I went to 8 bridal dress shops in Dallas and tried on over 100 dresses and found the one at White Gown Workroom. Working with Debra on buying and altering my dress was one of the most comforting, peaceful, and easiest parts of wedding planning for me. It was a seamless experience from start to finish. I bought my dress at White Gown Workroom and had it altered there. I also bought my veil, earrings, and headpiece there. My dress was perfect and altered to perfection. Highly recommend Debra and White Gown Workroom.
Debra is AMAZING. The quality of their work is impeccable. I purchased a dress of the rack, that had to be taken in quite a bit, and their work was flawless. Not only is the quality of their work wonderful, but they truly make you feel special and excited for your day.
Ms. Debra is the best. She made me feel special and was attentive to my needs. I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. I would suggest that all Brides to be check out this boutique. Very professional, brilliant and a Blessing. Thank you Ms. Debra you ate the bomb.com.
White gown was my first every wedding dress shop I visited. Crystal was the perfect stylist! She researched my venues to help choose dresses that would fit their styles and my vision. She was such a joy to work with and my party also thought the world of her. While I did not end up choosing while their gowns I highly recommend a visit to this boutique. They are very attentive to their clients and are very warm and welcoming to everyone in this exciting process.
Debra was wonderful! She made the entire process simple and relaxed. My mom and I were the only ones in the gorgeous store, so Debra made the entire experience so personalized. We absolutely loved our time with her! I described what I was looking for in a dress, and the first one she had me try on exceeded all my expectations! It was beautiful and perfect. As someone who does not enjoy shopping/trying on clothes, Debra made the experience a great one!
Beautiful shop with excellent service! Great gown selection and personal service. Highly recommend.
My mom and I have been to several boutiques at this point and I found White Gown workroom online and wanted to schedule at least one more place for the afternoon. I was an hour early for our actual appointment, which Debra was kind enough to allow us to come since someone was a no show. She explained what she had in the shop and the first dress I tried on, I fell in love! We had discussed more about what / how much the dress would be and it was well within and even less than my budget so we were even more excited. We thought, let’s just give the other dresses a chance and then the 2nd dress she chose was actually the one. My mom had made a suggestion of what to alter and Miss Debra said she could make it happen! It was so exciting and I loved our vision and the fact that Miss Debra was so patient and open to all our requests and ideas. I am looking forward to working with her some more in regards to altering my dream dress and so incredibly happy that we found her! You won’t regret it.
Loved the experience! This was the first bridal shop I felt comfortable in. She was amazing and really helped me envision my perfect dress and made it happen. I was worried about a covid lock down getting in the way or causing delays but that was not the case. She made sure my dress was perfect with plenty of time for the big day. The one on one service is AMAZING. It made the experience a lot more enjoyable and less stressful. Would highly recommend over and over again!
I was a bit hesitant about alteration costs initially due to my lack of knowledge of the process. However, I can state that Debra’s work is work every penny. My dress was perfect! Every time I went back for a fitting or to try it on, I was extremely excited. She fixed some damage to the netting of the back of my gown and added a beautiful design that looked true to the original beading and lace. I am so grateful my planner recommended her work. I don’t think I would have trusted anyone else with my dress. Plus, I was able to dance all night while the dress fit my body perfectly.
I really do not want to write a impolite review but I truly do want anyone in search of someone who is going handle their wedding gown alterations to have my honest opinion. My dress turned out pretty good, but there were a few parts of the dress that just weren’t altered to fit my body correctly (and unfortunately it’s pretty obvious in most of my wedding pictures). I really am not picky about the “experience” but it also wasn’t made out to be anything too special. Debra was nice but if I could do it again I think I would have chosen to go elsewhere. I originally chose White Gown Workroom because she quoted me the lowest price (oops, this was not the best way to choose the location…lesson learned) – but after all was said and done, the final cost came out to be over 3x as much as the original quote. In all fairness, we did more than I originally intended but I also wasn’t given any notice on how much it was adding up to be until I checked out and I felt a little blind sighted. She explained the pricing breakdown but it would have been so nice to be warned how much it was all adding up to be along the way. My bustle also wouldn’t stay up. After re-hooking it about 5 times I just gave up and just let it drag. Lastly, I think I ended up having at least 5-6 appointments….which I feel was very unnecessary for what I had done. There was at least 2 appointments that I went back to and I swear nothing had been done to the dress. Overall – it was decent but I wish I had gone elsewhere.
