overall, I would highly recommend the Vanderbilt for any event that you may be planning

Our wedding at the Vanderbilt was absolute perfection! Brittany, John, and the whole crew at the Vanderbilt are a true dream team. They took great care of us and our guests. From the business side to the day of the party, everything went off without a hitch. Brittany goes above and beyond to help plan your wedding day, and is super accomodating and responsive along the way. My bridal attendant Kat was lovely and a great help to us. The venue was recently renovated and it is gorgeous. The food is actually delicious - we all know that wedding food can be iffy, but as a foodie I can assure you that we did not have a single bad bite to eat. We had our ceremony in the outdoor area with the gazebo and there was a lot of room for our numerous guests. Everyone had a great time and raved about the Vanderbilt. We even heard someone say that they wished they knew about this venue before booking their wedding in one of those NJ venues that you see all over the 'gram. You don't have to go to NJ to have an incredible wedding. If you're local to Staten Island, you should definitely consider the Vanderbilt.

Words can not describe how grateful I am that we chose The Vanderbilt as the place where we got married !! I always dreamed of getting married at The Vanderbilt just because my husband and I walked on the boardwalk on our first date and they exceeded our expectations!! We originally were suppose to get married 8/15/20 but because of covid we had to postpone. We were so lucky to get a Saturday in June 2021! The switch was very easy! Brittany is so amazing, she is so enthusiastic, hardworking and a pleasure to work with!! She made sure we had our dream wedding!! we can't wait to work with her again!!! My husband and I are big foodies and it was so important to us that we had delicious food At our wedding. Our cocktail hour was awesome. We loved all our stations (ramen, fresh from sea, sushi, churrascaria, italian, and risotto). We also had delicious carvings, cheese station and 11 passed apps that nobody had A problem getting as there were so many servers going around! Our guests were raving about the cocktail hour and I have been told it was the best food they had at a wedding. Guests also loved the salad, pasta and entree options! Dessert was delicious with a chocolate fountain, gelato, pie station, pasticceria and barista bar). Monica, our bridal attendant was amazing and made sure my husband and I got to try all the food during cocktail hour as she brought it up to our bridal suite right after the ceremony. She also made sure my bridal party always had drinks and they were all raving about her! She saved the day more than once!! One thing that did go wrong is that it rained and we had to move our ceremony inside. Even though it was not our plan, the team made the space look beautiful and the Ceremony turned out gorgeous (so brides if it does rain, it will ultimately be okay). We were lucky and able to get beautiful boardwalk picture as the weather was okay during picture time. Again, I am so happy with how our wedding turned out and will 1,000% recommend!!

My daughter’s wedding was beautiful! Our guests were impressed with ambiance and service. Thanks to the dedicated stuff at Vanderbilt it went smoothly without any hitch. Our wedding was a small one, but it was treated as a major event of the year. Special thanks to Salvatore for invaluable advice and unending help in planning this event. I never heard a word ‘NO’ from him. All my questions and wishes were timely answered and exacted as requested. Maitre d’hotel Felix was like a good conductor performing with great managing skills. Two waiters were very efficient and went without disturbing anyone. Food was delicious and plenty. The professionals hired for the wedding DJ, photographer and photo booth attendant were treated with respect. All our wedding decorations were professionally displayed even before we got there. I could not ask for more. I was very satisfied. Recommend for any event!!!

The venue is beautiful and has many options for your ceremony. 1. The most expensive option is the ceremony on the beach. 2. you can use the boardwalk where the gazebo is at. 3. The garden area or indoors. The palm room is gorgeous. I fell in love with it from the moment I saw it. It is unique and beautiful. I used it for the cocktail servings. The ballroom was beautiful. I had my ceremony on the beach and it was executed very well. I loved it . Food was delicious, cake was delicious and and staff was very friendly. I worked and planned with Brittany and she was great!! The only negative - my wonderful family all were arriving super early to the wedding and were all just walking into my bridal suite. Between the entire bridal party and then my family guest walking right up it was packed in there. But Brittany soon came to the rescue!!

