We are so happy to have chosen virtue for our wedding ceremony and reception! It is a beautiful venue and the food was delicious! Emily ensued a smooth and easy planning and set up. The staff during the ceremony were excellent!
We had our rehearsal dinner at Virtue Feed & Grain and we are so glad that we did! The location is absolutely amazing and the food was so great! Emily and her team did a wonderful job helping us plan the dinner and were so helpful in set-up day of. We highly recommend Virtue Feed & Grain!
Found this place by accident and we are so happy we did! We were just having lunch in Old Town and found out that they did events/weddings! Emily was incredible to work with and was so helpful in bringing our event to life and keeping everything running smoothly. We did the second floor buyout which was the perfect option for our event (~100 guests). The bar and entire second floor is just beautiful. We had our ceremony and reception here. The staff really did a great job of moving furniture, etc. to transition from a ceremony space to a reception space with a dance floor. Such a great vibe and slightly more relaxed setting for our wedding; it was exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend this place!!
We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Virtue Feed and Grain. Amber was great to work with leading up to the day, and the staff was very kind and helpful for the event. One of the AC units was out which made for a fairly hot August evening, but all the guests were enjoying the food and drinks too much to leave early! :) And the staff did what they could to keep it comfortable. It has such a unique/special feel and all our guests complimented the venue and being near the waterfront. We'd recommend Virtue for future event needs.
Amber and her team did an incredible job making our wedding vision come to life. We rented out the top floor and did a sit down dinner for our family which transitioned into a cocktail reception with family and friends. The food and drinks were incredible, the staff was extremely attentive, and the venue itself provided the exact amount of rustic charm we were looking for. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was all on account of Amber and her fantastic staff.
Virtue Feed & Grain was the perfect space for what we envisioned for our brunch wedding. Amber at Virtue was very easy to work with and was able to accommodate the changes that we requested. Amber worked with her team to adjust the second floor into a space for both our ceremony and reception by moving furniture and being flexible throughout the wedding. Our guests not only loved the brunch buffet, but they also gave rave reviews about the appetizers and drinks. One of the best things about this venue is that they let us use the decorations that they already had on hand. It was everything we envisioned and more!
Fantastic place for a wedding! We did a rustic/Harry Potter themed wedding and the decor and layout of VF&G was perfect! Amber and the staff are top professionals and we felt extremely fortunate to have them on our team. Thank you VF&G!!!!!❤️
Amber, the Events Manager at Virtue, Feed & Grain was absolutely fantastic to work with. She had a great attitude and a very calming demeanor, which really helped minimize any of my stress. We held a wedding reception for 30 people in the Porch Room and everything came out great. We met with Amber multiple times and she was always happy to meet with us. We were able to see the room set up for another event and test out the music and photo presentation. Regarding the photo presentation that we displayed on the TV screen, she let us know ahead of time that PowerPoint is usually not compatible with the device so we were able to look for alternatives from the beginning. She was also very flexible when it came to the food menu and allowed us to customize the menu (two courses) and bring in our own cake, which the staff cut for us.
The staff helped set everything up before the event, including escort cards, gift table, guest book and In Loving Memory Table. Amber allowed us to drop off the decorations early on the day of the wedding, which really helped keep the bridal party on schedule. The staff also provided menus on each plate and handled the clean up as well. Everyone was very attentive and made sure the drink refills were flowing.
All of the guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and the portion sizes were huge. The room can be a bit dim, but again the staff was great and turned the lights on, which the photographer really appreciated.
Again, Amber was amazing and I would definitely host another party there in the future!
We had our wedding at Virtue on November 17, 2017. Our experience the day of was amazing. The food was incredible - we got so many compliments from our guests. The venue also just speaks for itself in how cool it is. We rented the second floor for our reception, and the expansive bar and cool rustic but industrial feel was just so neat. Old Town Alexandria itself is such an awesome location for out of town guests (which was everybody including myself and my husband) with how quaint and perfect the area is. The service staff was great - the bartender even went downstairs to bring up their nicest scotch for my husband and his buddies to cheers to!
We had a great experience with our wedding of 80 guests. I hired a wedding coordinator, Sincerely Pete Events to help with managing the set-up with Virtue staff and other vendors. Emily, the senior Events Manager at Virtue was so great. She was so sweet and accommodating and incredibly helpful with executing everything at the end. Her assistant Amber however was newer and unfortunately wasn't as helpful in the months leading up, so when Emily came back I felt much better as she was able to answer all my questions in more detail and accommodate our requests, as seating arrangements and how to arrange the tables together in the groups I needed, was very stressful. Amber unfortunately was not that helpful, making me feel like I was inconveniencing her for asking questions, so I was relieved to have help from Sarah my coordinator from Sincerely Pete Events, and then when Emily, the senior Events Manager, came back and assisted with final details from taking some time off. Despite my initial worries, Virtue came through in the end beautifully, and our wedding reception was so great. I would have had 5 stars with everything if my concerns and questions were addressed better in the months leading up to the event. Even with my initial frustrations, this place is great and so unique to have a wedding there!
The food was fantastic and our wait staff was very professional and efficient.
We had a romantic Christmas Eve Wedding at Virtue Feed and Grain on December 24, 2016. Emily was fantastic to work with and was flexible with all our requests. The food was fantastic and the venue was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We posted some of our pictures of venue and of the beautiful bride and groom on Pinterest. We had approximately 75 guests and all were accommodated well on top floor of the venue. Pricing is very reasonable and service was fantastic, especially for Christmas Eve. I highly recommend for a rustic, romantic wedding. Thank you Emily and sorry so late on this post!
We had our wedding in early January of 2017, and everything was fantastic! Emily, our event coordinator, was SUPER flexible with us, as we were planning from a distance and had a lot of questions and needed to make changes during our rehearsal. The bartenders and servers were also fantastic; they took such good care of us and our guests. The food was excellent, and the bartenders helped us find exactly the cocktails we wanted. There were lots of different ways to configure the menu to get the details just right; our wedding was really small, but there were definitely options for larger parties, too! We rented the Porch room, which holds about 45 people, but the other spaces (while considerably more expensive) were also beautiful. Definitely go for a tour if you're considering Old Town as a location!
We recently held our wedding reception on the 2nd floor. Everything was superb. Emily and the staff were always attentive and willing to answer questions during planning and during the event. The guests all raved about the food and service. And the space barely needs decorations because it's already so beautiful. Book Virtue as often as possible for your special event! You won't regret it.
