Vizcaya Sacramento is a stunning wedding venue located at the heart of downtown Sacramento, CA. This historic property, dating all the way back to 1889, was once home to Philip Driver, one of the city's most iconic attorneys. The estate's unique historical background would soon ignite the intrigue of investors, who later transformed it into an idyllic spot for weddings and nuptial events. Since its refurbishment 25 years ago, Vizcaya Sacramento has hosted hundreds upon hundreds of heartfelt "I dos," establishing itself as an ideal location for happily ever afters and brand new chapters.
Featuring classic Victorian architecture and decor, Vizcaya Sacramento bursts with elegance and grandeur. With crown moldings, panoramic bay windows, and regal Victorian-era furniture, this venue has all its guests feeling like royalty. A large event facility that sprawls over 6,500 square feet, Vizcaya Sacramento can host large parties of up to 240 guests and boasts a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for wedding celebrations. Couples can exchange vows al fresco-style in the property's spacious courtyard, framed by exotic, eccentric flora and lush trees whose leaves burst in a rainbow of colors. Happy hour mingling and champagne glass clinking can take place on Vizcaya Sacramento's red-brick terrace, draped in twinkling string lights for a festive feel. The pavilion welcomes couples and guests with open arms and features plenty of room for dining and dancing. The property also hosts a range of en suite Victorian-style rooms where the soon-to-be spouses can dress to the nines for the big day ahead.
The Vizcaya Sacramento team does its very best to provide top-quality party services. On-site planners and coordinators make sure every wedding is smooth sailing, connecting all the dots and creating streamlined experiences for all couples. It is our understanding that there were a few staffing/management changes happening at Vizcaya this past year, which resulted in some of the negative reviews
recently listed. We too had a change in venue coordinator pretty late in the game - however, my wife and I had a good handle on planning our wedding and luckily our handoff to Andrea was fairly seamless. Bottom line is that we couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding than Vizcaya! The location is absolutely breathtaking, and it looked like something out of a fairy tale as the sun set during our ceremony. The atmosphere at dusk was magical, with the lights twinkling and everything perfectly set to capture that dreamy ambiance we were hoping for.
Once our coordinator transition happened, the Vizcaya team was incredible. They went above and beyond to accommodate all of our vendor schedules and even made last-minute time changes work without a hitch. The bridal suite was the ideal space for getting ready, spacious and elegant, creating a relaxing and fun environment for us and our bridal party.
Our rehearsal the day before was seamless, and the staff ensured everything went smoothly and kept us all calm and organized. Our new coordinator, Andrea, didn’t miss a beat. She jumped right in and brought such positive energy, making sure every detail was handled – and we were lucky enough to have another venue coordinator, Haley, come on board for our rehearsal and for the big day – her help was absolutely invaluable! All in all, Vizcaya and its amazing team made our wedding day unforgettable, and we’re so grateful for the exceptional service and stunning setting they provided!

Vizcaya was an amazing venue! Their professionalism, communication, attention to detail and organization was one of the best experiences I had with a vendor and they were so pleasant to work with! Would definitely use them again. They took care of everything we needed, made great suggestions, and we felt supported through the whole process. We love you Haley, thank you for creating such a wonderful experience!!

I wanted to share some feedback from our wedding, which took place at Vizcaya on September 20th. First, I'd like to start by saying that Vizcaya is a beautiful venue, and we chose it because it offers a stunning setting for such a special day. However, we did encounter a few significant challenges that I feel are important to bring to your attention.
One of the most concerning issues was the lack of security. Despite paying for security services, there was none present during the event. Unfortunately, my groomsmen and I had to handle an incident with a disruptive individual ourselves, which was quite stressful during such an important moment.
Additionally, we had issues with the food. Although we had fewer guests than expected (175 confirmed, but 21 were unable to attend), there still wasn’t enough food for everyone, and many of our guests went without. It was only when I intervened that more food was brought out, though the staff initially told me they were out of options. To make matters worse, we noticed workers eating before some guests were served, which was disappointing.
Communication leading up to the event was also a challenge. Responses to emails were often delayed, and we frequently had to call to follow up on important details. On the day of the wedding, the staff member who assisted us was dressed far too casually for the occasion, which stood out given the formal nature of the event.
While we’re still waiting for a response to some of our concerns, I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for other couples. If others choose Vizcaya, I’d recommend providing their own security and being prepared to follow up frequently for responses.

