Watermark Country Club

The Watermark Country Club is the venue that we used for this years Prom venue. The venue is stunning so we did not have to do a lot extra decorating to make the event memorable. The food was great. The staff made sure that all the stations were always full with food. The kids loved the cheesecake bar. I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff during the planning process and during the event. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great place for larger dinner and cocktails. Food was great and delicious. Our event was done without any issues. Thank you to whole team. We will be back for more events.

Watermark was wonderful to work with! The staff was very attentive to detail and did an excellent job. The room was set up and ready to go when we arrived and the food was delicious. We had speciality cocktails, appetizers, a main course, and dessert. Everything went very smoothly!

We had the most wonderful experience at Watermark for our November wedding. The event coordinator was very involved and responsive, and the venue was beautiful and spacious. Would recommend Watermark to anyone!

The staff at Watermark was so helpful, so friendly, and so kind. Anything we needed at any point during our wedding reception was promptly delivered to us. The room is gorgeous, we didn’t need that much decor because it’s already so pretty. The food was so great and we delivered right on time. If you’re considering them for a wedding venue definitely take a tour and it will seal the deal for you!

We used Watermark for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. Sarah Burgess was so helpful during the planning stage and the service and staff were excellent during the event. We used the Grand River Room which was perfect for our dinner party size. We highly recommend this venue for any event.

We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner over a week ago that was perfect. Working with Sarah was a breeze. She and the rest of the staff were great and the food was amazing. I recommend this Watermark Country Club for any banquets or group dinners.

My husband and I got married at Watermark Country Club in June. Haley Kolb made planning extremely easy by always being attentive and quick to respond. She was able to accommodate our requests (having chicken marsala in the buffet and helping us get a golf cart for the day)! Watermark is very spacious, we had 140 guests and still extra space. The golf course is great for any bridal pictures needed and offers a nice patio for guests to stand outside! The staff was excellent, always filling water, clearing plates, and making sure guests were well taken care of.

We are so happy we were able to find Watermark Country Club for our wedding venue. Although, it doesn't pop up first on list of wedding venues in Grand Rapids, they host a lot of corporate and private events all the time. The venue is beautiful with the golf course in the background. The space is flexible and can accommodate large and small parties. Plus the staff was amazing. They really try to make every request possible and we could feel the care and kindness from everyone from the wait staff to all the managers. We would definitely recommend Watermark to anyone!!

Hosted an event for 140 people in the Shore Room. The food was excellent and there was an extensive menu to choose from. The servers and staff were available whenever we needed them and were all very friendly.

As an established venue in the area, Watermark knows how to throw a great party. The staff are helpful and courteous and the sales team are outstanding, especially Vanessa and Sarah. While we didn't use them for a wedding, we did host a great party here and it went perfectly - exactly as we hoped and planned. Delicious food and they let us bring in our own dessert!

We recently hosted a business event for just over 100 people. The venue was perfect, the AV was easy to use, and the staff were great. A handful of our attendees mentioned they have attended weddings at the same venue, and they are always impressed with the space.

We have used RedWater Events for the past few years for our company Christmas party. The attention to detail, the delicious food and the attentive staff make this a great place to host any event. They make the event almost effortless with included linens, beautiful venue and a knowledgeable staff.

Watermark was a phenomenal venue to work with. Not only are the views of the golf course beautiful, but everyone we worked with was kind and professional. Our event coordinator, Laura, was very timely in answering emails, accommodating, and so helpful. Overall, the experience was wonderful.

Our event manager was fantastic. Always quick to help and answer any questions. So helpful in making sure no detail was missed. They coordinated directly with our florist when trying to work on a contingency plan for the weather! We had the best night and could not recommend watermark enough!

We had the most perfect wedding at Watermark! The venue is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and professional. We received so many compliments on the food, and guests loved being able to utilize the patio. We worked with Laura during the planning process and she was incredibly helpful, responsive, and accommodating to all of our requests. We had an amazing wedding at Warermark! We absolutely loved the venue and friendly staff, especially Laura our sales manager! The whole event ran very smoothly. Our only complaint is that the entree portions were on the smaller side with some inconsistencies in preparation. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this venue!

We had our wedding at Watermark and we were just blown away! Everything from the service, to our coordinator, the bartenders, and the food was incredible and exceeded our expectations! We did the buffet style, and had so many comments on how great the food was. Multiple guests said some of the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Laura was our coordinator and she was amazing to work with. I would definitely recommend having your wedding at watermark!

We had the most wonderful wedding reception at the Watermark! The staff was kind, courteous, and very professional. They did a great job keeping all of us on schedule and making sure that all things on their end (dinner, drinks, desserts, cleared dance floor, etc) were all prepared well-before us and our photographer team were ready for that event. Our guests also appreciated the outdoor patio space, perfect for a Saturday wedding in May! Would highly recommend!!

