William Ference Catering

We both work in food, so finding a caterer that would work with us on very specific menu requests, highlight local produce, and wow our guests might not have been easy but William made menu planning for our wedding a dream. We had a lot of fun working on our menu together, and our tasting with him was one of the most memorable parts of our planning process! We served plated salads but did the rest family style and our guests kept raving that this was the best "wedding food" they'd ever had - probably because it was intentionally not classic wedding food but more a celebration of ingredients and the comfort of eating on Cape Cod. If you work with him you won't regret the cheesy potatoes as your side dish, the amazing bread from Iggy's, the mini lobster rolls during cocktail hour (the best we had on the Cape all week!)...really anything William makes! He also worked with us on a custom raw bar that combined the best of the Mid-Atlantic (where we live) and Cape Cod. Thank you William for bringing our dream menu to life.

I cannot recommend William Ference Catering highly enough. William is friendly, easy to work with, and he and his team make outstanding food and drinks! When my (now) wife and I first met with William, we told him we didn't want to have traditional wedding food and then told him our food preferences. A few days later, he proposed a perfect menu - somehow, it exactly what we wanted even though we never could have thought of it ourselves. On the wedding day, William and his team did a brilliant job - the service was impeccable, and we were able to just enjoy our special day and have delicious food and drinks throughout with our guests. We (and several of our guests) thought the catering was the best we've ever had at a wedding. If/when I need a caterer in the future, I'd work with William and his team again in a heartbeat!

William Ference Catering catered our wedding and we absolutely loved working with them. They were excited to try a non-traditional wedding menu with us (a Mediterranean buffet) and gave great ideas to make a balanced menu. Communication with William was easy and he was always positive and calm in all of our interactions. The team clearly knows all of the ins and outs of catering a wedding - not just the food but also alcohol, rentals, set-up, day-of schedule, and more - they helped us make decisions and coordinated all of that. On the wedding day, the staff were so friendly and helpful - they took care of everything so we had nothing to worry about. We (the bride and groom) had a particular member of the catering staff assigned to us to check in regularly and make sure we had water and drinks, and got to try all of the hors d'oeuvres. The food was so much better than typical wedding food! It was not at all bland and clearly made with lots of seasoning and fresh herbs. We were delighted with it and many of our guests commented about how great the food was. It was one of the highlights of the day. It was every bit as good as the tasting, which was an in-home catered meal for 6 people (an additional fee but part of the overall great experience). We highly recommend them!

William and his team are the absolute best!!! Throughout the entire two years we were planning our wedding, William was awesome - he was super mindful of our budget, answered all of our questions, and was so much fun to do our tasting with. :) The food on our wedding day was PHENOMENAL, which was super important to my husband and I since we're big foodies. His team also made us feel so taken care of throughout our whole wedding day, and even went out of their way to bring us some plates of food while we were taking our photos during cocktail hour since we hadn't eaten anything in a while. Absolutely can't recommend them enough!

William and his entire staff were the most professional and friendly people that I've ever seen at a wedding. The servers had huge smiles on their faces, and made our guests feel like they were at a very special event. The servers WANTED to be there and you could tell that they really enjoy their job. A lot of our guests commented on the staff and let us know how professional and friendly they were. And William was SO easy to work with. He made our vision come alive, not only by putting out the most delicious food we've probably ever had at a wedding, but by creating an atmosphere that made our guests feel special and excited. We had 2 or 3 video chats with William to go over the food selection, food presentation preferences, and food timing. He not only looked at our example pictures and executed them perfectly, but he gave us a lot of "thinking outside the box" ideas that we hadn't thought of before. He nailed the timing of the passed apps, the before-dinner chowder, and the plated entrees. We gave him our rough itinerary/timing of the first dance, speeches, etc. and he took it and ran with it. He coordinated everything with our venue and the band, and he made our lives a lot less stressful. Now, the FOOD!!!! We, and our guests, were BLOWN AWAY. Everything was absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!! Everyone that we talked to after the wedding commented on how delicious the passed apps and entrees were. We even heard several people say it was the best food that they've ever had at a wedding. I can't say enough great things about William, his team, and his food. Please don't hesitate to hire him. He is the best in the business. We never for a second regretted hiring him.

Thank you William for making our wedding absolutely amazing. From beginning to end, he was so wonderful to work with and paid such close to attention to every single detail of our wedding. Aside from that, his food is absolutely incredible. All of our guests still have not stopped talking about it - the best food at a wedding EVER. That was something that was very important to us, that our guests enjoyed the food and William knocked it out of the park. He really made the wedding more of an experience with the carved for you meats, and sauteed pasta right in front of the guests. His staff was also so great, paid attention to every detail and made my husband and I feel so special. William we love you!!

My daughter got married this past August in Topsfield MA. At the recommendation of a manager at the venue, we interviewed and then hired William Ference Catering. I give William and his group 5 stars because they met and/or exceeded every expectation I had. William is more than a caterer; he is a gourmet chef, he is an artist. Furthermore, his staff was as professional as any I've seen anywhere, including at 5 star restaurants. Their attention to detail, and their focus on keeping everyone very happy are extraordinary. William does not use a typical menu for the dinner. Instead, he simply says "what would you like us to serve", because he can make anything you want. That, at first, was a bit intimidating to me because I like "choices", and the universe seemed a tad large. But he was very easy to work with and communicated very well, and we had a great time brain-storming each detail of the event. He provided excellent guidance along the way and answered all of my questions. Oh...and the food was superb. We hosted 140 guests, and all I heard were raves about the menu and the quality of the cuisine, from the apps to the entrees and sides.

