Guests commented on how lovely the green foliage was, along with the birdsong they could hear in the trees. The bridal suite is clean, polished, and the perfect getting-ready space. The William Penn team was also fabulous to work with. We love Darlene!!! Her experience was reassuring — and it showed on the day-of. Our wedding was seamless. The food was amazing! As were the wedding cake and assorted desserts. Our guests had lots of compliments. EDIBLE, and I absolutely loved how they decorated the reception space for us. They made sure to bring us a drink and an array of appetizers after photos but before our introductions, while we were tucked away in the bridal suite. We were pulled outside for photos during dinner, and they kept our food covered and warm until we returned. We presented photos of exactly what we wanted, down to the ombre design on our wedding cake, and they delivered immaculately! 10/10 recommend!

20 and with the pandemic we decided to postpone. WPI was on board with the date change and completely understanding. Darlene was great to work with throughout the planning process and the crazy questions I threw at her. She even helped me through some troubleshooting with other vendors when we postponed. The day of went really well and Darlene was there bright and early with us all the way through to cleaning the bridal suite during the ceremony. Her and Ally were truly amazing and are the best at making couples feel like guests at their own wedding. All of our guests were wowed by the whole evening from the food to the service that was provided. Everyone had an amazing time!Thank you thank you thank you all!

athy was fantastic to work with during planning and was so easy to communicate with. Day of, we worked with Karen, who made sure my husband and I were taken care of the whole night. Our wedding day seemed to run flawlessly from our end. We did not need to set up or take down anything. Everything was taken care of by the WPI. We brought our own champagne glasses and cake knife, which were engraved with our names and the WPI made sure to clean them and have them ready for us to take at the end of the night. The food was AMAZING! We have received so many compliments about the food! Overall, the day was a dream and we could not be happier with our experience at the William Penn Inn!

Kate went above and beyond what her job description requires, even meeting me at my venue to survey the space to better put together a plan and quote for our wedding. We met again in person a month before the wedding, where Kate showed me samples of what my flowers would look like, including a bouquet, centerpieces and decor. I was truly blown away by the time and effort she put in before our wedding even happened to make sure the day itself would be beautiful.  I was also impressed by the William Penn Inn Flower Shoppe's competitive pricing -- I did a lot of florist research before choosing Kate and her team, and while of course, their talent won me over, price played a big role too. I found the prices to be extremely fair, and Kate was happy to work within our set budget. When the pandemic changed our wedding plans, Kate jumped into action to create a smaller package that still helped bring my vision for the day to life. The day of the wedding Kate's team assembled our floral arch, greenery and candles flawlessly. My bouquet was beautiful, as were the flowers for other members of the bridal party. We can't wait to work with Kate and the William Penn Inn Flower Shoppe team again next year for our vow renewal and reception.

process. What’s great about them is they have their own catering (with delicious food), bake shop, florist, and take care of your every need! I live out of state, and it was such a relief to know that things were being handled well. Special shoutout to Kate, their in-house Florist, for being incredible, supportive (not just with flowers) and bringing exactly what I want to reality. I really recommend them for your upcoming wedding. The Carriage ballroom is beautiful with the big chandelier. We love them!!

The rest of our experience was subpar, at best. Our tasting was a nightmare. I think we may have fallen through the cracks because we started with one coordinator who moved onto a new position, so we were assigned a new coordinator half way through planning. I never would have blinked an eye at the transition, except our new coordinator just never seemed to be on the same page as us. Our contract was sent to us 4 times, as we worked out the kinks- all 4 times I asked for Chardonnay to be changed to Pinot Grigio for the passing of wine during dinner. Each time I was reassured it was changed. I sat down at our head table to be presented with Chardonnay. We were discouraged multiple times to have an additional bar, even after explaining our 250 guest list & how much they love a good ol’ open bar. They closed BOTH bars for 30 minutes before the bridal party entrance, despite that never being stated in the contract. If you’re paying for a 5 hour open bar, you expect 5 hours, not 4.5 hours. I understand they were trying to urge people to sit, but they didn’t take into account how that would result in people crowding at the bar as soon as the only bar opened in the reception area? Almost seems like if we had the extra bar in the hallway like we asked for, it would have remedied the situation. My husband actually handed the bartender $100 to have him open the bar, because 5 different guests came up to us and told us the bar was closed. At the end of the night my father’s girl friend asked for cake to be wrapped up, (she wanted to make sure we had cake to freeze for our 1 year anniversary) and she was told no. “We don’t do that.” Thankfully, once my dad asked they provided him with the cake. Amazing what pull you have when you’re recognized as one of the people contributing to the bill. Most of all, I find it to be mind boggling that you work with a coordinator to plan your entire day & they aren’t present on your wedding day. Believe me, my wedding day was unforgettable & beautiful- I just wasn’t overly thrilled with the service through out the entire planning process. I felt like I was constantly being blown off. After reading all of the other reviews, I think I may have fallen through the cracks, but when it’s your wedding day & you’re spending the money you are, there shouldn’t be a crack to fall through.

