She is professional, kind, and so organized. No matter how big or small the question, she always took the time to answer and reassure me. One of the most important aspects for me personally was the food. Having Celiac Disease, eating safely is always a huge concern. Vernon Downs and Brandy went above and beyond to make sure I could enjoy my meal without worry, and let me tell you—the food was amazing! Even our guests who don’t have dietary restrictions kept raving about how delicious everything was. That meant so much to me, to not only feel safe but to have a meal that everyone truly enjoyed. The bridal suite was another highlight. It was spacious enough to comfortably fit my entire bridal party, which made getting ready together so much fun and stress-free. Little details like that made such a big difference in the flow of the day. Our guests had just as wonderful of an experience as we did. They loved the convenience of being able to stay right at the venue, relax between events, and not have to worry about transportation. Many commented on how beautiful the space was, how smooth the day felt, and how well everything was coordinated. Knowing that our loved ones were comfortable and having a great time made our celebration even more special. Overall, Vernon Downs and Brandy exceeded every expectation we had. From the accommodations, to the food, to the amazing staff, everything came together perfectly. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives, and we are so grateful to Vernon Downs and Brandy for making it all possible. The terrace was the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony with breathtaking views in the background! The ballroom is a spacious canvas to make any color or decor scheme come to life. All of our guests have not stopping talking about how much they enjoyed the food/drinks as well! All of the staff was beyond gracious and friendly! Brandy handled every ask flawlessly and really made our vision come to life! She is THE BEST! Planning our wedding at Vernon Downs was the best decision we could have ever make and I highly recommend this venue for anyone else looking to plan a wedding/event!

n Downs has very reasonable room rates and nice rooms. They offer several wedding packages at the BEST rates around! The packages include a free 2 night stay in the honeymoon suite plus use of a bridal suite for the bride and her wedding party to get ready in on the day of the wedding. It was also the perfect spot for a few of our guests to gather for a while after the reception! The packages include so much more but too much to list here. We opted for a buffet dinner and we were able to mix and match the packages to come up with the perfect package for us! The food was excellent and received rave reviews from our guests. The wait staff were so accommodating and friendly during the reception and during the farewell breakfast the following day. On to the wedding manager.....Brandy Crayton! She is the absolute best! She would respond to my emails in record time, answering all my questions and putting my mind at ease. She met with us personally to review every decoration we were bringing so she could be sure it was set up exactly as we wanted it. She's there on the day of the wedding to make sure all goes as planned. I did not worry one bit about the reception because I knew Brandy had a handle on it and it would be perfect! I cannot praise her enough.....she is that good! Our guests are still talking about our reception and what a great venue Vernon Downs is! Kudos to Brandy, all the staff and the cooks......you did an excellent job!!!!

Vernon Downs. First of all, Vernon Downs is absolutely beautiful throughout the year. Secondly, there are outdoor and indoor ceremony options that give peace of mind if the weather does not cooperate with one’s vision. And thirdly, this venue is accompanied by the one and only Brandy Crayton. She is the wedding sales manager and she makes sure that no detail is overlooked and that everything runs smoothly. She is prompt to reply to any and every question. And she is fun and professional. Finally, Vernon Downs is reasonably priced and includes so much in the wedding package. Our catering, tables (and linens$, and our honeymoon and bridal suite were included in the price. If this doesn’t convince you to book your event with Brandy at Vernon Downs…nothing will!

food was great and I really liked the convenience of having the rehearsal, ceremony, reception, and farewell breakfast all at the same venue. It was great having so many people from the wedding stay right at the hotel since so many of our guests were from out of town. The guests really loved being able to watch some races during the wedding and being able to continue the party in the casino after.

