Three weeks later I received a proposal (only after I reached out to inquire about the status) that was double my initial budget. When I asked what we could do to shave down some expenses, I never received a response. I ended up with Beth Amazing Petals Florist in Lake Orion and could not have been happier.

a ton on flowers and Jeanie worked with me to find cheaper, yet beautiful, alternatives! I also went into our meeting not knowing a lot about different flowers and she is extremely knowledgeable and even got up to show me what certain kinds looked like. Jeanie can be a little difficult to get a hold of but I’d definitely use Westborn again!

We received so many compliments from guests and the bridal party about their flowers, as the roses were so gorgeous as well as all of the added greenery. I imagined. Our groom and groomsmen had succulent boutonnieres that were top notch. She truly made the day beautiful at a reasonable price! Look no further than Westborn for all your wedding needs!

band (then fiance) to get me flowers, so I knew they were a solid option beforehand, but am even more confident now. A little background for my wedding: 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen, the usual mother/father/grandparents/pianist/pastor, 210 guests, 26 guest tables and 2 centerpieces. I had the flowers delivered and picked up at the end of the night, and also rented some pillar stands and some of the glasses for the centerpieces. I had mostly hydrangeas and assorted greens (seeded eucalyptus, dusty miller, etc.) with some roses and peonies the bouquets. We did three centerpieces (one short floral, one tall floral, and a trio of pillars with flowers/water/floating candles. I knew flowers for a wedding of that size wouldn't be cheap, and I shopped around before ultimately going with Westborn. Our total was around $5000 for everything. While that seems like a lot, it was wayyyy less than my quote from a popular florist in Ferndale that included fewer flowers (ie: more floating candles, etc.) that was around $7500. Jeanie was at my wedding to set up and everything went perfectly as planned. I wish I could add a picture of the flowers since they were gorgeous! I only took a star off because it was a little hard to get in touch with Jeanie- emails weren't always responded to and she was sometimes hard to catch in the store (busy with consults, etc.). Luckily, I live nearby and shop at Westborn often, so it was not a problem to stop in to work together in person and I didn't mind doing it at all. Jeanie was incredibly knowledgable, creative, friendly, and conscious of price/availability, etc. I would highly recommend Westborn, but just know that you'll want to build in extra time for planning meetings and communications since Jeanie is really busy with other orders and the retail side of the store, too.

the types of flowers I loved would be included and to tell me which would be unavailable and which would be available but extremely expensive during the month of our wedding. She brought together samples of flowers that would still be available months later for my wedding to give me an idea of the color scheme. She was also very thoughtful about bouquet size relative to the bride's body size and allergy issues that could arise from certain flower species that produce a lot of pollen. We attended several other flower consultations, and Jeannie was the most knowledgable and creative floral designer. I also felt she has the best taste and is the most artistic. Not going to lie, the flowers were more expensive than at much of the other places, but the quality really showed in our pictures. I'm glad we splurged a little on the flowers. I ordered a bridal and toss bouquet, five bridesmaids' bouquets, ten boutonnières, three corsages, and a fake flower ball for the one-year-old flower girl to bash around.

Jeannie keeps banker's hours- this makes it difficult to schedule a consultation when you work full time. She also was not responsive to email- you have to call Westborn and try to get ahold of her. She did give me her personal cell number, which helped. The contract allows her to make substitutions as needed, but I didn't realize that half my choices would be substituted. For example, I ordered blush peonies but ended up with bright pink. I ordered seeded eucalyptus that didn't make it in at all, and somehow I ended up with yellow roses in my altarpieces that I didn't order. All of this could be easily forgiven if not for the last issues: some of the flowers (including the blue delphinium showpiece of my arrangements and bouquets) were a little old- it looked as if things had been put together a few days in advance with some of the flowers on their last legs. The last and worst is that they didn't deliver my flowers to the bakery as promised. When my day-of coordinator went to pick up my other flowers on the wedding day, the cake flowers were still at Westborn. When she asked about it, she was told they were "too busy" to deliver them. That is the worst excuse I have ever heard for breach of contract and absolutely unacceptable. All things considered, it seems like Westborn takes on more work than its staff can handle. The condition of some of the flowers, the fact that half my flowers were substituted, and them blowing off a delivery that they promised makes me feel that my small wedding was an unimportant afterthought to them. I spent over $1000 for 2 altarpieces, 1 bridal bouquet, 1 bridesmaid bouquet, 2 wrist corsages and 6 boutonnières- not a huge order, but expensive when you consider the price per piece. I could have gotten many of the same flowers at Sam's or Costco for a fraction of the price- what I was paying for with Westborn was service, and they unfortunately fell short on that.

centerpieces as I worried about cost but I was able to get my bouquet and nine table settings for $500. That's a true deal! Also, these flowers were absolutely gorgeous. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and my centerpieces included a gray berry that's a little different (forgive me I forget the name). They incorporated this interesting piece beautifully. Everyone commented on the the beauty of the flowers, from guests to the venue staff! This was by far the best case scenario for me as a bride.

