Weston Gardens is a stunning wedding venue and lived up to our hopes for our big day. It's beautiful during the day but truly magical in the evening with all of the trees and lights. It's whimsy and charming, from the ship to the garden's history and a great option for any couple who is looking for something unique and fun.
The planning meetings were helpful in keeping me on track during the planning process, and Sue and Isabel were helpful, very responsive, and flexible. The venue team went above and beyond on our wedding day, even jumping in to help my mom assemble our diy charcuterie board for our cocktail hour. We used many of their recommended vendors (Brant Smith, Bright Eyed Blooms, Wave Source Media, and Music by Tiara) and were so happy with how everything turned out!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Weston Gardens. It is so beautiful and the staff is absolutely amazing!!!!
Cannot recommend this place enough. Everything is spectacular!!! Isabel is the BEST coordinator of all time holy cow she made the whole day insanely easy. There is so so so so much included with this place, tables, chairs, no clean up beyond removing what you plan on keeping. The facilities are so beautiful we barely had any decorations at all. If you want a magical outdoor wedding that makes you feel like a Fae in a forest this is for you!!!!
To Sue and her FANTASTIC staff at Weston Gardens, Stephen and I would just like to take a moment to thank you for everything that you did to ensure that our punk rock wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more! Weddings are inherently chaotic, but your venue coordinator, Isabel, is an absolute saint and she made us feel completely at ease from the moment we first met her. Her thoughts, suggestions, and emotional support proved invaluable to us and we feel so blessed to have had her to lean on. The venue itself could not be more beautiful at any time of year and can match almost any wedding vibe/theme/aesthetic; classy, black & white, bohemian, gothic, any everything in between! Rain or shine your wedding will go off without a hitch because the WG team is also fully prepared with tents for your event!
Overall, our experience of hosting our wedding at Weston Gardens was flawless and full of memories that we will look back on fondly for the rest of our lives together!
Honestly pretty disappointing.
Pro: Lovely venue with lots of well kept gardens
Con: No restrooms for guests, the guests will literally have to go into the bridal's sweet. There is no excuse for this venue not to invest in a simple restroom building.
Con: The groom's suite is essentially un airconditioned, out of the way, and you have to have everything moved out before the wedding starts.
Con: The "day of coordinators" that come with the wedding package won't do most things that coordinators do, like wrangle families for photos
Con: The bartender did the heaviest wine poors, all our bottles were gone after 15 minutes. They just wanted big tips and didn't care about making it last.
Weston Gardens was great to work with. They provide a day-of wedding coordinator who was very professional and prompt with responses. They also bent over backwards to accommodate any special requests that we had. The unlimited amount of planning meetings made sure that we were prepared way in advance. It happened to rain on my wedding day in the middle of the reception and their team did a great job of executing my plan B (moving food, seating and entertainment under a tented area). I took off one star only because some of their provided furniture/decor of the garden is a bit old and outdated. I would have liked more customizable options. Long story short, they had everything covered which made for a stress free day! Its also important to mention that the gardens are absolutely stunning. Pictures don't do it justice and I suggest going to see them in person before making a decision.
I went back and forth on this review. I wrote it, and rewrote it, trying to decide what to say to you possible brides out there considering this stunning venue. I'm giving it a 4, although in my heart I feel that the venue itself deserves a 10! I will start by saying that my wedding was STUNNINGLY beautiful. I got comment after comment after comment from my guests on how beautiful my choice of venue was. How different, unique, and totally 100% how much it was "us." And it was. It will always be a special place. The feeling you get standing in the outdoor garden gives you an amazing opportunity to relish in God's gorgeous creations. I am grateful for this venue!
However... understand that with this venue, there is bad that comes with the good. I worked mostly with Nadine, who I absolutely adored. She was so incredibly accommodating to my husband and I throughout the course of our planning, and unfortunately she left Weston Gardens right before my wedding. However, I also worked with Sue. Sue is the owner of Weston Gardens. At first (before we booked) Sue gave us lots of promises and ideas about things. She seemed extremely into everything that we wanted and seemed great with allowing us to do everything we envisioned. However, once we booked and began making payments (a LOT of money, might I add) we began to realize that Sue wasn't quite as accommodating as we thought. Things began to unravel slowly and we were soon having things that were important to us taken away. In the beginning of planning, my husband and I settled on a champagne toast only (no bar) through our caterer. It was in writing from the get-go in Nadine's notes that Sue had approved. We'd already ordered everything through our caterer and about two months out from the wedding, Sue tried to tell us she never approved it and that it wasn't allowed because of bad experiences with other brides she'd had in terms of alcohol. We ultimately decided it was not worth the fight and gave up arguing.
