The Washington Crossing Inn is a beautiful, historic venue with an amazing event staff. We had our wedding there in September 2024 and couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. The outdoor gardens are gorgeous, though since it rained on our day, our ceremony took place in their tent location, which was also beautiful and intimate. The event coordinators were patient and efficient throughout the planning process. Highly recommend it!
Christina and Danielle were incredible and made everything run so smoothly - I cannot say enough great things. They were extremely responsive and helpful before and during the reception. They also had great recommendations which made hiring vendors much easier. The food was delicious and got many compliments from our guests. Christina very kindly specially arranged to get a particular liquor for our signature drink, which my husband really appreciated. The bridal suite was set up so nicely for our arrival with snacks and drinks which helped everyone take a second to breathe. I was absolutely thrilled with how beautifully all of the decor was set out, and all of the staff made drop off and packing up far easier than I was expecting. The garden was absolutely stunning for the cocktail hour. The perfect setting for a fall wedding reception! Absolutely thrilled with our decision to choose the WCI!
We celebrated my son's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner and welcoming party. It was the most beautiful and easy party I have organized. Christina helped me create a fantastic experience for all my guests. I can't be happier.
Thank you, Washington Crossing, for the lifetime memories.
So happy that we went with Washington Crossing Inn for our wedding reception! They have wonderful and reasonably priced packages that minimize the number of additional vendors that you need to find. It's fabulous having the park a quick walk away for gorgeous pictures. They offer comfortable rooms to get ready in for the bridal party and groom's party. Most importantly, the staff (especially Christina, the banquet manager) go above and beyond to make sure your day is exactly what you are hoping for. From helping us craft our (delicious!) signature cocktail to setting up the room wonderfully to being extraordinarily flexible and accommodating of our desire to hold the cocktail hour outside on a day with spotty rain, I can't imagine a more helpful venue!
Be careful when you sign the contract. No changes are allowed and you can be left with a lot of money out of pocket. They will not work with you if you need to make any changes to number of guests and will keep all money you have already deposited.
Amazing place to have the most perfect pictures done. This traditional and historic venue has warm, family estate type feel that makes anyone feel at home and comfortable. The food here is incredible, nobody left hungry and my husband and I actually sat and ate dinner. First time I saw every single guest sitting down and eating dinner. Cocktail hour was magnificent in the garden area, perfect fall decorations and beautifully kept. Even if you were to be rained out, the tent they have for back up would have been a beautiful backdrop as well. I knew ten years ago when my sister was looking for a venue this would be the place for me, it has that special something that makes you instantly fall in love. Every detail was taken care of and the maitre'd for the night, Nita, was there every moment for the wedding and made sure everything was how I wanted it and made sure I had an horderves platter in my BEAUTIFUL bridal suite.. that was perfect. EVERYTHING at my wedding was absolutely stunning and would not change a thing!
Great place for a wedding. Beautiful venue, reasonable prices, and the FOOD IS EXCELLENT. We got married here weeks ago and people are still raving about the food. Kelly (the event coordinator) is great to work with and answered all of my questions throughout the process. Flowers and Cake are included in the price. The only downfall was you can't pick up your decorations the next day, everything needs to be boxed up (which the venue does for you) that night and taken with you. Our day of coordinator (provided by the venue) was not prepared for that task and was frantically trying to pack things last minute. The staff forgot several items, most of which my family members were able to grab. That really is the only downfall. I would highly recommend them for any event.
Wow - I had a NYE wedding here and several guests have told me it was the best wedding ever. I booked NYE at the suggestion of one of the wedding planners and I even got a discount for it. The discount allowed me to get the premium package, which was amazing. The cocktail hour was outstanding - a raw bar, tons of premium butlered appetizers (caviar!), and a large antipasto station. The dinner was fantastic - I have no idea how they cooked 130 rare ahi tunas, filet mignons and scallops and they all came out hot and perfectly cooked. I have never had a better entree at a wedding. Not sure why there are bad reviews here on the planners. My planner, Kelly, was excellent. Any time I had a question, she responded within 24 hours. I dropped off all my stuff the day before with some instructions and everything (even my balloon drop that I had them set up) was exactly as I asked. The room was beautifully decorated for Christmas. They assigned someone to help me and my husband throughout the reception, Nita, and she could not do enough to help us. At the end of the night, they packed up everything neatly for us and even packed up the 4 entrees for the guests that couldn't make it. I was lucky enough that my dad paid for my reception, and he cannot stop talking about how wonderful it was. It was really a fantastic party. Thank you!!!
