As a bride this past August, I want to share both the positives and the serious concerns we encountered with this venue.
The Good:
The venue itself is beautiful and made for a stu...
nning backdrop. The food and drinks were excellent, and the bar staff did a fantastic job honoring all of our guests’ specialty drink requests.
The Problems:
Unfortunately, several major issues overshadowed the positives:
• Dance Floor Blocked: A large couch—never shown on our floor plan—was placed in the middle of the dance floor. When I asked for it to be removed, I was told it would cost $25, even though my wedding party offered to move it themselves.
• Valet & Security Failure: I paid $650 for a “Valet & Security Package,” but neither valet service nor security was present. Guests were harassed for tips, parking validations weren’t honored, and there was no visible security presence at all during the event, which felt unprofessional and concerning.
• Projector & Ladder Incident: During dinner, a ladder was left above a guest table for nearly two hours while staff tried to fix the venue’s projector. My husband had carefully planned a surprise slideshow, but the equipment failed. My maid of honor ended up troubleshooting for over 30 minutes. Instead of taking responsibility, staff blamed my husband and our DJ (an outside vendor) rather than apologizing.
After the Wedding:
When I reached out about these issues, I was initially promised a $500 refund. After weeks of following up and being told “a check was in the mail,” the amount was suddenly reduced to $325 and sent via Zelle. This lack of transparency and professionalism was incredibly frustrating.
Final Thoughts:
While the venue is visually stunning, the way business was handled left me very disappointed. If you choose this venue, be prepared for hidden fees, unprofessional communication, and little accountability when problems arise.
Laura knows exactly what she is doing just trust her. At first we were a little frustrated that we didn't know about the extra charges (this was before they had fully updated their...
information sheet) but then as we worked with Laura and she answered all of our questions were were more than happy with her expertise and advice on wedding details. We had 96 people show up and we had enough room for everyone! Everyone had a blast and we had the most magical wedding here.
Food: for the tasting we were left underwhelmed. Day of 10/10 the food was amazing and everyone raved about it. we had the chicken mushroom, tortellini, and salmon and it was delicious. We did the buffet. The serving staff is amazing!
Coordination: Excellent! Laura is amazing and made sure everything went well
DJ: Their DJ was amazing! Bilingual English and Spanish and he played a good mix of both
Bar: We did 800 prepaid and then cash bar for 100 and everyone was happy
Gondola: AMAZING!
Linens: Beautiful
Set-up: convenient
Parking: Convenient for family who has mobility issues
Con: There is not a getting ready room at the venue so you need to either choose the omni or a nearby hotel to get ready at. Women's toilet stalls are small so if you have a big dress like I did, it takes a little bit of maneuvering.
Our budget was 20K-26k and we spent around 15-16k for the venetian terrace and their offerings for 100 people
Laura (the coordinator) was fantastic for
the whole wedding! The place was gorgeous and everything that needed to happen on their side went perfectly.
Our wedding day at The Venetian Terrace was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped onto the premises to the final gondola exit, every detail was executed flawlessly. ...
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our ceremony and reception.
Laura McMasters, the wedding coordinator, deserves a standing ovation. Her professionalism, friendliness, and expertise made the entire planning process a breeze. She was always ready to accommodate our requests and ensured that every aspect of our special day was tailored to our vision. Laura's warm and respectful demeanor made working with her a joy, and her meticulous attention to detail truly paid off.
The outdoor setting for our ceremony was breathtaking. Surrounded by the natural beauty of The Venetian Terrace, we exchanged vows under the open sky, which added an enchanting touch to the moment. The gondola exit was an absolute showstopper and left our guests in awe. It was a picturesque conclusion to our ceremony, and the Venetian-inspired ambiance added an unforgettable touch of romance.
The reception venue itself was a work of art. The elegant decor, the beautiful plants, and the spacious layout made it the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We received countless compliments from our guests about the stunning setting, and it truly set the mood for an unforgettable evening.
Now, let's talk about the food. The salmon and beef tenderloin were culinary delights. The quality and taste exceeded our expectations, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the delicious meal. The attention to detail in the presentation did not go unnoticed, and it added an extra layer of sophistication to our reception.