I would never recommend this venue to anyone. I am honestly so hurt with how I have been treated, and I didn’t even make it to the wedding day.
Our coordinator was changed three times in the span of a year because they all left the venue, and one alluded that they were being offered higher paying jobs. The second coordinator we had highly criticized the choices we had in place and said we would look like alcoholics if we allowed everyone to take a shot at our ceremony. This was an idea we saw on Pinterest and was already set with our first coordinator, but I felt pressure to make changes because of the judgement I felt from her. We did not even get to meet the third one as our package only included three meetings and the last one was set for right before the wedding.
Unfortunately my fiancé and I have decided to seperate. I was not expecting a refund of the initial deposit, but I wanted to see if there was any way to get the other money invested back especially because my dad had put $10,000 in. In my email to cancel, I said this and was sent a cancellation form to fill out that said I would have 14 days to return otherwise I would still be held responsible for the remaining payments and had no chance of a refund. I decided not to sign it yet as at the time my ex and I were not yet 100% broken up yet, and I wanted to see if there were any chance for any refund. I have called and talked to/left messages for multiple coordinators (as they continue to leave the venue too might I add) since April to see if this was still possible or if I could at least change the type of event. Even if it was a no, this is a lot of money invested and I just wanted an answer. I’d be so upset with myself if I found out later that I could have had an opportunity to save this and just hadn’t tried hard enough. I also had other vendors and family/friends that said I should ask because they had had experiences where other venues did something like this. Every time, they said that they will have someone else call me back to discuss details which led to me to believe there was still a chance… but nobody would ever call me back, so I would call back and get the same response.
The second to last time I called, I spoke to a coordinator named Alexa and she was very kind and seemed very empathetic to the situation. She said she would have the coordinator in charge of my event contact me back, but that Rachelle (our 3rd coordinator who apparently also suddenly quit) had processed our cancellation even without my signed form. Again this isn’t a no… this had my hopes up. I called yesterday to speak to her again because nobody had called me back, and I got the same answer but it felt less empathetic and at some point she even asked what would lead me to believe that there was any possibility of saving this. Tbh that kinda broke me and led me to leave this review. Someone could have just said no in the beginning if it wasn’t possible instead of saying someone would call me back to talk details. I keep being told maybe so why would I just shrug that off? I don’t think they’re going to call me back which sucks because weddings are so expensive and not everyone was given a savings for this. For us, this was the thing I worked overtime at multiple jobs to save up for a perfect day and now any salvaging it has been ruined. I’ve cried for months stressed over this and it doesn’t seem like they even care. If I were to host another event there, I would have needed time to plan.

We had our wedding at Vizcaya in May of this year and were very excited leading up to the event. Unfortunately, our onsite coordinator dropped out the day before the wedding without any notice to us, and we found this out during our rehearsal 24 hrs before the wedding. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of stress leading up to the event and had a ripple effect that impacted the wedding day in many different ways. The team that took over did their best to play catch up and help us execute our event, but unfortunately there were a few things that really missed the mark. This was a 200 person cultural wedding with a lot of moving parts so to lose your coordinator the day before was a massive blow.
One of our new coordinators was extremely stressed out during our day and was causing undue stress and panic for our wedding parties and us (bride & groom). She was telling bridesmaids to walk at the wrong time, she was late to grab the groom for the start of the wedding, and overall had a negative impact on our day.
The next big area of frustration was the fact that the uplighting for the reception, was not setup so our entire reception hall had obnoxious overhead LED lighting that was incredibly bright and not at all the mood/ambiance we were hoping for.
After the wedding we were hoping to speak about what went poorly during our wedding and get some kind of refund since there were so many issues and many things where we did not get what was promised. They had one of our coordinators jump on with us to tell us they were sorry and hear us out, and then they read us a list of issues that management experienced from our side of things. This part was pretty insulting considering we had just gone through an incredibly stressful event with them and they objectively messed up in key areas, most importantly our coordinator who we had been working with for months disappeared the day before the wedding. Instead of trying to make it right they told us about the things that we did wrong. This list was ridiculous and included things like "a vendor was rude to us", "something was spilled on the floor in the reception hall", "there were extra tables we needed to setup" and "someone was smoking on the property". While I can appreciate these are inconvenient and challenges you might experience during a wedding as the venue, it was really insulting that this was brought up in contrast to the areas they fell short. It was almost as if because these things happened it balances out the fact that they messed up so badly. At the end of the call we asked to speak to management about a refund because we understood that it wasn’t up to the coordinator to decide. She said she would reach out and get back to us. It’s been almost 2 months since we met with her and we’ve followed up multiple times and gotten no response.
Vizcaya has had a lot of turnover with coordinators over the last two years (we had a total of 3 before our last one cancelled the day before and we were assigned 2 new ones). They will not honor any refunds no matter how badly they mess up and impact your special day. It seems like their management cares more about profit than their customers and that could be why the staff has such high turnover. I wouldn't want to work for that type of management either. All in all we would not recommend anyone use Vizcaya for their wedding venue because of these reasons.

Take this with a grain of salt because I was a guest, not a bride or groom.
Pros:
- nice wait staff
- pretty convenient location if you’re from Sacramento
Cons:
- No contingency plans for extreme heat. Any venue that hosts events in June-September in the Sacramento valley MUST have a contingency plan for extreme heat. We went to a wedding here when it was 115 degrees. Apart from a few umbrellas, there was no shade, no fans, no misters, nothing. Picture elderly grandparents, little flower girls, and everyone in between in formal attire for TWO HOURS outside during an extreme heat advisory. My partner got heat stroke. We know other people who got sick. And I think what really frustrated us was that there was a perfectly lovely indoor ballroom waiting for us, but the venue hadn’t set up the room in time.
Just please be careful about booking this place during wedding season. And Vizcaya: you can get outdoor industrial fans for under $200. That’s the cost of 1.5 guests. It’s a no brainer. Just invest a bit in yourselves. It’ll save you TONS in liability if someone else has to go to the hospital.

