I wasn’t sure until only 2 months before the wedding that I wanted to book a videographer. My husband and I were really trying to stay on budget and didn’t have much room left, so we almost didn’t go through with it. But let me tell you, if you are on the fence - do it! Book the videographer. Vanilla Video is so affordably priced, and the quality of work you get from it is way over what you would expect. I am so happy I decided to book them and I know have video footage of the best day of my life! Watching the speeches, the vows, the dances, all over again is so special. I would definitely have regretted not booking them. I highly recommend!

For our wedding video, we weren’t looking for anything too edited or fancy. We just wanted the raw footage to remember the event. Thankfully, we found Vanilla Video, and they provided us exactly that for a pretty reasonable price! The videographer they sent over was very nice and professional, and he worked with our photographer to make sure all the important moments were captured. We just went through the raw footage (several hours-worth!), and it was both extremely watchable and worked as a great representation of the day! This was exactly what we were looking for! We would definitely recommend Vanilla Video to anyone looking for good, raw footage!

The whole Vanilla Video team was down right incredible. Any question I had, they answered it quickly and with detail. They put my mind to ease, and I couldn't have asked for anything better!! Luke and Nick filmed my wedding, and they were amazing, but then getting the video / raw footage to us in the length of time they did, is just unheard of. We originally weren't going to hire a videographer for our wedding day just because of the crazy prices we had seen while we were looking at other companies, but then we found Vanilla Video and are SO HAPPY we used them. The prices are amazing and the videos we got are so perfect! Cassie was our videographer for the day - she was so sweet and really had an eye for amazing shots. Highly recommend!!

We're so glad we decided to get a videographer for the wedding. A friend recommended Vanilla Video, and we're so glad they did! We had a tight budget, and Vanilla was able to work within this. Our videographer was very nice and jumped right in. We also liked that we could save money now by just getting raw footage, and that they will edit it for you down the road when you know more of what you want. Happy we book Vanilla video!

We were on the fence about hiring a videographer, simply due to the added cost, however I am SO happy we did! Vanilla Video's prices are very affordable and customizable to a package that works for what you are looking for. We decided to go with 6 hours of raw footage, which covered our pictures, ceremony, and reception. This is EXACTLY what we were looking for, and was such a rare option to find in Chicago. We wanted to be able to look back on the day and see all of the special moments, but didn't feel the need to take on the extra cost for an "highlight" video. Vanilla Video was able to capture all of the key moments, and more, for us to look back on for years to come! I could not imagine not having a videographer, and I would highly recommend Vanilla Video!

I ended up barely noticing their team, and the videos they produced (and delivered within a few weeks) were everything we hoped for. And their pricing can't be beat. We used Vanilla Video for our wedding in June 2018 and couldn't be happier with our decision! We went back and forth for months about getting a traditional videographer for our wedding and it wasn't until we found the Vanilla team that we finally felt like someone truly met our wants and needs. Day of, they were professional and I honestly barely knew they were there (which is impressive). We received our edited video and raw footage shortly after the wedding and we are more than satisfied. They did an excellent job of capturing the day and all of our loved ones having a blast. Having the raw footage of our day documented was such a treat because you aren't relying on someone else to decide "what are the best parts of the day". I wasn't originally going to hire a videographer, but I am so happy I did. Vanilla Video's wedding package was so affordable, and my husband and I have really enjoyed getting to relive moments of our special day. Though this isn't a highly artistic video or crazy movie production that you often see people have today, I felt Vanilla was perfect for simple footage with clear audio.

Vanilla was so easy to work with, and they returned a great product. We reserved them, paid, and they required almost no follow up to confirm everything close to the wedding. Very punctual and pleasant on the day of. Strongly recommend.

I PROMISE you, going with these guys is the best decision you will make for your wedding, hands down. I decided on video at the LAST minute. I wasn't going to have it, I wanted to save money and didn't think I needed it, but under the pressure of the final days leading up to our wedding I was too afraid I'd regret it- so I researched local and affordable options and found the Vanilla team. They were incredibly responsive, friendly, assuring, and all around fantastic to work with. Their customer service was perfection and their product... what can I say? It was invaluable. Absolutely invaluable. Our wedding was such a blur and a bit overwhelming, so try as I did I couldn't really relax and see the big picture on the big day. The video they returned to me had me in tears- moments I'd forgotten or hadn't been around for were right there before my eyes-every detail captured in amazing quality. Brides, grooms, if you're looking for a videographer do yourself a favor and get one. I highly, highly, highly recommend this one. They clearly love what they do, and I won't ever forget how they helped me, how they captured the magic I so longed to live and now can relive.