Wedding was perfect and food was amazing! My wedding really was perfect, well, besides the rain. We originally had our cocktail hour out in the garden but due to rain we had to have it under the tent. Everything worked out and everyone loved the appetizers. The food was great. The entrees were wonderful and the deserts were great. All my guests complimented me on choosing a venue with delicious food and lots of character. The ballroom felt warm and inviting. The bar line was never too long and the dance floor was always full! Only one negative, the wedding host we worked with originally transitioned our wedding to another host without much communication to us what was going on. The original host was a big part of why we decided to go with the Inn. She made us feel special and that the Inn would do whatever it could to make our wedding special. When our wedding was switched to the other host, we weren't told and every time we spoke with her she never seemed to know what was going on. She also seemed to only be interested in tell us what we couldn't have at our wedding as opposed to the original host who went out of her way to make things work for us. Overall, wedding was amazing and would absolutely recommend it to another couple. I would just recommend that they stay on top of things because they cannot rely on the Inn's host.
The quality of food for the price is unbeatable. The food was absolutely amazing!! We received numerous compliments from our guests. The all inclusive package relieved a lot for me because I did not have to deal with outside vendors.
However, I wish the staff could have been more attentive to us and certain details on the day of the wedding. I specifically submitted sketches of how I wanted the decor to look and added that they should feel free to use their own judgment too. The positive is that they literally do what you ask. On the flip side, they won't do any more. For example, I had candles as part of my decor and they were set up the way I wanted but did not light them. Why would I have candles if I didn't want them lit? I also gave them tons of flower petals and asked them to use them all and they did not. I felt like I wasted money for petals now.
During the details meeting, we were told that there was a room where the groom and his groomsmen could get ready. On the day of, they scrambled to find us space and then charged us an extra $150 for the room.
The venue did a good job, overall. I hope they are more attentive to details and cognizant of what they tell prospective clients in the future.
Eh, I loved my wedding and the style of the venue but the wedding planner was horrible.
- changed wedding planner a couple months before wedding
- rehearsal was horrible, the planner was mad that she had to be there and was 30 minutes late she said that my minister should be running it. I asked her if she would be doing it at least 2 times prior and she always assured me that she would. When she was lining us up she said " I need the least important person here" who says that?! I nearly died, the first person to walk was my oldest friend.
- The weather, granted we didn't know if it was going to rain but she said at 4pm "We are good! it is going to hold off" this was the nicest thing that she said to me all day. Fast forward an hour later I was outside taking pictures and she asked my dad if we were moving the wedding indoors (ugly tent). My dad (love him but) did not have a thing to do with planning the wedding, he said “I guess so” and they moved the entire wedding without telling me. Then they said that cocktail hour would be "done, it's done" if it rained. My mom said what do you mean about "it's done?" she goes "over, you forfeit it".
- They kept saying we don’t have enough time to set up chairs for the ceremony to be outside. My groomsmen and DJ did it.
- They are the most inflexible venue in the entire world, zero customer service. If the venue wasn’t pretty they would be out of business
- Food was VERY good. But for cocktail hour there was not enough. In a meeting she said that it would be “plentiful” not the case, she also said that they would have 6 people serving, there were 2 people for a 146 person wedding. Ballroom was jammed packed, they told us it would accommodate 170 easily. Not the case!
- We had an extended open bar for the last 30 minutes which was paid on credit card. There were about 2 people near the bar with zero line, everyone seemed to have already had enough beverages and we did not have a “last call” announcement. The video shows just a couple of people at the bar throughout the last 30 minutes. They charged me for 75 drinks! How can you even pour 75 drinks in 30 minutes? This was a total scam. The bartenders were good, waiters were good, reception host was an angel. Wedding planner was a bipolar mess, and a terrible person. Flexibility on anything was always a hard NO, I think they took enjoyment in saying NO. They lied about so much, just don’t aggravate yourself with this place.