I took my princess dress about 4 1/2 months before my wedding day. When I first walked in Debra did not get up to greet me, she glanced out of her glasses from her desk and said "Your dress is hanging up, you can go put it on, let me know if you need me". This is my FIRST encounter with the lady that is altering the dress for my WEDDING day. My mother and wedding planner were actually on their way and I wanted to wait on them to help me with my dress. I was very emotional from the dry greeting in the dressing room, my mother had to calm me down when she got there. Within my 4 fitting appointments, She took it upon herself to ask me MULTIPLE times "Is this this dress you initially wanted? You wanted a big dress?" as if my dress was not nice, or too difficult of a task for her, or as if I had chosen the wrong dress. I stated multiple times "this is exactly the type of dress I wanted". I am a very positive person so I remained positive throughout the entire process. Fast forward to my final fitting for my bustle (my dress was very large with many layers), the fitting went fine and I would be picking the dress up the very next week 1 day before wedding day. I went to pick my dress up that day at 11am(one day before wedding day). I did not try it on and pick it up, I tried it on... she forgot to bustle some layers, we left had lunch, I came back to try it on, she still missed some layers, I came back for the third time around 3-4pm to get my dress and she was STILL sewing on it. I put my dress on around 3-4 times that day which was extremely unnecessary and unprofessional, my dress should have been done. Finally, she was done. Initially we were told the price could range up to 800$ for alterations. I never had an itemized detailed receipt of what I was being charged for. I ended up paying around 1,200 for alterations, and a veil. She did not apologize for taking up our ENTIRE day. We had to cancel appointments and we were rushed doing other tasks including taking my dress to Lewisville to get it steamed because she simply did not offer to steam my dress which should be included in such pricey alterations. We had to pay her before we took the dress and she made that clear. Debra was not as professional as she should have been. I do not recommend her to ANY bride, especially it being such a delicate time in their life. On wedding day, My mother and planner constantly had to bustle my dress throughout my reception, it was very embarrassing and I was very upset. My dress was beautiful but she ruined the bustle and could not do it effectively. We wasted 1,200.
Very disappointed in the works that my daughter received at The White Gown. The first impression is always the last impression. Debra was rude the minute my daughter walked in the door. My daughter arrived a few minutes early to her appointment, as soon as she walked in Debra told her in a very rude tone, "Go put your dress on". She informed Debra that she wanted to wait a few more minutes for her mother and her wedding planner to attend and Debra said, "No go ahead and get dressed." I arrived in less than 5 minutes to assist my daughter into her dress and she was literally in tears in the dressing room. Point number one. We purchased my daughter's dress in Lewisville at the Bridal Boutique. Our wedding planner requested us to utilize The White Gown for alteration, we had never done a wedding, so we just went along with it. Debra quoted us price from $400-$800, our final price was $1400. 00. Which was ridiculous. Point number 2. My daughter had 4 fittings to determine the appropriate bustle, on her final day (dress pick up day, two days before her wedding), she tried her dress on a total of 4 times to attempt to get the bustle corrected. Once the bustle and fittings were completed, we had to take her dress back to Lewisville to get it steam. Debra (The White Gown) did not even offer us steaming for the dress. The most exciting day of my daughter's life her wedding day, me and the wedding planner had to bustle(correct) her dress during the entire reception, we even have a few pictures of the tail of the dress dragging. I decided to call Debra to inform her of the mishaps that took place and she apologize, but the tone of her apology was rude. Even during our conversation, she said, "What else do you want me to do?" Why would a business woman say something as rude as that? I told her that if she could not do the dress correctly she should have owned up to it. I also informed her, I was informing her that I wanted to prevent this from happening to another bride. Please do your research with anything that can affect your happiness. I do understand that things happen, but if it wasn't for customers she won't be in business. A customer's happiness should mean more to her. She was never friendly, and I do not recommend her services to anyone. I will also be reporting this to the BBB. Thank you!
