This venue surpassed our expectations. It was so easy to work with dawn. She was able to recommend so many great vendors being that we didn’t live locally. We were able to decorate the venue as we wished and have the wedding that we both desired.
At night the reception room right on the water looked absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend.
We couldn't be happier with this venue choice! I grew up on Lake Wequaquet... so this was an obvious pick for us. It was the first and only venue we looked at. The travel time from my parents house to the venue was all of 3 minutes, so made things very convenient for travel the day of - we rented a limo but only for after the event. We drove a few cars there and they allowed us to leave them overnight (promoting safe driving! I like it!).
I booked this venue over 2 years ago, and Dawn the venue coordinator was super helpful with all of my questions during the planning. She was very responsive and always helpful with questions. We also were able to pop in a few times during planning to measure furniture for linens, take pics etc. - this was so convenient!
The thing I liked most about the venue was how customizable it was. No forced vendor contracts - we could hire anyone we wanted! It might be more work that way, but the outcome was well worth it. We got to hand pick every vendor, from florist to caterer, DJ, Equipment & Linen rental, Baker, photographer & videographer etc. The club provided a bartender (and a second one for a total charge of $75). I've heard nothing but good things from guests regarding the bartender service.
My favorite part of this venue was that we had the space the entire day before for setup. So for our Saturday wedding we got in Friday morning and were able to set all the tables, put out all of the linens etc. We paid an extra fee ($250) for all clean-up/packing of decorations after the event. Dawn did this herself and did a great job. So nice to not have to worry about these tasks the morning and night of the wedding.
Price wise, the rental fee was very fair. Under 2k for 7 hours of use! We had our ceremony at the beach next door (this is owned by the neighborhood beach association - separate from the venue). If you plan to do the same you'll have to get approval from the association. Scott Mullen who is on the board was very helpful with this process.
Overall, we are just incredibly happy with the entire day. The venue was exactly what we wanted and we kept getting compliments about the location. The backdrop is unbeatable too!
We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club and couldn’t believe how perfect it was! We had a caterer pull up to the outside for a wonderful night of friends and family! Dawn at the Yacht Club was an accommodating manager who helped us with all the little details and questions prior to the event- including the morning of when we arrived! We were able to decorate the morning of the rehearsal dinner and then arrived back to have a fun evening prior to our wedding day. Scott the bartender was extremely talented and was great to the guests! The view of the lake is absolutely stunning, and even the native Cape Codders who came had never been to this hidden jewel of a place! For anyone looking for a venue for any wedding event, I would definitely recommend the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club!
We searched low and high for an affordable wedding venue on the Cape and couldn't have been happier with the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club. Working with Dawn, the event coordinator was such a wonderful experience. The WLYC sits right on Wequaquet Lake, making it a dreamy backdrop for all of our pictures. Every single person we interacted with (especially Dawn) at WLYC was genuinely kind and helpful throughout the entire process, we never felt like we were just another wedding. We were able to bring in our own catering and use their kitchen. Part of their contract is to use their bar and bartenders (who were amazing, our guests raved about them!), fortunately their alcohol was very reasonably priced. The whole dining room faces the lake and large windows run the length of the room, there was plenty of space for all of our (17) tables and still room for dancing! They done a number of renovations over the past few years, giving the dining and entry rooms a beautiful facelift (and a higher ceiling) without losing any of the Cape yacht club charm. This venue is amazing whether or not you're planning your event on a budget (but especially if you are). Check it out, talk to Dawn, you will not regret it!
When we started looking for a venue we were overwhelmed by the outrageous pricing. As we worked on our budget and other planning aspects, we decided the only way we were going to be able to afford anything was to find somewhere that would allow outside catering. My MIL found this spot and when I looked at the website, I fell in love with it. I loved the wall of windows that overlook the lake which gave us the beach front wedding I had dreamed of that fit in the budget. We didn't have to rent tables or chairs, were allowed to use our friends and family to do the cooking and they have a cash bar which solved that problem for us too!
