Werner's Catering

Werner's provided the catering and bar service for my wedding, and they completely ruined what should have been the best night of my life. For your sake, do NOT use Werner's catering, for any reason. They broke multiple terms of the contract, were extremely rude and unprofessional, and upset both my mother and I by their refusal to solve any of the problems. I have attempted to contact them repeatedly since the wedding (to get a refund), and there has been NO response. They are lazy, cheap, and cowards. I could give you a laundry list of complaints, but for your sake, just avoid using them at all costs! If it is any indication of how terrible they are, my venue in Austin has banned them from ever returning. Werner's Catering is absolutely terrible!!

Because of my recent experience with Werner's Catering, I would STRONGLY caution others from relying on Werner's Catering for future events. I recently got married on June 14, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. I can confidently say that my family and I were very pleased with Werner's up until the day of my wedding. We had a great tasting where all of our questions were answered. We had no problem through the booking process. Unfortunately, our positive regard for Werner's ended when they were ONE HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATE to my reception venue. They were scheduled to arrive at 3:30 PM. We had lemonade service scheduled for 4:30, the time that the guests would leave the ceremony and visit before entering the reception hall. They did not arrive until 4:45!!! Of course, this threw off the entire schedule for the rest of the evening because they were not ready to serve the food at our scheduled time. Many of our guests left before the reception because of the long delay. To make matters worse, I was told by my wedding party who watched the caterers arrive that there was no sense of urgency in order to get people served as fast as possible. I had several of my wedding party members say that they noticed several of the servers standing around and goofing off. That is completely 100% unacceptable. Since the wedding, my family has called Werner's several times and left a message about wanting to talk to someone about our experience. We have never received a call back. Avoidance of the issue proves a complete lack of professionalism. As a consumer, I understand that things happen. Traffic happens, mistakes happen, delays happen. However, whenever things happen, I at least expect communication about these errors or delays. No one received a phone call about them arriving late. There was no apology for arriving late once they got there, and there is now a complete avoidance that there was a problem with the service we received. I was always taught that when you make a mistake, you should do two things...apologize and do your best to make things right. Neither has happened. I do not believe it is wrong to expect that the service for which you paid thousands of dollars apologizes for their mistake. I will say that the food was delicious, and we are very thankful for that. Our guests were very pleased. However, we are extremely disappointed with our Werner's Catering experience, and I am unable to recommend Werner's Catering to anyone reading this review due to their lack of professionalism and tardiness.

Everyone absolutely loved the food Werner's served at our wedding. We had the beef/chicken, greens beans, beans, mac and cheese, and added on the potato bar (which everyone raved about...), and ice cream bar during dessert. We loved the buffet-style service, and there was PLENTY of food for everyone and some. Werner's was very professional to work with and we liked that this is a family-owned company. Very affordable, quality service overall. Will recommend to anyone looking for a caterer.

It was a joy to work with Werner's every step of the way. We originally had another caterer in mind, and contacted Werner's just for appetizers. When we went in for a tasting, however, we immediately changed our mind. Not only was the food better, but they did real dishes and family style for cheaper than our previous choice! EVERYONE raved about the food, and is still raving a month later! They were great with my food allergies and even prepped some vegan meals on short notice for a few of my guests. Everyone I spoke to and worked with was so sweet, and the servers day of were amazing. Wonderful food, great price, and a pleasure to work with. NOTE: They have a San Marcos location, and my wedding was in Georgetown, so don't think you are too far away from Shiner to give them a shot!

I was very shocked by this catering company. Not only did they serve late, they also served cold food because they didn't bring the heating elements to keep the food hot. So everything was cold. And they didn't put the silverware on the tables as they were contracted to do nor did they cut the cake as they were paid to do. I was very unhappy with what I got for the amount of money spent.

Excellent food, they bussed the tables and kept everything nice and neat! Wonderful people to work with, and everyone complimented the food!

Werner's catered my daughter's wedding this past weekend for 400 guests. They provided the food, bar service, and cleaning. BUT what they really provided was amazing service, fantastic food, and very professional service. They were truly amazing. All the guests raved. On a scale of 1 to 10, they are a solid 10.

So we went a little different on our food choices then some of the other wedding we have been to. We decided to have fried chicken and pork tender loin with salad, green beans, and mashed potatos. All I can say is that I cleaned my plate and I never thought I would taste green beans better then the ones my mother makes. They make great food at a great price everyone sould have them at their wedding

The guests could not stopping complementing the caterers! All of the food was delicious and filling (that is; the portions were normal size not gourmet sized). It was difficult to choose from their menu because all of their food was so delicious. The price was reasonable and their customer service was spot on

Pros: We did a BBQ buffet and this was awesome food! I had several guests tell me this was some of the best BBQ they had ever eaten (and as Texans, we eat a lot of BBQ). We were very pleased with their professional service and setup. The food was fantastic. Cons: Communication. The one thing that was frustrating was getting a hold of someone. I called and sent e-mails on several occasions and had to send more e-mails or calls to get a response about my questions, Nicole was nice to talk to when I did.

When we went to the tasting the food was great good, but on the day of the wedding it was cold and the meat was dry. I DO NOT recommend Werner's!!!

Werner's Catering was fabulous! On my way to our wedding, we had a delay for the start of the wedding, and Werner's was so kind, they said they would "stay all night if we needed them to". The food was awesome. We had carved roasted pork loin with mushroom sauce, and a raspberry chipotle sauce, au gratin potatoes (yum) and seasoned green beans. The only thing I didn't like were the rolls. The reminded me of Bill Millers.

Our wedding really got 3 main comments. 1. the View was amazing, 2. The wind was terrible, and 3. The food was fantastic. We had Chicken with Rosemary sauce, Grilled Asparagus (grilled on the rooftop), Corn Casserole, and a mashed potato Bar. We paid under $10/head and it was amazing! I would TOTALLY use them again...and TOTALLY recommend them to EVERYONE!!!

Mr. Werner will do anything to make your wedding day perfect. He helped us stay within our budget and get an excellent meal. Our guests are still talking about it! This is a 5 star catering company for sure.

My wedding planner's caterer cancelled two days before my wedding due to a family emergency so I called Werner's Catering. They catered my wedding with short notice, it was reasonable in cost, and it was perfect service! My friends and family loved the food! There was more food than we could finish and the kids ate what was served without any problem. We had roast beef, macarroni, mashed potatoes, a roll and ceasar salad. The roast beef and ceasar salad were prepared in front of our guests. Nicole the coordinator was polite, ready to serve, reliable and organized! Thanks Werner's for being there when we needed it the most!!!!

the owner was great, he knew what we were looking for and the food so good. and every one loved the food and said how nice their servers were.