Having a videographer was a last minute decision for us, as we didn't know if we had the budget for it. We had heard from family and friends that their biggest regret was not having a videographer on their wedding day. Vanilla video was available within two months of our wedding date, and we really liked how you could picked your services from their website based on price. Our videographer was very professional and did a great job capturing the raw footage. We would certainly recommend them for capturing all the highlights on your wedding day.

Vanilla Video, there is nobody like them!! They are beyond-words-amazing. They filmed my husband and I’s wedding day this past March. We could not be happier with the footage. The part about Vanilla that originally drew us to them, is that you get all of your raw footage and can choose to add on different edited versions. We loved this! This is exactly what we wanted! We knew that a few clips set to cheesy background music is not our style. Instead we wanted to be able to watch the day just as it happened. We have hours of raw footage from the day and a few different edited versions to show friends and family as well. Frank was our main contact at the Vanilla office. He made everything very easy to plan and designed a package of coverage that fit exactly what we needed. On the wedding day, our videographers (we had two, Cassie and Nick) fit seamlessly into the flow of our day. They captured all our most special moments, without being intrusive. In re-watching our videos, my husband and I get so excited to see how they captured the little nuances, glances, details of the day, and at the same time we didn’t even know they were there. No cameras in your face. Our guests and wedding party raved about how inconspicuous they were, yet present at all the right moments:) I don’t know how they did it, but they did. Having a lasting video of our wedding day was a priority for my husband and I, and we are so happy we chose the style and skill of Vanilla Video. We love our video! They are very professional. I chose them based on the reviews that I saw and also because of the price as we were to the point of budget cuts. I was an out of town bride so a lot of my contact was through phone calls or email and they did everything exactly how we asked for it to be done. We had well wishes (although I wouldn't have minded more), we had shots from the cocktail hours which we weren't a part of, and then of course the important stuff - ceremony, first dance, daddy/daughter dance...they even catch things that made us laugh that no one else may have seen. I would recommend them again, and again!

Getting a videographer can be so expensive, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money on it. But, at the urging of my family, I decided to search for a videographer that wouldn't break the bank. I found Vanilla Video on the knot, and I am so pleased that I did! The videographer was so professional and captured all the great moments from our wedding. Even better, we received the video less than 2 weeks after our wedding. I would absolutely recommend Vanilla Video if you're looking for an inexpensive but high quality recording of your wedding!

My mom recommended getting a videographer for our wedding but we just didn't have it in our budget. However, after a little bit of research, I saw Vanilla Video offered just raw footage (and edited clips to share on social media) at a very reasonable price. And I was able to find a Yelp deal so we were able to accommodate my mom's recommendation within our budget and I'm really glad we did. The booking process was extremely easy. You just pick your options online and submit them for Vanilla Video's availability to accept the request. We contracted 2 hours at the hotel for "getting ready" shots and 4 hours at the ceremony/reception space (Although I'd like to note I think it worked better in our favor that the ceremony/reception was at the same venue). Younis was our videographer for the day and went above and beyond, staying an extra 1/2 hour to capture our 1st look (my fault!) and extra time at the reception since our speeches ran a little long. He wasn't invasive and for lack of better phrasing, basically invisible so the day ran really smooth. We got the footage and clips back sooner than what was contracted and the DVDs sooner than contracted as well so they were pleasant surprises. We always have the opportunity to go back to Vanilla Video to get it re-edited into montages with music so we didn't have to budget an arm and leg up front. The day goes by sooner than you think. It's really worth it to have these moments, voices, and scenes captured in time by a professional because as much as you try, there's no way to see it all.

We used a videographer to shoot our ceremony. This was very reasonably priced. We only wanted to have our ceremony filmed. I would recommend this company if you want to have a short amount of your wedding filmed - i.e. the wedding ceremony.

Vanilla Video did a great job capturing our wedding. They were extremely professional, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the process. They were also BY FAR the most reasonably priced videography company I could find. Additionally, they provided me with all of our footage less than a week after our wedding date - I was shocked at their quick turnaround time! And, most importantly, the footage is beautifully shot. The videographer included some nice tracking shots and scenery shots at our various locations that will be perfect for when we put together our edited wedding video and montage. All in all, a great value! If you're looking for no-frills wedding video that will capture all the big moments of your big day, Vanilla Video is where it's at!