We had our wedding at the Vanderbilt this past September and my husband and I were very happy with our experience there. From start to finish my wedding planner Brittany worked to make sure all details were put in place, answered all my questions and guided me along the way. She was so flexible which was great especially as I got a little nutty closer to the wedding day, even with major changes such as switching the location of my reception and having it in a different room than cocktail hour. Something I want to point out that I've noticed on some older reviews is that the Vanderbilt does not do two weddings on one day, and when I booked Brittany told me that is their policy (they may do two events on the same day, however). This place is beautiful and very reasonably price compared to other venues that I looked at when I first booked. In fact, I couldn't believe that I could even afford this place. They only do a half-hour cocktail hour, which I have never heard of before, or you can pay a flat rate per person (about 8 bucks) to extend to an hour, which we chose to do because I had to do all my pictures during cocktail hour. Our budget was kind of tight for a wedding, so because I paid to do that, we had to skimp on extras during the cocktail hour and just had an additional carving station along with the passed hors d'oeuvre. I did hear that cocktail hour was great though, and it was a nice touch that they plated my husband and I an assortment of cocktail hour food to have when we came in for the regular reception. Overall, the service was great, from my bridal attendant Christian who waited on me hand and foot the night of my wedding, to the maitre'd Sam who made sure all was put in place correctly and my guests were happy, to the waitress Monica who was extra attentive to my nephew who got sick during dinner. Even the girls who answered the phone helped me immensely with my millions of phone calls throughout the planning process. One small negative I will point out - make sure that everyone working the night of has communicated with the planner. I worked hard to ensure all my details were clear and gave everything to Brittany in advance (we had a ton of favors and wine bottles for our guests - I wrote up a detailed table list with how many favors and how many bottles of wine should be at each table). The night of the wedding, Sam told me she didn't know how all the stuff should be set up, so she did what she thought was right and I guess just spaced everything out evenly. It all looked fine, and I'm sure everyone worked out getting what they were supposed to - but I wouldn't have bothered writing up the list myself :/ So if you are super detail-oriented or a control freak, make sure there is a ton of communication between the staff well before the night of the wedding! I say that only because, when so much of everything went right, one small detail will stick out! Overall very very happy with our choice to have our wedding here - you can't make this choice again (theoretically :/ ) so happy I made the right one!

We had our wedding here on May 20, 2018. It was awesome!! It went by in a flash, but we (and everyone else) had a great time. I manage corporate events for work, so I know that a staff can make or break a venue. These guys did not disappoint! The personal attention really makes a difference. We worked with Brittany who was very responsive and accommodating to all our questions, needs, must-haves, etc. She was wonderful to work with, truly a sweetheart who was very involved. We chose to have our ceremony on the beach and rain was threatening our day all week. Just a few hours before, we saw it was going to be clear and Brittany made our dream beach wedding happen! We had Felix at our tasting dinner and requested him as our Maitre'D for the big day. We just jived with him and loved his enthusiasm. He was excellent at keeping everyone happy & on time. I had Monica (or Marcela? I'm so sad I can't remember her name right now) as an attendant and she was great taking care of me all evening. So the staff was wonderful, but the food was delish, too! We picked a variety of items and no one complained! The chocolate cake from the venue is so moist and delicious..still dreaming about it!

Amazing venue! Outstanding service! Polite staff! They made my wedding day perfect! They were there to answer every question I had! I highly recommend this venue you for your wedding and you can’t go wrong with the views! It’s beautiful!!! Words can’t describe how much I loved everything about this venue!

Our wedding was on April 21. It was cold at first and it supposed to rain, turned out like a beautiful sunny day, I had a garden ceremony and lots of pictures at the beach! Was amazing! We had the party at the palm room, I felt in love with the lights :) our wedding theme was rustic and elegant. I have to tell you that Vanderbilt made this the best day for me! I had in my room drinks, food, my bridesmaids. They had all I needed that day, support! I didn’t have enough time to eat but my guesses loved the food, we had an open bar also, no complaints; everything was awesome. Salvatore took care of us, and I thank him for it. For all the help in this day. Everyone is talking about this place at the beach that they didn’t know. And it’s beautiful. Thank you guys!

Amazing! Thank you to Sal and his team! I had the most beautiful wedding day, and I didn't have to worry about a single thing. This is the perfect venue, and the best part was that I didn't need to hire a wedding planner! Plus, the food was out of this world!

