Whim is absolutely incredible, and was instrumental in pulling off a deeply beautiful, joyful, and easy wedding day for us. We decided to start working with Whim in September 2021, with hopes of getting married in Fall 2022. We quickly learned just how much of a crunch there was on venues and vendors— but that’s where Natalie’s tremendous connections through the industry came in. She quickly moved on a number of venues and vendors, sketching out different plans for us, but it was because of her fantastic working relationship with the events team at our dream venue (The Mount) that we ultimately scooped up a slot there when they had a cancellation.
Natalie’s professionalism, know how, and smarts were so important all through the process—by and large we almost always went with her vendor recommendations, though she was great about presenting us with and pricing out a range of options. Down to a one, each vendor she recommended blew it out of the water: photography, makeup, band, etc. In addition to their incredible services day of, each vendor was absolutely wonderful to work with, just lovely and good natured, people that genuinely added to the day.
And Natalie herself is that way, too: we knew we liked her from the first day we met her on a Zoom, but came to realize over the course of a year of working together both just how fun and how much of a force of nature she really was. (I’m going to miss talking to her routinely!) My mother and I were the most involved in planning the wedding and we both are, shall I say, not weak personalities— but Natalie was fantastic with working with both of us, and made the whole process if not stress free (how could planning a wedding be stress free?), as stress-light as possible, and also highly efficient and enjoyable.
And the entire team was fantastic, too. Moira is truly a genius with florals— I had so many guests comment on how stunning they were— but the entire design of the wedding was truly breathtaking, and really felt true to us. Moira and Natalie were really responsive in talking with us and figuring out what we wanted.
We felt how lucky we were to work with Whim the entire way through the process, but maybe nowhere as much as day of, when the whole team sprang into action. Everything felt beautifully thought through, wonderfully controlled, and in symphony: it made it so that I could focus on being with my friends, family, and (now) husband on the day, and made all the difference.
They’re an incredible team of people and professionals. I feel lucky that they were the ones planning our wedding, and we’d work with them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without any hesitation.
Whim did our flowers and they were absolutely GORGEOUS. They were beyond what we could have ever imagined. The entire process working with these two ladies was SEAMLESS. They are kind and absolutely a dream to work with. Could not recommend them enough.
Working with Natalie and Moira was amazing! They listened to everything we wanted in our wedding and really made it happen, but even more beautiful and amazing than we thought possible. They took all the stress out of planning our wedding and made it so much fun. We really felt like family by the time the big day rolled around.
Natalie provided great advice and suggestions, but never once tried to sell us anything we didn't want or push a purchase on us. It was all about helping us plan and execute the perfect day.
Moira's floral arrangements were to die for. My bouquet was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and the flowers on the table settings were Pinterest perfect.
Natalie helped us submit to have our wedding photos printed in Boston Weddings magazine, so you can see the beautiful results for yourself here: https://www.bostonmagazine.com/weddings/2018/12/11/real-wedding-jose-mateo-ballet-theatre/
I love Natalie, Moira and the Whim team and I am sure you will too!
I honestly could not recommend Whim enough! From the first meeting with Natalie, Moira, and Giovanna, I had full trust and confidence in them. We worked together for a year of wedding planning, and they made every step super organized, easy, and fun. They work so hard to truly understand the vision you have for your wedding and who you are as a couple. I never had ONE concern that they did not have our best interest at heart. They have so many great relationships with top vendors, and do all the dirty work so you can just enjoy the process. They really made me feel like our wedding was their only priority even when they had a million things going on! When our wedding weekend came around, I knew it would be perfect because I trusted them so completely. They worked around the clock ( and with a smile on their faces!). You get the sense that they love what they do and they want to make your day the best of your life. And it was honestly the best day of our lives. From the decor, personal details, AMAZING floral arrangements ( Moira is seriously talented), to the flow of the day- I got so many comments from guests that they had been to a wedding with such a perfect flow of events, it was flawless.
My only complaint is that I can't relive the day over and over! I seriously love these ladies, and consider them friends for life ( the first thing I said to Natalie at the end of the wedding night was how much I would miss them!). Hiring them was the best possible decision we could have made!
