Warehouse XI is an incredible space with endless opportunities to turn your event into whatever you can dream up! We had our wedding reception here and had such a great experience! Peggy is SO helpful, full of recommendations, and extremely accommodating which was a huge gift dealing with the stressors of wedding planning. Highly recommend hosting your event here if you are looking for a space to make your own!
I cannot thank Peggy enough for taking care of my baby shower this past Sunday. Her space is the PERFECT black slate for your event. They have so much space, unique lighting, do everything to help make your event a success. I have never been more grateful for her time!! Sadly, when a festival in Somerville was effecting our parking, Peggy went out and handled it for myself, the vendors and my guests. She went above and beyond to kick butt to protect my experience and make sure my guests were able to leave smoothly. Thank you so much to their team!!!!!!
Warehouse XI is the ultimate blank space that you can transform into anything you want for your wedding. Peggy and her team were very easy to work with and we had a lot of freedom to decorate the space to our style.
Look, I’m not sure I can review the venue since I never actually got to tour it. All I know is that I’m a wedding vendor myself so I feel like I can’t let this go unshared as I would not have a job myself if the roles were reversed. The venue’s contact scheduled a viewing with me this evening at 6pm. My fiancé and I arrived and waited over 45 minutes for someone to show up and no one did. We waited to submit a review until we got a response just in case someone truly had trouble on the way.
The response we got in a nutshell: “I’m sorry no one showed up. I do office work and someone else was supposed to be there.” First of all, I was never told I should be expecting anyone other than the person I was communicating with (how about introducing me by email?) Second, I just think she forgot and couldn’t admit it, but after having an email go not responded to for several days prior to this, it leads me to believe they just aren’t on top of things.
If you give this place a shot, I hope you have better luck. Truly. But I ruled this venue out based on my experience today.
We had our wedding at Warehouse XI this past October, and would strongly recommend this to other couples looking to really personalize their wedding and have it in the city. We live in Somerville and wanted to have our wedding close by and easy for guests. We used the small park next door for our ceremony and the warehouse space for the reception. Since we knew this was a unique venue, we prioritized working with vendors that were familiar with the space and staff. We loved having so much freedom in the space, and were lucky to be able to get in the night before to decorate with personal details. Peggy (owner) was beyond wonderful to work with, and kindly allowed us to stop by the space many times as we were envisioning our decor. She also provided great vendor/decor recommendations that set us up for success the day-of (she was also present on site all day/evening to help ensure things went smoothly). For couples looking for a lively city vibe, we would highly recommend!
We loved the space and the flexibility to really make it our own!
Amazing blank canvas for an amazing "rustic chic" feel. Wonderful staff and so many options to make the wedding day great
Warehouse XI is a gem. We are so happy that we hosted our wedding there.
We first saw Warehouse XI when we attended a small wedding celebration at the venue. We immediately fell in love with the place – it was open-yet-intimate, and offered a blank slate. After we got engaged, we immediately reached out to book it.
If you’re a creative person looking for something different from traditional wedding venues, this is the place for you. It’s basically a canvas on which to paint your personality. You can do almost anything you want with it – if you can imagine it, you can probably do it!
Also, the owner, Peggy, is incredibly nice and flexible. She’ll work with you to help execute your vision for the space. She loves helping couples transform the venue.
Peggy also has good connections to stellar vendors. The list of affiliates is very impressive.
The venue is also next to a bunch of solid bars. After our wedding, it gave us an opportunity to bring guests out for some late-night fun.
If you like to be creative, you should definitely consider Warehouse XI for your next event!
Warehouse XI is an amazing venue for your wedding! It is a beautiful blank canvas that allows you to decorate any way you want. We had our ceremony and lawn games right outside at Stone Place Park which was an added bonus. The owner Peggy and her staff were so easy to work with and everyone was extremely accommodating. Highly recommended!!!
We are wedding photographers ourselves so we've been to many different venues and wanted something unique, special, and untraditional for our own wedding. Warehouse XI was the perfect space. We had about 100 people there and it the size of the space just right. It really is a blank canvas and you can do whatever you choose to it. If you wanted to hire a planner and designer to bring your vision for the space to life, it would come out beautifully.
My husband and I decided to take a more DIY approach. With the help of our friends and family we decorated the entire space the night before and I definitely recommend getting the space the day before if you're DIYing it. We created our craft beer bar, layered the dessert table with many cakes, and piled cheeses upon cheeses for our charcuterie table. We had biergarten tables and benches for our guests to sit at and had the amazing Sensational Paella cater. It was incredible.