These guys are are so no-frills awesome. I never even had a consultation, just booked them based on reviews. I still don't even know the name of the guy who filmed our wedding (I had a day-of coordinator). I just literally signed up for my date and time online, paid them all my money up front (which looking back was kind of weird but totally worked out fine), and they showed up and did exactly what they were supposed to. We only ordered the raw footage, so I've got a little over 2 hours of beautiful shots. He was pretty thorough, shot everything I wanted, even got guests to say well wishes while we went out in the limo to take pictures. They did a great job, I highly recommend them. I got our footage back in less than 2 weeks too. And don't be put off by the simplicity, it really is just easy breezy with those guys. Alos, a recommendation to all couples - get the raw footage, even if you have them edit it into something nice. The best half hour to watch was the last - just watching our friends and family go crazy on the dance floor, especially since I was often pulled away for photos or to say goodbye to people, I missed some fun dance moments, and I'm so glad they shot a bunch of them.

Vanilla Video did an awesome job at our wedding. We received our video within hours from our wedding. My husband and I actually watched the videos at the airport only 8 hours later. We did not order the video montage due to price, but they did a great job and was the best investment we made. If you are wondering if you should get video, the answer is YES! Money well spent and you get to relive the whole day over and see things you didn't see because you were outside or talking to people. This is a great company and can't find better work at this kind of price!

I went to college for broadcast journalism so I'm very picky about video. I wanted a professional video without all the typical sappy music and crazy fades. What's amazing about Vanilla video is they'll shoot what you're looking for and email you a link to download everything they shot! They'll edit for you if you'd like, but I was thrilled to find a company that would let me do my own editing. Vanilla video saved me soooo much money and my video is everything I hoped it would be.

Nick was amazing! He got beautiful video of our ceremony and even part of the photos after. He then got Best Wishes at the cocktail hour. We had all the normal dances but added in a special dance that no one knew was coming. Nick stayed a few minutes late to be able to get all of this on video. It is an amazing way to remember our special day! The video clips are great and a perfect quick way to remember parts of our day.

Best deal in town. We were able to get as much, or as little videography as we wanted, at a price we could afford. They did a great job, excellent quality.

They were great. I never saw the videographer but the videos we received were amazing. She captured great moments without needing to be in front of everyone's sight. You couldn't ask for a quicker delivery. While on our honeymoon, my husband and I were able to watch and download to keep in 720p & 1080p resolution all of our videos to keep less than a week after our wedding.

I was able to get a deal with them through the Knot and got 5 free clips included. The videographer was really sweet and very attentive to what limitations there might be in the church, etc. They don't accept food or tips so that was sort of nice to not have to coordinate that. They don't edit other than the clips so if you are looking for quantity rather than high quality/highly edited video, they are perfect! Only complaint is that you have to pay extra for them to wear more than a t-shirt and jeans. But really...minor detail with all things considered.

We wanted to have our wedding recorded, but thought paying $1500+ dollars for a 30-60minute video was steep, so we went with vanilla video. You get all the raw footage for about $500. The bad things - sometimes they were in the way, so they are in photos, and they would only wear a vanilla video shirt even when we asked that they just wear a button up or plain black shirt. You get what you pay for, but we got our most important moments on tape. And it is kind of fun to choose what you think is the most fun, instead of having someone else choose what the best moments were to include in a video

Frank and his team were professional, responsive and did a great job capturing our day. For less than $400, we received four hours of video coverage that was delivered to us within 36 hours. Being able to relieve our wedding within a couple of days was amazing! Frank's team were on-time and performed exactly to the specifications of the contract. They even offered to stay later because our wedding ceremony had been delayed a bit. Guests continually comment on how inconspicuous the videographers were, and that meant a lot to us that people didn't notice cameras following them around. I'd recommend Vanilla Video to anyone looking for a quality videographer for a great value.

I was a little hesitant to use them becasue they're so commercial (even on facebook), but they did an amazing job and im so thankful for the end result!

Paid only about $500 for my wedding video. They make clips of what you request and give you all the raw footage. Great quality and super reasonably priced. I'm so happy I got video, as it was the last thing we booked!

I love the work that these gentlemen produce. They are very professional and super easy to work with. All their packages are straight forward and they are very flexible. They did a great job doing exactly what we asked for. The raw video was ready, and sent to me a few days after the wedding!! I would recommend them to ANYONE!!

We only hired them to do raw footage for the day, but they were extremely professional throughout our contact, did their best to stay out of the way during the whole stay, and got us the footage within 24 hours, which was an amazing perk! their pricings are extremely reasonable so we will probably hire them to make a montage of the day too.

