Vanity Salon was started by Kim Coleman. Kim has been a stylist in Mount Pleasant since 2005. She has become one of the top wedding stylists in Charleston, and her work has been published in magazines such as People, More, Charleston Weddings, and many more. Kim is now using her love of hair and makeup to create Vanity Salon. Collectively, as a salon, Vanity has done many photo shoots for local and national magazines and campaigns. Working with local celebrities as well as bigger ones is also a part of Vanity’s clientele, which they are extremely proud of.

s a little tough emailing but was able to call to confirm we were still on for the day and even add a few people to the plan for the wedding day. I was also able to talk with Janet who helped me feel comfortable prior to even meeting her! I did my trial and hair and makeup with her, and she was AMAZING! We also had Hannah did all the bridesmaids and mother’s makeup who also did an AWESOME job! We had 9 girls doing hair and makeup, and they were able to get everyone done with plenty of time and everyone loved it! I wish I lived closer to have my hair done by them more often! I would definitely recommend them!!

r our wedding day! But when the hair and makeup artists showed up, Janet was unable to attend and when another artist did my hair it fell within the hour which was extremely disappointing. The makeup was done poorly and my bridesmaids actually ended up redoing their makeup after the artists left. It was an expensive service for a majority of the bridal party to be disappointed in the quality.

I loved loved loved Janet she did amazing. When I voiced concerns about my girls they were fixed promptly and very gracefully. They did not book enough time for us as they had to rush at the end. My girls have very long and thick hair. I had some stylist who I loved how they did hair and/or make up and others I didn't care for but it all still look okay and held up so I can't complain! My hair and makeup lasted beautifully throughout the whole day I could not have been happier about the way I looked. Thank you so much Janet!

. Most vendors were only interested booking one person at a time. Vanity Salon had a "team" of wedding experts ready to go. It was really easy to set up a time for me to be ready with my bridesmaids and have everyone ready to go ON TIME! I was super nervous, but girls made me laugh and I was able to loosen up to see my bridal beauty. Would recommend for any priority event!

Not only that, but even after shedding some happy tears during the ceremony and dancing the night away, my hair and makeup stayed picture perfect (which is quite the feat considering that I have fine hair and oily skin). It's also worth mentioning that Vanity Salon offers on-site services! My bridal party and I were able to get our hair and makeup done at the wedding venue, which made for a more relaxing afternoon. Overall, Vanity Salon's services are top notch and they made getting ready an enjoyable experience!

the services. I did a hair and makeup trial a few months before - Hannah did my makeup (which I liked) and Janet did my hair. On the day of the wedding they didn't send Hannah and had her working at the salon which I thought was strange. Why would the person who did my makeup trial not do my makeup for the wedding? Kim did hair and makeup for a couple of my bridesmaids and then quickly rushed out. Both bridesmaids then had to have Janet fix their hair and makeup because Kim didn't listen at all to what they wanted. Benny was one of the people they sent to do hair, and it seemed like he was somewhat new. All he knew how to do was curl hair so he would curl and then Lee would do the styling, which would have been fine except he took FOREVER to curl each person's hair. My hair came out fine, but it wasn't what I showed for a picture. Everyone who wanted loose curls got crimped hair. All of my bridesmaids commented on how unprofessional the services were. Again, Janet was the exception to all of this and was amazing and was there to fix everyone's hair and makeup to get them more what they wanted. She also stayed on site for extra time to do touch ups after our first look before the ceremony. If you're looking for more glam makeup, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

On the wedding day, the hair and makeup artists arrived and were very upset that we weren't ready (Even though they never told us when they would come). They tried to say they didn't have time to do the mother of the brides makeup. The bride had to get upset with them and discuss poor communication on wedding day in order for them to drop the attitude and do the makeup. They were very sweet after the bride confronted them but it was too late. They need better administrative staffing. Actual services, however, were good.

hair that Kim styled and the airbrush makeup makes you look flawless! The only thing I suggest is that for brides who are paying for your bridal party to get hair/makeup make sure you tell them what type of makeup you want everyone to get. My stepmom footed the bill, but I do know that they offered airbrush to each girl as they got their makeup done and I'm unsure if that costed more or was the same price as traditional makeup! Hopefully it was the same price, but if not they should verify with the person paying if it's okay to offer a different option that what was previously discussed via email as far as what everyone was getting. This is just a tip for future brides but definitely doesn't detract their 5 star review! They were wonderful to work with and I would use them again in a heartbeat! My makeup even held up all night even though I sweated a LOT from the dancing and humidity! I highly recommend these ladies!

I had a great trial with Teresa and Bailey at the Mt. Pleasant salon, and an even better day with them and Minnie on our wedding. We had 7 bridesmaids with a variety of hair textures and lengths and Minnie and Teresa rocked them all. As someone with fairly small, hooded eyes who doesn't wear much makeup, I was really nervous about wedding makeup, but Bailey did a WONDERFUL job of creating a natural but glam look that lasted all night. On top of that, the three ladies did great with the timing of the day and getting through so many of us :). I cannot recommend Vanity enough!

day of look. I had a few changes from my trial for the day of and was worried that I would hurt her feelings but she took my ideas with grace and made me feel comfortable. I loved the final look and felt so beautiful. I only scheduled make-up for the rest of my entourage but they were able to accommodate the last minute changes when the ladies wanted to get their hair done as well, and they all looked beautiful as well. They were affordable and quick to respond to emails and phone calls.