We have never had a better meal at any wedding or large event than the food William and his team prepared for our wedding this past September. All of the food was fresh, flavorful, and plated beautifully. We have been told by every guest we talk to that the food was absolutely delicious. The appetizers for cocktail hour were also next level! Our guests spoke so highly of all of William’s team who were extremely attentive and professional. Working with William prior to the event was an absolute pleasure. He spent the time helping us create the menu we dreamed of and helped incorporate so many personal touches – signature cocktails, dessert cocktail, late night bites! We cannot recommend William and his team enough!

I’ll start this off by saying I have plenty of hindsight as it’s taken me a little while to write this review, but it would be remiss of me to not share the experience my wife and I had when William catered our wedding. From the very get go we knew William was our person. He was engaging, kind, pragmatic, realistic, and a pleasure to talk to about bringing people together over the limitless power of food, love, and music. When he sent us a spot on proposal after hearing our ramblings, we couldn’t have signed the dotted line faster. He took our jumbled pandemic thoughts and transformed them into a vision that would later become our beautiful wedding. People still talk about our wedding food. It’s been a little over a year. They always mention the sublime beef tenderloin with fresh chimichurri and how they got seconds on everything. I’d say that’s pretty amazing, but that would be an understatement. The most treasured part of the experience was that William understood what we wanted to give our guests. That’s our thing and William scaled it to all of our friends and family. He truly provided an unforgettable feast! Did I mention that it was actually the hottest day of the summer with 101% humidity and a power outage? Well, nobody noticed because William and his team are masters of their craft. Everything was crispy, fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned, and he even got my wife and I to sit down and eat our dinner. A true feat. The bar service, cocktail hour, and buffet were everything we could have wished for. William did so much more and I will let him share the rest. Give William a call and see what he can do for you. My wife and I count ourselves very lucky to have had him be part of our wedding.

We used WFC for our wedding catering, and we are so glad we did! William was wonderful to work with. We did a tasting where he cooked the full wedding spread for myself, my husband, and my parents at our apartment. It was such a fun evening - the food was amazing, but even more special was interacting with William and his generosity in explaining cooking tips along with telling us his story and just being such a fun guest/host(?). During the planning, he was both helpful and reassuring. He took our general themes (England and Thailand) and helped incorporate them into a buffet menu that would meet our budget. We had grilled salmon, tenderloin with chimichurri, grilled veggies, mashed potatoes, and a papaya salad. For dessert we had English sticky toffee pudding and chocolate mousse. AND lets not forget the h'ordeuvres: Braised Shortrib Taco in Miniature Wonton Shell, Caprese Skewer, Blackened Beef Tenderloin on Crostini, Thai Vegetable Spring Roll, and charcuterie. The mini tacos were a huge hit and everyone raved about the food. So, you can definitely expect delicious food with WFC. However, even more so you can expect a special experience. William’s team went above and beyond to make the day special. Raphael (server extraordinaire) made sure that my husband and I did not miss any of the h’ordeuvres and was checking in on us unobtrusively the entire cocktail hour. Despite not paying for a champagne toast with our separate bar service, William made sure my husband and I received a glass each after we sat down for dinner and came out to say hello. I cannot thank William and his team enough or recommend them highly enough for a wonderful event!

William and his team catered our ~120 person wedding and did an amazing job. Our guests raved about the food, including multiple people saying that it was the best wedding food they have had. On top of the GREAT food, William and his team were extremely attentive and provided excellent service both leading up to and during the wedding. 10/10 would recommend!!

I wish I could put 10 stars on this review! William was the caterer for my husband Nick and I’s 150-person wedding at a private family residence in Chatham, Mass, and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his wonderful team. He helped organize all the rentals, bar service, and catering for our wedding day, and coordinated so many details with multiple other vendors. We never got to meet him in person before the wedding day or even have a tasting due to planning from afar, but on our wedding day there was not a single moment of the cocktail hour and reception that was not perfection. From the moment Nick and I stepped foot into our cocktail hour, Shamus from the William Ference team immediately made sure we had one of every appetizer and our drink of choice in hand. The Spicy Yellowfin Tuna Tacos, Blackened Beef Tenderloin on Crostini, Watermelon Bites, and Grilled Cheese bites were all an absolute hit! The raw bar was also incredible and gave our guests the true Cape Cod experience. William and Shamus, along with other servers, ensured that Nick and I and both of our parents (and nana!) were taken care of every second of the evening. We chose to do a plated dinner at the reception, and food was delivered to our guests seamlessly and in a timely manner. Our guests had the choice of Chatham Cod, Herb Grilled Chicken, or a Ratatouille Galette, all of which I tried, and all were INCREDIBLE. I still have family and friends talking about how amazing the food was nearly a month later. William and his whole staff were warm, friendly, professional, and incredibly respectful. I still am in awe of how perfectly the day went, and I certainly have William to thank for that. Nothing was rushed. Every single moment was calm, joyful and relaxed. I think we ran out of tequila at one point because our signature drinks were such a hit, but within 10 minutes we were fully restocked, and nobody missed a beat. They had a game plan for everything, and I’m really just so impressed with every last detail that William and his team knew how to take care of. If I could go back and do it all over, we would choose William again and again and again. Anyone would be lucky to have William and his team for their wedding or catered event! You won’t be disappointed!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about William and his team. From our tasting a year before our wedding I knew he and his team were the right ones for the job. In our preliminary conversations it was clear he immediately got the vibe and tone we were going for, and his first sample menu was proof of that - we barely had any adjustments when it came time to book. William fielded all of my requests with humor and ease (including my husband's demand for 'chicken nuggets' at some point in the evening), and I looked forward to our check-ins because I always left them feeling completely taken care of. Now for the day itself. William's team received us with cheer and optimism. They were professional and delightful, and guests came up to me all night raving about the food (a dear friend requested that she be 'buried in that heirloom tomato salad') - which is a feat given the reputation of wedding food! I have to say I agreed: our appetizers were served hot and delicious, and our entrées lived up to our delicious tasting. I wish I could've snagged a doggy bag for the next day! My husband and I specifically had staff dedicated to us, and it felt so special to be taken such good care of. Tyler and Marley were fantastic and made sure I never went without a snack or a drink, no matter where I was on the grounds. I almost didn't have a chance to go up to the bar - which I'm glad I did, because I ran into the delightful bar staff who made me feel so special. They shared our joy and energy and were a delight to have handle our evening. Hiring William Ference Catering for your wedding is probably the best wedding decision you could make, and I can't recommend the staff more.

