Vox Theatre Event Space

My husband and I got married during the pandemic. Anna was so helpful following up with all of our vendors through a couple of date changes, making sure everything went smoothly the day of our reception. We thought it was a great value, especially with all the help we were provided on organizing/set-up/clean-up. Highly recommend. THANK YOU, Anna and The Vox!

We had our wedding at The Vox Theatre, and it went absolutely perfect. The venue itself is gorgeous, the bridal suite was so spacious (I had a large wedding party- we fit with tons of room to spare!) and the staff is unbelievable. Anna was such a pleasure to work with through the entire process. I am so grateful for all of her help with everything. I would recommend the Vox to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in a very centralized location in the city, you will not be disappointed!

This was the most beautiful event space we could have asked for! Not only was the building beautiful, Anna was able to help us with every step throughout the way. She was knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and helped us have the perfect day. She was knowledgeable about vendors we could contact, and ended up using a few suggestions. Their decorations package was phenomenal as well, bringing us a gorgeous ambiance while keeping our budget in check. They helped with setting up and tearing down since we used their items, and really helped bring our dream into reality. I highly recommend this venue for your perfect location and Anna to bring the final details together. Absolutely perfect!!

The Vox was an amazing spot to have a wedding! We had to change all our plans due to the virus and we were able to find this place and plan a whole different wedding in 3 weeks. It was crazy to do, but the ladies at the Vox really made our event happen with as little stress as possible. We would highly recommend them to anyone who asks! This was the best spot and way better than we could have imagined!

We chose the Vox Theatre Event Space to host our wedding reception in October. We initially chose the space because of the occupancy size it could accommodate, and upon touring were immediately sold on it's stunning presentation. We originally worked with Bailey but after their flawless management transition, we had the privilege and honor of working with Anna. Anna was so polished, friendly, approachable, informative and her interpersonal skills, industry expertise and value were priceless for us. The event space lends itself to limitless possibilities - from dazzling lighting to elegantly dramatic character - allowing clients as much control and hands-on as one wants or deferring to their preferred vendors if desired. The additional amenities they offer (i.e. bridal suite, overnight storage fee, etc) for convenience are well worth the small added expense. Even the clean-up crew organized and packed as though they were professionals! Our overall our experience hosting at the Vox Theatre was magnificent and turned out magical.

The Vox Theatre is a wonderful space that can go one of two ways -- be a blank slate on which you can decorate and make the wedding of your dreams come true OR it's already beautiful enough on its own to meet the aesthetic you are going for. It allows you to be in full control of the vendors you want to be part of your day, which I really appreciated having the freedom to bring in food trucks rather than a house caterer. Getting to the wedding had a couple of twists and turns, including changing the date, but Bailey (along with the other staff) worked with us. They answered every question we had and provided great solutions. The communication was incredibly valuable and helped us novices plan a day that made sense and had a great flow. The entire day went off without a hitch! Highly recommend for your day!

Once we walked in to tour the space and our little dog, JoJo, ran around and made it seem like home, we knew this was the spot for us! An absolutely breathtaking space that looks even better in photos. Seriously. We had an amazing photographer, but the photos look fantastic!! My wife and I are in different cities getting our Master's and were leading up to the wedding and Bailey at the Vox was so accommodating to meeting with us and was very flexible. We hope to see them more in the future. They do allow you to bring in your own bar package, which was very helpful for us, as well as your own caterer. They have recommendations for all of that, but are affordable and absolutely the best bang you can get for your buck! Bailey was incredible and hopefully you will choose this space that way you can work with her! Thank you so much for everything!

This was the perfect venue for our personalized ceremony and reception! Bailey and the staff were extremely helpful during the planning and the day-of. The flip from ceremony to reception was smooth. Everyone loved the space and commented on how minimal decorations were needed to simply enhance the beauty of the venue. Thank you for helping make our day so special!

The Vox was the perfect place for my daughter's reception! My daughter knew this was the place for her after her first meeting with Bailey. Bailey made us feel comfortable and prepared from the start. She was entirely accessible for questions and ideas. The space is versatile, fun, and open to our wants and needs. I highly recommend The Vox and would do it all again with Bailey's help!!