We want to first say how much we enjoyed having our wedding reception at the Washington Crossing Inn. My husband and I love the area and found the WCI to be very charming and quaint. It has a unique, antique setting that you don't always see at traditional reception venues. The gardens where we had our cocktail hour are absolutely beautiful and great for taking pictures. The reception area is also very nice- they have beautiful chandeliers and it also has an antique, vintage feel. However, the space is a little small...we had about 160 guests and the room holds 180, but it felt a little tight. This room would be ideal for around 120 guests.
For the quality and amount of food you get at the price they offer is amazing, and almost unheard of at a wedding venue. The WCI provides you with your cake (which you go to the baker to tell exactly what you want- and its delicious) and fresh floral centerpieces (which is almost unheard of and saved us so much money!) The food at the WCI is so good and they provide a lot of it...we had a lot of guests raving about the food!
Rachael and Jane, the wedding coordinators, are amazing and answered our questions so quickly. They were professional and efficient. We never had to wait more than a day to hear back from them. They were also extremely accommodating and polite. The only negative I would have to say was with our maitre d. Our cocktail hour didn't start until 6 and our bridal party came at 5 after we were done taking pictures. We were just hanging in the bridal suite but we were never introduced to her at all and didn't meet her until after cocktail hour when the bridal party was clueless about where to go as the guests were being directed into the ballroom.(We didn't know whether to go into the bridal suite, stay outside in the garden or what!) My husband and I were also not showed the room before hand...we were lucky we came a little early before the cocktail hour and snuck in while workers were getting the room ready so we were able to see all of our personal touches. Also, we were supposed to have my bridal bouquet on the sweetheart table but it wasn't displayed. It wasn't until we had to track down the maitre d to finally get the bridal bouquet on the table. Also she waited until we were completely done with our meal to ask how everything was- as a former server I think she should have came midway through the meal to ask.
However, those negatives are minor in the grand scheme of things. We feel that we made a great choice having our wedding reception at the WCI. For the quality of the food and the price per person...you can't go wrong!
Our wedding on 5/24/2015 at the Washington Crossing Inn was the image of perfection. Every detail was perfectly done and the staff in every capacity was hospitable and friendly to all of our guests. We used the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space which was beautiful (in addition the the perfect weather). Many guests stated it looked right out of a movie! Rachael was a wonderful hostess who allowed me to be at ease the entire day. The Bartenders were friendly and fun to work with, the servers promptly cleared dishes. The food was spectacular and served hot and perfectly cooked in addition the the portion sizes being quite large. The Bridal suite was large, and a very nice place to escape to both during the night, and in preparation for our event.
Jane and Rachael were very accommodating to all of my pre-event emails and details which needed to be set up. They understood my vision and allowed me to have the most perfect wedding day I could have imagined. They were a pleasure to work with through the entire process.
I recommend the Washington Crossing Inn to any Bride searching for a great group of people to work with, and a hassle free and perfect day. I will cherish our wedding day forever, and cannot wait to return for dinner on our anniversary!

My husband and I were very happy with our wedding reception at the WCI. We worked with Jane and Rachael for nearly a year and Rachael was our night-of coordinator, both were fantastic throughout the process! We had a Saturday wedding in March and were able to take advantage of their off-season rate, which allowed us to go for the premium reception package. This package included centerpiece flowers, candelabras, a 3 tier wedding cake, linens, 5 hr open bar, half dozen passed hors d'oeuvres, raw bar, pasta station during cocktail hour, soup, salad, entrée with 3 choices, venetian table, and bananas foster. The price was amazing and with all the inclusions, I’m not sure why anyone would look somewhere else for a ballroom style reception in the area. Our theme was science-chic and I had a ton of personalized details throughout the tables, all of which were handled very well and to my liking. The guests all gushed at how well everything was taken care of! The only negative thing I heard was that the steaks were not cooked to order after the waiters had asked people – they were all served medium/well. I can understand logistically that it would be difficult to make individual ones, but perhaps in the future the steaks should just be served without asking cooking preference so people won’t be dissatisfied/ignored. Otherwise the food was terrific! We had 75 in attendance with 10 tables and the room felt spacious but not empty. Would definitely recommend!
The Washington Crossing Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. Jane and Rachel are great to work with and they make sure that everything goes smoothly the day of the wedding. We had 170 guests which is almost the max for this venue, and Jane and Rachel found a way to arrange the tables in the ballroom so it didn't feel too crowded.
