ination: From the first tour at Elizabeth Furnace, we knew we didn’t need to look at any other venues. We did have our coordinator change about halfway to 3/4 through our planning process, but our new coordinator Annie did a fantastic job. She seamlessly took over and made the process so simple. On our wedding day, she was there and handled everything - I am very Type A and like to do things myself, but I was able to relax and enjoy my day. Operations wise, the day was perfect and I owe it to Annie keeping things organized in the background. We had a few last minute changes to the menu (no fault to JDK, all me) and venue (ceremony moved to inside) which could have been very stressful, but the JDK team handled it professionally and swiftly. We had a golf cart driver, who was very helpful with our guests with small children and guests who could not walk far distances. We felt completely taken care of! Catering: JDK has a giant menu to select from and very flexible options. This allowed us to work within our budget and we ended up having the chance to do a served meal - something we wanted but weren’t sure was in our budget! We went to a tasting and enjoyed everything there. The chef got to speak on the menu, and you could tell he truly has a passion for what he does. It was difficult selecting our final menu, because it was all so good! The day of our wedding, we received SO many compliments on our selections. People especially loved the glazed doughnut bread pudding for dessert! The waitstaff were exceptional and really elevated the day. They were so kind, and our guests had a great time because of them. It was extremely hot, and the entire team took extra care in ensuring guests had enough water during the ceremony. Florals/decor: Brooke and her team went above and beyond in executing our vision! She was very knowledgeable and up to date on current wedding trends, which was very helpful as we made decisions and asked for recommendations. She did an exceptional job, paid attention to the details, and made our day so special. The wedding party saw the reception space prior to it being fully ready, and were amazed at the work Brooke and her team did to transform the space (we were told it was a “Disneyland” level transformation)! We had specific feedback that our reception space looked “expensive” (note: JDK pricing is reasonable and was within our budget), which is a true testament to the execution of the design and attention to detail the team brought, and to the style and work put into the event to make it magical. When we moved our ceremony inside, we had to make some last minute changes to our design, but JDK Group was flexible and made a new design plan that was even better than the original plan! What really drove things home for us was the teamwork between Annie, the floral and decor team, and the catering team. All 3 staff teams worked together amazingly, and it made the whole day flow perfectly. From the second we arrived to the last few boxes being packed back in the vans, everything was seamless for us and our guests. If I could go back and do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing!

ordinate the most amazing day of my life. Alyssa and the staff somehow pulled my vision directly from my brain. What really stood out though, I must say, I was truly grateful for and impressed with their staff. Not only were all of my needs met, but they were just as attentive to my baby 🐶 This was probably my biggest stress, because I always feel like no one actually takes care of her the way I do, and I don’t trust many people around her that I don’t know. But wow, the staff showered her in love, treats (girlfriend ate just as good as mom and dad did that day), and genuine care that the stress just rolled off of my shoulders. Now the food. Oh my the food. Every piece, from the hors d’oeuvres to the main meal, everything was perfectly cooked and just absolutely divine. I highly recommend the sliders, chicken & waffles, and chicken tacos. The chicken & waffles were a huge hit, with some of my more unique guests requesting them! The steak was cooked medium/medium-well which really impressed my guests. The balsamic chicken was by far my favorite, the balsamic and walnuts on the juicy chicken - i actually ate that day! JDK is able to tailor their menu to your budget, they also really care about you and want you to enjoy every second of your day.

It's no wonder they are the best caterer in the area. Our event specialist, Alyssa, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She not only listened attentively to our ideas but also provided invaluable guidance. Alyssa meticulously walked us through the timeline, layout, menu selection, and even the finer details like tablespace with linens, chargers, and napkins. This level of comprehensive support truly set JDK apart because many other caterers tend to focus solely on the menu. In addition to Alyssa, Chef Jay and Chef Josh worked closely with us to create custom menu items. Their dedication and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of our dining experience. The carving station was a standout hit at our wedding, leaving our guests raving about the delicious food! Our guests are still talking about the amazing food, the impeccable quality of service, and the overall exceptional experience of our special day. JDK played a pivotal role in making our wedding a memorable and delicious celebration. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to elevate their event to the next level. s saved us SO MUCH time and money. Everything we needed was handled by JDK - tables, chairs, linens, table settings, champagne glasses, ceremony chairs, you name it!! All we had to do was pick out what colors we wanted for everything. Abby was our coordinator and the whole planning process was very laid out and smooth, meetings every few months to progress to the next step, and communication in between those meetings was great! The day of was incredibly smooth from set up to tear down. I did my own centerpieces and had people making those the morning of, but they jumped right in helping place candles, and greenery, and decorating with any leftover flowers/decor. The venue looked AMAZING and just how I would have wanted it. At the end of the night, they had everything boxed up for us and ready to go. This was amazing for my family as most of them were going to stay after and clean up - most of it was already done and boxed up for them! My husband and I had a personal server assigned to us the entire day checking in to make sure we got appetizers and had drinks all night long if we wanted them. One of the workers even stepped in and asked if I needed help bustling my dress!! The venue also needs some credit. King Mansion in Harrisburg is absolutely gorgeous. It fulfilled every single dream I had for our wedding day. I got so many compliments on how gorgeous the mansion was!! It's a great option for summer weddings especially - we were able to have an outdoor ceremony but had air conditioning available for cocktail hour/reception. The rooms are gorgeous as you walk through and there is a very spacious separate bridal and grooms suites for everyone to hang out in the morning of! I can't forget about the GORGEOUS balconies that overlook the river. The food alone deserves its own review. Every single guest I talked to said it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding!! I know it was the best food (hor d'ourves especially) I also got so many compliments on how incredible the servers themselves were - I was shocked by how many people they had there helping out and running the event!! This company is second to none, and I fully recommend using them - you will be so thankful you did in the end!!!