I really enjoyed the planning process at Vizcaya.
I should have known something was off when my multiple emails I sent trying to confirm details the week before my wedding went unanswered. The only time I heard back from my coordinator, Kimberly, the week leading up to my wedding was her reminding us we had one last payment still.
DIRTY & UNCOMFORTABLE
When arriving in the bridal suite, I watched in shock as my MOH used wipes to clean urine off the toilet seat & hair off the mirror.
The Bridal Suite was hot, to the point that our makeup was coming off. It was impossible to find anyone, including my coordinator, to help. My photographer ended up literally hunting down someone to turn on the AC
While getting dressed my mom had to pick dust bunnies up off my dress
RUDE
During cocktail hour I was extremely upset with the attitude given to my photographer. Staff interrupted him & made him have to stop taking photos with something that was completely unnecessary.
NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL
When I entered the reception hall I instantly noticed that 4 tables had been set up wrong. This means multiple families not sitting together.
My sweetheart table was also left out as something the staff seemed to care about. After sitting at dinner for more than 15 minutes it was my MOH who finally got up & asked us if we wanted any drinks. I was also completely shocked to see the drinks that had been labeled “Bride & Groom Only” sitting out on the bar to be consumed by literally anyone. We had been told multiple times at the planning meeting that if we had specific drinks for just the Bride & Groom we could keep them in a secret stash behind the bar. This was in not the case.
DESTROYING MY PERSONAL PROPERTY & LYING
This is the reason I am posting.
They tells you that at the end of the event to leave everything in the room & you will pick it up the later.
When packing up the next day I noticed my bridal bouquet was missing. We went to ask an employee what happened to it. I was planning on preserving the most important flowers of my life. In addition a traditional family trinket was safety pinned into a stem of my bouquet.
We got told that my florist had come back to the venue & taken it. I reached out to my florist & this was in not the case.
A few days later I had asked for an update. Now they told me that my immediate family had stolen my flowers. Again reached out to my family No one had it
I reached back out to the venue & this time they told me they had found only my trinket. When I went to the venue to pick it up, I saw it had been cut off of the bouquet as the ribbon it was on was also missing
After more days of no updates I reached back out & got told they were “working on it”. At this point I was super frustrated & asked to speak to a supervisor. The request to speak to a higher up was denied but they instantly had an answer for me
The venue had thrown out my bridal bouquet, only my bridal bouquet. It still didn't make sense to me but I accepted the “answer” & asked them to pay for a replacement.
They agreed to pay for it & said they would issue the check while I was on in Paris. When I came home I saw that my check was now contingent on me signing an NDA.
This makes sense why TheKnot has no bad reviews of them but Yelp has plenty.
This venue & staff make you feel like the most important person in the world during the planning process. However as soon as they cash your final payment they could not care less about you or your event.

My wife and I recently got married at the Vizcaya. We could not have been happier with the service and the outcome! Our day-of coordinator was Rachel Ryland, who was super helpful. She was there helping us from the start, answering all our questions, giving us ideas, planning all the decor, and coordinating all our vendors. The venue itself is super gorgeous with nice photo areas, getting ready rooms for the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and a courtyard area to have your ceremony. Overall, Vizcaya made our wedding day a day that we will never forget. My wife and I highly recommend having your special day here!

I honestly don’t know how to thank Vizcaya for being so amazing at my wedding. They went above and beyond. They made the ENTIRE wedding planning process a breeze. Vizcaya offers everything, food, tables, linens, byob option etc. plus a coordinator, and honestly it’s so worth it going with a venue that is all-inclusive. Julia was my coordinator. Not once was I stressed through the entire planning process. And the day of the wedding they were constantly checking in on me and my husband to ensure that we were doing okay and that we always had a drink in our hand.
Julia, I honestly cannot thank you enough for help planning my wedding. You were absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend you to ANYONE who needs a wedding coordinator. And a big shout out to Abi for helping the day of the wedding. Vizcaya is absolutely amazing and highly recommend having your wedding here.

My husband and I got married here in December 2022. We are so happy we went with this venue. They have bridal and groom suites on site. They provide chairs, linens, and arches-so no rentals needed. They have beautiful outdoor and indoor facilities, and more parking around it than you might expect downtown. Most importantly, they provide in-house day of coordinators that meet with you throughout your event planning process. Ours was Rachel-she is wonderful. She was thoughtful, thorough, and helped make sure our day was the best it could be-can't thank her enough!

Had our wedding in September 2022 and Rachel was our coordinator. We were extremely happy with our ceremony and reception. All of our guests complimented how beautiful our venue was and we couldn’t agree more. Rachel is an expert at her job and knows exactly what to do to prepare you for your big day. She is there to help you with everything on the day of your wedding, from bustling your dress to fanning your tears and putting all the final touches together. Thank you Rachel!!