Can't say enough about how great the service was from Vanilla Video for our wedding. We wanted a videographer that just captured the major moments (ceremony, church exit, reception entrance, toasts and first dances) and they did exactly that. As we were nearing the end of our wedding planning, a videographer was something we were still contemplating because of budget and we didn't want someone that would be a distraction or take the spotlight. I came across Vanilla and read the other reviews which were all positive and I thought the pricing was extremely reasonable. They were extremely prompt with all my questions so I booked them. You just have to be very clear with what you want and do no want from them and they will pass it on to the videographer. Our wedding was in the city so I was worried about them being late due to traffic on a Friday but the videographer was on time and very professional. Now it seems crazy to spend way over a $1,000 (like we were being quoted) when you can just get the moments you want for a fraction of the cost. The only thing is nothing is edited but all of their editing options are reasonable as well. One of our best wedding vendor choices!

Vanilla Video was just what we were looking for—a nice video memory of our wedding at a reasonable price! We were going back and forth on whether we should get a videographer or not and I was so glad when I found Vanilla Video after reading that the biggest regret of so many brides is that they didn’t splurge for a video. Their price was reasonable, and they were relatively easy to work with. My only complaints were that they weren’t totally flexible on their timing, (I requested that they arrive 15 minutes earlier and end filming 15 minutes earlier than originally planned and they said they couldn’t do it since they wouldn’t schedule on the quarter hour, only on the half hour) and I would suggest designating someone else to be the point of contact for the videographer—as the bride, worrying about the videographer wasn’t something that I wanted to do on my wedding day. But overall, although the videos weren’t Academy Award-winning masterpieces, we have nice video remembrances of our special day and I’d recommend them as a good value (and who doesn’t need that when they are dealing with tons of wedding costs?)

I would give VV a 2.5 We added video because everyone else said it was either a great last minute decision, or something they regretted not having at their wedding. We didn't want to spend a lot because we'd budgeted a lot for our photographer, and we didn't think we'd mind just having rough footage. Vanilla showed up on time and shot the ceremony (although not always from the best angles), cocktail hour, and some of the reception. We got the package the included 8 clips, which we did not get to choose, but were mostly events that we would like to see clips of. Again, a lot of weird angles and some were disappointing. For instance, I dedicated a song to my sister and we danced to it like crazy and the guy from Vanilla shot it from BEHIND the singer. Soooo, you could occasionally see us dancing together, but a lot of it was the back of the singer's head/back, which was not that great to watch. I was also discouraged from splitting the time up, and I wish I would have just paid the extra fee and done what I wanted. We have all this cocktail hour footage that isn't that interesting (basically just video of the photographer taking family shots and guests boozing and greeting each other) and we missed the end of the night (all of our friends and family circled around us singing to us, which was amazing but sadly, not caught on tape). Vanilla says not to tip, but when my husband gave the guy a generous tip (we may have needed a tip list), the guy apparently took it and left. Also, if you care about how your videographer is dressed, maybe mention it ahead of time. We didn't mind, but our guy looked very casual. If you want video but don't really care about the quality, Vanilla is a good option. If you want more than a few clips, suck it up and hand over more money. I thought this would be a good compromise, and if the angles of the shots and the steadiness of the hand filming us had been better, it would have been a good deal. I've read great reviews on yelp, so maybe it just depends on who is assigned to your special day.

First of all, their pricing is AMAZING! I loved how you can hire them hourly or by a half day. It worked perfectly for me, I hired them for an hour for my church, then for 6 hours for my reception and the price was perfect. The best part, I had the videos 2 days later! They did a great job!

we received our wedding videos the very next day! loved them only 4/5 because the video photographer came in jeans and a T-shirt. i would have preferred a suit.

I was on the fence about having a videographer at our wedding because I felt like all the video results of wedding videographers that I could afford were horribly cheesy. Yet, I still wanted our wedding captured forever in time but not necessarily in a full-length movie with titles and music. Then I found Vanilla Video on-line and I loved the concept. You pay a very cheap base price and then by the half hour for exactly what you want. Then you get ALL of the footage two days later - with some clips of those special moments chosen from the footage, making it easy to share on-line. I am so happy we hired them. They do wear a vanilla video t-shirt, which makes them stand out, but look decidedly more dressed down then wedding guests. I've had a few people comment on this in a negative way - but I honestly didn't mind it. You can ask them to wear a button down or a dark colored t-shirt but I really didn't mind that much. I am very happy with the results.