We got married here in 2013 and had a terrible experience. Ian is a liar and my mother in law & I were kicked out of the bridal suite while we were changing out of our clothes because the next bride had arrived. Almost two years later I am still very upset about my wedding at the Vanderbilt- I make sure to warn all family & friends not to go near this place. On the day of the wedding we were not allowed on the boardwalk when we had been assured that we would be allowed to. The outside of this hall was filthy and the bottom of my dress was stained with dirt. They did not set up enough chairs for the ceremony. And details of the dancing area were not done as contracted. It was shot ruble experience being kicked out of the bridal suite early. Ian had assured me I would have time after the wedding to change and have the bridal suite. The Vanderbilt ruined the memories of what should have been a beautiful wedding day. And they did nothing to appease the situation at all. No sorry or attempt to right the wrong at all. There were many other issues which I am not taking the time to write out because this review is long enough. But this is a flag to other brides. Please do not let your wedding day get ruined by having it here.

I had my wedding here on August 29th 2014. The day was just perfect!!! My event planner was Brittany, she is a doll to work with!!! This was actually the second event I have had at the Vanderbilt, the first event was my baby shower where Brittany was also my event planner. That day was just as magical. The scenic view is amazing especially in the summer with the gorgeous sunset on the beach and the bridge in clear view. The guests had the option of going outside while the party was in progress which I loved, I myself would step out once in awhile I'm a huge beach lover so that made me fall in love with this venue even more. Brittany is so polite and someone you can trust for your special day. Brittany was wonderful to work with, whether email or phone she was always available for questions and last minute things. Even to get a specific beer and glass per request of the father of the bride!! The food is great, the venue is beautiful, best part its not too far away (i live in queens)! I truly recommend this venue for a wedding as well as other events you may have.

Our daughter was married at the Vanderbilt in June 2014. As we looked for a venue, we were hesitant to stay on Staten Island. However, the groom preferred a local site. The Vanderbilt caught our interest with it's beautiful atmosphere and scenic view of the beach and the bridge. Following the wedding, we received many compliments about the venue. Most guest enjoyed the elegance of a local venue without the cost of travel and hotels. This was a great plus for the venue. The Vanderbilt is a jewel in our own neighborhood. From the moment we entered, the event planner, Sal, made our experience smooth, stress free and pleasant. We were confident that he would take care of every necessary detail. And he did! He was never bothered by our calls or questions. The maitre' d, along with the entire staff were attentive and polite to each and every guest. Our guest were amazed and complimentary about the staff. Not one guest had a complaint. The food was delicious, plentiful, and artfully prepared. Our guest called for two days expressing their satisfaction and their lack of need to eat for the following day since they were still full from the wedding. Our daughter and son in law had a dream wedding and we are two happy parents, thanks to the Vanderbilt and the staff. I would definitely recommend this venue, and if you decide to book it, drop me an invite in the mail! I want this experience again!!

As anyone would be, we went in a bit apprehensive, thinking that the event planner, naturally, was going to try to razzle dazzle us with promises and dreams. How can anyone promise you a dream wedding of your own, and actually fulfill that promise? I don't know How Sal Sulsenti Did it, but he, and wonderful staff at the Vanderbilt absolutely exceeded our expectations! From their service, which made every guest feel important, from our bridal attendants who chased away our photographer to make sure we got something to eat, and the maitre'd Felix, who took care of every single need we, as the bride and groom, had as well as any and all of our guests needs. It was astounding!! one second, my glass would be empty, and when i turned around, there was a new one in its place. Sure, but I'm the bride, they have to cater to me right? But Not ONE of our over 200 guests had anything negative at all to say about the venue(which is odd because people like to complain). Every single guest was made to feel like family,and it was altogether a absolutely perfect experience. The food...the food was OUTSTANDING, and there was never a lack of it. People, even to this day will see us and say they're still full from our wedding. The quality and quantity of the food was exceptional. If we had to do it all over again, we would definitely choose this vendor again, i highly recommend them as a definite outstanding vendor. Our guests loved the fact that it was a local venue, eliminating all the hassle of travel and lodging. Our review title is also a quote from many of our guests. We recently had our wedding reception at the Vanderbilt, and could not be happier! Brittany is the best party planner we have ever dealt with. She had the answer to every question we had, and took care of every unique detail we needed/wanted. Any problems we encountered with other vendors, she took care of. The Vanderbilt is a beautiful, beachfront location, the food was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive (Felix is an amazing maitre d), and all of our guests told us our wedding was the best they had ever been to.