Booking William was the best decision we made for our wedding! The food was one of, if not the most, important elements of our wedding from the start. We wanted food that looked beautiful, tasted great, and really made sense for our venue/location/season. William delivered gorgeous, tasty food that our guests have not stopped raving about. His team's service was also incredible, adding more than expected to the day. Our venue was very do-it-yourself, and having William to help with rentals, bar and a bunch of other details made our lives so much easier. He is very communicative throughout the entire process, and just a wonderful person to work with. Couldn't recommend him more!

Our families would like to take a moment and commend this remarkable talent, William Ference. Outsourcing a quality caterer was no easy task during our wedding planning. We chose a venue that was pretty much "a la carte" / a "do it yourself" wedding. We are Italian and food is everything to us!! From the minute we met with William, we knew he was eager to please, razor sharp, knowledgable, PATIENT lol, trustworthy & super accommodating. We set out to have our wedding on the day of the Kentucky Derby so of course we needed to integrate a particular Italian / Southern inspired food theme. William was simply OUTSTANDING. He was able to execute a cocktail hour with 9 appetizers, a three course dinner & dessert for over 200 people, outside in his own portable kitchen where all food was prepped and cooked on site. It was carried out to perfection. I've actually never seen anything like it in my life. Our tasting was also super enjoyable. We got to know William on a bit more of a personal note and he is certainly professional and quite funny! I'd like to also give a shout out to his "A-List" catering & bartending staff. They had personalities and guest awareness as if they came from a Disney trained property. They genuinely wanted to be there & please their guests. To all of you folks at William Ference catering, you certainly made the most memorable day in our family. We appreciate each & every one of you! :)

We highly recommend William Ference Catering! William catered our 50-person wedding at a family home in October 2021. Everything William and his staff touched was magic. William helped us design a highly personalized menu -- a far cry from the typical wedding plated meal. William's team did an amazing job and the food was incredible. We had the ceremony under a tent because it was raining, and the event captain probably re-did the seating for the ceremony three or four times as we went back and forth about the best way to set it up. After the ceremony, WFC staff flipped the tent for cocktail hour in record time. Many of our guests complimented the staff on the high quality service and told us how much they loved the food. I still dream about the tuna tacos, dumplings, and braised short ribs. It felt like a cozy, family meal, which is exactly the atmosphere we wanted to create. If food is an important part of your wedding and you are willing to splurge, hire WFC!

I'm not really sure where to even start, because our experience with William exceeded expectations from the get go. He was one of the first caterers we spoke to, and after our conversation with him we had to force ourselves to reach out to other caterers just to feel like we were doing our "due diligence", but throughout every conversation I think we knew we would be hiring William. It's hard to express how much it felt like he cared about every detail, not even just the food. He was constantly mindful of our budget, helping to steer us away from decisions that would increase the price, but always offering options that would be no less delicious and special for us and our guests. He was so calming and knowledgable throughout the whole process which really put us at ease. Our venue didn't come with linens, dishware, glassware, alcohol/bar, etc. so we relied on William to organize and order all of that. It really took a weight off our shoulders! The weeks leading up to the wedding we were in the height of our stress, and every time we talked to William he would assure us that all the pieces are in place and it was going to be a beautiful day. It was so great to have him in our corner and he always gave us peace of mind. In the end of course he was right and we had a beautiful day filled with love and AMAZING food. Seriously, our guests wouldn't stop raving about it. So if you want someone who cares about you, is excited for you, makes amazing food and is a pleasure to talk to and work with, hire William. You won't regret it!

We had an incredible experience with William. We started talking to him about a year before our wedding day, and the communication and creativity regarding our wedding menu was top notch. After participating in a private tasting with William as our personal chef, it was clear that not only the food was high quality, but William's warmth and professionalism made it all the more special for us and our family. What more to say than 120 people at our wedding who were all raving about the food. William and his crew knocked it out of the park. We can't wait to host another big dinner party so we can hire him again.

William is an absolute professional! We hired him for our wedding with about 70 guests. The food and service were amazing. Our guests are still raving about the food. Everything was beautifully done and absolutely delicious. Besides that, he helped us in so many other ways, not just with the menu but with thinking through the timing of events and all the little details that might not have occurred to us. We can assure you that if you go with William you'll be in very good hands!

William was hands down one of our favorite vendors to work with for our summer wedding! From his easy going personality to creating the most delicious dishes for ourselves and our guests! William made our appetizers, salads, and our dinner dishes for our wedding this summer 6/2021 in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. Him and his team were absolutely amazing and attentive. We had guests that wanted to meet the chef because the meals were just that good. William was able to use his creativity and help us pick the most perfect variety of meal options for our summer wedding in the mountains. I could not recommend him more if you are really looking to knock your wedding meals out of the park. 10/10 recommendation. Most definitely the best in the area and couldn’t recommend him enough.

