About this vendor
Welcome to Owl & Olive!
Located 45 minutes from Olympia, Owl & Olive is nestled in the Willapa Hills on the banks of the upper Chehalis River. The heart of Owl and Olive is our historic gambrel barn. Built in 1936, the barn provides a beautiful and unique setting to celebrate your special day with family and friends. The warmth of natural old growth cedar and fir planks and timbers surround you. The vaulted ceiling soars overhead nearly 40′ to the inside of the cupolas. Tasteful accent lighting illuminates the rafters while three rustic barn-sized chandeliers and complimentary bistro lights combine to provide a warm glow on the gathering space below during both daytime and evening activities.
The natural surroundings of Owl & Olive is equally as beautiful as the historic barn. The barn itself and our two primary outside ceremony sites are perched on the banks of the upper Chehalis River. The venue grounds are a combination of landscaped gardens, wide-open pasture, and wild woodlands. From almost any location, the view will remind you of how blessed we are to live in the pacific northwest.

This venue was absolutely beautiful! I never envisioned myself getting married in a barn, however, it couldn’t have been more perfect! The owners are super helpful, and answered every question and concern that I had. I highly recommend!
What can I say besides "exceptional"? My husband and I got married at the Owl and Olive venue on May 27th and Amy and Stephen were nothing short of amazing.
We paid for the two day rental package and had our rehearsal dinner there, catered by Owl and Olive themselves! The rehearsal dinner food was delicious, and they showed so much attention and care to our family and friends. They were easy to communicate with, and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had.
The day of the ceremony, Amy worked fantastically with my coordinator and it all went off without a hitch. The outdoor ceremony site is gorgeous and everything we dreamed of. Of course, the inside of the old barn where we had our reception is stunning. Their permanent string lighting creates a warm, welcoming feeling and we both felt "at home". There was little need for "decoration" besides some centerpieces and florals, because the grounds and barn are just that pretty.
The grounds were lovely, full of lush grass, shady trees, and flowers. It was well kept and tidy; no doubt a labor of love from the owners.
The venue's bridal suite also doubles as the honeymoon suite which they offer for the night of the ceremony. We took advantage of the convenient location and stayed the night, it was such a relaxing night (after a busy and hectic day!) listening to the sounds of the river.
Amy and Stephen did everything in their power to make sure our big day was as perfect as possible, and we can't thank them enough for it!
My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding at Owl & Olive! It is truly a beautiful venue with the riverfront, garden and barn. We had our wedding here in August 2022 with about 120 guests. There were a few unexpected changes with vendors (i.e. catering) several months prior to our wedding; however, Stephen and Amy were lovely to work with and it is clear they put a lot of love and effort into their venue. We would highly recommend Owl & Olive.
The barn was the perfect setting for an intimate and cozy wedding! And the getting ready suites provided a great amount of space for the bridal parties to get ready and both served as a wonderful resting place throughout the day.
The beautiful backdrop of the barn and surrounding nature was made better with the quick assistance we had from Amy throughout the day whenever we needed help with something.
It was the perfect day!
This venue is beautiful-- Better than is shown in the photos and you can get married on the river front! They had two get ready rooms, and were doing some renovations that sound amazing. I loved that they had a firepit outdoors, dahlia flowers, and gorgeous views. They had heat lamps for their patio, a stage and a ton of room in the barn for an indoor ceremony if needed, buffet and seating. They also had the bar option which is very convenient for a cocktail hour and came with the linens and dishes. We also loved that they had RV parking in the parking lot for guests to stay overnight. Oh - and great bathrooms. I'd highly recommend for a beautiful scenic wedding.
We had our daughters wedding here and it was the best experience we could have ever hoped for. The owners of the venue are great people, they helped with everything we asked for and we couldn't be more grateful. They helped make sure our daughter and son in laws day turned out perfect. With all the options they have here for a wedding I dont know how anywhere could be better!
Great venue! Beautiful place. Great owners! Very flexible and accommodating, and even in the midst of the chaos we've lived in lately. From the time we looked our day, to the time we actually had our event. It was about two and a half years later. Totally worth the wait.
Only 'complaint' is the seating, it is advertised as 175 people, but I really think more like 120 would be more comfortable. Pretty cozy in there!
My fiancé and I recently visited this venue and spoke with Stephen and the whole experience was nothing short of LOVELY. Something we really look for on top of loving the venue is who we are going to be working with to make the day just right. Stephen is so incredibly kind and open to talking about whatever you need to do as a team to make sure your day is PERFECT. Super communicative and gets back to you so quickly which relieves so much stress. The barn looks far better in person. It looks brand new and the bathrooms are newly constructed as well! Very nice paint job and you're right on the river which offers great scenery/a calming background noise. We didn't end up choosing this venue purely because we wanted something closer to us in the Bellevue area BUT this would have been it if we lived closer for sure.
I highly recommend this humble, warm venue that has so much to offer and truly the people make it 10 times better!
This venue is absolutely beautiful, especially if you're looking for a combination of rustic and outdoorsy for your wedding. The owners were great to work with and so kind and helpful, even the day before when we came to do some early setup. We only booked to be there for two hours but it took another 2 hours longer than we anticipated and they were completely fine with it and even participated in some of the setup. The barn is stunning and has plenty of space for a good sized wedding (we had between 110-120 people), and the ceremony spot by the river was gorgeous. There was some construction the week before so there was a big dirt pile in the front by the entrance, and even though I was slightly bummed about that it didn't take away from the beauty of the venue. They were kind enough to let us come back the next day to do the rest of the cleanup since there was too much to do the night of the wedding. I would definitely recommend this venue, especially with some of their upcoming renovations that are currently in process. Great experience!!
Our wedding was very beautiful! We brought a bunch of decorations, but, realistically, the barn itself is so beautiful very little were needed. We were really happy with the fact that there were both a bride and a groom suit on site. It was nice to be able to set up and then hang out all as a group rather than having the groomsmen leave after setup. My only complaint is that the wedding coordinator was not very good at relaying changes or things that were not going to be done before the wedding. We really liked some of the things that they told us would be available when we viewed that wedding that turned out not to be available, such as river access and hay bails for the ceremony. We were also a bit put off when the wedding coordinator tried to interrupt toast to figure out who's car was not parked in designated parking.... especially when no parking attendant as provided (as was promised during the viewing) to designate parking. Regardless we were still very happy with our wedding. We had a blast and everyone thought the venue itself was gorgeous.
If you're looking for a rustic, country venue for your wedding - look no further! We were so lucky and fortunate to have had our wedding at this location. My dream was to always have a "country" wedding and it did not fall short. The location is pretty remote, but still accessible for anything you find you need to rent out or be delivered (we had plenty)! The owners are super friendly, easy to work with and were very flexible and accommodating for us to make our dream come true. From hay bales, outdoors, for our ceremony (with the river running behind/along side us) to dancing and eating in the barn. If weather is not on your side, the barn can definitely accommodate to have both ceremony and reception indoors! Surrounded by beautiful scenery for those perfect wedding photos. We highly recommend you stop looking and start planning your special day as we could not have asked for a better one ourselves!