Natalie, Moira and G were the perfect team to help us articulate, create and execute our vision. We were married at a non-traditional wedding venue so everything had to be sourced and brought in from outside, I had no idea how complicated this would be when we booked the venue and in hindsight I can say I never ever ever would have been able to do it without the help of Whim. They not only had experience doing this they had strong contacts with vendors to make things happen. They are extremely organized and timeline oriented to really keep you on track, yet at the same time they are creative and adventurous and willing to take risks on your design with you. They made you feel special and well cared for, like you were the only couple they were working for. I would recommend whim 100 out of 10 times and owe them so many thanks for the best weekend of our lives. Above and beyond!
Words can not express how appreciative I am for everything that Whim did for our wedding weekend. Hiring Whim was the best decision we ever made!! From the moment our relationship began, Natalie and Moira understood our vision and perfectly executed every single detail. They were responsive, creative, easy to work with and just generally fun-loving, awesome people. The wedding was everything we could of dreamed of and more. They made me feel calm on the big day and I never had to worry about anything falling through the cracks. The small details including parasols, a rose bar, marble accents that they came up with made our wedding so different and special. Moira's floral arrangements were stunning. She even knew how much I loved peonies and saved some all the way until July 7 for my special bouquet!! It is that attention to detail that separates them from other planners. Natalie and Moira have strong relationships with all Boston vendors and made the process incredibly seamless and were extremely easy to work with. Not only that, but they make an effort to get to know their clients and form a personal relationship with them. They truly knocked it out of the ballpark and made our wedding the most perfect day!!!
If you are looking for creativity and soul, hire Whim. I had an unconventional vision and they accepted my challenge with enthusiasm; they crafted an incredible vision and executed with perfection. They used unique flowers, created a beautiful color story, and in turn, truly unified the wedding theme with their floral creations. Most importantly, they were supportive, well organized, and thoroughly pleasant to engage with thoroughly the planning process and on the wedding day.
Whim Events is FANTASTIC! Hiring Whim was the best wedding-planning decision we made! Natalie, Moira, and Marjorie are happy people who bring great joy to the wedding planning process. They are also very knowledgeable, reliable, well-organized and flexible. We were delighted by our experience with them!

I cannot recommend Nathalie, Marjorie, and Whim Events enough! Our wedding day was absolutely amazing - beyond any of our expectations!
Every element of the day had been planned expertly and every interaction with our vendors taken care of so that we could enjoy ourselves and our guests completely. The wedding day is intense and wonderful so knowing that someone else was monitoring the schedule of the day, the vendors, and making sure all our guests were comfortable allowed us to be carried by that wave of hugs and love!
Nathalie carefully listened to us and understood our vision for the day and helped create the atmosphere we were looking for: beautiful, simple, fun and a bit rustic. It 100% felt like a collaborative effort and that we were able to have this amazing group project as a couple and as a family, with my (bride) mom and dad. Without Nathalie we would have been totally lost and not known where to start!
This is the groom writing on behalf of my wife. I urge anyone considering Whim to think twice before booking.
My wife started our search for a wedding planner and was initially drawn to Whim because they included a florist. Our only apprehension was a scathing review on Yelp that painted Natalie (Whim owner) as a phony who acted disrespectfully at her client’s wedding. https://tinyurl.com/y9g2o5ym
My wife got in touch with Natalie to discuss the review, who did a fairly decent job of making that reviewer sound like a crazy person. We decided to book Whim. We vetted her and still fell for it big-time - we feel like suckers now. Do yourself a favor and read her unapologetic response to the review.
The first few months went fine, but then things drastically changed. Communication was inconsistent, emails or parts of emails were left unanswered, and errors were becoming noticeable in quotes and contracts.
She sent a quote from a rental company with a total that was 2x our rentals budget. When we reacted with confusion, she became defensive and then dropped communication. Weeks went by without a revision to the order. My wife finally decided to do her own research and found the same tables and rental concepts for less than half the cost from a different vendor (under the same parent company). When confronting Natalie, she was again defensive.
Our “design board,” when we finally saw it, was essentially a regurgitation of my wife’s Pinterest board. Natalie’s research was lazy and every decision was made to play it safe for her. She never once contributed creatively, although she claimed repeatedly that ideas were her “thing.”