William and his team did an amazing job for both our back yard rehearsal dinner (100 people, at my childhood home) and at our wedding venue (170 people, at Pierce House, the very next night). We got to geek out together over how to put together touches of greater Mediterranean flavors based on Moona, where the groom and I had our first date, plus all the places we'd traveled. But he also kept all the family's needs in mind - our flower girl has a nut allergy, the groom is lactose intolerant - without my even thinking or asking about it, he had a butter-free version of one of the tastiest dishes delivered right to the groom on the evening of. Moreover, he is charming, professional (we're talking answering emails in less than 12 hours, even with a new baby in the house), and made everyone - moms, grandmas, out of towners - feel at ease. Every time I told another vendor we were working with William, you could actually watch them sigh in relief. I cannot say enough good things about William and his team.

My husband and I hired William to our food at our wedding. From the first time we talked to him over the phone we know we wanted him. William delivered excellence in service, his food was so good that im still getting messages from my guest, sharing how much they loved everything served at my wedding and how William's food was the best they ever had at any wedding. William is professional and reliable. My wedding was perfect! and thanks to William my guest will always remember it. We were lucky to have him.

William was responsive, supportive and helped make our vision become a reality! The food at the tasting was delicious, and given that he gave us the most reasonable quote, hiring him was a no brainer! But throughout the year leading to our wedding, he proved to be invaluable. He was flexible with all the changes related to COVID we had to make-- from cutting the wedding from 100 to 30 people, and doing some meals plated, while other meals were given family style. He made beautiful platters/plates, and was responsive to small things like adding some dessert options other than cake, and creating a welcome non-alcoholic beverage for people to sip before the ceremony. His staff was professional the day of the wedding, and everyone was attentive to ensure the dinner service and cocktail hour went on without any problems. But beyond that-- the food was actually DELICIOUS. When you cook bulk food, sometimes it can be overcooked, undercooked, or underwhelming. But William's food was absolutely delicious-- from the cocktail hour appetizers to the salad with sugared pecans to the main meal, I honestly can't say enough. From the minute we got engaged my husband and I said we wanted good food at the wedding, and William truly delivered. He was so committed to our wedding that he spoke with us for an hour going over last minute details the week before the wedding despite his wife giving birth literally the day before! Beyond that, he showed up on our wedding day despite having a newborn at home! We cannot recommend him enough-- he is professional, responsive, helpful, and above all it is truly wonderful, creative and delicious food! HIRE HIM!

Not only did William think of every last detail required, but his team, the service he provided, and the food were OUTSTANDING! The William Ference Catering Team was exceptional and helped make the day go smoothly. William worked with us to craft a menu that was absolutely perfect. Hiring William and his team for our wedding day was the best decision we could have made! I spoke to numerous caterers in the planning process, but no one took the time to get to know me and my fiance like William did. He goes the extra mile in friendliness, kindness, and generosity. In terms of customer service, he is simply unparalleled! And that doesn't even take into account the INSANELY GOOD food and service on the actual wedding day! William and his team took care of every detail with professionalism and smiles all day long. They went above and beyond by setting up decorations and centerpieces for the reception in addition to all the cooking and set up for food. Which, by the way, we got compliments about all night long. He created a menu that accommodated my stringent food restrictions while at the same time impressed all of our guests. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about William Ference - do yourself a favor and hire him for your special day!

HIRE WILLIAM! William hands down saved our entire wedding! My husband and I initially hired a different caterer in November 2020 for our wedding in June 2021, and that caterer was unresponsive, overwhelmed, and ultimately backed out of our wedding 2 months before our date! We were in a major lurch when we learned about William Ference Catering but William was friendly and upbeat on the phone and understood our vision right away. He prioritized doing a tasting for us with short notice and came to our house to essentially give us a private chef dinner for us and a couple friends. The food at the tasting was extraordinary and we hired him to cater the wedding shortly thereafter. Leading up to the wedding William was responsive and positive (a real change from our first caterer) and on the wedding day the food was the exact same incredible quality that we had during the tasting! (We highly recommend the lobster rolls, blackened beef tenderloin on crostini, the Mahi Mahi tacos, and short rib entree!) Our guests were RAVING throughout the night. One of our close friends is a chef and he said "I was expecting typical wedding food, but this food is incredible!" Additionally, William's staff was professional, friendly, and anticipated our every need. Our biggest hope for the wedding was that people would love and remember the food, and William made that happen for us. Hiring William was the best choice we made for our wedding and we'd hire him again in a heartbeat!

WOW. William wowed us right from the beginning when we started discussing our menu. He did a tasting at our house and within 15 minutes, we were already discussing the other events we could hire him for. His food is absolutely amazing and he asked us for feedback after each dish, making it feel like a really collaborative experience. Before we started the tasting, William walked us through the dishes and how he was preparing everything. After the tasting, he sat down with us and we learned about his background and he got to know us and our family. We are a family of wine lovers and William helped us pair each course with a wine. Heading into the wedding we were so excited for all of the food that we had tried at the tasting and everything else that we hadn't, but the food wasn't even the best part. William's staff was UNBELIEVABLE. All of our guests were enjoying cocktail hour when my husband and I walked in. Before we made it to greet our guests, one of his servers was taking our drink order and another was bringing us fresh, warm lobster rolls. Throughout the rest of the night someone always made sure we had what we needed, which went so far beyond our expectations. I would recommend William to all of my friends and family, and we're already so excited to have him come back for our holiday party later this year.