We had originally booked Watermark for their ballroom space for our May 2020 wedding. We ended up having to push the date to October 2020 and move it outdoors. Throughout the entire process Watermark's coordinators were were so incredibly helpful. We had a different coordinator assigned to our event initially and she was great to coordinate with through our meal tastings and when we had to move our date for Covid. Due to Covid layoffs we ended up working with Rylin for our event and she was absolutely incredible. She answered all of my emails/calls promptly and if she didn't know the answer to a question she found it as soon as she could. She really helped me navigate Covid restrictions and overall helped me feel comfortable having our event at Watermark. The property itself is beautiful inside and out. We had our ceremony on the patio and reception outdoors in a tent (that Watermark had rented for all their outdoor brides once Covid hit). The food was incredible, tasting better than I had remembered it at the tasting! All of our guests complimented the quality and portion size. The waiters and bartenders were also extremely friendly and did their job well. Overall we had a wonderful event and I would definitely recommend having your wedding at Watermark!

My daughters wedding was October 3,2020 and I went there loved the placed and booked it. Worked with Vanessa head of all watermark properties for events. Well, we signed up for 5 of us for a food tasting and she told us the wrong time so the food was cold and not good, so I told her and she set up a private tasting and the food was fabulous so we were confident with our choices. Leading up to the wedding it was really really rough and irritating cause we could never get ahold of Vanessa cause she said she was so busy running all the properties, it was so stressful, it took either days to hear back from her. Finally I told her and complained about it that she said it would be best to make appointment with her if I needed to talk to her. REALLY!! Well the day came and after a lot of stressful time with them and me literally kissing but and thanking her a lot just in hopes of the wedding going good, the day came and they ended up putting three sides on the tent which she had refused she could do the whole time of planning and I was so grateful for that cause it was in the fifty’s and very cold, so that helped out a lot, and they also help us out by letting us have cocktail hour on the restaurant patio side were there was more heat for the guest which she told me she wasn’t sure if she could also do that, so I was stressing a lot about. But anyways the 3 stars I gave was cause of the coordination and difficulty I had with her and the cocktail hour I had changed the food and it never got changed and at the reception I had plated meal and one of the choices they literally forgot the sauce on it and it was so dry my guest could not eat it and that was told to us by the staff! I did complain after and they did give me half off of those meals and last hour of the reception they ran out of bud light which I had open bar and they should have not ran out for only a hundred people. But I have to say the WORKERS, THE WAITERS were awesome and super nice they were fantastic the day of! Everyone kept saying how nice and good the waiters were. JUST AWESOME! But the stress leading up to the day was to overwhelming for me and I will probably not have another party there. Or a good idea would be to hire more help so you can at least work with a person that isn’t so busy and if you need to rent anything ask who they work with cause I had to rent chairs and I went through a company and they had to get there chairs out that night which lead me to paying a late fee pick up but if I would have went with the rental company They work with they would have let me leave the chairs there and that would have saved me money.

What a gorgeous venue space! We were so incredibly pleased with how it looked and the amount of space we had for 230 guests. The weather was perfect so we put the patio to good use. Everyone loved being able to be outside as well as inside. I wasn’t able to find another venue with both. Plenty of amazing spots for pictures. The food was also great! All of our guests are still raving about it. We went to the food tasting event with our parents, which I highly recommend doing so you can try whatever is on the menu to choose from. Since I’m giving my full honest review for future brides & grooms, I will say there were a couple of hiccups. Organization and communication on everyone’s part is key for a successful event. Unfortunately we had to switch event coordinators due to her leaving the company, which led to a few unorganized mishaps you never hope for, but nothing that took away from our big day. Overall, I would definitely recommend Watermark for a venue!

The Watermark was such a wonderful venue to work with. Elise was very helpful in planning and was very responsive when I had a million questions and changes to make. The space itself is prettier than any pictures do it justice. Our guests were wowed by how beautiful the scenery was looking out onto the golf course. It was an absolutely perfect venue for our big day.

Booking Watermark as our reception venue was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. They were SO accommodating even when I had to make a change just two days before the wedding. They were kind, flexible and SO professional. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and our guests had a blast. We do not have one complaint in regards to our reception.

My wedding was 9-29-17. It was absolutely perfect! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Everything could not have gone smoother. The venue is just beautiful. The patio area had pretty lights and a fire for guests to enjoy throughout the whole night. Our bridal party was able to get photos by the water fountain, etc on the golf course. the events manager answers to emails and phone calls almost immediately, she is SO organized!