Overall, The Venetian Terrace provided us with the wedding of our dreams. It was a day filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories, thanks in no small part to Laura and the entire team at this remarkable venue. We would wholeheartedly recommend The Venetian Terrace to any couple looking for a beautiful and well-planned wedding experience. Thank you for making our special day truly magical.

ACE IS THE ONE! The venue makes the couples feel very comfortable, easy to plan, and helpful. Laura was very helpful and kind from beginning til the wedding day. She helped us with the program and made sure the wedding goes very smoothly as we planned. PLUS! the food is awesome. All of our guests loved the food. They surprised us with all of those nice food. They brought the food to couple/sweetheart table before the dinner was served. Asked us what kind of drinks we would like. Laura and servers came back to make sure if we are good with food and drinks. We really had nice experience with them. Very satisfied and happy that we chose Venetian Terrace for our special day.
We got married in November and we used the Venetian Terrace as our venue. Due to Covid, it was an intimate wedding of just 20 of our friends and family. Though small, it was so bea...
utiful, dreamy and felt like a fairy tale.
Now let’s get into how awesome our coordinator/planner was. From the first sit down, we absolutely loved Laura. She was warm, positive, honest, welcoming and an all around delight to be around. Laura was on top of everything and literally took the stress away from me, the bride. She provided us with a list of vendors for decorations, cakes and other things in case we didn’t want to use the venue. But we loved everything the venue had to offer and then more. I can go on and on about her but she made our experience 10x better, our guests loved her and I’m so grateful I had the privilege to meet and work with one of the most beautiful humans. I just love her.
The food was delicious and the area offers so many fabulous picture spots as well.
This venue was the perfect space for our wedding. It's so beautiful and just the right size for 150 people. Our ceremony was held on the terrace in the evening and the ivy covered...
arched walls were the perfect backdrop to our ceremony. The food is fantastic and the staff is amazing. Mona is a delight to work with and had the best suggestions. The rest of the staff that night of our wedding, were so helpful, sweet and made sure that our guests were taken care of and happy. They were a dream to work with and I can't say enough nice things about them.
This space is so romantic, elegant, and a true gem. We loved the Venetian Terrace and are so happy that we chose it for our ceremony and our reception.

day!! My guests loved the food!! We decided on a buffet style dinner and had multiple selections for our guests. I loved that we had the venue to ourselves for the entire day. My vendors were able to come in and get started right away!! They were gracious and most helpful!! The view in my wedding pictures gave it the romantic feel that I was going for!! They were easy to work with and explained everything. Mona also helped me make a few decisions a few days before the wedding to ensure that I was a happy bride and would be pleased with the overall outcome!!
This venue is beautiful for a small-medium sized wedding! We had about 135 people attend our wedding and it was perfect. Sasha and Mona are very easy to work with. They are always ...
available and willing to answer all questions. Their pricing is great for the quality that they provide! We also had our ceremony here and it was so beautiful! I recommend the Venetian Terrace highly!
My husband and I were married here in August 2013, and to this day people still talk about our wedding. Great location, affordable, and they were very easy to work with. The food w...
as good, and my cake very tasty. Worked with our special food requests to create the perfect menu. Only had one mixup at the reception about the alcohol, (supposed to be an open bar, not cash) but was fixed right away, with only a few people affected. The decor inside is beautiful and needed only minimal center pieces and decor for the tables. The canal provides a gorgeous backdrop, as well as the ivy clad wall. Would suggest this venue to anyone looking for a place that holds about 80 people, or more of you plan to use both inside and out for your event.
We had a wedding with 90 guests and this was the perfect venue. They have a beautiful outdoor courtyard for the ceremony, and the reception area was very intimate with lots of nat...
ural light and ambience. It is set on the Mandalay Canal in Las Colinas - which gives a whole mediterranean vibe, which makes guests feel like you are treating them to an event experience outside of Dallas. The food was outstanding. Their staff was very attentive and the appetizers we had passed during cocktail hour were abundant and delicious. We worked with them on a customized menu and they executed it flawlessly. We received so many compliments about the food. There was also plenty of room for the 7 piece band we hired as well. At the end of the night, the bride and groom left in a gondola (like in Venice) for a romantic, serenaded ride back to the hotel which made for a perfect, storybook ending. This venue is a great choice if you are planning a wedding for <100 people.
