Walden on Lake Houston

We have been lifelong members of Walden on Lake Houston and so working with the staff was very easy! Stella is the best coordinator to work with! She paid attention to each detail that we needed and had great suggestions as well. We loved her personal touch on things also. I would definately recommend this venue! The ballroom is gorgeous by itself, but looked amazing with our decorations in it. It was such an elegant night and everyone enjoyed themselves. I have to say that Stella made that happen!

I'll admit Walden was a bit of a drive for us, but for the view and the price I decided to give it a shot. I am so thankful I did. Everything was wonderful. We received more for our money then we could have hoped for. Everyone we met at the venue was friendly and helpful (it is an active country club, you have to keep in mind weddings are extra activities). We started with Fallon as a coordinator, but later the role was taken over by Stella who didn't miss a beat. Stella was helpful and patience as well as excited for us. She is a very pleasant person. We went with recommended vendors, which were exactly what was promised. They were also tried and true by the venue, so it was easier to trust them. The food was great. The bar service and staff were a lot of fun and our guest had a great time with them. Everyone was just blown away. So happy with my experience. I really can't say more just so happy with Walden on Lake Houston.

We recently got married here and it was perfect. Fallon was a fantastic planner and was very down to earth and handled all of the stressful things so that we could actually spend our time enjoying the night. The large windows that overlook the lake make for beautiful pictures at sunset. The price was very affordable in comparison to other venues and we were even able to afford an open bar and plenty of food for everyone on a pretty small budget. The staff was awesome and we couldn't have wished for a more perfect wedding. I would DEFINITELY recommend this venue.

The venue caught our eye from the beginning. The location was a little far, but is WAY worth it! It sits right off of Lake Houston with a bridge that connects the neighborhood to the country club. You drive through a neighborhood, of course, and are greeted by local ducks if the weather is cool enough. The venue has two (2) large locker rooms that is big enough for the entire wedding party to get ready in. Fallon, Director of Catering, was with us every step of the way and answered every email and phone call! No matter how ridiculous the question was, she was there to answer it for us. She was really willing to work with us and gave us plenty of ideas and contacts to vendors they recommend to make things easier on us. The packages they offered were awesome and really convenient for those brides that know that they have a control problem (like myself) and they literally take the wheel for you. Fallon's assistant Lauren was great! We did not meet her until the wedding was a little closer, but she was great and really personable! I definitely recommend this for any couple looking to do either an intimate or huge wedding! The venue holds about 200 comfortably. The food is AMAZING, but they are willing to try new menu items! They actually encourage it! The tasting was my favorite part! Towards the end of the dinner service, the servers will come and party with you which makes it even more fun because they are down to get down! They have an awesome memory and can remember who had what drink when going to the bar. If I could have another party, I would definitely try and throw it there! I had so much fun and we are still getting feedback from our guests on how much fun it was and how awesome the food was! Great job Walden!

Where do I begin. I had an awesome experience with the Walden. From the time we came in to view the venue to the day of the wedding it has been a smooth and awesome experience. Fallon and Tim are definitely a great team that ensures that you have everything you need. When we initially started looking for venues we came across a lot that were either over priced or venues that allowed multiple events to occur at the same time of our ceremony and reception. We finally decided to come to the Walden and it offered a private ceremony with a great price. We did have a few golfers out the day of the wedding however, they were no where near our area and the ones that were close had a lot of respect towards the event and ensured not to get in the way. The setup of the venue, food, and overall help was excellent. A lot of my guest commented on how well the staff helped to ensure that the event was successful. The staff was very helpful to make sure we had everything we needed whether it was extra dinner napkins or lighting outside, they had it and offered it at no additional charge. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a nice venue that gives you everything you want and more.

Thank you so very much for making our wedding on 20th of April the best it possibly could have been. The location was sensational but more importantly you were all warm, friendly, extremely professional and very well organised. It was seamless! Also, big thanks to Fallon Flaughlin she did an amazing job from start to finish!!

Fallon and the entire team at Walden on Lake Houston were amazing and extremely helpful ever since we first contacted them. She was very responsive and attentive during the process. She made my wedding day (and the days leading up to it) much less stressful. From coordinating with all of my vendors, to setting up decorations exactly as I wanted, she really did go above and beyond. We held our ceremony outside on the gazebo, which provided beautiful scenery and good weather. The bridge overlooking the lake is a GREAT spot for bridal portraits. The reception was a blast, and we ended the evening with a sparkler send-off, which looked amazing in pictures. We honestly could not have picked a better venue for our wedding day. It was everything I could have asked for and more.

Fallon is so remarkable at what she does. She was so amazing on my wedding day. She made me calm and helped me when I was freaking out about my photo booth. She exceeded my expectations above and beyond. She is wonderful

My husband and I were married at Walden on Lake Houston Country Club this past November. We initially chose Walden for the location in proximity to our church where we decided to wed. We had a full buffet dinner for our 4 hour reception. Everything was easy with Fallon and her crew. We fell in love with the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the golf course and Lake Houston. So much so, we changed our reception time to early in the evening so our guests could have a cocktail hour in the main reception room as the sun was setting. It was PERFECT! While our guests nibbled on delicious appetizers and drinks, Stephen and I and our photographers made use of the perfect sunset to capture our sweet photos alone with the sun setting behind us. The bridal room was perfect for getting ready in as they have a long 6 foot counter and mirrored vanity area. The only downside was some pro-golf members coming into the room to use the bathroom. They told us that they have requested Walden to put a sign on the door saying the room was in use as they were embarrassed to be coming through as we took our "getting ready" photos. The food was amazing, the alcohol poured freely and our guests got down on the floor. The staff was fun but respectful. All in all I would DEFINITELY recommend Walden to other brides! The setting is glorious, especially if you time it right, the food and drink was great, the price was affordable but not cheap and Fallon was a breeze to work with!