As the bride and the main event planner, I never had to worry about anything falling through the cracks with Westborn Floral! When I went to an overview appointment a week before they had an example of our small centerpieces. I was able to make adjustments to it and the other pieces before the final bouquet. I'm SO glad they had an example so I could make those changes. And the changes they made were perfect. A few days before the wedding they sent me a picture of an actual centerpiece and I love it. Our flower arrangements were exactly what I wanted them to look like and they were so full! Everyone was talking about the flowers during the reception and I could not have been happier. I wanted flowers people would talk about and I got them!

the less, we anxiously awaited our proposal from them. We were told a couple days after our meeting we'd be emailed the cost information. We NEVER received the proposal. We decided not to contact them and ask for it because we didn't think that they were reliable enough for us to feel comfortable with them following through for our wedding.

They did a beautiful job on the bouquets, boutineers, centerpieces and church flowers. Everything was perfect and so much less expensive than I ever thought possible. A few weeks before my wedding I had a hiccup regarding who would be able to set up the decorations for the reception and Westborn Market came to my rescue. They were fantastic and did so much extra work for only $50.00 more. I cannot recommend them enough!!

A few days before the wedding, she texted me pictures do what the finished bouquets and centerpieces looked like, and I loved that. We received is many compliments on our flowers at our wedding, and the flowers really helped make our wedding beautiful. They were fresh, gorgeous, and beautifully arranged. Nicole made us feel comfortable right from the start. She made sure that we were comfortable, having fun, and truly happy with our designs. Their pricing was by far the most fare that I had been quoted during our wedding process. There weren't any hidden extra fees, any early delivery fees, etc. Westborn is truly straight forward in their pricing. I will vouch for Westborn their pricing may be more fare but this does not mean that it lacks quality. The quality of their floral is amazing. They don't use anything but the most fresh cut flowers. Just have a look around the store in the floral cases for every day sale. If the flowers look that good for every day sale, imagine the special order wedding flowers! Mine were gorgeous. Did I mention I was an out of town Bride? I live in Grand Rapids,MI but my family is from the east side of Michigan. I knew I needed to pick a place that I felt comfortable with that would help me with my vision but not require me to take a lot of trips to execute our ideas. Nicole was extremly responsive to any emails we sent with pictures, ideas, questions, and concerns. Nicole helped us to build the wedding floral that we had dreamed of but couldn't quite capture on my own. She was willing to switch the floral ideas around as much as we needed. A few weeks before the wedding we did a run through and she had a wonderful centerpiece set up for us as it would appear on our wedding day (which we drove in to see). It was so nice to see it in person a few weeks before the wedding and have a chance to make adjustments (none were needed). The best suprise was that we were able to take it home with us! Our heads were filled with dreams of our guests all sitting around tables filled with the wonderful centerpieces on our drive home. The week of the wedding the floral arrangements were started a few days before the wedding. As the boquests and centerpieces were made I was sent pictures with another chance to make any changes I might want to make. It was so relieving to be able to see the floral before the wedding and feel confident that the floral would be perfect! There are tons of things for a bride to be worried about before her wedding, it was so nice to have the floral not to be one of them! I knew that I had nothing to worry about when it came to the delivery and setup of the floral arrangements. Nicole truly treated our wedding as if it were her own in the months leading up to the wedding and the actual day of the wedding. All the floral was beautiful and we got so many compliments! I think Westborn Market on Woodward is the best kept secret in town! I would highly recommend at least a consultation with Nicole before you make any final decisions on floral!

dding (it was a fall wedding), how to save on costs, etc. Richard was absolutely AMAZING to work with because he asked a few questions as to what we thought we would like and what we have drawn inspiration from, and within 5min of sitting down with him, he already had gorgeous ideas for the bouquets, boutonnieres, center pieces, and how to save us money without skimping on the detail. He was even able to show us a basic arrangement with what they had on hand and was willing to do a free demo centerpiece! I didn't have to ask for that--he suggested it because he wanted to be certain we would be happy with it. And let me tell you we couldn't have been happier when we saw the piece! Coming into that situation without a clue as to what I wanted, Richard was able to magically know EXACTLY what I wanted before I did! The man knows his stuff, clearly loves what he does, and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

choose and gave us tips when it came down to what we could do to keep the price within our budget (and still get quality flowers!). We received tons of compliments on ALL of our flowers. I was OBSESSED with my bouquet. It turned out EXACTLY like the picture I gave to them. I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was. For my wedding, we had a succulent theme. I was originally going to have succulents in each bouquet, but decided just to have them in my bouquet to keep costs down. However, a few days before the wedding, Nicole (from Westborn) told me she knew how much I loved the succulents and wanted to let me know she was going to add some to the bridesmaids bouquets :) They turned out amazing. Also, I found a picture on pinterest of a wedding cake with succulents and willow wrapped around it, and I showed it to them to see if they could do it. They were able to coordinate with my bakery and the cake turned out just like the picture once again! I highly recommend them!

As a gift, a guest from each table was given the centerpiece to take home and the florals lasted for several weeks. Such great attention to detail and the florals used were so beautiful!

I also didn't like the idea of regular ribbon and brought in burlap and twine for the bridesmaids bouquets- they looked awesome! Richard really works with your vision and helps you achieve it in a cost effective manner. Great experience and loved the outcome.