We are so glad we hosted our wedding at the Vizcaya and the grounds are gorgeous, also very convenient location, it’s in downtown Sacramento. Our coordinator Julia was so helpful along the way from signing the contract to walking down the isle. They include so many things such as table, chair rentals, arches etc. We did a plated dinner and the food was delicious, the late night snacks are also great too😊 Guests told us how great the food was!they were so organized and everyone on their staff is so professional and fun, they made our special day run so smoothly. Highly recommend getting married at the Vizcaya!!

Such a gorgeous and helpful staff. Our coordinator Taylor was everything we needed. She was personable, helpful, and there for every step of the way. The execution of the wedding day could not have been more perfect thanks to her. She knew everything to support us and work through the entire day. She is timely, organized, and makes it fun experience throughout. She was flexible when we needed it, and she made this perfect for us. The staff on the day of the wedding was professional and friendly, and made all of the food and the drinks above expectations. Thank you Vizcaya, for making our wedding day a dream!

From the first contact all the way through to our big day, Vizcaya was amazing. The rentals and food being included made things so much easier, but the best aspect is the coordinator being included - I really don't know how we could've planned and executed everything without Taylor! Having details meetings to help make design choices and plan out logistics with someone who knows exactly what needs to be done was huge. Our wedding day went so perfectly - everything was so beautiful, the food was great, and our guests had an amazing time. All the things people always warn you about ("you won't get to eat, you won't get to spend time with your partner", etc) when it comes to your wedding day were never an issue for us, thanks to Taylor and the rest of the team at Vizcaya. They made sure we ate throughout the day and were able to get time together to really be in the moment and enjoy the day. Having the getting ready area on site for both me and my partner was also really helpful. The grounds are really beautiful - getting ready areas, ceremony area, and pavilion included. I cannot say enough good things about this place!

This review is long overdue! After 1 postponement, we got married on October 22, 2021. We chose to have a Great Gatsby themed wedding, and Vizcaya was the perfect venue for our theme. Vizcaya is beautiful with its romantic charm, and vintage architecture. Not only is the venue beautiful, but it has everything you need all in one place. They assign you a wedding coordinator and they have a list of preferred vendors to chose from. This made wedding planning so much easier and less stressful!!
Our first coordinator was Sam. We enjoyed working with her during the beginning of our wedding planning, She was very friendly and accommodating! We were then assigned to another coordinator Taylor. She helped us with every last detail, answered all of our questions promptly and eased our stress and anxiety during the wedding planning process.
The day of the wedding went very smoothy thanks to the help of Taylor and the rest of the Vizcaya staff. We had to make a lot of seating changes because a lot of guests informed us last minute that they were not able to attend. Taylor made sure everything was taken care of and she definitely went above and beyond. We had so many compliments from guests about how much fun they had and about how delicious the food was. It was a magical night!!
We would definitely recommend Vizcaya! Thank you Taylor, Sam and the Vizcaya team!!

We had our wedding at Vizcaya and had the pleasure of working with Rachel as our wedding planner. First off, everyone said the wedding was beautiful because Vizcaya is a beautiful venue. The food was delicious, and so were the drinks that Vizcaya's bartender prepared. Rachel did an excellent job keeping in contact with us, especially during COVID. She orchestrated the wedding to perfection and went above and beyond to ensure everything went off without a hitch. It was a pleasure working with her and all the great people at Vizcaya. They gave us our dream wedding.

You will be in great hands if you book your wedding at Vizcaya in Sacramento! From the very first phone call, I felt like all the information was laid out to us clearly. Rachel was our coordinator, and she worked extremely hard to perfect all our wedding day details! The day we went for an in-person tour, we got to see the two beautiful gardens and indoor pavilion to give us a better idea of what space would work with which parts of the wedding day. Rachel sat down with us and went item by item from a brochure to make sure we knew what we were paying for, what the venue provides, etc., and provided us with a detailed tentative quote. On the day of the wedding, Rachel and the staff members made our wedding vision come to fruition, and everything was perfect! You could see the professionalism and care each staff members puts in making your wedding day go by smoothly. Highly recommend this venue! The food was also so delicious!
As an added bonus, there’s so many spots that are absolute gems for photos, including fountains, the gazebo in the garden, and beautiful greenery backdrops!

After 3 postponements, we had our wedding July 18th. I have to say it was well worth the wait. Our wedding was cancelled two weeks prior to our original date due to COVID, so the wedding was essentially paid for. My husband and I decided to elope the day of and postpone our big wedding date.
Rachel was our coordinator and she was very flexible and easy to work with. She made our wedding day go so smoothly. Our guests raved about the wedding and the food was delicious! I highly recommend Rachel as your coordinator. She made sure everyone had food and was taken care of.
Even the unexpected guests that showed up. And always made sure my husband and I had our signature drinks in hand ;).
I would have really regretted not going through with our big day because of COVID. It was amazing!

I knew when I first met Rachel that I wanted to have my wedding at Vizcaya so I could have her as my day of coordinator. Not only did she respond to every single one of my emails (and a lot of times within hours of me sending it), she helped me bring my vision to life and was so flexible and supportive with all of the changes due to COVID. The property itself is breathtaking and all of the staff are so kind and hardworking. The food is delicious and everything went so smoothly. Having the bed and breakfast there was perfect for the wedding party so we could party all night. Truly a wonderful venue!