I was blown away. I walked into the store and did not have a lot of hope that I would find my dress. I am pretty simple and dont like a whole lot of dresses but i ended up finding the absolute PERFECT dress after only trying on 4 dresses. From what I bought to what She was able to create for me was like night and day. I loved my dress that I bought but the way she altered it to my body made me LOVEEE it! 100% recommend getting your dress and getting it altered here.
I cannot recommend White Gown Workroom enough!
Debra was sweet, encouraging, and helpful. She obviously has experience in procuring high quality, designer gowns!
She had a great selection with wonderful variety. I tried on several beautiful Justin Alexander's, and I ended up buying a beautiful Theia gown. It was also budget friendly!
We had the Workroom all to ourselves, and it was such a great experience!
I was able to pick out the gowns I wanted to try. At other salons, they picked for me, which wasn't as fun and personalized.
Thank you so much for helping me find the perfect wedding gown, Debra! We appreciate you!
I went here to find my perfect wedding dress and it was an amazing experience to say the least. I found THE dress that was slightly too small but I was in love. Debra reassured me that she will make it work, and not only did my dress fit like it was made to my size but she transformed it to make it even more beautiful than it already was. Debra was so nice and made you feel comfortable in her store. It was very private with just you and who you brought with you, and everything couldn't have gone more perfectly!! I would highly recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed!
I am not from Dallas so I did a lot of research before deciding to make an appointment at White Gown Workroom. I was really looking forward to this appointment, based off the reviews I had read but unfortunately was very disappointed from the moment I walked through the door. Debra (the owner) was very unwelcoming; it almost seemed as if we were bothering her. She was no help when it came to finding dresses and trying on. She gave zero feedback - with no enthusiasm at all, saying maybe a total of ten words in the 30 minutes we were there (we couldn't get out of there fast enough) She had no answers when asked questions about the dresses and possible alterations. The experience was tainted for not only myself but my entourage as well - ruining the entire experience. I even found a dress that I thought was "the one" and decided not to purchase due to the lack of excitement in the room due to Debra's poor customer service. In a business like this it is important to make the bride feel special, unfortunately Debra made me feel more like an inconvenience. I had much more pleasant experiences at competitor shops around town (A Bridal Closet & Terry Costa). I would not recommend this shop to any bride!
I made a weekend trip to Dallas to to find my dress. Out of the 4 bridal salons that I had visited, this shop was the best. The owner was welcoming, warm, friendly and made me feel comfortable. She recommended that I try a ball gown (which was completely opposite of what I was originally looking for) and after I tried it on I fell in love! I said yes to the dress, thanks to her help! She was accommodating by letting us stay past the shops' opening and even worked with me when it came to payment and the pick up of my dress. I couldn't say enough good things about my experience there!
We moved to Waco a few months before our wedding. I was concerned that I wouldn't find someone with Dallas skills, so I was quick to schedule my appointment with Debra. I had 2 fittings and they went so well. Then I picked up my dress for my bridals and didn't try it on. Worst thing, it didn't fit for my bridals due to the boob cups not being considered in taking it in, but Debra was amazing. She offered to come to Waco, fixed my dress in 3 days and brought it back! What service! It is perfect!!
Debra is the BEST! She made my dream dress come true! She is the best of the best! I would recommend anyone to her. She can do anything with a dress. Her shop is ADORABLE! She is cool, calm and collected. Such a fun experience!