Our 5/7/21 wedding (originally scheduled for 4/25/20) would not have run as smoothly, or been as memorable if we hadn’t of hired William Ference Catering! They stuck with us through our original planning process, through us changing our date several times, and the overall unexpectedness of what the pandemic was bringing everyone’s way, and we cannot be more thankful. When we first booked a venue that did not have catering on site, we did a lot of research on different catering companies. Many were unresponsive and impersonal, but we had the opposite experience with William. William, the owner of the company, is the one you would do all of the planning and communication with, which felt very nice to us because we felt confident all of our expectations would be met, and they were met and exceeded! William is willing to design any kind of menu with you that you would like. We knew we wanted something a little more creative and unique than typical wedding food. We told William we wanted a spring wedding menu with bbq flair, and that is what we got! One of our appetizers was a mini chicken and waffle slider, and our guests went crazy over it! We also had a mini taco, watermelon bite, and scallop wrapped in bacon in addition to cheese and fruit plates. It was the perfect mix and traditional and modern! For dinner, once again William and his team knocked it out of the park with different kinds of salads, entrees, and sides for our guests to enjoy. The pulled pork shoulder, chicken thighs, and Mac and cheese were the highlights, we saw many people going up for seconds! In addition to spectacular food, William and his team will also be able to take care of the bar service for you. They are flexible in terms of how much or how little alcohol you want served. We requested an open bar; all we had to do was tell William what kind of alcohol we wanted and he took care of ordering and returning bottles. We chose to have three signature drinks as well, which William’s team made beautifully! If the amazing food and drinks weren’t enough, Williams team also supported us with some of the decorating and overall coordination of the day! This helped ensure even more that things would run smoothly, which they did! William was always readily available by text, call, or email in the months, weeks, days, and hours leading up to the event. He was always extremely kind and supportive with any question or concern we had! We cannot emphasize enough how much we would recommend booking William and his team for your event! They are all extremely kind, hardworking, and will execute your event to perfection! We hope to work with William Ference Catering again in the future!

It’s hard to even put into words how amazing William and his team truly are. The food, the staff, the service, everything was FAR more than 5 stars. Originally my (now) husband and I had been planning a wedding down the cape for this past September for almost a year and a half when this pandemic hit. We decided it was super important to us to get married in 2020 even with all of these restrictions. We enlisted the help of a wedding planner and she instantly referred William to us. At this point we only had about 2 months to throw together our backyard reception. His initial email with us was so helpful and his ideas sounded amazing right off of the bat. Within just two emails he curated us the absolute perfect menu. We ended up having a tasting with our parents, William came and cooked for us in my parent’s kitchen (the venue). He was SO warm and friendly. He first made us all of our hors d’oeuvres, which not only looked EXACTLY like his images on his social media but tasted even better. The salad and entree were exactly the same, even better than we could’ve expected!! I have to especially touch on the salad, it was Watermelon & Feta with Mint and Lime Vinaigrette, Toasted Pistachio, and Arugula that we all have been craving since. Since 2020 is such a weird year we decided to do something very unconventional, we actually had a 2-day wedding! Both days we had William and his team and no matter how exhausted they probably were considering they seriously busted their asses for a VERY long day, you would have never known. Some of the most genuine people who made our day even more special. Williams servers could not have been more amazing if they tried. SO friendly, SO helpful, and were all especially super vigilant with sanitation. Every single person at the wedding(s) RAVED about the service. Due to Covid regulations hors d’oeuvres were passed out on single plates per guest and were constantly being passed out - no one went hungry once. Our entrees were brought out hot and quick and if anyone ever had an empty drink the servers came instantly. I felt waited on hand and foot but more than anything the staff was SO KIND, every single one of them. By the end of the second day, I was basically professing my love to each team member. Now onto the meal!! Wow, I can’t even put into words how amazing the food was. One would assume the food would be better during the tasting since it’s calmer but somehow the food was BETTER during the two days. Our first day was more traditional, since it was our actual wedding day, but still fun and different. Then day 2 we really wanted to get creative. We told William that and he somehow made us the perfect whimsical and fun but still filling and delicious menu (I swear he can read minds). We have never tasted food so perfectly executed and my husband and I definitely consider ourselves foodies. I have never witnessed a better team of people, not only talented but kind and very special. You cannot help but fall in love with William, his team and the food!! They solidified our absolute DREAM wedding, and we were SO lucky to have them!

In certain ways I have found it difficult to write a review for the catering of our wedding at The Endicott Estate. The reason being that William is so phenomenal, and his food so fantastic that my brain overloaded with possible praises when trying to write something even remotely concise. First, the food: In a word, delicious. But not just delicious in the way you want all food to taste, but the dishes also had a refinement, and that little extra twist that elevates it to beyond just a meal. Additionally, it takes a certain kind of brilliance to take an ingredient you do not particularly like, do something that you would never have considered in a million years and then turn it into one of the most amazing dishes you’ve ever tasted. For example, William didn’t just make us an amazing green bean dish with preserved lemons, he redefined for us the proper way to cook an item. Just imagine what he can do with your favorite ingredients. Second, his service: William worked with us easily and genuinely on budget to get where we wanted to go without sacrificing quality. Both he, and his crew were outstanding. Our venue was an estate house (max capacity 150) with no proper great room to facilitate food service but he worked with the environment seamlessly. The experience of them catering our wedding was the opposite of the old line about cops never being there when you need them but present to give you a ticket: William was never in the way except in the moment you needed him. Another reviewer once noted they believed William would have mowed the lawn if asked. I believe he would too. Finally, William himself: It’s one thing to hire someone who provides good service. It’s another thing to get a vendor you appreciate so much you’re sad when it’s over because you no longer get to interact with him. The initial evaluative phone call with William was 45 minutes because we just got along that well, engaging in a natural flowing conversation that dipped into and out of direct relation to the catering itself. This made for an incredibly comfortable relationship. I could go on forever but simply put, call William and cross your fingers he’s available for your wedding date. You could have your reception at The French Laundry for all I care, you should still hire William for the food.