made up a list of places to visit and as soon as I saw the winter decor at the William Penn Inn, I knew I HAD to get married there. It was easily the best decision we made because all of our guests are still talking about how beautiful and different the venue was. Cathy was our point of contact and was so responsive to my millions of emails. She had great suggestions for us. Kate in the floral department has such an infectious personality that made us excited about the flowers and decor for the day of. Liz was our day of coordinator and she was amazing. We were on time for our timeline the whole night -- it was amazing! As soon as we got there, we never had to worry about anything, which was the most amazing part of the whole night. We ended our wedding with the Philadelphia station and to say that was a hit is an understatement! Thank you to everyone at the William Penn Inn for making our wedding a truly remarkable night!

The venue is beautiful, food is incredible and the staff truly understands how special this day is for the bride and groom. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

y first visit I only could see the garden due to events going on, but I still knew this was the place. A few days later my fiance and mother loved William Penn Inn as much as I did. Everything was so reasonable, they definitely worked with our budget which was another selling point for us ontop of the venues beauty. Now the staff!!! Darlene joined the team mid planning for my wedding and she is absolutely amazing. She always had a prompt response from my emails and handled my overly organized planning with a smile, no matter how neurotic I got. Rehearsal night Sue was awesome, guided everyone and gave the directions. Day of the wedding while everyone was taking their seats in the garden Sue showed me our reception room and everything was perfect! The wait staff was so friendly, the day of the wedding they all made sure that my groom and myself were fed and had drinks in our hands. The food was amazing. My husband and I are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary every year. We cannot say enough great things about William Penn Inn. Seriously as you start your planning process go check it out, you wont regret it, I promise you!!!

was so helpful and so easy to work with (particular thanks and kudos to Cathy, Darlene and Caryn, as well as Kate in the WPI Flower Shop), even when our guest numbers changed at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. I will never forget how perfect everything was. They made everything so easy for us, including letting us drop off our extras (ceremony sign, signature drink sign, sweetheart table decorations, etc.) early and then setting everything up for else. Plus, having the flower shop, bakery and restaurant in house was so convenient. I had the most beautiful flowers and cake, not to mention how delicious our cake and dinner was! I am getting hungry again just thinking about my crab cakes, wedding cake, and those caprese skewers at the cocktail hour. Plus, my guests LOVED the mac & cheese bar and crepe stand that we decided to get as add-ons. We could not have asked for a better night nor better weather. Of course, the William Penn Inn doesn't control the weather but they might as well have given how well everything all fit together. Thank you!!

grateful! Our wedding day at the William Penn Inn was absolutely perfect, down to the smallest detail! We first met with Caryn when we got engaged and she did a wonderful job explaining the package and walking us through everything that was included. Our food tasting was probably our favorite part of the wedding planning process! The food was absolutely amazing. Cathy and Darlene were great in answering all of our questions during the entire wedding process. Kate did an absolutely amazing job with all of the flowers! All of the bridal bouquets and boutineers arrived at the house even earlier than we requested which immediately put us at ease. The bouquets and all of the centerpieces were absolutely breathtaking and were exactly what we envisioned! The bouquets looked stunning against the royal blue bridesmaid dresses and my wedding gown! We always pictured an outdoor wedding in the Penn’s Gardens and were temporarily disappointed when we chose to move it into the ballroom due to rainy weather; however, we had the opportunity to see the ballroom set up with all of the draping and flowers before the ceremony and it was absolutely perfect! The flowers and chandeliers made the room look so elegant. The bakery department did a phenomenal job on our wedding cake! It looked so beautiful and tasted amazing!!! The staff at William Penn is awesome! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating during the entire process. Our event manager, Robin, did a wonderful job at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding. She checked in with us often to make sure we had everything we needed and was just so pleasant to be around! Her staff was also wonderful. I know there was another event in the ballroom in the afternoon and it was a tight turnaround, especially since we moved the ceremony inside but they did such a great job and were so friendly and responsive to our guests. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives and we’re so happy that we chose the William Penn Inn for our venue!

We missed her dearly, especially given that there were a few hiccups that we're pretty confident would not have happened had she been there (to include our cake being a bright teal-ish color rather than the steel blue it was meant to be).