What an amazing venue! We were able to use all of our own vendors, and the price was unbeatable! Bailey was our main contact through our entire wedding planning process and was absolutely wonderful. She answered every question promptly and thoroughly and took so much stress off of our shoulders. The week before our event, it was discovered that the day before still had not been booked. So Bailey offered us that day for set-up, so we wouldn't have to do anything on the day of the wedding, which was so extremely helpful! The only tiny issue we had was on the day of. The staff member that was there for our event was not very helpful during the clean up process. It was our responsibility to clean up everything, and we understood that. But, she was not available for questions my family had. It was later discovered she was waiting outside on her phone the whole time, and her car was parked in the prime spot for loading and unloading, so my family had to carry heavy boxes further than necessary. But that was the only issue we had. All in all, the event was a huge success, and I would definitely recommend Vox for any event!

The Vox staff was great to work with. The venue is so versatile with the stage, curtains, outdoor area, and all the additional amenities. The price was comparable to others in the KC area and provided so much more. The staff were consistently available, and many vendors in the area work with the Vox and are familiar with their establishment. Plus, there are plenty of photo op locations near the venue. The day was perfect in every way. Thanks to the Vox for all the support in planning out big day.

We had the best experience at The Vox Theatre! We selected the venue to fit with our movie theme. It was affordable but still luxurious! We purchased the bridal/groom suite. The groomspeople were spoiled with video games and shots. I would recommend adding a little more to the bridal suite with mirrors, furniture, or even a fruit tray. Or maybe the girls should have some shots. Throughout the process my coordinator, Bailey allowed me to make payments, which eased the load at the end. She was very helpful and quickly responded to my emails. The best parts of the venue for me was the red curtain/stage, the outdoor space (which we used for games during the cocktail hour) and the ability to hang items on the wall. (this really brought our theme to life.) I actually want to renew my vows in this space in 10 years. I loved my reception and would recommend this space to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in the Kansas City area.

Picking Vox Theatre was by far the easiest choice we made throughout the whole wedding planning process! Not only was it very affordable but we had been to a couple of weddings before at the Vox and for me there was no question after that! The space is amazing, there’s so much charm and character already so we didn’t have to do much to the space which is always a plus. We had multiple people comment on what a unique place and how beautiful it was! It was also the perfect place for our reception band! Bailey was a dream to work with, she was always so quick to get back with me about any questions I had and on the morning we showed up to set up she was there and helpful all day! I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else, between the space and the staff it was the most perfect evening!!!

The Vox was a perfect venue. We invited 300 people but were worried we would not find a venue with a reasonable price. When we found the Vox we were blown away by the layout, the friendly staff, and beautiful décor. We hardly had to bring our own. Thank you to Bailey and the rest of the staff that helped out to make our wedding perfect. They were able to cater to any of our needs. I would recommend this venue. If we planned our wedding over again, the Vox would still be our first choice.

The Vox was amazing! I had so many guests say how unique and beautiful this venue was for my ceremony and reception space. I loved that the space was so beautiful; I didn't feel like I had to cover it up or decorate over it, I just threw on some tablecloths, added some centerpieces and the space looked amazing! The staff was very helpful and met with me several times to go over timelines and plan details. The day before and the day of the ceremony there were always plenty of Vox staff there to help out with whatever we needed. I absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classy, unique space to host their wedding.

The Vox Theatre Event Space was everything we could want in a venue. Bailey and Kimberly were wonderful to work with ahead of time, ensuring we had enough time in the space to plan and asking us all the right questions while giving us plenty of ideas for our day, and then were wonderful day-of to coordinate with our set up team. Every inch of that space was utilized by our wedding - we used the bridal suite for a meeting space beforehand, the stage for the ceremony, outdoor space for cocktail hour, and full room for reception. So many guests commented on how perfect the venue was, and we couldn't agree more! 100% would recommend this venue for your ceremony and reception.

Two brides, one wedding! My wife and I had one of the most memorable, special day at the Vox Theatre! All staff was very accommodating, flexible, reasonable, helpful, and upfront about any potential concerns/issues (although we had very few). The venue is gorgeous with wide-panel wood floors, high ceilings, with lights strung throughout; because of these beautiful features, we felt it necessary to add only a few of our own decorations. We were able to have our ceremony outside and then used the indoor space for our reception. We loved the affordability of the venue, and that we were able to choose our own vendors for our special day. The only thing I would have changed about our event is the length of our time there; I would have extended the hours up until the morning hours because I didn't want the night to end! We would get married 100x over at the Vox!

Rented this venue from out of state for our wedding reception. They were so accommodating and helpful. I even forgot my computer to use for the evening and someone came in on their day off to let us use theirs.

Having your reception at the Vox makes you want to have your wedding every weekend. This reception venue has got it all! It offers a space with indoor and outdoor, flexibility, history, and class all with keeping the couple at the center of their focus. Their customer service is top notch (Bailey is amazing!!!) and we could not have been happier with our experience. Thanks again!