We hired William Ference for our last minute backyard wedding on August 1 2020. He was referred to us by a friend. William took care of literally, EVERYTHING that we needed for our bar services. He was so kind and accommodating and assured us that we would not have to worry about a thing- and he was right! He set up for a stunning white bar, glassware, and all the ice and beverages we could dream of to delivered to our home the morning of our wedding. Our one request was to have an endless supply of bud lites- And he made it happen! Our bartenders Kaya and Dylan were PHENOMENAL. They were the perfect mix of professional and cool and made our guests feel welcomed and well cared for. Not to mention their amazing bar tending skills! We had already hired a caterer for food services before finding William, but we will definitely be trying out his catering services in the future! We are so grateful to William and his team. On August 8th, we celebrated our daughters wedding in an intimate affair in Charlestown RI. which was not our plan A because of the Covid situation. Originally we had planned for 125 people , but we were forced to reduce that number to 25 per order of the Rhode Island Governor. We needed a caterer/ Private chef to help create as best a wedding experience as we could. Our Wedding Planner suggested William Ference for our backyard celebration. We booked his services in June and it was the best decision we could have made. The passed hors d’oeuvres were: A miniature lobster roll which was the best lobster roll I’ve ever eaten, blackened beef tenderloin on Crostini, fabulous!, mac & cheese bites ...who doesn’t love mac & cheese, right? As well as a cheese and berry board, served individually to each of us, consisting of crackers,olives,fresh figs,apricots, grapes and candied nuts. The servers were keeping everything safe by wearing masks and gloves when they served us. Next we were seated and served either a Caesar salad or heirloom tomato and Burrata salad. The Burrata cheese was super creamy and delicious...one of the best I ever had. Our entree choices were between a grilled filet mignon or a dill and shallot Atlantic salmon. I chose the filet. Well let me tell you that many of the guests,my husband and myself included, have eaten at some of the best steak restaurants in Boston and this filet was rated right up there with the best. I joked that when all my teeth fall out in my old age, I could eat this filet no problem. There were rave reviews about the salmon too. All in all, The Plan B wedding was saved by the William Ference Catering Company. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this team. I felt like we were dining at a 5 star restaurant but we were actually seated under a tent, in a backyard, at the beach.. Miracles can happen and William Ference made it so.

If I could give six stars, I would. I will do my best to break down the many ways in which we were thrilled to work with William: - Took the time to speak with us on the phone and in person. He got to know us, got to know what we wanted and did not want, and was entirely flexible. Wonderful. - My mother has a number of dietary restrictions that became glaringly obvious closer to the wedding. William worked with us to create a helpful solution for her table that did not alter the entire menu nor disrupt our budget. - His team was incredible, and I was so appreciative for everything they pitched in to help with day-of. He coordinated our bartenders, and of course, serving staff. At the end of the night they helped us pack up my centerpieces, which they certainly didn't have to do but I was so entirely grateful to have help for. It was finished before I could even start worrying about it! I got compliments from my guests about how lovely the staff were. - He made sure that we ate during our photos by having a staff member dedicated to bringing us food during our photos. - Guests raved about our salmon dish! - William took over in the last few weeks to make sure small tables were positioned where they needed to be, made small alterations to our tables/chairs orders within our budget to make sure comfortable spaces were properly arranged for our guests given the layout of our venue. He didn't mention it -- he just took care of it! I was very, very grateful. Again, William is the best. He has such a hands-on approach, and truly cares about the work that he does. It was refreshing after speaking to so many large companies and feeling like we would simply be put through the motions with different packages and set rates etc. Very impersonal elsewhere, very helpful and personal with William. Can't recommend enough!

e found the perfect catering company in William and his team. We talked and received quotes from various other vendors and their process seemed boring, cold, and unwelcoming. They didn't take the time to understand who we were and what we were looking to accomplish for our wedding. William was the complete opposite. He spoke with us, got to know us, and even came to our house and cooked for us! He was completely flexible to what my now wife and I wanted for our wedding. He incorporated our love of Chinese food (crab rangoons!) into the apps and recommended great complimentary dishes that tasted absolutely amazing. Besides being a phenomenal chef, he helped us understand the best way to operationally serve our guests where we got married (a barn that my wife's family owns) and made sure that whatever steps he and his team were making were lockstep with what we wanted. His focus on detail was tremendous and the day of our wedding we had nothing to worry about because we know William and his team had it covered. He crafted custom cocktails for my wife and I right after we exchanged our vows but he and his team also made food to go for all the hungry/intoxicated guests when the night was over. Every guest praised the food but they were also raving about the service. The ability of his team to go above and beyond for certain requests and putting our wedding and guests above all else is something my wife and I will be forever grateful for. I couldn't imagine having someone else try to replicate what William and his team did!