I would just like to say how PLEASED my husband and I were with Venetian Terrace. We must have interviewed 6 wedding venues before finding Venetian Terrace and we are SO GLAD that ...
we did. We worked directly with the owner Sasha and he was wonderful. Unlike the other venues we interviewed, Sasha was flexible with everything. We had A LOT of unusual requests because our families are so demanding and he was able to accommodate every request. We had 125 people, which at first we thought it might be a little crammed in the venue, but once we saw the table set up the day of the wedding it was perfect and we even had a huge area in the center for a dance floor... our families love to dance, so this was important to us. We did not have too much money for an open bar, so Sasha worked out a special package to accommodate our guests needs and everyone got plenty to drink. The bartender was very attentive to all our guests and kept us posted on our bar tab so we wouldnt go over our budgeted amount (booze gets expensive!!!). The food was EXCELLENT. We got the buffet with a prime roast beef carving station and our guest loved it. We got compliments all night about the tasty food. The service was also great. There was never an empty dish, empty glass or dirty napkin left on the table, the staff kept the venue spotless of clutter and trash throughout the whole wedding.
Now the best part of all... the venue and surrounding area is GORGEOUS! ... and the canal is the cherry on top... it was so romantic and the pictures turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. We saved alot of money on decorations because you just didnt need that much in such a beautiful venue.
I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to any bride that want big bang for her buck. And getting to work directly with the owner instead of some sales person was definitely a big plus.
First off, I would just love to say, that Renetta and Mona were there for me and my now husband, through all the details, questions, and concerns all the way up to the actual weddi...
ng day! They were great!!
Renetta worked with us on the pricing for the ceremony and the reception. For the entire day and night, they include a deposit fee, venue fee, set up and break-down, food, linens, table ware, and ceremony chairs. Extras are alcohol, wedding cake, appetizers and more food options. I went with everything included, and put an allowance towards the bar. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and quaint. Located right on the Mandalay Canal, it's the perfect setting, and the ceremony site is never in the sun!! Perfect especially for couples who live in Irving or Las Colinas, as we did at the time. There is unfortunately not a room to get ready in, but the bathrooms are big enough that you can ( we did!). Worked out perfectly!
However, several things. Because it is on the canal, you have to give your guests specific directions, because you have to go down several steps to get to it. There's also no free parking. We had our guests park in the parking garage next to the venue, and provided $5 bills so they could get out (or you could buy tokens in advance from them, but there's no refund if you over estimate on the number of cars that will be parking). They provide a venue viewing for all the brides after you pay the deposit fee, where you can try some of the foods and drinks, however, it's not everything, and you can't taste everything on the menu before the big day.
The only thing that really did not sit well with me though was the wait staff on our wedding day. They removed me and my husband's plates way too soon, so we barely got any dinner or cake, and they started breaking down way too early when I still had guests! They took down my decorations without asking me, and basically forced us to start breaking down everything so THEY could leave.
The Venetian Terrace was a beautiful place for our wedding reception. Mona, Sasha, Renetta, and the entire wait staff were outstanding. I received many compliments from our guest...
s about how much they enjoyed the food and service. I had my own wedding planner, a personal friend, as well as an independent wedding decorator. They both enjoyed working with the staff, especially Mona. My DJ said he had an event at the Venetian Terrace before and remarked how much they had improved. I was very pleased that several exceptions were made to accommodate our family and guests.
The only issue I encountered was that VT states it is wheelchair accessible through the lower level, however, the parking garage is to low for a "wheelchair accessible van" to park at the lower level. But the parking attendant offer us such parking availability at no cost across the street.
We took pictures outside by the canal and around the Venetian Terrace and the architecture was very scenic and provided a great backdrop for our photos. This was one of the many suggestions Mona provided and helped us tremendously.
I can't compliment the wait and bar staff enough for their professionalism, especially the head waiter. He was attentive and timely to our needs at our wedding table. He helped make the evening fun.
We would highly recommend the Venetian Terrace for a wedding reception. We might add that leaving the reception on the Gondola was an added treat to make our event special and memorable.
