er vendors and the food is delicious. The crème brûlée cake is a must! They worked with us every step of the way and made the process so much less stressful then it has to be. Definitely a great vendor and highly recommend for anyone else looking for a caterer. Rico really cares about his customers and makes you know you are a priority. Great service and one that cares for their customers.
We used them as our bartending service at our wedding! They were extremely nice and did an amazing job. We had brought it a lot of alcohol, so they showed up early to make sure eve...
rything was set up. My husband and I also had signature drinks that we were only allowed to have, they made sure to only serve them to us no matter how much people tried. We were worried about to drink wait time during cocktail hour, but from what we heard, there was not a huge wait and our guests were happy. Great staff to work with!
I don't even know where to start with this review - there are so many amazing things I need to say about Rico and his team at Vizcarra Catering. The experience truly begins when he...
comes to your home to do the menu tasting. It was such a fun experience to have him over and really get to know him, and of course try the delicious food that makes your catering decision really easy. He also brings sample linens and china and is so knowledgeable about every aspect of not just catering, but also place settings and the timing of appetizers and food throughout the event. Having Rico in charge of all the food, drinks, and linens made the process so much easier instead of having to think about three or four separate vendors - his all-inclusive packages are worth every penny.
The day of the wedding his team was there early and were on hand for any questions. When the lights went out literally right before the ceremony / dinner, Rico jumped into action with my coordinator (Arin Lane of Lasting Memories Weddings and Events, who is also amazing), and they worked together with the other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly until the power came back on. Not only is he one of the most genuine and friendly people I've ever met, his food is incredible. I still have people telling me how amazing the dinner was! I can't recommend Chef Rico and Vizcarra Catering enough. He also put me in contact with Arin, our planner. The two work together frequently and hiring them both will make your life so much easier. When there are so many things to think about on a wedding day, having the two of them taking care of things made it possible for my husband I to focus on each other and our special day instead of everything going on around us. I am so thankful for them both!

Such a joy working with Frederico! The food was delicious and hot and just like we enjoyed at our trial. This was particularly impressive as the staff had only a prep kitchen to wo...
rk with. The table settings looked great and were truly befitting the colors and tone of the wedding. Additionally the staff were professional and friendly. We elected to provide our own alcohol, but Frederico was very helpful guiding us to ensure adequate quantities. It was so wonderful to not have to stress over catering and know that Frederico and his team had everything in hand. We highly recommend!!

y great.
Follow-through isn't so great. The food at the wedding was okay - not nearly as good as the meal prepared at our home. The meat was more dry and less tender. There were some service flaws. He uses tortillas that come in plastic wrappers, and the wrappers were visible on the serving line. The people he hired to do things like pick up used plates had to be reminded multiple times to clear the tables before cake was served. And even then, there were dirty dishes on tables at cake time, while the workers were standing idle.
The worst flaw, though, was the cake. When we agreed to let him provide the cake, he was told that the bride had a sensitivity to strawberries, so there could be no strawberries in the cake. We ordered a white cake with dulce de leche filling and buttercream frosting, and this was recorded on our contract. He brought this cake to our house to sample, and it was good. However, the cake that arrived at the wedding was a tres leeches cake with strawberries in the filling - clearly not what we ordered. When we pointed this out, his first response was that he "didn't make mistakes." Later, he blamed it on someone else (he apparently has no control over the product, which means he ought not be in the cake business). So - we had a bride who was unable to eat her own wedding cake. He charges $6 per serving - which is pretty outrageous considering half of the cake, including the top, was thrown away.
Additionally, the cake arrived at the venue looking pathetic. There were large gaps between the layers that he had no intention of fixing - he thought it looked fine. I had to ask the florist to return with additional flowers to cover the gaps in the cake layers. So rather than the simple cake with a few flowers, we had a cake that had a lot of flowers between the layers.
To his credit, he did bring a cake that was close to what we'd ordered to our house a week later. Of course, one can't re-do a wedding but the gesture was nice.
All in all - he's a nice enough guy, but I'd go a different direction if I had it to do again.
We used Vizcarra Hospitality for our daughters wedding. Rico came to our home to prepare the meal for us in advance. I felt as if we were friends by the time the night was over. ...