We booked our wedding in 2019 for 4/5/2020. Vizcaya was an instant favorite for us! Gorgeous property, perfect reviews, and friendly staff. Just 21 days before our original wedding date, we had to postpone due to COVID. Even then in the early, stressful days of the pandemic, our coordinator Rachel helped us deal with the disappointment and postpone to a later date in the fall without any issue. A few months later we decided to postpone again for the safety of our guests and Vizcaya happily helped us find our new date, 3/28/21. We cannot say enough about how amazing Rachel was! We met a handful of times to discuss the timeline and vision for the day. She was always helpful with ironing out ideas and developing a schedule for the day. I kept expecting to get nervous in the weeks leading up to the big day, but thanks to Rachel and the Vizcaya staff I truly never felt overwhelmed and I was able to stay excited and calm! The bride and groom getting ready rooms are a huge bonus. We were both able to spend the whole morning with our bridal party in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Rachel would pop in to say hi and check on us here and there, but mostly we were able to simply enjoy our favorite people and get ready! We had our ceremony in the east patio and it was absolutely perfect. Rachel had set up the reception and ceremony decorations exactly as I had imagined it, if not better! During photos after the ceremony, Rachel even followed us around the property with the photographers handing us sips of our signature cocktails. Helped calm the nerves and get us excited for the reception! The food at Vizcaya is delicious (especially the chicken cordon bleu and ceviche tostada appetizer). When asking some close guests about their experience that night, their only complaints revolved around the dining experience. We had ordered about 8 vegetarian meals, but they only made enough to serve 7 so one vegetarian family member was served chicken. Some guests shared that they never ended up getting any cake and were even told that they had run out, but the next day we were given a box with about ten servings left over! We did not notice any of the details in the moment as the head table's food was served quickly and accurately. This also does not seem to be a regular occurrence for Vizcaya, but at that time of our wedding that were short staffed. These are our only complaints! It truly was the best day and we are forever grateful to Vizcaya and Rachel for bearing with us through two postponements. We would absolutely recommend Vizcaya!

My husband and I got married here in November 2019. I would consider our engagement on the "shorter" side, getting engaged in February with a wedding date of November of the same year.
From the beginning upon inquiry, our coordinator, Ali, was so communicative and informative. She provided us a document of all available dates left in 2019 which helped us narrow down our wedding date. Once we selected the Vizcaya as our wedding venue and signed the contract, everything was smooth sailing ahead!
There was no need for us to hire an actual wedding planner because Ali was so amazing and she met with us three separate times all leading up to our wedding day. She responded to us in such a timely manner via email, which was great for a bride like me who had a million questions. She also made sure we knew the remaining tasks to do leading up to the wedding day.
The day of, Ali was so great. I trusted her 100% and she made sure I had nothing to worry about. Her day of timeline was so detailed and everything I could have thought of was spelled out with an assigned time on the timeline. We literally had nothing to think about on our wedding day, and I loved that.
The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL. We fell in love with the ivy wall in the ceremony space, the patio where we had our cocktail reception, and the stained glass in the main reception hall. My husband and I received such great feedback from our guests regarding the food. We did a plated dinner and it was the best decision ever. So many of our guests kept asking if the Vizcaya had a restaurant because they wanted to go back and eat the food again. The biggest advantage is the alcohol package. The venue has a BYOB policy and they supply the bartenders. It was great if you're trying to stray away from all of those pricey drink packages a lot of other venues have. With the Vizcaya, all we had to do was purchase alcohol at Costco which saved us so much money.
The bridal lounge was perfect. Since we had a Friday evening wedding, we were the only wedding scheduled that day. The venue accommodates morning and evening weddings on Saturdays and Sundays. But the advantage of having a Friday wedding, is that you're the only wedding onsite. My girls and I had an early call time with hair and makeup, and Ali was able to accommodate us.
When it came to our cocktail hour and reception, everything ran so smoothly and Ali was right there guiding us on what was next, from first dance to cake cutting to bouquet toss, the list goes on and on. :)
Overall, our experience with Ali and the Vizcaya was so positive and we already miss working with Ali! Definitely recommend this venue to any couple who is on the hunt for a wedding venue!

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this venue and everyone who worked to make our wedding be fantastic! Rachel was a wondering wedding coordinator and worked with our schedules to make planning as stress-free as possible. We had a few minor day-of snafus with ceremony seating, but everything worked out well. So many guests commented on how great the food was, and the staff at Vizcaya did a great job making almost all of the food gluten-free. I cannot say enough good things about this place :)

My husband I were married here about a month ago. When we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to have an open bar. We are also picky on our whiskey, but we are not as picky with other alcohol. We were happy to find a place that was bring your own alcohol. We looked at the pictures and thought it was very pretty, so we scheduled a tour. We were beyond impressed when we saw the grounds, and knew this was the venue we wanted. We picked a date, and we cannot say a single bad thing about Vizcaya.
Vizcaya has certain policies regarding other vendors a couple can work with which we initially were not sure about, but we are SO glad now. We do not live in the area, so we didn’t really have a way to meet with vendors in person or ask around for recommendations. We also had no idea what to look for with other vendors. Vizcaya’s policies and recommended vendors list helped us put together a beautiful wedding. Rachel was extremely helpful during the planning process and the day of. After the wedding, our guests went out of their way to tell us how great the venue and the wedding was. We could not have done it without all of Rachel’s help. Thank you!