In meetings, Sue would gossip about other clients to us angrily. As an event planner myself, I deem this extremely unprofessional and unfair. When a client is paying as much as a Weston Garden's bride pays for this venue - they should be treated with respect and courtesy.
I also want to add that DURING my wedding reception Sue came up to me and told me that my mom was ready to start dinner thirty minutes before we'd had planned on the timeline. I found out later she'd told my mom that I was ready to start dinner early too. Neither my mom or I said this at any point during the reception. I don't think that pitting a tight knit mother/daughter against each other is a nice way to get things done.
One other complaint I would have is that there isn't enough time! Weston Gardens books multiple events in one day. They wouldn't let me on property until 1:00 pm and my wedding was at 6:00 pm. Four hours for a ceremony and reception isn't long enough, in my opinion. We wound up cutting our bouquet/garter toss. I wish we would have had until 11:00 pm.
Ultimately - I would not take back my wedding venue choice because my day was absolutely wonderful and I got to marry the love of my life in what I felt like was my "secret garden." This venue speaks for itself and it makes me sad that the staff is sub-par at best in my opinion as an events professional. If my day was perfect it was due only to my friends and family's planning and sticking up for me consistently as the bride.
Sue and Nadine were tremendously accommodating, working with our schedule and helping us make our ideas become realities. They were realistic and straightforward which helped us make better decisions with the venue. The venue itself was absolutely magical, there's no other way to say it. We first visited the garden in dec/jan so it wasn't as luscious but we could already see the potential. We were immediately shocked at how large the garden was overall. There were several areas which were like rooms in a house each with it's own personality. It felt so cozy and welcoming. The venue is all outdoors so you'd have to be prepared for nature happening with bugs, weather, some uneven ground but they prepared for all of that. They do have tents just in case which was included so it was nice not having to worry about that. There can be a lot of mosquitoes but they spread cedar all over the garden the day before our reception which was in September and we had no issues with mosquitoes.Tables, chairs, linens, and a DJ was included. They only have 1 bathroom and if you require more, you'd have to rent them. The bridal suite and groom's suite are so unique and are sure to provide a perfect background for your pictures. We had issues with the speakers which affected the flow of the event for a bit but the DJ was able to adapt and make it work the best he could. Overall I loved the gardens, it fit me and my husbands personalities and working with Sue and Nadine was great!
All of my guests could not get over how beautiful Weston Gardens was! We had an April wedding and everything was in bloom. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Nadine helped me call my vendors before the big day to make sure everything was ready to go. On the day of, they made everything run as smoothly as possible. I will recommend them to anyone getting married in the Ft. Worth area!
When envisioning my wedding, I wanted it to be outdoors and in a garden. I wanted the beauty like in "The Secret Garden." We looked a few places and nothing fit. When we visited Weston Gardens and after walking around the various parts of it, over and over I kept trying to find the words to express how I felt, and couldn't..mainly because it was perfect and exactly what I wanted. It was beautiful and quaint and just perfect. The staff at the Gardens were so helpful in planning and making sure our day was everything I dreamed it would be. Everyone who attended the wedding have told me over and over that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. I loved that they allowed me to use my own choice of caterer, as long as they had a certificate of liability as well as my other vendors. Other places we looked they were more strict with vendors.
The things we had to work around in planning included: the barn was the only bathroom for guests and with air conditioning. Because that is the only place with air conditioning, keep that in mind when determining your choice of food, time of year, etc. I am thankful my wedding was in the fall so we had cooler weather. The ship where guys get ready is also air conditioned. The lighting at night isn't amazing, but it worked for the reception, tho was a little challenging for clean up. Besides that everything else worked for our needs and the gardens were very the perfect fit for our wedding. On a side note, my husband proposed to me there :)
For an outdoor wedding, you cannot find a place better than Weston Gardens. The gardens are stunning and their wedding coordinator, Lori Oden, was absolutely the best! She helped every step of the way and the day of the wedding she was simply magic - everywhere at once, making sure every detail was perfect. She and Mrs. Weston made our day (and all the days leading up to it) just amazing. Tables & linens are included as well as use of the entire garden.
I don't remember how I found the Weston Gardens; they were the result of hours of internet searches and phone calls. They are hidden in the middle of nowhere, south of I-20/820, and are run by the Weston Gardens Nursery across the street. Lori was with me from the very beginning and walked my husband and I through tours and price options. The gardens are open to the public, but the visitors were quite respectful and left us alone. The gardens are beautiful and the Ironstone ship was a fantastic setting for pictures. Even if you don't book them, I highly recommend a visit!