My wedding was amazing! Fallon made it run so smoothly and made it perfect! The food was awesome and all of my guests had nothing but good things to say about the service and the food! I would definitely recommend Walden to future brides!

I had my wedding reception at Walden Country Club and everything turned out perfect. Fallon is very accommodating and in the end helps out with some duties others would have to pay a wedding planner for. There was a few minor details that could've been prevented, for example DJ wanted to start toasts but nobody had champagne (even when a schedule was given to her). But it took 5 minutes and everything was smooth again (I'm sure our Matron of honor and my dad appreciated this!). Everybody loved the food and open bar was nice. Good value. Still highly recommend!

I had a great experience with the Walden and their staff. Fallon was very helpful the whole time, if i had any questions she was always quick to respond. The food was delicious and they did a great job setting up in 45min since they had another wedding before ours. Everything was seamless and turned out great. All our guest were talking about how great the food was and how beautiful everything looked. It was also helpful that I used the DJ they recommended since they had a good relationship and coordinated everything perfectly.

They did well with helping me plan, taste the menu, explan things, and offered to put up my decorations for free. During the actual wedding, I had a hard time finding the wedding planner when I needed her. They took a chocolate sculpture that was on my grooms cake to the back when they were cutting the cake and I never say the sculpture again. I wanted to take it home. They never asked me what I wanted them to do with it. The bartender complained to my brother that someone ordered a martini. The bartender opened at least two that I know of, bottles of beer with a cork screw and my aunt cut her mouth on the beer bottle since be chipped the glass. They kept my decorations that I wanted back, up for two more weddings. I paid for the decorations and they were mine to have back, not the other two brides. I had to go take everything off the ceiling myself to get my lights and tulle back. I received no compensation for this happening.

We had a wonderful time at our reception! It was beautiful, inexpensive, and a great place to have our special day. The coordinator is very helpful and very organized. The food was also very good.

My rating of Terrible is for the wedding coordinator and the management of the Walden. The cleaning, setup staff, and kitchen get a rating of great, 5.0. My daughter originally booked with Stella and she was good. But when Fallon took over she never returned a phone call and was horrible on communication. I went over there a couple of days before the wedding and talked to Mary the assistant. I was given a time the morning of the wedding that we could come decorate. I was told the reception hall would be all set up. Three of us went up early that morning and found the reception hall was trashed from the event the night before. No one was around. I found some management people and they could have cared less. We were told that there was another event in that hall that afternoon just a couple of hours before our wedding. We came back up two hours before the wedding with our decorations, flowers, cakes, our clothes. The event was still going on and the room still needed to be cleaned and reset. The cleaning and setup staff were great. They got in a got the job done and decorated while we helped. It was cutting it way too close and too stressful for the bride. It ended up a beautiful wedding in the gazebo, a wonderful reception with great food and a wonderful wait staff during the reception. But communication and organization are not their strong points.

Stella knows how to take care of a couple getting married! There is a variety of packages depending on your budget. The ballroom is inviting with a nice sized dance floor. They work well with all of your other vendors and get everything set up so that you don't have to worry about a thing. We had a wonderful experience

My husband & I were very excited when we booked our reception at Walden. With the amount of money spent, we shouldn't have gotten the run around with the Events Coordinator at Walden. She was not even there for our 1st meeting...the assistant had to call & remind her that she had an appointment! There was no communication until I contacted her 2 weeks before the wedding to see when we would be having a tasting. Again, the Coordinator was not there & the Chef had to cook up the food for us to taste! The lady who does the linens wasn't notified that she needed to be at Walden to meet us...and had to hop out of the pool with her grandkids to meet us (she was so embarrassed)! We were told that the fountain would be working & the trash outside the building would be picked up...didn't happen. At the reception, half of my guests didn't get hors d'oeuvres. The wedding party (which included my bridesmaid that was 8 mths pregnant) also didn't receive any appetizers! The flow of tables to the food was not smooth...my grandmother was last to get a plate! Everyone was sweating...the overhead fans were not on, and it didn't feel like the air conditioning was on either! It was cooler outside than inside (on a hot Texas July afternoon)! My photographers (who were invited to eat at the reception) were rudely told by the Coordinator that they were not allowed to eat anything at the reception. After the cake cutting, the Coordinator decided that her services were done and LEFT! The cake, which was taken in the kitchen to be cut, was not put in containers we brought to take home. Nor was the extra food that WE paid for! The chef and servers were very nice, courteous, and helpful on our day. BUT since we had such a bad experience with the Events Coordinator, we can't help but give Walden a low rating. Hopefully others won't have such a poor experience with the Coordinator. :(

Walden was wonderful! They have a great space and the food is amazing! Also, they have the best prices around.

We also had our ceremony here and were able to decide at the rehearsal (24 hours before ceremony) to move the ceremony inside and they worked with us to make it exactly how we wanted. Mary and Chef Daniel were both wonderful to work with and Chef Daniel made sure we all had a great time! including giving shots to my 'party table' of friends. The staff made sure that my new husband and I were well taken care of -- I never finished a drink because they'd always have a new one for me. They also made sure we were able to eat (something i've heard is rare for the bride and groom);There was a miscommunication about the time of our open bar, that was corrected during the evening. Be sure to provide good directions to it, it can be hard for guests to find, but is a wonderful place!
