I would NOT recommend Dj Brian to ANYONE. He did everything wrong. From the start, he rescheduled our meeting twice to go over everything for our wedding. I asked him to review my timeline & he said he wouldn’t review it until our phone call. After rescheduling twice, the third time we were supposed to have a meeting, he was an hour late. When he called, he had the wrong Megan & the wrong wedding date. He said he needed to call us back in 5 minutes so he could get papers together (when he was already an hour late). When he finally called us back, he tried to change my entire timeline to do it his way. He told us he has been doing this since he was 16 and he knows what he is doing (he didn’t). He talked about things that made 0 sense & didn’t pertain to the wedding at all. He kept going on and on about how he needs to hire help, but that he is still the best & knows what he is doing since he has been doing it “since he was 16.” We went over our timeline, and I asked him to send me his notes because I knew he wasn’t taking any. He sent me a list that had things ordered like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5, 8, 7, 8, 9, 6, etc. The order was completely wrong. We sat there talking for an hour and he had not taken any notes that made sense. We should have known then that he wasn’t going to be good. When I asked what time he would show up to the wedding, he said noon. He proceeded to send me his venmo two different days and said make sure to put friends and family because “I don’t want to have to pay fees.” He sent this to me twice, when we had many days left to pay him before the wedding. The wedding day comes around, & he didn’t show up until 3:50 for a 4:30 ceremony. I texted him “are you here?” & he proceeded to say no he fell behind because of his other dj’s and he didn’t grab the photo booth & the extra equipment he needed. My brother called him and he wouldn’t answer. When he finally did answer, he told him he was 5 min away. 35 minutes later he showed up. My groom also called him and when Brian answered he said “Didn’t I already talk to you?” When Brian finally showed up (4 hours late), he didn’t set anything up correctly. We paid extra money for a photo booth that wasn’t set up until 9pm when our wedding started at 4:30pm. He didn’t bring the white backdrop for the photo booth, so he had to go to walmart to buy one when he was already late. At one point, he couldn’t get the photo booth set up and he proceeded to tell my guest, “I can’t DJ and set up the photo booth at once, I can’t do both.” If he would have shown up on time, this would have never been an issue! For the ceremony, he told us he was bringing clip on mics & he didn’t bring them. Then, the hand held mics he brought, didn’t work, so we had to yell for everyone to hear us. For the reception, he made us & our bridal party stand out in the rain for 20 minutes because he didn’t have the fog machine or the wall uplighting set up. He made us an hour late on our reception timeline, which caused us to cut out 2 of the events we had planned for the evening. When he spoke into the microphone, you couldn’t hear anything. He didn’t make announcements correctly, he didn’t do things in the right order, he did nothing right. I had to go up to him during the middle of my wedding and go over our ENTIRE timeline again that he had completely wrong. It was absolutely ridiculous. Overall, this was the worst DJ experience I have ever had. DJ Brian was terrible, he made excuses for everything, & I would NEVER recommend him to anyone for anything. He should really stop saying “I know what I am doing, I’ve been doing it since I was 16” because it didn’t seem like he had ever been a DJ a day in his life!

DJ Zik (Brian) was our chosen DJ for our wedding on 9/6/24 in Detroit. Everything was excellent from the planning through the entire event. Brian worked with us prior to the event to help plan timing of the activities playlists and was very much in tune with our ideas to make the day special. During the ceremony and reception Brian helped keep us on track and did a great job of playing the right music to make sure everyone had a great time. Brian also supplied a Photo Booth that was a big hit and I’m still enjoying all of the great photos. Highly recommend for any event.

What went well: DJ Brian answered my questions every step of the way. Brian also took the time to go through all details during the phone call 2 weeks before wedding day. Josh, the DJ who showed up, got most of the ceremony songs right. He also got the major events at the reception right, like first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances. What went wrong: I was told DJ Brian would be at my wedding. Instead he sent DJ Josh, who looked more like a nightclub DJ instead of wedding DJ. He played the wrong song for the ring bearers. He setup at the wrong community center for the reception, which caused him to be an hour late getting to the reception and therefore late in getting equipment setup. We paid for a photo-booth, which wasn't setup until 2 1/2 hours into the reception. Photo-booth printer paper ran out and he didn't have more with him. I made a Spotify playlist and he didn't use it at all. He played a couple of random songs that weren't appropriate considering we had 14 kids between the ages of 4 and 15. at the reception. Toward the end of the evening, when many guests had left, he blasted the music louder, causing some of us to go outside for some peace. Of everything that went wrong, not having our playlist used, hurt the most. My mother passed away a few years before the wedding. I had songs on there meant to be tributes to my mother. Also, my family's native language isn't English. The playlist had songs in both languages to honor both our families. When I spoke with DJ Brian after the wedding and explained what happened, he did give me a discount for the inconvenience. He also promised to print and mail the pictures from the photo-booth. Unfortunately that never happened. If you're looking for a DJ and are happy to let the DJ do whatever, you may be ok with WildSide Entertainment. If you need someone who is detailed and will play the music you want, this company may not be right for you.

We used DJ Zik at our wedding this last weekend plus his photo booth services. His Photo Booth was a hit and the guests loved it! We have so many good memories to look back to now. He was very professional, set up and tore down fast. I gave him playlists for everything and he followed them but also added some songs in similar genres and our dance floor was going all night long! We did run into some snags with our timeline and he was so helpful with helping us rearrange some things throughout the night and making things smooth. Would recommend!