This restaurant was able to do our wedding cake with fresh roses - it was very nicely done.

I cannot say enough good things about this venue. It's gorgeous, right on the canal, secluded. Such a lovely, lovely venue. And affordable. I did a lot of research before selec...
ting the Venetian Terrace, and I can tell you that it greatly outshines every other venue of comparable pricing and probably most (if not all) of the more expensive ones.
The service is great, too. Renetta was always available by email to answer my questions (and boy did I have a lot). Sometimes I had problems communicating with Mona—mostly because I think I struggled articulating my thoughts and ideas to her which is my fault, not hers—but Renetta was always there if Mona and I couldn’t get something done. Also, we had a day-of coordinator, Belinda Goodman of JaBel Productions (her husband was also our DJ, please see their vendor page for a review, they’re awesome), and Renetta worked wonderfully with Belinda. Our photo booth people (Snap Shot Parties) were two hours late and still had not even brought their equipment into the building at the time that the ceremony was due to start in the courtyard. Renetta and her staff (and Belinda) worked with the rude and obstinate photo booth rep and were able to get her and her equipment in the back door and all set up before my short ceremony was over—without my guests even knowing there was a problem. When your venue steps up to fix problems caused by some other vendor—that’s what I call good service.
The food was wonderful! We got lots and lots of compliments from our guests. The buffet was fully stocked—we even had leftovers. And the food was out on time—despite the problems caused by the photobooth people and the fact that the photo booth equipment had to be brought in through the prep area since they were so late. The alcohol service was great, too. We definitely feel like we got our money’s worth. The bartender was fun and courteous to my guests.
Also, I must stress the fact that you get the venue ALL DAY LONG! I am a control-freak who made and designed most of my decorations and so I LOVED that I was able to show up at 10 am and decorate so I could be sure it looked exactly the way I wanted. Being able decorate early—then move on to get dressed knowing everything was in place really lowered my stress level that day. And when rain threatened my decorations, the VT staff stepped up to the plate. I had an arch decorated with flowers and since rain was in the forecast, my florist suggested I get a tarp to protect it if it rained before the ceremony—but to only use it as long as necessary so as not to smash the flowers. It rained a few hours after I had left decorating but before the ceremony—while I was in my hotel room getting read. I had left the tarp just in case and asked Renetta to put the tarp out if necessary. I could see the courtyard from my hotel balcony at the Omni. Just as I asked—the VT staff put the tarp up when it rained and took it down as soon as it was over. I was very impressed. They had no idea I was watching :)
I would recommend the VT to any other bride—whole-heartedly.
The Venetian is great place to hold a small wedding. The wedding was outside. My Labor Day wedding was very nice. Pros: We had a customized sit down dinner reception for 100 guests...
inside. The food (salmon, pork tenderloin, and chicken) and champagne was superb and plentiful. The wait staff were very attentive. I was nervous about the wait staff's understanding of English based off of other reviews, but we did not have any problems. Everyone was served within minutes of each other. There is a personal waiter for the bridal table. Cons: For inside receptions, 100 persons is a little crowded. I would limit the guests to 75-80 especially if you want to have a decent dance floor. If there is a wedding the day/night before, your vendors may be delayed setting up for your happy occasion. The vines on the outside wall were burned (brown) due to the summer heat. BEWARE OF THE 20 % SERVICE CHARGE. MONA AND SASHA WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT THE 20 % UPCHARGE UNTIL FINAL PAYMENT!!! We were told we would have a sample tasting of the food and that did not happen. When we inquired about it, Mona and Sasha provided plenty of excuses. But, the food was excellent and everyone got a lot My only real complaint is the 20 % upcharge.
We had our wedding reception at the Venetian Terrace, and it was a great evening. The food was delicious and servers were attentive. We have 100+ guests so it took a little time to ...
get the food out, but that was fine. We were married in October, so we took advantage of the outside terrace for dancing - it was perfect. It is a romantic setting for an evening wedding on the Canal.
A pretty and unique venue located in the canals of Las Colinas. You can even getaway in a gondola!
The manager Mona was fantastic. The place was beautiful; They let ants get in our wedding cake