My wife & I had our wedding at Vizcaya this past Sunday! Right away we were assigned our wedding coordinator, Ali & let me tell you she was EVERYTHING! She answered every single email no matter how many this crazy bride sent a day. I always hear about weddings being stressful to plan, but it’s like Ali lifted all of the weight off us on our first detailed appointment!
Come day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly. Ali and her team set up everything beautifully and made sure everything ran according to timeline. I did not have to communicate with vendors or check the time not once.
My guest are still raving about how beautiful the venue was, how AMAZING the food was & how our coordinator was ON IT!
I cannot thank Ali & the Vizcaya team enough!!

Vizcaya was the best! We were planning our wedding from out of town and Rachel our coordinator made the whole process so easy! From multiple planning calls, answering our email questions promptly, decorating the venue beautifully, and making sure everything went smoothly the day of she was so amazing! The venue was beautiful and our guests raved about the food. Vizcaya made the wedding planning process a lot less stressful and scary!

I got married in August 2018 and couldn't be happier that I chose Vizcaya as my wedding venue. Not only is this venue picture-perfectly beautiful, but it has everything you need in one spot. The ceremony, reception, on-site chef, bar staff, linens, chairs, and you can stay the night there! We also loved that we could bring in our own alcohol, which saved us a ton of money! It was basically a one-stop shop, compared to a ton of other venues out there that make you find a caterer, bartender, or make you bring in your own tables, chairs, and linens. From the very beginning when we were scouting venues, we were blown away by our coordinator, Lauren Bergenholtz, and the staff. Not only were they extremely professional, but they were also very kind. Lauren was very attentive throughout the entire planning process, and I couldn't imagine my wedding day without her. She runs a tight ship, and if anything went wrong behind the scenes of our wedding, we had no idea because of her flawless execution.
After our wedding, we were told by many of our guests that it was the best wedding they had ever attended!
The food was particularly excellent. We got a ton of compliments on our menu. We chose the tomato & mozzarella crostini and coconut shrimp as our hors-d'oeuvres, and for the buffet, we got the Caesar and mesclun salads, deviled chicken, tri-tip, and baked gnocchi. Everything was absolutely delicious, and some of our guests still rave about the gnocchi! (I need to get their exact recipe!!) We also got a late night snack of mini pizzas that were delicious.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend this venue!

My husband and I could not have been happier with Vizcaya and Lauren B. The venue was beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. All of our guest have been gushing about how amazing our reception was! Not to mention, being a gay couple we felt very accepted and welcomed by everyone there. I would HIGHLY recommend Vizcaya to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Sacramento.

I decided to sit on this review until I collected myself and I was hesitant as I did not want my vendors to lose out on opportunities. I feel I should say objectively that not all personalities get along and overall my day was pleasant. Setting aside all niceties, I will give a nitty gritty review as all feedback is good feedback.
I did not prefer Lauren and as time passed, animosity grew. I often times found her condescending, inconsiderate and inconsistent. Many people speak highly of her and as I mentioned not all personalities connect. I could give examples but to avoid a messy condescending rebuttal, I will just move on. I was later switched to Rachel, she was sweet but newer.
The day of lacked coordination with a backbone. People weren't being navigated to the cocktail hour thus many interruptions occurred and much time was lost for family portraits.
Plated meals were provided with color coded wax place cards to signal meal selections. Unfortunately, servers could not remember color coding and began to prompt guest on meal selection. Many guest changed meal selection simply because they forgot what they ordered two months prior. The chicken was to have a Dijon white wine sauce and the sea bass to be brushed with brown sugar sauce but both items were crusted. Unfortunately, some sea bass came out with the Dijon white wine sauce and posed as the chicken. Several guest including myself got the sea bass instead of the chicken. I informed the server that he erroneously given me the wrong meal and he fought with me. I am thankful none of my guest had a fish allergy. Since I was given the wrong meal, I noticed rice pilaf was missing from all fish plates. By the time my meal was corrected, I did not get to eat because it was time for sunset photos.
Toast were given without champagne passed to all tables. Bartender was unpleasant and unorganized. With this being said a lot of people were in charge on this day but no one person knew what the other was doing in my opinion. Poor communication lead to the cluster of events to follow. I have realized wholeheartedly that you can never make a three star venue a five star venue. Not even if you have a wedding planner trouble shooting, not even with the beautiful decor and especially not with such a troubled foundation. Bringing this information to light privately, I was given a half hearted apology and then immediately unfriended off of Vizcaya's instagram...what millennial conflict resolution skills this business has.

We had our wedding at Vizcaya this past November. We chose Vizcaya because of the versatility of the venue. Because we were getting married in November, we knew we'd need a location that could offer indoor/outdoor options for the ceremony. Luckily, the rain cleared out before the start of our ceremony and we got to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The ability to provide your own alcohol and the amazing food and service and day-of coordinator is what set Vizcaya apart from other venues. Kelsey was our amazing coordinator! Our day went off without a hitch. Choosing Vizcaya was the best decision we could have made!

