We had our daughter’s September 2025 wedding at Virginia Crossings in Glen Allen, Va (Richmond area). It is a boutique plantation-style hotel on 20 acres with a street lamp lined...
curving drive up to the main buildings. Our guests raved about the gorgeous estate-like grounds, the service, and the delicious, beautifully presented food. Many of our guests have lived in the Richmond area for years and never realized Virginia Crossings existed. It’s such a hidden gem! Chef Ashby knocked it out of the park with the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres and plated dinner entrees. The portions were huge and so yummy! I’m still dreaming about the salmon with English pea puree and risotto.
The wedding package prices are reasonable for what you get. Packages range from $110 to $140 per person (plus a 23% admin fee, taxes, and tips) and include a 4 hour open bar, 4 passed and 2 stationary hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour, 3 course plated or buffet dinner, cake cutting, champagne toast for all guests, a Day of Coordinator and assistant, floor length linens and choice of napkin color, upgraded china, all glassware and silverware, tables and chairs, 5 hours of event time, ample getting ready spaces for both bridal parties, and a night’s stay in the Bridal Suite for the bride and groom. If you choose to have your ceremony on site, there is a $2000 site fee. You can get married in the lovely outdoor courtyard garden or other outdoor space, the interior Madison Lobby or in one of the smaller event rooms. Their rain plan is exceptional. It rained on my daughter’s wedding day, and they didn’t miss a beat. And because the interior spaces are so beautiful, there were plenty of spots for great pictures inside.
Because the property has a hotel building, 2/3 of our 137 guests stayed on site for the whole weekend. Our family members who arrived on Thursday told us that the grounds crew was busy mowing, weeding, and trimming to make everything look perfect. And they saw cleaning crews in all the public areas scrubbing and polishing until the hotel sparkled. The hotel staff also handed out our Welcome Bags to our guests as they checked in.
Without a doubt, the BEST thing about having a wedding at Virginia Crossings was working with Jeffery Ward in conference and event sales. He, his assistant Elise, and his staff worked incredibly hard to make our daughter’s wedding flow seamlessly. Leading up to the wedding, he tirelessly answered all my many questions, continually put my mind at ease when I started stressing about executing our vision for the wedding day, and he took all the stress off of me on her actual day, so I could enjoy getting ready with my daughter and her bridesmaids in the hotel’s huge Bridal Room and be fully present during her ceremony and reception. He kept us calm when the rain derailed our plans for a garden ceremony, and he kept us dry as we entered the Madison Lobby for the nuptials! He managed all our vendors, ran the rehearsal, organized the bridal party, kept us on track with our timeline, and even helped bustle the bride’s dress. Jeffery also executed our vision for the cocktail hour and ballroom spaces flawlessly! When the doors to the ballroom opened for dinner, I rushed in so that I could see it all decorated before it filled with our guests. And it literally took my breath away! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! So romantic and dreamy! He and his team did such an incredible job setting it all up! He planned for the bride and groom to have their own private cocktail hour and gave them a sneak peek of the ballroom before their guests entered. The wedding day exceeded their expectations in every way! Her friends can’t stop gushing about it either. And at the end of the night, having Jeffery and his team gather everything up for us and stash it all in one spot made load out on Sunday after our Family Brunch such a breeze. Not having to worry about packing everything up until the next day was such a blessing! Because of him and his team, we were able to fully enjoy the After Party in the Tavern with our family and friends. The hot pretzels were a huge hit after 4 hours of open bar!
The wedding weekend included an After Party with late night snack in the Tavern (right down the hall from the ballroom). They kept the Tavern, which usually closes at 10:00 pm, open until midnight for us. We also had a Family Brunch on Sunday for 45 people in a private room of the hotel’s restaurant. The bride’s grandfather hosted the brunch, and it was delicious and reasonably priced.
Take a look at Virginia Crossings! We had an amazing experience there!

erous meetings. As a result on the wedding day there was chaos. The music didn't play, there were the wrong number of tables, and the event host for the day had an attitude with me (the bride) for asking her to fix it. Random people were walking through the event (an issue I addressed before signing) and she told me the hotel guest were allowed to walk wherever. I called the overall manager the next business day and he told me she was their planner was the best and I must have been making it up. He said he would check into it and I never heard back from him. I was very disappointed. The food was amazing and the rest of the staff did an awesome job. Not sure if I would go back and I definitely would not recommend them for future weddings.
Amazing service, amazing staff, amazingly manicured property. Not one negative thing I can think of about this venue from the very first meeting through post-wedding wrap up. This...
was one of the best venues I have ever experienced and will definitely go back and recommend to others over and over.

ere was phenomenal, as were the rest of the staff. They completely accommodated my gluten free needs, and went out of their way to research the best gluten free EVERYTHING and it was all wonderful. Everyone said that the food was the BEST wedding food they've ever had. The location was beautiful and we were able to have the ceremony outside with the fall leaves on the ground. They went out of their way to make our day the most perfect it could be, and it was. It was just dreamy.
Friends of mine got married here and the venue was beautiful.

rful experience! We worked with their full-time wedding coordinator, TeriLynne, who is absolutely fabulous! She let us tour the entire facility and let us come back a second time with our parents before committing to the location (all while holding our date for us while we made up our mind). She took care of every single detail for us and was incredibly trustworthy. My husband and I knew that if we asked TeriLynne to do something for us or to remember a detail for us, she and her extremely competent staff would take care of it. Not to mention, our guests LOVED the location! The check-in area is beautiful, the hotel is immaculate and well taken care of, the on-site restaurant and tavern are relaxing and delicious, and the nearby golf course and swimming pool provide entertainment for guests. My husband and I only held our reception (and not our ceremony) at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings, because we wanted to get married in a church, but they have beautiful outdoor gardens for wedding ceremonies.
This venue provides all food and drink, some decorations, tables, chairs, dance floor, etc. Everything came out very well.

ntleman at the front desk had locked himself out of his computer and so he was unable to retrieve anyone's reservation for about 20 minutes. Needless to say for a couple on their honeymoon night this was very frustrating. The room was nice but the area and parking around the hotel was hard to navigate.
My wedding was coordinated by TeriLynn Peterson. She answered every question quickly. She was there from the beginning all the way to the end to make sure that my day ran smoothly...
and met all my expectations. The venue, the food, and the staff were wonderful!