The Vanderbilt was beyond amazing and was able to give us the best wedding that I have ever been to! Sal at the Vanderbilt was incredible, always so helpful and willing to work with us. Felix and Brittney were equally amazing the day of our wedding! Not only did Felix and Brittney take care of us and go above and beyond (Felix was able to remove my bridal veil!) but that hospitality extended to our family as well. My dad continues to remark how great it was that Felix kept checking up on him! We got married in May of 2014 and we still have guests calling us to rave about the wedding. One of our guests said that he couldn't believe how much food was provided! He thought the cocktail hour was dinner - yet more and more food kept coming out the rest of the night! The steak was by far the best steak I have ever had at a wedding!!! You really can't beat this wedding hall. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The building itself is beautiful and the boardwalk/beach is a great bonus! I wish I could do the day all over again! I would, without hesitation, recommend Sal and the Vanderbilt to all couples looking to get married!

Thank you to Brittany and all the staff at the Vanderbilt for putting together a beautiful wedding for my husband and I! The service was impeccable from the very first consultation to the very end of our reception. Our guests could not tell us enough how great the food was and how beautiful the location was. We couldn't have been happier with how smoothly and beautifully everything went and can't say thank you enough!

My wedding was on July 5th and everything was perfect and absolutely beautiful. The staff was so accommodating - I worked with Sal and he made sure every single one of my needs were met. Thankfully the weather was gorgeous and we were able to open the cocktail hour out onto the patio and guests could go out onto the boardwalk during the reception. The room looked spectacular, everything was amazing.

My husband and I got married this past June at The Vanderbilt on Staten Island. We are simple, casual people that had a simple, casual wedding in mind. When I had seen pictures of the Vanderbilt before as well as heard the great reviews from friends of mine that had got married there, it seemed like a place for a big fancy wedding- something we weren't looking for. After visiting the location and talking to Margaret we were pleasantly surprised and ecstatic to find that all our needs (financial and our easy going wedding dreams) would be met! Margaret was amazing! She made herself available to us any time we needed her before, on the day of and even after our wedding. Even if i had the dumbest questions, she answered them wonderfully, never making us feel like a burden! We had our ceremony inside because of the rain, but it did not spoil our moment one bit! The crew worked so fast and hard to get everything set up and looking perfect that nothing could have ruined our ceremony! (and we got married in a huge storm, floods and all!) Our reception was held in The Palm Room. Out of all the places we went to visit to have our reception, this was by far the best! It was the most magical, personal, warm room we had seen. It really brought to light everything we were looking for in our wedding; close friends and family in a small setting, a twinkling 'outside' type of feeling with the lit up trees, and the magic only a personal space can bring to a personal moment like this. We were the only wedding that night (which is something The Vanderbilt offers that most places do not) making us feel even more special. Felix, our maitre'd , was beyond words fantastic! He was the most friendly, helpful, attentive person we had met throughout our whole wedding process. My bridal attendant, Brittney was amazing! She was so cool, and so calm, and so fun to be around she felt like one of my friends and really came to my every need. The food was delicious! The staff was prompt and professional, and we didn't have a worry in the world that day! We just really really enjoyed our wedding at The Vanderbilt. We felt like we made friends with the staff, got everything we were looking for ,and wouldn't have changed a thing! They were there from day one all the way until after the wedding, sending us emails to ensure we had a great time. Mostly, for all you girls out there, not looking to have a big lavish wedding, The Vanderbilt is somewhere that can tend to that. They don't just throw the big, fancy weddings, which i think a lot of people are under the assumption of (although when they do, they know how to do it well!) but they really take the time to get to know the couple, and accommodate them! They really know how to personalize your big day for you and I would do it all over again if i could!

The hall is beautiful and the setting on the boardwalk is lovely. There is no denying that, really is a picture perfect location. I think the main reason we didnt end up going with this place, other than it was difficult for guests coming from New Jersey and our wedding was on a weekday, was how pushy they seemed to be. Everything was a sales pitch from the moment we were brought inside. I understand that they are a busy venue, but this is such a special time in your life and you shouldnt feel like just another potential check.

The Vanderbilt, Margaret and Brittney, were great. We only spoke with them 4 times before the wedding at it was totally perfect. They knew exactly what we wanted and pulled it off without needed much input. They were easy to reach at all times, via phone, email, etc. The food was amazing, staff couldnt do enough for all of us also. Our guests are still calling us to tell us what a great time they had.