William and his amazing team catered our 230 person wedding at our family’s barn. They took a property with no real kitchen or facilities and turned it into something spectacular! We had looked at several other caterers before our wedding planner introduced us to William and his team, but after our first phone call we knew right away that we wanted to go with them. William is warm and inviting which shines through right away; he makes what could be stressful decisions easy and fun. They all take pride in their craft and they put so much effort into making our "vision" come to life. For example, we have an old wheelbarrow that was my late uncle's and he found a way to incorporate it. We also told him how crab rangoons were something we both loved and part of our story and not only was he able to make them for our cocktail hour, they served them in Chinese takeout boxes! Our guests loved it. They were open to any idea we threw out and helped bring it to life in a cool way. The food was delicious and our guests raved about it after the wedding. I’ve heard couples don’t typically get to eat at their wedding but we sat down and ate every bite (and I was wearing a tight dress)! Not only was William professional, kind and talented...but his entire team held the same great qualities. The minute I arrived at the barn before walking down the aisle, there was someone there, with a big smile, asking if I needed anything. Throughout the whole night, there was always someone there making sure we were happy. They were detail oriented which is essential when running such a big event in essentially the middle of nowhere, but what stood out to us even more than that is that they were all incredibly warm and friendly. We are pretty laid back and just wanted everyone to have a good time, and they were a perfect addition. We are forever grateful that we found William and his team!!

Wow. I can’t say enough enough good things about William and his team. I had no idea what to expect the day of and was pleasantly surprised by what played out. William and his team were like a well oiled machine. They were warm and friendly and incredibly easy to work with. The food was excellent and our guests are still talking about the food more than anything else. Not only did William provide elegant and delicious food, his team helped me decorate and transform our ceremony space into our reception space in a matter of minutes. Would definitely recommend without reservation!

William and his team catered our daughter’s wedding in mid-September in Chatham, MA. There were 140 guests at the outdoor wedding held at a private waterfront estate. As it was a private home, facilities were limited. William made an advance site visit and seamlessly arranged with our planner for the needed infrastructure. From our first meeting, throughout the planning, and on the day of the event, William listened, guided, and executed flawlessly. He accommodated special requests with grace, building upon our wishes, to provide an elegant experience with an effortless feel, in perfect keeping with the ambiance of the day. The food and service were impeccable and amazing! Every single guest we have seen since the wedding has specifically raved about the food. William’s staff was incredible – professional, kind, efficient, and excellent in every way. Everything was done so beautifully, without us having to worry about a single thing except enjoying the special day. We are so grateful to have had William and his team make our daughter and son-in-law’s day everything they hoped it would be!

We were lucky enough to have William and his team cater our recent wedding, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! William was a pleasure to work with and made everything so easy even though my husband and I were planning our wedding from overseas. His staff were absolutely amazing, so professional, polite and attentive. And the food - incredible! Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious everything was, the food was certainly the highlight of the wedding. A huge thank you to William and his team, we couldn't be happier with how everything went!

William and his staff were amazing!! The food was fantastic, as were the cocktails. We had a summer Tuscan style menu and everything was delicious and William was able to make accomodations based on guests' dietary restrictions. William was also able to answer all of my questions and navigate all the steps even with my pre-wedding anxiety. Each step felt like it ran with ease and everyone was friendly, fast, and so on top of things. I really can't recommend William enough!

Hire William and you won't be disappointed! We used him as our caterer for our wedding and his team made the day perfect. The prep with him beforehand, the professionalism of his team the day of, the set up of everything and handling all the details - it was just perfection and we could not be happier. We are SO thrilled with his team's performance and Eliza crushed it as the event manager, his bartender was beyond friendly and accommodating, and everything was set up just as discussed. THANK YOU are not big enough words to encompass how much we appreciate him going above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs. He respected our budget, made the process so smooth, is incredibly responsive and communicates clearly so we felt so confident going into the day.

William and his team are rockstars on event days! As a fellow wedding vendor, they are great! The food is amazing and creative, the service great at the event and leading up to the day! I highly recommend them to any couple!

If you're going to splurge on one vendor, make it your caterer. And make sure your caterer is William Ference. You might not realize it, but a great caterer like William is basically a wedding planner: he'll help you figure out timing, transitions, table and servingware rentals, and other details you never thought of. On the day of, he and his staff are stage managers, keeping the roller coaster ride on track. They worked closely with our band to make sure everyone was on the same page throughout the day. The food was exquisite; my guests couldn't say enough good things about it. The servers took such good care of us - every time I returned to my table, my water glass was full (don't get dehydrated on your big day!), and our family-style meal came out in a flash, servers speed-walking as a group to each table in turn. William's team is solid, experienced, and (bonus!) fun. I would definitely hire William Ference again.

William is the best! From the very beginning before we even booked, through the wedding he was always quick to respond, with helpful, thoughtful answers. William remained enthusiastic and made us feel like he was just as excited for our wedding as we were. He helped us design a menu specific to us: accommodating serious allergies, providing Greek dips and appetizers, special plates for the bride and groom, A COOKIE BAR; and we couldn't be happier with the results. William was not only helpful with all things food, but he also provided valuable recommendations to help with the flow of the evening, including handling our tableware, glassware, silverware, and linen rentals. After our tasting we had no hesitation in booking William! The tasting also kept us excited every time we told people about the menu - and we got nothing but compliments on the food! William also had an incredible staff, who looked out for not only the bride and the groom, but the guests with allergies. They were friendly, positive, and reflected William's excellence!