The Vox was the perfect venue. The process was easy and Bailey was awesome. She answered all of our crazy questions along the way and in a timly manner. The team of people that were there say if we super helpful and so fun to work with on our best day ever. We couldn’t have been happier that we chose the Vox to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family.

When my now husband and I first stepped into the Vox, we immediately fell in love with it. Everything from the bistro lights, to the red curtains and the wonderful patio were just right on point. Bailey and her team were wonderful to work with and so very helpful. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Vox, which worked out perfectly. We booked the bridal suite to get ready in and it was sooooo worth it. It was so nice to have the whole day (starting at 10 am) to be able to get ready while the vendors had the whole day to set up. There is also a separate loft area for the groom and groom's party to get ready in. There are two attendants available during your event for anything you may need. They also have a special outlet for a DJ booth to avoid accidently blowing any circuits and the restrooms are clean and well taken care of. They have a small patio out back and even though our wedding was in October, the weather was perfect to gather and spend time outside. This venue is definitely a gem in the middle of the city!

We had such a great experience at the Vox theater. We had a beautiful reception and much thanks goes to the staff at the Vox. I would highly recommend this venue to others. It has tons of charm and very unique find in the KC area.

My husband and I had our Reception there on 9/30/17 and it was perfect. After I took a look at Vox, I cancelled all my other venue appointments because I loved it so much. The room is beautiful and open and just what we were looking for. Also, the courtyard connected to the dance floor is perfect for guests to mingle. It was full for the majority of our Reception! Also Bailey is amazing to work with! She responded to my daily emails very quickly. And believe me there were a lot of them! She answered all my questions right away which made my planning easier. Many of our guests said it was the most fun Reception they have been to and I believe Vox played a huge part in that! I would recommend this venue to everyone!

Garret and I got married here on 10/27/17 and it was everything we where looking for and more! We worked with Bailey and she helped us tremendously with planning and answering all the questions we had leading up to the wedding. Not gonna lie we had to change our minds 4 or 5 times in regards to timing, tables and equipment but she was very flexible with us as we planned things out. This really helped ease the stress that comes with planning a wedding. We received compliments from our guests about how beautiful the event space was and we will definitely recommend it for anyone that we come across. :)

The Vox is a great event space, and was the perfect size for our 75 person wedding. The staff was also super helpful. When our DJ unexpectedly left 2 hours early (whole other story there), Bailey and the rest of the Vox staff were super helpful in working with my family to get music playing again.

Our day was perfect and we are so happy that we chose The Vox and had the opportunity to work with Bailey and team! In the beginning, when we had been searching for venues, one thing that stood out about The Vox was that we never came across a "mediocre" review -- they were ALL fantastic and now we know why, firsthand! The space (including bridal suite) was amazing, the vendors worked together wonderfully the day of and all of Bailey's help, feedback, and flexibility throughout the ENTIRE process was outstanding and greatly appreciated!! Bailey and the team at the Vox were beyond easy to work with. The Vox is a beautiful, older space with tons of historic charm. The attached, fenced-in yard area was a HUGE hit because we were able to set up yard games and it gave smokers a nice place to sit out. In addition, the indoor facility is very unique and I received many compliments from guests. The space is very large and great for dancing! I would highly recommend this venue for the couple who wants to have outdoor access along with the amenities (and cooler setting) of an indoor venue. This place has vintage-chic written all over it. Our daughter, Maggie, and her now-husband, Mason, held their reception at the Vox last weekend. I can't imagine a better location for the experience they wanted. The Vox is roomy, well located with ample parking, and a top choice by KC wedding vendors. All night, M&M were glowing -- and their guests enjoyed a perfect evening as well. I underestimated how much the lawn would be used and enjoyed -- and am so glad it was available for our guests. I can't say thank you enough for helping to make wedding dreams come true!

I couldn't imagine having held my reception anywhere else! The space is beautiful and Brooke and Bailey were amazing to work with. Being able to bring in outside vendors was the only way I would have considered a venue, and then after seeing how beautiful the space was and knowing I was in good hands with the coordinators, it was an easy decision! Also greatly appreciated the officer who was there to help direct parking and make all the guests feel secure. Couldn't have gone any better! Thank you!

