strated with them, because they changed their permitting policy where we had to apply/fill out the information through the city. They told us about 2 months away from the date, and there was a deadline to get the permit. It just didn't seem like something that we should handle, because the permit application asks for specific measurements and set up of the tent.
Additionally, days away from our wedding we were asked if we would like to change to a tent without a big pole in the middle. Considering that we had a pretty extensive layout that would be under the tent, we said yes. However, it was more expensive to do so.
I just felt like it was pulling teeth to work with these guys regarding logistics. Not to mention they really weren't that responsive, and pretty archaic regarding their payment system. You have to call and give your credit card information over the phone, which is a pain when you and your husband have full time jobs and are just trying to speed through getting things planned.
Use them if you need a tent, otherwise I would shop around for other options.

And, the morning of my wedding when we had an issue with the tent, she not only answered all of my calls on a Saturday while she was with her son, but she solved the issue for me, got with my venue to get it all squared away, and refunded me for the parts that we did not end up using, which was SO helpful knowing that the team had my back and made sure we were happy at the end of the day, even if that meant they were giving us money back. I can't explain how thankful I am for vendors who really want to make a positive lasting impression, and that is what you are getting with Whim. Not to mention their rentals are beautiful! I’m a wedding planner in Austin, so I’ve worked with several rental companies before. Jennifer Anthony is the first manager/sales person I’ve ever seen show up at the venue the day of the wedding. It’s almost always just the delivery drivers/set up crew, so I was very impressed by this. She is so easy to get along with, and was very accommodating throughout the entire process. We were also trying to dodge the rain on our wedding day, and just days before the wedding I was back and forth with her trying to figure out what the latest time possible would be for them to deliver. This was a moment I started to feel a little bit of bridezilla come on, but Jennifer continued to work with me so easily. 5 star employee, 5 star company. higher than other places, but they are willing to work with you if you ask. I wish they had been more communicative about pickup and drop-off times. They came earlier than expected to drop everything off, and we didn't receive any sort of notification when they came to pick up. communication was NEVER a problem. Whim Rentals did a great job making the wedding of our dreams come to life! Their showroom of the different options was incredible and we were able to test different colors, sizes, patterns, and textures of table cloths, napkins, and tables. The rental team did a great job of putting together a neat diagram that showed the layout of all of the rentals and how they would fit in the wedding and reception areas. They also did a great job of explaining and advising us on the flow of our guests over time at our wedding, and which layout would be the most optimal and cost-efficient. When it came to the day-of, everything was executed perfectly, and there were no problems in repurposing rentals from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception. Whim rentals put the elegant, classy, and personal touch on our wedding day! Like every area of Whim, excellence is the norm, personal touch is the expectation, and execution is flawless.

by using their dishes. silverware, linens, etc. We made some last minute changes to our proposal a few weeks prior to our event and they seemed very quick to updates. They have a nice selection of dishes, silverware, tables, chairs, etc.. and we were able to select exactly what we were wanting. I personally think the cost was a little high because every item was À la carte but in the end that could be beneficial to those who only need a few pieces and not entire sets. We selected a large dinner plate, water glasses, iced tea glasses, forks, knives, table linens, and ottomans. We decided to bring our own plastic cake plates and plastic forks for the cake table to save $. We were very satisfied for the items we rented.

ur plate/linen order was right, to getting us GREAT food. First off, everyone loved our food! It was incredibly delicious and the choices there are endless. BEST MAC N CHEESE. and it was reasonably priced as well. Second, Whim had never catered at our venue so Randi took the time to go over there and make sure she was familiar with everything for the night of our wedding. Third, they care so much! During our multiple conversations with Whim we repeatedly discussed that our tables were to be set in the tents outside of our venue for lunch and, thereafter, moved inside the venue for the reception. We paid additional fees for this. In addition, Whim was to set up a stage for the wedding and to tear it down and remove it for the reception. We emphasized that this was important because my dad has bad knees and would have difficulty getting on and off the stage during the reception. Despite repeatedly confirming this, on the night before my wedding, while I was on the way to one of our events, we received a call from Whim stating that they would not move the stage for the reception and that we would have to pay an additional $800 to have it moved. This was well out of my budget and I could not afford to pay an additional $800. In addition, the next day, the stage had been set up in the wrong orientation and the tables, that were supposed to have been set up outside, were set up inside the venue.
As a result, my dad and a number of our guests had to move the tables outside. I did not know this at the time. I only found out when my dad was not able to walk for a week after the wedding due to incredible pain in his knees. Not to mention the fact that he and became very ill because he was moving these tables in the freezing cold and had not come dressed to my wedding prepared to do this. If I could give Whim a negative rating, I would.
They provided everything I needed at a decent rate. Delivered on-time without any issues. My only complaint against them would be slow communication responces from them.

importantly, they are willing to work with you. We went back and forth on what we needed to rent all the way up to our wedding day and DS Party Rental totally accommodated us. They are efficient and the most affordable in this area. The other nice thing is if they do not have what you are looking for; they will find it for you. They didn’t have the particular tent that we needed for our wedding, so instead of us having to handle that situation, they took care of it.
We only used them for rentals, but they do offer other services such as wedding coordinator and floral . . . so if you are looking for one stop shopping, they can handle it. They will also recommend other vendors if you need help. They helped us find our wedding venue and we couldn’t have been happier.