The bridal suite is beautiful and large enough to accommodate wedding parties and hair/makeup vendors for getting ready before the big day and the honeymoon suite was the perfect way to end the night. The food was delicious, and we had nothing but compliments from our guests on the buffet options we chose. Above all, we cannot say enough about how incredible the staff is, especially Brandy the wedding coordinator. She helped to make our day perfect down to the last detail with everything including our menu, decorations, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour and of course the reception. I cannot say enough good things about her. From the beginning to the end, she answered any and all questions, always responded incredibly quickly, was always friendly and seemed happy to help, and was just absolutely fantastic to work with. She helped to make all of our decorating and layout ideas come to life and coordinated with our vendors which was a huge help. We are beyond happy with our decision to have had our reception at Vernon Downs and would highly recommend it.

more favorable Vernon Downs' packages were compared to everywhere else. So much is included for such a reasonable price when you book with them! Our guests were able to book rooms for only $99 a night because they were having a winter special. We got the honeymoon suite complimentary for two nights, which was recently remodeled and had a great aesthetic. It comes with a Jacuzzi which was much needed! We also had use of their bridal suite which was bright and spacious and had everything we needed. Our ceremony and reception took place in the ballroom which was gorgeous, and easily fit our 150 guests with a large dance floor. We chose a plated package and heard only good things about the meals. (My husband and I could barely eat from the nerves!) They serve large portions, and you get to try everything a few months ahead of time at a complimentary private tasting! The open bar is included in your package, and the bartenders and staff were so friendly and accommodating. And lets not forget Brandy! She is the coordinator, and full-time superhero. She rolled with every crazy request I threw at her (including the 2 truckloads of decorations we brought). I'm pretty sure she never sleeps because she is always available, and responds to emails basically immediately. She also worked seamlessly with my vendors, which took a lot off my plate. There is no question she cant answer and no problem she cant handle. My husband and I didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding weekend - the staff took care of it all. From set up to take down, from the rehearsal dinner to the morning after, they were on top of it. I've rarely heard of a wedding flowing as seamlessly as mine did and it is all thanks to Brandy and Vernon Downs. Run, don't walk to book this venue!

I could go on & on about every little thing… from Brandy rearranging or helping me with wedding guests reservations to the staff out there the morning of my wedding leaf blowing the chairs to make sure they were dry from the rain the night before. The weekend was incredible. We received so many compliments from the guests. Wish we could do it all over again. I completely recommend Vernon Downs!

Then when our date 9/17/21 finally came they did not disappoint. The day was perfect! Brandy was amazing and made things for me so much less stressful. Vernon Downs is the best venue that I would highly recommend to anyone. My guests raved about the food as well!

We had some last minute guest count changes and seating changes which he handled greatly and completely eliminated the stress on our part. Day of the wedding, he was on top of everything!! Had some threat of rain, but Eric had a game plan for everything! He could not have made our wedding day easier or more enjoyable! I could seriously go on for pages on how fabulous he was to work with! The venue itself is incredible, lots of gorgeous places for pictures both inside and out. The race track offers a unique opportunity to use bets as favors! The food at the venue was also incredible! Guests are still raving about how delicious everything was! I have zero complaints or any criticism to offer towards the venue/staff. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to in a long time! I would recommend getting married here to anyone! They also work hard to fit whatever your dream wedding is into whatever budget you may have to work with, which is wonderful in itself! We LOVED having our wedding here!

downfall is you have to decorate it yourself which can be pricey. You need a company to go in and do a lot of the decorating due to high ceilings and needing liability insurance.

e not originally happy with our preliminary food tasting but in the end we got nothing but sincere compliments on the food. If the weather permits, the use of the terrace for cocktail hour gives a reception a beautiful twist. Overlooking the racetrack on a beautiful day makes a truly scenic backdrop for photos and it's nice to give the guests an outdoor option if they choose to venture up there at some point during the reception. We would not recommend Mr. G's which is a small eatery off the lobby. The service wasn't great and the food is nothing to write home about. The eateries in the casino are great though, and even though there are no table games at this casino the slot machines were a great compliment to the end of the night as was the bar in the casino area. We received great service and all the vendors seemed to work well with our wedding planner from Vernon. Overall, we would absolutely recommend Vernon Downs as a place to have your wedding reception.

d not give them a 5 is because of the hotel staff. I was told they operate separately and they were not very accommodating. A couple of my guests had to wait well past check in time for there rooms to be ready, I was told the hotel check in people were rude by my guests as well as my other vendors when asked questions. I would recommend Vernon as a wedding venue, just don't expect much out of the people at the hotel counter.
