10/10 definitely recommend! If you're looking for a small place that your closest friends and loved ones can gather to spend the weekend (and celebrate your wedding), this is it! Beautiful views, gorgeous ceremony/reception spaces, spacious rooms for all of your guests. It was an easy decision, being so all-inclusive of our needs. We had a lovely time!!
The most beautiful outdoor natural setting you could ever ask for a wedding! On top of a mountain overlooking Beaver Lake! The wedding coordinator, Linda, was a complete pleasure to work with! Every request we made, she had a positive response. Our reception was perfect! We utilized the indoor facilities, as well as the outdoor lawn and deck. All beautiful and perfect for our daughter’s wedding. The Guest rooms at the adjoining lodge were great! Spacious and comfortable! The lodge manager, Wayne, was so very accommodating. I worked with him from the beginning ( a year out) holding all of the guest rooms until checking out of our room the day after the wedding. He too only had “yes” in his vocabulary! Each and everyone of our family and guest were treated like royalty! Would definitely recommend this hidden secret in the Ozark of Northwest Arkansas! Beautiful venue and so easy to work with each of the staff!!!
So Great!
Great venue! View is perfection! But lady working there was a little rude on my wedding day
My wife and I were married at this Lodge last summer and I was doing a search to see about returning for our anniversary and came across this wedding website with its reviews. I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but we had about 150 guests and our entire experience was outstanding. We both have pretty demanding and detail oriented parents (on both sides), and how wonderful our wedding was is still a topic of conversation among the family. Everyone was very professional, and although we weren't happy about not being able to take the unopened special order alcohol with us, we understand that the rules are because of something in the Arkansas state law that doesn't let them do that.
Linda was helpful and friendly and so was the property manager. The whole experience was wonderful. So much so that I am off now to see about booking my anniversary weekend to stay with them again in the same room we had on our honeymoon before we left for Europe! The only more beautiful view we had on the whole honeymoon was one on a cliffside in Italy looking at the mediterranean!
I can't more highly recommend this place for a wedding reception!
My wife and I were married at the lodge in October last year. First of all, the view is unbelievable. The pictures don't do it justice. We had family and friends attend our wedding from all over the country and since then, several have already returned here for vacations and one family even moved to the area after experiencing a week at Whitney Mountain. We rented the entire lodge for the wedding and the event was awesome. The staff made sure that everything was perfect for our ceremony, reception and stay. Luther and Kathy gave us a tour of all the rooms at the lodge and every one is spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. The suites are huge with french doors that open to a large private deck and of course incredible views. The beds are new and very comfortable. As far as a wedding venue goes, this place exceeded all our expectations. Kathy listened to what we wanted and then worked to make it happen. We plan to return often and hope to have a family reunion at Whitney Mountain Lodge in the near future. Overall great experience in every way.
First of all I have to say the Venue was Breathtaking!!! I could not have pictured a more beautiful place to get married. I loved the rooms that we got as well and so did my guests, the included breakfast was tasty and over all the place worked out so perfectly to fit my vision. With that being said, the service SUCKED! We signed the papers and were promised one thing and then given another. It was one hassle after the other! We rented the entire venue EXCLUSIVLY for the weekend and then there was a wedding in progress when we arrived! This was after we had to throw a fit because they wanted to open their bar to the public. The coordinator promised to help, but really just made things more difficult and when she did helped, it was very half assed. We paid for more staff then we got (and staff was NOT included in the 11k venue rental!) we paid for more alcohol then needed and then did NOT get to keep our extra champagne bottles. Every request I made (like moving the mismatched chairs) was a huge ordeal! The owner and the coordinator were NOT on the same page so a lot of things she had said yes to the owner got upset with us about! I constantly had to keep an eye on what was going on to make sure the coordinator did not screw things up for me! She was really very little help and my family did more to make sure the day ran smoothly than she did! It's really sad that the best location and most beautiful venue is ran by uncaring, unfriendly, uptight rip off artists! My guests remarked one to many times how rude she was! I still say it's a great venue and mostly worth the costs, just beware of how they run things, stand your ground, and bring your own help!
This was a destination wedding for my daughter. The setting at Whitney Mountain Lodge was incredibly beautiful. Luther Black, the owner, and Linda Maihoffer, the event coordinator, went above and beyond to insure the guests and entire wedding party had a most amazing experience. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for Whitney Mountain Lodge!
The view at the lodge is amazing! Every guest commented how pretty the view was. We were married in October and the trees were beautiful. The lodge had a great set up for our wedding and reception.
The only caution I give to other brides is the administration at the lodge is HORRIBLE! The lodge "wedding cordinator" is NOT helpful at ALL. She will fill you full of smoke telling you that she will accomidate everything and help on the wedding day. After we paid her, everything we asked her to help with was something she wouldnt do. She told us we would have plenty of time to decorate (she specifically said we could stay all night the night before), we were given an hour before rehersal. We were NOT given a copy of our contract to see exactly what we were paying for. She harrased my entire wedding party when they set their drinks down on the tables that we needed to get them off her property. At the reception, she butchered my wedding cake (which by reading her facial expression after I asked her to cut the cake, i was asking for her kidney). This was also noticed by my guest and commented to me.
There was a refridgerator out so I could not bring my cake up there the day before. We paid the $200 to have coffee, tea, water and punch at the reception, but it was NEVER kept full. I also had several complaints from my guest stating the water tasted horrible.
She let me use the hurricanes that were in the lodge. I brought my own candles and during the reception she loudly stated to me in front of my guest that MY candle broke on of HER hurricanes. It was extremly embarassing and RUDE!
Honestly, I will only recommend this place if you have a wedding cordinator handle her. Its very sad that for $3000 we truely only paid for an amazing lake view. TO EXPENSIVE for what we were given. The rooms were great, but it was WAY overpriced for what they offer.
I honestly cant say I would recommend this place to anyone.
The rooms at the lodge were very nice and the view gorgeous. However, we had some issue with the service. Plates of food were being picked up before people were finished with them, rooms were double booked, some decorations were broken when taken down by the staff, which were all minor things. But the one thing that really bothered myself and my husband was the staff started to take down all the table decorations an hour before the reception was over which made our guest get up and leave. We paid a lot to use that space and didn't get to use it for the entire allowed time we paid for.
The view is breathtaking! I was so excited the first time I went to the lodge. Linda said yes to everything I asked, but then the owner came in the day of the wedding and made snide comments to my family and friends. Then he stayed for the entire wedding and reception, but did not change from the dirty jeans and dirty shirt that he had been working in all day long in 100 degree weather. It was very upsetting when my father noticed his attire. Everyone else was dress in their Sunday best! They also said the can serve up to 200 people, but yet they did not have real glasses for everyone, but I could pay extra to have them rent them! Linda was nowhere to be found the day of the wedding and promised that there would be people to set everything up, I never did see anyone except for my mother and friends doing all the work, they even had to move all the ceremony chairs because there was not enough room to walk down the aisle. They let the bartender take all the food home and apparently all the leftover champagne which we had purchased through them and assumed they would serve throughout the speeches. I had to demand the service of the champagne for the toast because the bartender said there was not any. Linda was no where to be found again. All I have to say is get every tiny detail written out minute by minute and ask to see all the alcohol bottles when they are full and then when they are empty. It would be a fantastic place if the management was better! All in all the wedding was beautiful!