We chose Watermark CC because of the beautiful ballroom and windows looking out over the golf course, the parking, the spaciousness, and the excellent reputation it has in this city. We worked with Chaparral, and found her to be a dream coordinator! Everything about the process of planning a winter reception there was easy, flexible, and high-end. The food was excellent, the bar and selections were great, and the staff were caring, very responsive, and professional. We feel we made the best choice in Grand Rapids!

We chose Watermark Country Club because of the beautiful reception space and couldn't have been happier! The food was great, the service was wonderful, and Chaparral was so easy to work with! I can't say enough good things about this venue and would recommend it to all future brides!

They really worked hard to make sure the day was special with little details that I wanted, ie changing the electronic board for us. Jeanette was great at responding back to my emails quick and she made sure that we felt comfortable and confident with everything. The food was amazing and we had after hours pizza that everyone loved. Not only was the food great but the venue was beautiful with patio seating and we had lawn games that guests could play. They worked hard to truly make it a night to remember!

I chose this venue because I had tasted their food before and it was amazing. Not cheap, but we had a small-ish group at our wedding reception (115) and we wanted to treat them. I bought a bunch of beer under the impression that I would get the leftover beer (because I paid for it), but they told me after the wedding that their license doesn't allow them to give me the beer that wasn't drunk. That was very frustrating because it was a big waste of money. Other than that, though, the service was excellent, the facilities very nice, and the friendliness of the staff was great.

We looked at Watermark after my first venue cancelled on us and I am glad they did now. Watermark did a fantastic job. We received a discount for a March wedding. The food and wine were great. They had everything we needed and the room was plenty big. We had one contact to work with for the whole process she was easy to connect with and was even there for the reception. The whole process was easy and stress free and I heard nothing but great things from the guests. The staff was attentive without getting in the way and did a great job.

Having my reception at Watermark was absolutely the right choice! My wedding was early fall, so the colors were beautiful! We worked with Krystle and she was fantastic! We really enjoyed her! Our reception even made it on their website! The only tip I would give brides is to make sure that your costs are right. Check your bills! Be sure that you're being given the prices you were quoted. I know that staff is busy, so it's easy to miss little things. Best to just check it over yourself.

We married in an off season so there were some good deals out there. Watermark is beautiful, the food is delicious, and we got to book the day we wanted. However, things did not get set up in the time frame that was discussed and agreed upon causing last-minute setups and our first coordinator was not helpful/professional (she is no longer there). I would definitely choose them again!

Many little things wetn wrong with the service. They rushed our food out prior to the bridal party entrance. They served the wrong meal and after the fact would not work with us to make things right. They also cut the cake incorrectly and broke the cake topper. Overall food was good but service was not.

Wonderful on site consultants, excellent service staff, very helpful and knowledgable! Great with coordinating vendors and setup staff they go the extra mile to please! Food was excellent for our Rehearsal Dinner (family style), with Habachi S'Mores for dessert! Formal sit down Reception dinner with three different entree options was prompt and cooked to perfection. I was impressed by the friendliness, professionalism and integrity of all the staff at Watermark!

Watermark was very close to our ceremony site, so we selected it mainly for the purpose of convenience. HOWEVER, once the planning process got under way, Watermark was AMAZING! Faith helped in every step of the process, making sure that I was informed and happy about decisions. She worked with our budget as much as possible. The food is TO DIE FOR! The hall was beautiful! We got to use the golf course for pictures! I could go on and on about how thankful I am that I found Watermark!

Overall, Watermark was a good choice; however, our wedding planner always seemed to be in a hurry and have little time for us. The food (chicken and prime rib) turned out great.

Our rehearsal & dinner, ceremony, and reception was all held at Watermark Country Club. The food was to die for (after gaining the head chef from a disaster of a tasting dinner), the staff was phenomenal in their efforts and really cared about us, and the room looked beautiful, but a lot of that can be credited to our florist/linens. The one complaint we had about Watermark was their 'event coordinator', Faith. She claimed to be very caring and know what quality service was all about from the beginning, so we felt confident in our decision. Had we not been such over-planners and super-organized, things would have been a complete nightmare the day of. She was only there for 2 hours on the actual day, took our rehearsal as a joke, and things didn't go the way she had promised logistically with our guests. I do have to say that Emily, her assistant/banquet manager was to die for. She was literally running around all day for us and was there from 9am-11pm. She rocked our socks off. I would request her above anyone else.

We had our reception at Watermark Country Club in June 2011. It was such a great atmosphere with great food and great service. The location was very easy to find, and it wasn't very far from where the wedding ceremony took place. It is a very gorgeous facility. The staff and event planners were very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. After every meeting leading up to our event, we felt comfortable and at ease knowing that our reception would run smoothly. We were very impressed.

We had both our ceremony and reception at Sunnybrook. The staff was very nice and helpful and the room itself was beautiful. We also got several positive comments on the food.
