The W Minneapolis has always been a favorite spot in the cities for my husband and myself. When we were looking at wedding venues we searched all over the cities and I am pretty sure toured every venue we could, but weren't finding exactly what we were looking for. When we toured the Foshay it just felt right for so many reasons. We worked with Jodi and she was so wonderful throughout the entire process. The space was beautiful and the food was spectacular. We had so many compliments from guests. We were so happy we went with the W Minneapolis! They made our wedding truly special.
When you dream of the prefect wedding alot comes to mind but when we found The Foshay it was unforgettable and beautiful past perfect. From the very time our guest enter to exiting its a dream. The service we reiceved from The Forshay start to finish with the entire Wedding process was wonderful. They made us feel like family. With mutiple trips to the venue to sort details eager to return time and time again. Also following up with any questions weather it was phone calls, emails you name it, the staff always wanted to make us happy and confident in our choice as our unforgettable memory that will be with us forever. We couldn't have imagined our wedding as much as a success without the staff from The Foshay. Thank you From The Tirado Family
I actually proposed to my (now) wife at the W Hotel Minneapolis Foshay last year. When it came time to select a wedding venue, we visited at least 10 different potential venues. The last location we visited was the W Hotel Minneapolis. After just 5 minutes, it was immediately clear that we wanted to host our wedding there! Not only does the space hold a lot of personal meaning to us, but it’s also an AMAZING, world class event space with an unusually ultra-modern throwback aesthetic.
UNIQUE LOCATION
We fell in LOVE with the compelling history of the Foshay Tower, as well as its modern decor and aesthetic. It’s interesting that this venue is both modern in its furnishings, but also pays attention to the rich history of the building. Photographically, there are multiple spaces in the hotel which are unique and beautiful, from the Observation Deck, Prohibition Bar, Living Room Bar, and Great Room. The exterior of the building, of course, is iconic if you’re from Minnesota. The W Hotel Foshay is a pretty unique place that you just can’t find anywhere else in Downtown Minneapolis. If you want a contemporary (hipper than hip) downtown wedding (like we did) look no further than the W Hotel Minneapolis Foshay.
SERVICE
For our wedding, we worked with Jodi Bahr (catering sales manager) and Brandon Peterson (complex sales coordinator) who were both remarkable. Jodi took the time to answer our questions (there were many) and was remarkably flexible with any curveball we threw at her, especially the day of. Everyone on the waitstaff and hotel staff is extremely professional and friendly. Our guests were in terrific hands. We found the day of our wedding to be reasonably stressful, as we had many moving parts to our day, but Jodi and her team were extraordinarily accommodating to our needs and helped alleviate the stress by taking care of the numerous little details that go along with setup.
CATERING
Our wedding was about 130 guests, with all aspects held in one location. Cocktail hour is held in a generous space in the foyer and dinner is served in a very large dining hall called the Great Room. The catering is from Parasole, the same company behind some of the Twin Cities most prestigious restaurants like Manny’s and Pittsburgh Blue. Wedding food can often be hit or miss, but our guests left our wedding incredibly pleased with the plated dinners and world class service from the waitstaff and bartenders. We received multiple comments from our guests on how the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. I will also note that the chairs, tables, and lighting are uniquely high quality. Like I mentioned, we visited a lot of different venues. The chairs and tables were the best we saw. The chairs in particular are very cool looking and more importantly, are exceptionally comfortable and cushioned. Even the ceiling lighting is eye catching, in that it holds these circular fixates that emit a striking magenta-purple hue.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Our special day was truly amazing. The venue and the W Hotel Minneapolis team definitely were a huge part of that. This is a remarkable space to host your event, especially a wedding. We recommend Jodi, her team, and the venue in high regard.
Review summary for those short on time: The W was a wonderful choice for our wedding!
After reviewing and visiting countless venues for our wedding, my wife and I selected the W. We couldn't be happier with our decision. The experience of working with Jodi and the entire team at the W was outstanding!
Jodi went above and beyond the call of duty from day one to make sure that we understood all of our options and felt comfortable with the process. Through multiple in-person tours of the facility and many e-mails, Jodi tackled any and all questions with friendliness and speed. We always felt that we had an outstanding single point of contact with Jodi who has looking after us and our event.
The facility and food at the W are beyond compare. There isn't better food anywhere. Period. The W doesn't include any hidden fees or room rental costs like most other places do which was a great feature for us. All told we feel we received an excellent value for a premium experience for our guests!
My wife and I got married at the W Minneapolis in June 2015 and had a fantastic experience! The setup was perfect for our guests; the spaces for the reception and cocktail hour are well integrated with the rest of the hotel. Our wedding was about 160 people, which was perfectly sized for the space. In the reception hall specifically, there is a lot of natural light that comes through the windows and a great natural focal point with the mural wall at one end.
The food was also one of the top highlights of our wedding reception. All the menu options are cooked in the same kitchen as Manny's steakhouse (one of the best in the city), and the quality does not disappoint. I cannot recommend the filet with whipped horseradish potatoes enough. Truly delicious.
To make our wedding as convenient as possible, we also set up a room block with the W. Many of our guests chose to stay there and thought the accommodations were very comfortable and a good value, especially considering other events around the city that weekend were driving up room rates. The hotel also did a great job with our suite for the night of the wedding, even going as far to have chocolate covered strawberries and a few bottles of champagne waiting for us after the reception.
However, the single best part of working with the W for our reception was working with Jodi Bahr and the hotel staff. They went out of their way to help us make the wedding day truly special. I was especially impressed with how easy they were to work with, especially as changes to our reception plan were happening all the way up to the night before the wedding. Jodi is a true professional that really understood the type of wedding we were looking to have. She was also great about responding to emails in a timely fashion and able to jump on the phone for a few minutes as needed.
You are in great hands with Jodi and the W Minneapolis! It is too bad you only get married once, because they were THAT GREAT to work with.
We used the Foshay as a place for the bridesmaids to get ready in the morning, and the groomsmen to get ready in the early afternoon -- it worked absolutely perfectly. The room was big enough where folks could actually move around, and it was cost-effective compared to other options but nicer than getting ready at my church.
There was quick food nearby, the room was awesome, there was a lot of help from staff getting travel figured out, and the guy who helped set up our reservation was *awesome* -- upgrading our room and even giving us parking for free. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
Besides that, we got to stay there that night, too -- it was definitely a memory to sip an old fashioned up at the Prohibition bar all done up in our wedding stuff :) Would definitely recommend to others --
We have been going to The Keys for years. When it was time to figure out our wedding cake, the first place we thought to ask was The Keys.
They have a great value and everyone was so helpful. We talked with the baker before going in to do tastings, and she picked the perfect style of flavors for us.
I would highly encourage other brides and grooms to try out The Keys for their wedding Cake vendor as well!
BEAUTIFUL hotel. Connected to its own bar and club. Right dt for bar crawling. Even had lemon water in the front
