Westin Portland Harborview Hotel

o the cocktail portion. The meals were served very fast which impressed me. The ballroom needs some love so if you are to splurge I would on flowers, centerpieces, and a band. The hotel services/check in needed more help I think. A few guests had to wait for their room at 4PM when check in was at 3PM. Reservations were difficult to find etc. I think this hotel is getting busier and busier by the day and this would be solved with more staff. Staff is super sweet and overall really easy to work with. I would definitely recommend and logistics wise my guests loved the convenience of the venue.

professional, efficient, and precise. Each and every employee was friendly and ready to help with every and all of our needs the entire weekend we stayed. We started off wedding planning with our initial coordinator, Anna who soon went on maternity leave and we learned Paige would take over. The transition was seamless and we are so happy with Paige's assistance throughout the process. Any kind of change when your in the midst of wedding planning is scary, but Paige exceeded all of our expectations. If we did it all again we wouldn't change anything. There were many little things the Westin and Paige surprised us with that made us feel special and we are eternally grateful. We plan on returning to the Westin in the future just for fun!

She was such an important part of our big day. The reception was amazing and stunning! The guests loved their rooms and the location in the city. I would suggest it to any bride looking to have the perfect wedding.

She even fit us in for a food tasting last minute and we had such a good time with her. The Hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff are amazing. My wife liked her because she was on pinterest and took time to understand what she wanted to have in the wedding and then executed that to perfection. She had a lot of timelines and documents to help us make decisions and make sure that we got to choose a lot of the details of the reception. 2) The rest of the staff at the hotel was outstanding. We received a lot of compliments from guests who had to contact the hotel for one reason or another and received great service (one person stayed on the phone for 20 minutes directing a guest in). Its great to know that you don't have to worry about all of the small things because the hotel will handle it. 3) The food was outstanding. I am used to eating at very nice places and the food at the Westin did not disappoint. We got the filet and it was delicious. 4) The hotel and ballroom are not a cookie cutter location, the ballroom has been there for around 100 years and you can tell in some of the little details they have kept. My wife was nervous of getting married in just another hotel ballroom, but the Westin really isn't, its a great place to get married. 5) The hotel is great. Its a great location and close to a lot of good restaurants and fun places to go. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are top notch. It is really difficult to find anything wrong with this hotel, but without a doubt the best part was Anna and her ability to handle anything that came up.

They helped bring our vision to life by making valuable recommendations on vendors in the area and helping guide us throughout the whole process. The attention to detail and follow up was top notch and not just on the day of the wedding and the brunch, but in all the months leading up to it. They made accommodations for every request and were always prompt with responses on our asks. If we could do it all over again our choice would be easy, it would be the Westin Harborview. The ballroom was a vision the day of the wedding and the event team was extremely attentive to us and our VIPs. I can't say enough good things about working with Anna, Morgan, Peter, and team. I also highly recommend holding Brunch at the top of the East if you can, it was so worth the views of the city the next day, especially for out of town guests. :-)

Shannon (event coordinator) was a true pleasure to work with. Her demeanor was calming and uplifting which in the midst of a lot of stress is a quality that certainly goes a long way. There were some last minute hiccups that she stepped in and helped out with and as a Bride, that is something to truly be grateful for on your wedding day. Larry, was the gentlemen that took special care of the wedding party during the event. He was a pleasure to have and went far above and beyond. The ballroom was more than we could have ever dreamed of and will be forever etched in my mind as perfection. We choose black and white as our colors and it was so elegant and complimented the lighting and room decor. Everyone that attended was complimentary of the venue and service as well as the entire experience. There are not many times where you go to a large event where everyone enjoys the food, but I can say that all of our guests certainly did here...especially the assorted desserts! We planned the Wedding living in Florida so before the event, there was countless emails that were answered timely and they even squeezed in a last minute food tasting for us. The updated decor in the hotel is stunning and made for great photos. We truly enjoyed the service, location and entire wedding. Thank you Westin!

We were very impressed that the Westin was going to bring the ballroom back to what it looked like when the hotel was first built in 1927. After the bridal show, we didn’t wait long to have a meeting and book the ballroom. We were so excited that our daughter and her fiancé wanted to have their reception at the Westin because of sentimental reasons. We attended Mother’s Day Brunch in the ballroom when our children were young. As we were leaving, my husband was so impressed with the room and the staircase, that he made the comment that it would be a wonderful place for our daughter to have her wedding reception. Over the next eighteen months, the staff that we dealt with delivered on all promises made to us. The wedding specialist was very well organized, creative, always responsive, and made sure that every detail was taken care of. PLUSES: The Ballroom – It was elegant! With the numerous round chandeliers and the white chairs with silver tablecloths that the bridal couple chose, the room had a magical atmosphere. Food – The food was absolutely delicious. The passed hors d’ouevres were plentiful during the cocktail party, and the portions were plenty at dinner. All special requests were accommodated (especially the well done steak for the father of the bride). Food service – It was impeccable. All of our guests raved at how well they were attended to during dinner. Our waitress even tracked us down while we were upstairs on the balcony (having fun in the photo booth) to let us know that our dinners would be served in 5 minutes. Wine service – We opted to have wine served during dinner. The servers made sure that all glasses were always filled. Bar service – We had open bar service, and there were plenty of bar tenders. I never saw much of a line all evening. Bridal room – It was large and well stocked with food and drinks for the bride, groom, and their bridal party. Rest rooms – There are over 10 private stalls in the women’s room so no one was ever waiting and missing any of the fun. Dance floor – The 20’ x 20’ dance floor was adequate for our 150 guests, and we had it packed all night! MINUSES: The night passed too quickly! Our daughter’s wedding reception at the Westin Portland Harborview was everything that my husband imagined twenty years ago and more!

the reception very elegant. The setup for the cocktail hour and ballroom lent itself for a very classy reception and effortless transition from cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. Our guests loved going to the Top of the East (the rooftop bar) and, since almost all of the guests came from out of town, the location of the Westin was perfect - it's not right in the middle of hundreds of tourists, but close enough for everyone to easily walk around the Old Port. The food at both the cocktail hour and dinner was also great - we were given a lot of choices from the hotel, and I actually had guests tell me it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. I cannot say enough about the people and the service at the hotel. The staff was completely dedicated to making sure we were happy and that everything went smoothly - I can't believe how easy it was. The Wedding Coordinator at the Westin worked with us during the months leading up to the wedding to help us plan out the reception, and she was fantastic. She coordinated with all of our vendors, proactively reached out to us to iron out all of the details, and also stayed for the event to make sure everything went perfectly. This was especially key since we were planning our wedding from far away. I highly recommend this venue!