I had a horrible experience with Debra. I am getting married in a couple of weeks and I gave her my wedding dress since December 2015. There were three main alterations to be done to the dress and I had appointments every two weeks to try the drees. However, there was no improvement during the first 4 months. She took the same measurements over and over again but the dress was always the same by the next appointment. I decided to tell her that I was not seeing any improvements on April because I started getting worried since the wedding date was coming closer. She finally started working on my dress by mid April but kept saying that she didn't know how much it was going to cost me. I kept asking and asking every single appointment but she never told me and I guess it was my mistake to trust her. On my final appointment she told me the price was almost 3 times more that what she said on the first appointment and by then I was only 3 weeks from my wedding. Too late to look for other tailors or possibilities. She finally gave me the dress last weekend. Her work was OK but I paid way more than I expected and she deserved. She did not steam the dress as she promised so now I have to do that as well. I would not recommend this place. It was a nightmare and her work was just OK for the money I paid.
Debra is amazing--so talented and kind! I ripped my dress during both my bridal portraits and my wedding reception and she was able to fix everything to the point that I cannot even see the original rips. I recommend Debra to anyone who needs gown alterations and mending.
Debra is the absolute best in the city. She does quality work in a timely fashion. I was in a bind with my wedding dress 3 years ago and she saved the day. She totally
re-did the top to make me feel more comfortable and I loved it. I recently returned with a bridesmaid dress fiasco and she delivered her best work as usual. Debra is amazing, sweet, calm, honest and the best person for any job.
I loved working with Debra! I selected a gown off the rack in her shop and worked her design magic! The final fit was perfect and she even added pockets to the dress per my request! It was a pleasure working with her through the process.
Debra did an amazing job on my dress. She is extremely professional and worked with my tight timeline. Her pricing and quality of work are both exceptional and her shop in uptown Dallas is SO cute. Thank you, Debra!
Awesome customer service! The shop is lovely, and very inviting!
Debra at The White Gown Workroom created a masterpiece! My wedding dress was so beautiful and I loved it. It started out as something totally different than the designer intended but Debra made sure it was what I wanted! She was a joy to work with, we loved our time with her. We highly recommend her and The White Gown Workroom.
Debra has altered numerous bridesmaids dresses for me and I would not consider taking my alterations anywhere else! She has the talent to work wonders with every dress style and fabric type I bring her. Thanks to Debra, without fail, my dresses are complimented as being exceedingly elegant and flattering. In fact, Debra exceeds expectations in all aspects of her work. She is flexible and works around my alternating night/day work schedule. Debra's talent and sense of style are matched by her sweet heart, charming personality and diligent work ethic. when I showed up completely clueless she helped me decide how to arrange the straps on a convertible panel bridesmaid dress. Then she even video recorded step-by-step how to tie the straps so a friend could recreate them on the wedding day! If you have questions about shoe or accessory pairing she has great insight. For those looking to buy a dress for that special day, Debra has an unimaginable collection of unique and stunning wedding gowns in the White Gown Workroom that are certain to inspire any future bride to be. She also did extensive wedding gown alterations for my sister to create her dream dress. I am so thankful that both my sister and I have the pleasure of knowing and working with Debra.
I cannot say enough good things about Debra! She is talented, creative, professional, diligent and an absolute joy to work with. I decided update my moms dress for my wedding day...Debra met with me countless times over a year so that we could slowly tweak the dress until it was perfect.... She preserved the original character of the dress but modernized it beautifully. Working with Debra was a highlight of my wedding planning process!!! If you are wanting to update an heirloom dress or just make alternations to a new one, you should definitely give her a call!! She also has a great selection of dresses in her store!!
I was very pleased with my experience with Ms. Debra. She had the perfect dress for my wedding day. And she was a one stop shop-were I can buy my dress (@ an amazing price!!!) and was able to complete all the alterations needed as well. I loved her shop because her dresses were beautiful and inexpensive. Check out the White Gown Showroom and give Ms. Debra a call!
I found "THE" dress randomly in a magazine and knew it was the one I wanted. The only place in Texas that was listed for that designer was the white gown showroom. Though she didn't have the actual dress on hand, Debra went above and beyond to find the dress and have them send a sample for me to try. I immediately fell in love with it once I tried it on, and Debra did an EXCELLENT job altering and bustling it. The pressing of the dress was very time consuming due to all the intricate material, but I looked and felt like a princess on my wedding day and a huge part of that is thanks to Debra!
took much longer than anticipated for my gown to arrive. good customer service. took up my gown too much