8 months into our working relationship, Natalie sent an email out to all her clients declaring new policies and rules. We now were officially limited to one 1-hr phone call per month – and don’t even think about going past that. “Sorry I have a hard-stop at 1 hr!” she’d say. All other calls had to be scheduled at least 24 hrs in advance, with permission. There was to be no texting moving forward, although it was surely ok for her to text you. She would demand, however, rapid action and decisions on our part.
Let me just reiterate this: Natalie demanded decisions from us, blamed us for delays, and would still make us wait weeks to talk directly to her.
Let me paint a picture. My wife and mother-in-law went in to Whim for a meeting with her business partner/florist, Moira, 3.5 months before the wedding. They were under the assumption that this was a meeting to review the floral proposal – my wife was clear from the beginning what she wanted, in terms of flowers. But they were sat down and interviewed as if they were new clients, having to explain their vision from scratch. Worst of all, Natalie’s assistant was told to yell a 5 min warning so they could be ushered out of the office as soon as an hour was up!
2 weeks later, after ignoring a sincere email from my wife explaining her concern with the lack of communication and uncertainty she was feeling the past weeks/months, Natalie abruptly broke off our business relationship. This happened ten months into our relationship and three months before the wedding. And to top it off, “I had been thinking about this for some time,” she said. What a consummate professional, right? One who is clearly dedicated to open communication with her clients.
We used Whim for florals only, and I loved working with them! They are extremely organized, very professional, and of course do STUNNING work. The trip to the flower market with Moira was so much fun -- she is so knowledgeable about flowers and did an amazing job of pointing me in the right direction after I word-vomited some ideas. She was also totally into my idea of bringing in unique centerpieces (terrariums and lanterns), and executed perfectly. We rented their arbor and had them turn it into a chuppah, which was not only beautiful but also withstood insane wind during our ceremony. My only regret is that I wish I had hired them for their planning services as well -- would have made the whole process so much more seamless/less stressful!!
Hiring Natalie and Whim Events as our wedding planner was the best decision we have made as a couple so far. With her expertise and enthusiasm for our wedding (all the while working on many other beautiful events), Natalie made our wedding day come alive exactly as we wanted it to. We just wanted to throw a huge party and make our friends and family feel incredibly loved and well taken care of. Whim delivered and beyond.
A few other ways to describe Whim: Professional, detail-oriented, considerate, and committed to us actually enjoying the planning and throwing a tasteful and loving party!
I cannot say enough good things about Whim. We used them for florals for our wedding in July 2015, and they were outstanding. Our flowers were gorgeous, unique, and exactly what we wanted. Natalie and Kelsey are SUPER organized and had me totally reassured that everything was on track during the planning process, and Moira is so creative and a total peach to work with! They absolutely exceeded our expectations. We did not use them for event planning, but they we so organized and responsive to our communications that I'd feel totally comfortable recommending them for that as well. These gals are awesome!
When I tell you that Whim Events is the best place for floral design, planning, and wedding advice, I seriously mean it. I've been fortunate enough to work with Whim Events as a wedding professional over the years and this August I got to be a Whim bride! The passion, vision, dedication, innovation, heart and professionalism that Whim puts into their work is unfathomable. Moira is head of floral design and creative and she is the most talented artist I have ever known. Moira truly loves and cares for each bride and every bloom that is present at their wedding. The soul she puts into her floral design is like no on else. Whim's team is attentive and on point and helped me feel so at ease. They are open to ideas, but know how to advise a bride and do what's best for her Big Day. They truly brought our vision to life and made our wedding day so gorgeous. I can't thank them enough and am so lucky to call these ladies my friends. There is no other floral design/planning company like them. I suggest Whim to every bride I meet and I know you'll love them, too. They blew us away and took our wedding to the next level. We love you, #Whimen!
I only utilized the floral design aspect of Whim Events& Floral Design, but from the first day I met with Moira and Natalie I knew that I was in good hands! I can only imagine how wonderful their event planning services must be! They were flexible with me and willing to work within my budget(even though I thought they were way out of my league by looking at their work!) They listened to me and knew exactly what my vision was; Moira was coming up with ideas that surpassed what I was capable of imagining! They incorporated the elements of produce and earthy forest that I had envisioned. And, without blinking an eye, they overcame obstacles of not being able to "tack, nail, or tape" anything to the walls of the historic structure which served as my venue! On top of all that Moira and Natalie were a pleasure to work with! I would recommend them to everyone, and would be happy to answer any questions about Whim!