We contracted with the Vox Theatre for our daughter's wedding reception March 25, 2017. Our overall experience was excellent. Brooke was so wonderful to work with. She had excellent suggestions and lots of patience with us! She coordinated with the vendors and had everything ready for us when we arrived for setup on the wedding day. The decor of this place is so nice that you don't need a lot of extra decorations. Our guests loved it. The ceiling lights and big fan were so festive. The stage was perfect for the band and the dance floor was plenty big enough for guests to dance all night. The big wood tables worked perfect for the food layout. The staff was very helpful on the event day, too. We HIGHLY recommend the Vox for your event!

Brooke and the other staff at the Vox were great. The location is easy to get to, includes plenty of parking, and a KCK uniformed police officer is on duty. The space itself is unique and historic, which we loved. Our ceremony & reception pictures turned out wonderful. Being able to bring in our own vendors was key. It was very easy to coordinate details with the staff, get questions answered and get everything planned. We would highly recommend the Vox Theatre to others.

With a short engagement, we loved the ease of working with the staff at the Vox. They let us bring in our own vendors (and gave suggestions for areas where we didn't already have a vendor). Brooke & Bailey were responsive and answered every question (big & little) in a timely manner. Our guests loved the space and our decor matched the existing lights, ceiling tiles and overall look of the Vox Theatre. We were married on a Friday and held both the ceremony and reception in this space. We chose to have our guests already seated at their tables during the ceremony, and this proved to be a simple transition from ceremony to celebration! We can't say enough great things about this space! So happy to have been able to book the Vox and celebrate this important day in this space!

We loved the Vox! We had our wedding reception of about 170 guests at the Vox. The planning process was super easy! Brooke was very easy to get ahold of when we needed her and very easy to work with! The thing we loved most about the space is that it is large and simple but still feels very elegant. We hardly did any decorating and it turned out amazing! Our wedding was in October and the back patio turned out to be one of everyone's favorite places to be during the reception. We loved having our reception in this venue and would highly recommend it!

They were accommodating and the venue itself was gorgeous. There was some confusion since there was a change in management and we had to really pay attention to our original contract as they raised most prices since we signed it, and got confused on what we had to pay. The venue was perfect for us as we had a live band and our colors copper and midnight blue were glowing.

We were married and had our reception at The Vox, and we enjoyed working with them so much! They were incredibly flexible and easy-going. We had a non-traditional reception-our talented friends cooked for us, and we had friends bartend. They had no issues with this and gave us great advice to put it all together. Brooke is now their event planner and she is awesome to work with. She is very quick to respond and answer questions. If you are looking for a flexible, beautiful, and affordable event space with a great location, I believe you will find it at The Vox Theatre Event Space.

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Vox and it was wonderful! We had around 220 guests and felt it was a good number for the space. It felt intimate but not crowded. Additionally, the space is beautiful and has a lot of character. All of the staff is very professional and wanted to make sure our day went off without any problems. Highly recommend them!

The Vox was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Answered all our questions in a timely manner, let us come see the space and workout ideas as we needed. The day of, the coordinator helped fix my flowers that were delivered incorrectly and any other hiccups that arose. After the event, we missed a few pieces to be turned into the center piece place and they delivered them for us as we were on our honeymoon already. So wonderful and appreciate everything they did to make our day perfect!

We can't say enough about how great the venue itself it. It's so cool already, you hardly have to decorate. The service was actually good too. They were always available and ready with our floor plan whenever we wanted to show up and review or make changes. Which is why on the big day I was so surprised and disappointed when a few things they said they would do did not happen. They were available, but did not move as quickly as I would have liked.

We chose to have both our wedding ceremony and reception at Vox Theatre and are SO glad we did! We were able to do our small ceremony in the quaint little outdoor space and it was adorable! The reception was absolutely perfect and Allison and staff took care of everything. The staff at Vox are easy going, yet hard-working and do everything in their power to make your day perfect. I always encountered quick replies to my questions and they are the nicest people to work with :) We received multiple compliments on the venue from people who didn't even know it existed...they were pleasantly surprised! Would definitely recommend this venue to anyone!

We loved this space and would recommend to others. The coordinator, Kate was fantastic! Working with her helped make our decision to use this venue. She was great at communicating with us throughout the process. The price was competitive among other venues but there were small costs that arose which we didn't think about beforehand. I loved how different and unique this venue was for the look we were going for our wedding.