We had our cocktail hour out on the garden patio on a chilly day and they made sure to have plenty of heaters outside for our guests.
The food was delicious! We've had numerous comments from our wedding guests regarding how good the food was.
Additionally, the service the night of the wedding was top-notch. Rachel and her team were on top of everything and couldn't have been more accommodating.
We're so glad we decided to have our wedding reception at Washington Crossing Inn, and would recommend to anyone.
Everything was PERFECT!
My husband and I were married at the Washington Crossing Inn on Sept. 8, 2013. The ceremony and cocktail were held outside in the garden, and the reception was in the ballroom. From the moment we signed the contract until the very last song played on our wedding night, the Washington Crossing Inn was fantastic to work with. The actual venue is beautiful, the staff was 100% friendly and professional, and the food was delicious! All of our guests raved about it being one of the nicest weddings they've ever been to! It is also a great value since the wedding cake and floral centerpieces are included. This venue is perfect for a smaller wedding in a unique and beautiful location.
I loved having Washington Crossing Inn as my reception location. The flowers and cake were included, as was the open bar, all for about $100 per person. I thought it was a great price for an awesome venue. My only issue was that there was a mix-up on the day of and the next wedding accidently had some of their items mixed in with ours as we were leaving, which was quite a hassle, but other than that everything was perfect. Loved it.
I selected Washington Crossing Inn for a variety of reasons: location was convenient for my Philadelphia home and family/friends who lived along the Northeast coast, the food is simply amazing, the venue had a rainy day back-up plan for outdoor ceremonies, the venue is beautiful, and the price was right. The staff from my very first phone call to the day after my wedding were extremely quick to respond, very welcoming, and always helpful. Their cost per person includes a lot of extras centerpieces, open bar). My guests loved the venue and are still raving about the food, how pretty the site was, and how much fun they had. If I had could go back in time to select a wedding venue, I would pick Washington Crossing again.
This was the perfect place to get married. The garden was beautiful and filled with flowers. The food was amazing. The staff was very helpful especially Rachel. I would definitely recommend to any couple looking for a wedding venue.
We recently had a NYE wedding reception at the Washington Crossing Inn and it was perfect! While I grew up in the area, we now live in London and many details had to be taken care of from abroad. The package included just about everything from food and open bar, to the cake and flowers. It made things much easier for us. We were on a budget and the reception was much more luxurious than I had anticipated with the overall amount we spent. The Inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the use of the bridal suite for the day was a big plus.
Washington Crossing was not our original rehearsal dinner venue -- that was flooded out the day before in the East Coast hurricane. Washington Crossing was able to accommodate our party of 25 in 24 hours notice and put together a beautiful dinner that was actually less than our original venue's price. My MIL is quite particular about restaurants and she raved about the Inn. We had a private room upstairs overlooking the garden. Couldn't have been nicer and food was delicious!
Everything about my coctail hour and reception was perfect and flawless! The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and fun! Jane helped me every step of the way and was always available to answer my questions! She was a huge help and very good at what she does. She makes sure every detail was thought of and followed through. I highly recomend Washington Crossing Inn!!!
The entire Staff was great. My banquet coordinator Rachael was exceptional with all details. The day turned out to be absolutely beautiful down to the last detail. The staff was more than helpful. The Rose Garden was so beautiful I cried. I recommend that anyone checks it out...
I could not have been happier with the Washington Crossing Inn. Jane, the wedding coordinator was such a huge help in planning our special day. We were married on the grounds and had our cocktail hour and reception immediately following the wedding. The grounds were beautiful, the food was perfect and the banquet room was intimate and romantic. We have received nothing but compliments from our guests about the food and service at the Inn. This truly is a perfect place for a wedding (shower or private party.)
I have only positive things to say about my experience with the Washington Crossing Inn and Jane, my wedding coordinator. She was very organized and efficient throughout the process and the staff there is amazing, everything ran so smoothly the day of. The grounds are beautiful for taking pictures and for outdoor cocktail hours. The ballroom is lovely and was the perfect size for our 100 person wedding. The food was amazing and the price per person was incredible for all the food our guests received. You also have access to a private bridal suite which was wonderful for hanging out pre-reception, storing all your bridal party's belongings and giving you a space to regroup before heading back to the party. I would highly recommend the Washington Crossing Inn to any bride!