Vizcaya is a wonderful wedding venue. Truly top notch! After touring a few venues for our wedding we met with Lexi. Of course the venue was beautiful but Lexi is the reason we went from we like it, to we have to get married here. Over the year of our engagement she was guiding me through how to plan a wedding. I felt inexperienced, as I had never planned a wedding before, and Lexi was a pro! My wedding day was flawless thanks to Lexi! She really knows how to keep the day flowing and make sure that my groom and I had nothing to worry about. The food was delicious and the staff was courteous. We have tentative plans to renew our vows down the road and Vizcaya will be our first choice.

We had our wedding at Vizcaya in December 2017 and it could not have been more perfect! We had the pleasure of working with Rachel as our wedding coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! We currently live in Chicago so we had to do all the planning from afar and Rachel made this easy! She took the time to Skype with us about the entire planning process and made sure to keep us on a correct timeline. The day of ran smoothly, the food was great (highly recommend the mac and cheese balls for appetizers), and the venue was perfect.
We have no complaints at all about Vizcaya and highly recommend it! It is a great value for the price and made our day everything we could have dreamed of!

Our wedding was on December 2nd 2017 and it was absolutely wonderful. I may be biased, but our wedding was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to. Our ceremony on the east patio under the lights at night was breathtaking. Vizcaya has so many spots for beautiful photos all over. The food was amazing and the staff was great. Our coordinator, Lauren B., was amazing. She helped us along our year long wedding planning journey, and always responded quickly to all my emails. She made sure everything was taken care of before the wedding and on the wedding day as well. Lauren took charge on the day of the wedding to make sure everything was perfect, which is exactly what every bride needs. She displayed all of my decorations perfectly and helped make our day everything I had always dreamed of. I could not recommend Vizcaya enough. Our wedding was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

Vizcaya Sacramento was an AMAZING location for our May Wedding & Reception. The facilities were Beautiful, the food was Delish, and the staff was Awesome. We worked with Briana, Rheanna & Our Spectacular Wedding Coordinator Lauren! These ladies are incredible.
Lauren helped with organizing all the details leading up to the Special Day, and was the show runner for the Rehearsal. Lauren was also wonderful as our Day of Coordinator. Everything went soooooo smooth. I had a relaxing morning and afternoon since the Vizcaya Staff handled ALL of the setup & decorating duties. The wedding, Cocktail Hour & Reception were a BLAST! Lauren made sure everything went off without any hiccups and had a fun time doing it.
We had so much fun & got Rave reviews from all of our guests. I especially loved that my husband & I, as well as our Wedding Party, stayed the night after the Reception in the Ned & Breakfast rooms. And the best part is that the Vizcaya staff also took care of the Clean up. The next morning we ate a casual breakfast & loaded up are cars.
I'd definitely recommend Vizcaya Sacramento for a Lovely Wedding. I have ZERO Complaints. Thanks So Much to Everyone at Vizcaya for making Our Wedding Unbelievably Memorable!

My Daughter was married on 5/5/17! As the mother of the bride, I was so grateful to have had such an amazing wedding coordinator, Lauren Bergenholtz! She was there every step of the way, helping out with all the little things that w3ere needed. The wedding precession was beautiful and fun! The reception area was like a dream, simply amazing! The FOOD was out of this world but, none could have been accomplished with out the professionalism, attention to detail and knowing that if I needed anything...Lauren was there! Lauren, I cannot thank you enough for all that you did for my daughter's wedding, and for me.

This venue was fantastic - we had to work with a few different coordinators because of changes in staffing and each person was incredibly helpful. We ended up with Lexi and she was on top of everything and helped the day to go so smoothly. Being able to bring in our own alcohol and late night snacks were key for us, and the staff was so helpful with everything. The food was great according to all of our guests which was something that was really important as well and we were nervous about given that we had to use their catering, but it was great. I highly recommend this venue!

When we met with Vizcaya it was about a year out from when we wanted to get married and a lot of their Saturdays were already fully booked. I'd highly recommend reaching out to them ASAP even if you're just considering them.
We loved the venue so much that we choose our date around their availability so that worked out for us. We also were "blessed" with rain on our wedding day. We didn't have a plan 100% in place but then Briana at Vizcaya gave us a recommendation for a company and it worked out perfectly. That was a HUGE help. Briana was also great to have helping us on the day of since I was getting ready the whole time I knew that I could trust her to set up the room perfectly. Super happy with how everything turned out!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE VIZCAYA! My now husband and I were having the hardest time agreeing and deciding on which venue to book for our wedding. From the moment we parked and laid our eyes on Vizcaya in person we knew this was where we would get married. After we booked, we were assigned Briana Troutner as our coordinator. There is no one more understanding, collaborative, flexible, or amazing as Briana! Seriously, I believe she was sent from the heavens above to make sure we had a wonderful wedding day. From day one she was in constant contact with us and made sure we were always on schedule. During our rehearsal I was on the verge of a mental breakdown and Briana was the one that got me through it and assured that everything would be perfect. She was right! She and her team executed my wedding day vision perfectly. She went above and beyond my expectations in every aspect!
My guests loved Vizcaya also. The venue is beyond beautiful, the food was amazing (we splurged on the Diamond menu and had the Filet Mignon, Salmon with sun dried tomato butter, Deviled Chicken, and Vegetable Lasagna), the bartender poured amazing drinks, and for your hor d'ouerves do yourself a favor and select the risotto cake with bacon - YUM!!!!
Vizcaya made our wedding a dream come true! If I had to do my wedding all over again, I would 1000% choose Vizcaya!