We can't say enough awesome things about The Vox and the staff! Kate, Daphne, and everyone there were very easy to work with and wonderful in every way. The venue itself is beautiful, unique, centrally located, and has a great price. We loved the high ceilings, string lights, stage, and great outdoor patio. After meeting with Kate and checking out the space we knew we had found our venue. Kate was fantastic and very friendly. She is professional and quick to respond to inquiries and followed through perfectly on all our requests. They took care of our unusual linen setup and delivered exactly what we planned. They contacted our vendors in advance to make sure everything went smoothly on the big day. We also liked that we could bring in any vendor we wanted and that they had an option to clean up afterwards and allowed us to pick up some items on Monday (they even packed the items up for us and helped us load them out - totally above and beyond!). Book The Vox and live happily ever after :)

My husband and I just got married on June 27,2015. Kate helped us with every detail. The workers even stayed super late after our reception was over to help us clean up, and they let the band encore and our guests stay a bit longer. It was wonderful! Highly recommend.

Working with The Vox was a breeze. You can use any vendors. Kate is wonderful and reassuring. The Vox will let you do it all on your own or handle anything you want them to. Really can't recommend them enough.

We felt so confident about our wedding reception because of how great the space is at the Vox, and how wonderful Kate is to work with. We had so much help along the way - and she helped us imagine the space as would fit our style and personality. She was perfectly patient and understanding with changes to table and layout even the week of!

The Vox Theatre is the perfect venue for weddings! Kate and Daphne were great to work with and very responsive. Its a gorgeous, unique space and should definitely be considered when choosing your wedding venue. Did I mentioned it's budget friendly on top of all that? I contacted Kate with a million questions over the last year of planning and she responded promptly each time and was eager to offer suggestions when needed. They contacted all our vendors to arrange set up times so I didn't have to be the middle man. They set up all the tables and chairs and had everything ready to go when it was time to decorate. They gave us plenty of time to set up and decorate the day before the wedding. That really helped relieve some stress off me, knowing everything I wanted to set up was done and looked great. The Vox staff allowed us to pick up all our decor the following day instead of our wedding night and had it boxed up very neatly and they had wrapped everything in tissue. That is such a great option because your parents and wedding party didn't have to stay hours after the party was over to help clean up. It made the experience from very beginning to very end a great one. They also have an open catering option which is nice because you can truly plan the wedding of your dreams starting with the food, on. Our guests LOVED the venue and I've been asked about it multiple times since. I would recommend the Vox to anyone looking to plan a wedding or party. It's a great venue just south of downtown KC!

Kate, Daphne, and Becky, our team from The Vox went above and beyond with pre-wedding planning/layout, set up, clean up, rehearsal, and the wedding. If I could marry my husband again every day, it would no doubt be at Vox Theatre and with the help of this staff! Kate's attention to detail and listening ear in times of stress helped so much for us to pull off a beautiful wedding for our guests.

The Vox Theatre was an amazing event space for our wedding reception. The venue was gorgeous and well priced. My husband and I loved the hip classic Kansas City feel and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. Kate Bouwer made all of our wildest dreams come true. We absolutely loved The Vox Theatre.

Kate at the Vox is wonderful!! she helped me coordinate all of my other vendors, and had some great ideas that helped make our wedding fabulous!!! I would definitely work with her again. The space is gorgeous. the stage (and curtain) were perfect for our ceremony. And I love the embossed tin ceiling. it is a perfect, elegant canvas to create your perfect wedding.

The Vox Theatre was simply the BEST place for our wedding! The feel was perfect for our spring wedding! I didn't have to decorate too much-- because the place has a great feel and openess to it! Definitely saved us some money in that aspect! I couldn't have been happier with all the help Nicole and Chad gave me! Chad is easy going and very helpful! He was flexible and helped make my day super stress-free! Thanks EVERYONE at the Vox for making our day so wonderful and memorable!

We were very happy with the Vox. The event coordinator switched on us a few months before the wedding, which made us nervous. But they were good about asking questions and contacting us back so there wasn't any confusion between the previous coordinator and current one. They were helpful in helping us place everything and giving advice on which layout options were the best. There were a couple things that I felt could have been more clear. I understand they have a certain amount of hours for every event. But when we scheduled our rehearsal, they took an hour out of our setup time. The rehearsal took maybe 30 mins at the max and I felt like they were pretty strict on keeping track of your hours. Just make sure you clear this up in the beginning. The coordinator Chad helped us set up for everything, which was very helpful. We were very happy with the service and assistance we received from the Vox.

My husband and I loved everything about this venue. We love that it's not the traditional place to have a wedding/reception because of the theatre lookand you can bring in whatever catering company you want, not only that, Nichole the wedding coordinator is amazing. She went over and beyond to help us the day of the wedding. She took initiative and corrected things that the rental company messed up. She cleaned up after them, moved lighting around that they misplaced and made everything ok for us on our wedding day. I definitely recommend the Vox for your event.