My husband and I are big time foodies and choosing the right caterer was one of the most important parts of planning for us. William is one of the BEST caterers and professionals in the business. Working with him and his team is a dream. BEST wedding dinner ever. William came to our house for a food tasting and we were hooked. All of the appetizers and both of our dinner selections were incredible. William is very personable and understands the financial costs of a wedding. He will make suggestions as he sees fit and do anything within his power to help you stay on budget. Our guests raved about the food and even had fun with William's staff. We will recommend William and his team to anyone looking to cater an event.

Where to begin? William's plating and dishes were exquisite and delicious. His waitstaff were professional and on point at all times. They even sat with our young son to make sure he ate his food so we could get up and dance. There wasn't a better fit for our wedding when it came to catering. William and his team delivered a truly wonderful dining experience and we would recommend his services for any event.

I don't think I could possibly write a good enough review for William and his team. He was the nicest, most accommodating person I think I have ever had the pleasure to work with. William really listened to me and made sure he got a true understanding of what my vision and needs were. He and his team went well above and beyond in their duties. Not only did they make the most incredible food (guests could not stop talking about how incredible it was and that it was the BEST meal they have ever had at a wedding), but they assisted with all the details for set up. I was treated like a princess all day ~ they all went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. They were all as friendly as William. The day was perfect and it has a lot to do with William Ference Catering.

Choosing William Ference catering for our wedding was the best decision we ever made. We got SO many compliments from the appetizers to the main meals. I’ve always been under the impression that food doesn’t really taste the best at weddings and William completely proved me wrong. The meals and appetizers were exotic yet simple and delicious. William himself was absolutely the most help we’ve gotten from a vendor. He took care of everything my husband and I were worried about and really made the whole process seamless and easy! He worked very well with all our other vendors and is loved so much by our venue coordinators. Not to mention, again, the food was AMAZING. Williams staff were so great in making sure my husband and I had everything we needed, so nice and helpful. I would chose William again in a heartbeat if we have another large event!

William and his crew did a fantastic job at our wedding and the food was absolutely delicious! William was attentive, flexible, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process- from the first phone call to the actual event. He made sure he was available at all times for us, offered to help us plan the day of the wedding, and also helped us navigate all of the typical wedding expenses and scheduling. He helped us pick the best foods (beef, chicken and vegetarian), attend to our guests that were gluten free, and organize our wedding bar. His staff was just the best on the wedding day and were ultra-attentive to our guests and us. We had two signature cocktails (old fashioned and French 75), so William helped us with our liquor order to save us cost while still having great drinks. Everyone at our wedding had a great time. Highly recommend!!

From the first phone call we felt as if we were the only event William had on his schedule. He is the perfect blend of personable and professional and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Our in-home tasting gave us the opportunity to really get to know each other, and that made the rest of the planning feel like working with a friend. William's experience in the industry allows him to give thoughtful suggestions and his creativity and flexibility ensured that the food and environment were truly "us". We are a month out from the wedding and our guests are still telling us that it was the most delicious wedding dinner they've ever had and that the staff were as fun as they were professional. William is the real deal and worth every penny and more - he was a central reason of why our wedding day was truly perfect.

William Ference Catering catered our wedding and did a truly outstanding job. The food was top notch and the prices were fair. Everyone at our wedding kept coming up to me and telling me how delicious everything was. William went above and beyond every step of the way. He was always available whenever we needed to ask a question or had any concerns before the wedding. In addition to the wonderful food William had some of the best catering staff that I have ever seen. I have worked in food service on and off for years and know how hit or miss people can be. His team out performed anything that I had ever seen. When we arrived to the venue in the trolley that we had rented, I was greeted by one of his guys that immediately ran up and asked what he could help me with. I was very impressed and certainly needed the help. The team would constantly be aware when drinks were getting low and would immediately ask if anyone needed a refresher. Nobody really ever had to wait in line for a drink and the tram did a great job keeping everything stocked and clean. I would highly recommend William Ference Catering for any event and especially if you’re getting married, you WON’T be disappointed.

William and his team were exceptional. The food was delicious, even when scaled up to serve 150 people (always gotta wonder how the amazing meal for two at the tasting will scale...just as excellent in this case!). They were thoughtful and attentive to details (details I wasn't even thinking or worried about). William worked with me to find something that was within our budget AND fit our tastes. The food was definitely our splurge item for the wedding as we both love good food but we definitely splurged on the right caterer. Don't plan on ever planning a wedding again, but if I did, would definitely hire again!

William and his team catered our wedding for 150 people at my parent’s farm in September 2017 and they were all incredible! He was so easy to work with and helped prepare an AMAZING meal while still working within our budget. He truly went above and beyond to make our wedding special and was even able to showcase my husband’s Greek and Chinese heritage in the menu! Even more impressive, William was extra careful with my husband’s severe nut allergy. Most of the caterers that we spoke with seemed to not take the food allergy seriously, but this was not the case with William. He was incredibly attentive throughout the planning process and made sure my husband would be able to enjoy dinner on his wedding day. All in all, we could not have hired a better person to cater our wedding reception. We received so many compliments on how incredible the food was and the service of his staff was just as amazing. We HIGHLY recommend William and his team!

Truly first rate. William was a complete pro from the moment we first contacted him right through the conclusion of the wedding. He was responsive to our wishes, and prepared a phenomenal menu that was better than we could have imagined. During the pre-wedding process, William was in touch with us, tweaking the menu until both he and we were completely happy with it. On wedding day, he was really amazing. Unflappable even when confronted with the inevitable wedding day challenges, he was the calmest person on site the entire day. His entire staff was AMAZING. The cooks were phenomenal, the wait staff both looked great and performed perfectly, and the bartenders made you want to buy them a drink. We can unreservedly recommend William and his company for anyone looking for a great caterer for your wedding (or any event).
