Village House at Litchfield

I cannot imagine what our wedding would have been had we not chosen Village House in Litchfield! When I say from start to finish it was a 5 star experience, I truly mean it. Julia is the best part of the venue -- from day one she has been our biggest help and cheerleader. She has a fantastic assistant Shelby who is wonderful as well. I fell in love last year with this venue from photos -- primarily the chandelier that sits dead center of the venue. We ended up booking the venue before seeing it in person. About a month later on our family vacation, we went to see it in person and it brought tears to my eyes! It was everything I dreamed of and more. The photos don't even do justice. It has the most gorgeous wood floors, large windows with an adorable pond backdrop, string lights in the court yard with a gazebo (WITH a chandelier inside -- so dreamy!), screened in porches, huge - beautiful metal bars, a fantastic grooms suite, and bridesmaid suites that has such charm! Now let's get into the food.. when I asked my brother his favorite meal in Pawleys Island/Litchfield because we had gone to multiple restaurants throughout our trip his reply was "your wedding food -- the beef tenderloin" -- We've had multiple people call and text about how delicious everything was and the variety. We went with the crab cake and fried mac & cheese for appetizers -- for stations we selected the shrimp & grits, beef tenderloin, pizza station, mashed potato bar, and mini salads. Truly something for every guest to enjoy! We went with the liqour/wine/beer bar and they were able to make our specialty cocktails which were Tom Collins and Old Fashion. Everyone was able to grab a drink of their choice and had great things to say about the drinks and the service. Everyone had such great spirits and a smile on their face. But truly we need to go back to Julia on this review because we could not have had done this without her. She is an absolute gem! She gives fantastic advice, has positivity, and you can even hire her to help set up/pack up. She is worth every penny plus MORE! She made us feel so at ease from the time we met her last year and the day of the wedding she would come up to check on me, ask how I was feeling, and got me pumped by saying we are getting you married today! She also was very good at guiding us along throughout the night. It truly does go in a blink of an eye - so she made sure we stayed on timeline, and kept the night moving along. She felt like more than a day of coordinator, she felt like a friend. She gives you a list of recommended vendors which we used everyone off her list with the exception of our photographer (who we ordered, and I'm sure Julia and her will meet again!) It was so comforting that from the officiant (Benji) to the DJ (Mike) to the cake vendor (Holly) to the rentals (EventWorks) to the florist (Greenskeeper Florist/Patti) and to the hair/make up (Stox & CO) -- that this team has worked numerous events together!