We had planned on our ceremony being at the park next door but had to move it inside when the weather decided to downpour on us day. We are actually really happy that it rained all day because bringing the ceremony inside made it much more intimate. It was beautiful and everything was perfect!
Peggy, the owner of Warehouse XI, is wonderful. Being wedding photographers ourselves, we've worked with many different venue owners and Peggy is the most down to earth, fun, and helpful person to work with. During our planning she answered every question, helped solve every problem we came across, and offered ideas from previous weddings there. On the day of she was there working the entire time to make sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have pulled off all of our crazy ideas without her!
It really was the perfect place for us and our wedding, I only wish we could have a party like that every weekend!
Warehouse XI provides a great blank slate for couples who want a lot of freedom in decorating their venue. We really wanted to DIY a lot of our wedding, so this was a great choice for us - one of the rare spaces in the area that gives couples this much freedom. With this freedom of course comes a lot of work on the couple’s part. All that is provided is the space, so you will need to provide chair/table/linen rentals, decorations, etc., and will need to find a solution to the lack of a kitchen (which we resolved by working with a food truck for catering and precooling beverages at home the day before. While a traditional caterer can bring in kitchen equipment, there isn’t much space in the venue unless you want to rent out a side room for an additional charge or sacrifice the back of the main space).
One of the challenges we encountered while planning our wedding was how difficult it was to communicate with WXI. Getting a response to an email with simple logistical or venue questions was often difficult. This was especially a problem during the week before the wedding when we asked how to enter the venue and other questions about logistics, and didn’t receive a response. After we decided to communicate directly with the owner, Peggy, via cell phone, though, we had much more success - she was very helpful in the days leading up to our wedding.
During the wedding weekend, Peggy was ridiculously helpful and did way more than she had to, for setup, cleanup, making sure things ran smoothly. When you book the place, she tells you she's usually there to help but can't make guarantees, so we really didn't know what to expect. Because there wasn’t another event the day before our wedding, we were able to start setting up early (which was tremendously helpful!). We also didn’t need to clean up until their next event (which was very nice considering the day after our event was Labor Day and the rentals company would charge $250 extra for pickup that day!). Peggy’s brother even showed up and helped us rehang our string lights in a better way. Peggy was there from the morning when we were setting up until after we left around midnight; working almost the entire time.
The price and location are also very appealing (although we would recommend booking an extra day, at reduced cost, for setup; we thought it wasn't critical but I think we're pretty lucky no one booked the day before so we were able to get in early), and I'm not sure if there is another space like it nearby to pick from if that's what someone is looking for. It’s perfect for a smaller wedding (although they can fit more than a hundred people if needed, we found the space to be perfect for our 65-person wedding, with round tables and plenty of space for the buffet, bar, DJ, and a dance floor). It’s also only a 5-minute walk to Prospect Hill Park, where we had our ceremony. Despite a few communication problems earlier on, we were able to have a wonderful wedding there, thanks to how versatile the space is, and more importantly, how tremendously helpful Peggy was the day-of. Would definitely recommend!
I know many wedding venues get 5-star ratings because of the after-glow of what is supposed to be one of the best days of your life, but everyone from Warehouse XI went above and beyond. We planned our destination wedding in 5 weeks. When I called to see their potential availability for our Leap day wedding, Faith wasn't reluctant to help our bizarre wedding scheme in the least. She recommended a fantastic wedding planner, Cristen from Cristen & Co., and wasted no time making sure that we would have the most fantastic wedding possible.
Peggy, the owner, made me feel like I was coming home. She has a warmth about her that is not easily replicated. My MIL wasn't feeling well after the wedding and Peggy stepped in to make sure she was absolutely taken care of.
Warehouse XI seems to be the gathering spot for many up-and-coming local creative entrepreneurs in Boston. The venue itself is almost completely customizable to what you would like for your wedding. The white walls are fresh and elegant with a modern edge. This space is used for more than just weddings so it doesn't feel contrived. I personally loved that the warehouse seemed to be out of the way in an enclave of it's own, like a secret hidden the city. I will say that parking might be an issue, but I am confident that the staff at Warehouse XI could handle that in a cinch.
Another plus is that they are located near Forklift catering, which you honestly cannot go wrong with.
It's amazing feeling when the vendors at your wedding know and truly seem to enjoy working together. We went to Warehouse XI for a venue and left with a wedding team that felt like family.