Our wedding could not have gone any more perfect! With the help of our wedding coordinator Briana Troutner, we were able to plan and enjoy the happiest day of our lives. The goal of my husband and I was to have a wedding where we would be able to enjoy our special day to the fullest without having to worry about set up, break down, vendors, etc. and Briana along with the staff at Vizcaya accomplished exactly that. We are so happy to have chosen Vizcaya as our wedding venue and we received numerous compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything looked. Briana was extremely helpful for the year and a half of planning we had. She was very flexible with our meeting times and always had the most positive attitude and a great smile. She is definitely someone that sets the standard of what quality service is. We would be happy to work with her again in the future and highly recommend her and the Vizcaya team.

We could not have had a better experience working with Vizcaya for our wedding venue. Everything was beautiful, their event coordinator, Briana, was above and beyond helpful and kept us all calm, cool, and collected leading up to and during the wedding.

My husband and I were married here just a couple weeks ago, and we were so happy with the service that not only we, but all of guests, received. We started out meeting with Stacey, who was super helpful in giving us the information about the venue and what our package included (basically everything except alcohol and cake). Then we were assigned to Caitlin as our coordinator. She was awesome to work with, and anytime I had a question she was quick to respond to my emails. The venue itself is beautiful, inside and out. We didn't even need any extra decorations outside of centerpieces and flowers.
The day of our wedding she was always nearby, and kept things running smoothly. We had a brunch reception and the food they provided was delicious, we got a lot of positive comments. During the reception we had people come up to us saying how impressed they were with the 1st class service and that all of the waitstaff were very polite. Thank you Vizcaya for helping to make our day so beautiful :)

Working with Stacey Kitchell and the team at Vizcaya was a breeze! We planned the entirety of our wedding from the East Coast, so it was essential that we had a reliable, competent go-to person to help keep everything on track. Stacey was exactly who we needed. She was always quick to respond to my emails and phone calls, which made planning from far away so much less daunting. She was so easy to work with and so easygoing! We had a few mishaps on our wedding day (my mother in law took a little spill before the ceremony and my mom got mustard all over her dress before photos) but Stacey took care if it all without even batting an eye. As someone who typically needs to have her hand in everything, I had no problem letting Stacey take over so that we could relax, have fun, and enjoy our big day. I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Stacey for all you've done!

The moment I walked into Vizcaya I knew it was everything I ever wanted & more.
Stacey Kitchell was my wedding coordinator, I don't even know where to begin with everything. My experience with Stacey and the venue was more than anything I have dreamed of, our wedding day would not have turned out so beautifully if it wasn't for her and the wonderful staff. Our wedding day was perfect, Stacey pays very close attention to detail and is quiet the perfectionist, as am I, so it was wonderful working with her. I would highly recommend having a wedding at Vizcaya.

This place was great. It was absolutely beautiful, just perfect. Liz was the lady that worked with us and she was incredible. She always did her best to please us and always worked things out. It is pretty darn expensive. Most of the cost is for the food.. But one thing that was not ok with me was that the chef was extremely drunk on our wedding, and we didn't even have alcohol! Idk what happened but we kinda just let it go, becuase i didn't find out until after the wedding...

I am so happy with my Wedding at The Vizcaya, Dec. 2012. On my wedding day I was able to show up, look amazing and have a wonderful time all because I chose an all inclusive venue that took care of all the details. The mansion, pavilion and grounds are beautiful. Your photgrapher will thank you when you choose this place. Our dinner and appetizers were delicious. Our guests were throughly impressed with our wedding and most of that was due to the amazing venue we chose. Our co-ordinator Aubrey was phenominal! She is so professional, very even tempered and just a pleasure to spend the most important day of you life with. I found it was so important to have someone other than family be in charge. I am trully thankful for Aubrey and all the staff at Vizcaya for the unbelievable service we recieved. For great service, great food and an amizing time, there is no other place to get married in my book.

My favorite part of the Vizcaya is that everything is included. Wedding and reception site, food, cake, drinks (except alcohol), honeymoon suite. The package deal is better the larger wedding you are having because there is a food minimum. The chef makes very delicious food, the staff is courteous and helpful. Aubrey was my coordinator and she was helpful and friendly the whole time. They are working on renovating the pavillion and mansion so I was able to get a discounted rate which was great because I had a smaller wedding. The mansion (hotel) still needs a lot of work to the rooms, they are a bit run down, but the pavilion looks great! I loved that they worked with me, with my budget and helped me with making decisions. I would recommend this to anyone having a wedding of 100 guests or more.
