Wind in the Willows is a wedding and event venue in Grantville, PA. Located in the heart of central Pennsylvania on a 15-acre farm, this beautiful venue sits at the base of Blue Mountain and offers stunning views, including a three acre lake on the property. It is a space of country charm and modern elegance. The stone barn is heated and air conditioned to allow for use year-round, and provides beautiful views of the well-maintained grounds. The property also has a cottage and bridal suite for the wedding party to prepare before the wedding day begins. The gorgeous outdoor scenery provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor ceremonies. Indoor ceremonies can be held at the Wedding Chapel, a mid 19th century church - renovated and temperature controlled. The chapel is also available for receptions.
Everything we do at Wind in the Willows revolves around our three core values, which guide and direct everything we do:
1. Value - Our goal is to provide our couples with as much as we possibly can in one place and with one price. We don't want our clients to feel nickle and dimed at every step in the process. Everything we offer at the venue (tables, chairs, barrels, arbors, decorations, etc.) is included with our base package pricing.
2. Flexibility - Weddings at Wind in the Willows are not cookie cutter. Each of our couples brings with them a unique vision for their wedding. We want to embrace and support that vision and help our couples see it come to life. We also want to make sure our couples have flexibility in the vendors they choose. We do not have exclusive vendors, so our couples are free to choose vendors that fit their style and budget. Ultimately, we know that the best way for our couples to realize their dream wedding and still stay within budget is to have the flexibility to be in control of their own destiny.
3. Family - Wind in the Willows has always been a family owned business. We want our couples and their guests to feel that when they walk through our doors. Our couples are treated as family, not transactions. It is our deep belief that creating and cultivating a family atmosphere plays a huge role in how our couples experience their special day here.

Owner
In 2000, Wind in the Willows began with a family wedding in an old hay barn. 20 years and hundreds of weddings later, much has changed, but the approach remains the same. Andrea and I have always believed in running a family business where our clients are treated as family. We are continually seeking ways to improve the experience here, with annual improvements to accommodate you, our guest. Ultimately, your wedding day is just one part of your story, but we want the role we play in that to be perfect! We look forward to meeting and working with you!

One of the biggest things that stood out to us was how affordable the venue was compared to others, without sacrificing beauty or quality. I also loved the decoration shed they offer, which saved us a lot of money and made planning so much easier.
The couple who own the venue are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Anytime I had questions during the planning process, they were quick to respond and very organized, which I truly appreciated and made everything run smoothly.

was seriously amazing and made set up and take down quick and simple. Actually, we hardly used any decorations because the vendor itself was lovely and didn't need extras! I highly suggest using the chapel for your ceremony - it is timeless and beautiful with the stained glass and wooden flooring. If you weren't considering the chapel because you want outdoor pictures, just make sure you build in time to take pictures outside! The chapel is worth it. The bridal suite fully supplied our needs. Our guests still tell us how pretty our venue was and we agree!

r imagined thanks to Aaron, Andrea and their staff. We were able to use the decor shed to help us decorate for our ceremony and reception, along with some DIY things. This was a tremendous help! They provided an online planner as well to help not only plan logistics, but also to have all your thoughts and answers to questions in one location. Aaron, Andrea and their event hosts were friendly, respectful, and kind. This venue gave us all that we wanted/dreamed of in one location; from the pond, to the willow trees, and my husband's favorite - the 1951 Ford Truck. We could not be more thankful to Wind in the Willows for being our wedding venue. We would highly recommend them for your wedding!

ecific vision in mind of how we wanted our big day to look like and WITWs checked every box. Aaron & Andrea were a blessing to work with. Always there to answer questions leading up to the big day. Lisa the host coordinator was great as well. She assisted us with pulling decorations from the decoration shed and making sure all the chairs, tables & arbor were decorated just the way we envisioned. She even chased away some bees (lol) WITWs is always improving the grounds. Since we booked two years ago they have built a speakeasy for the guys to get ready in and upgraded the landscaping with accent lighting and a fountain. They also have extras you can add on to your day. We opted to rent the old truck for our bridal party. You can also rent the chapel. They also have multiple ceremony spaces on the grounds. We were married by the water feature down by the pond.

Outdoor ceremony chairs were not set up when we arrived at 8am the day of the wedding and we were told they would not be set up until 1:30pm which was an hour before our guests wer...

We had to do it ourselves in order to get it done in time to decorate chairs, decorate the arbor, and for our videographers drone to fly at 12 noon etc. It made the groom late as well some of the groomsmen and bride’s father for their arrival time due to having to set chairs up ourselves. The boat to take pictures in on the pond had a hole in it and was water logged with a mouse running around in it so we could not take pictures in it on the water. Venue owner’s response to this was that 1-2 brides have used it in past 1 or 2 years so how was he supposed to know and brushed it off like it was no big deal when we wanted to take sunset pics on the pond in the boat and could not. Wedding day of host provided by the venue was not friendly in the least, felt like everything we asked or discussed was bothersome to her. Never met with a smile by her, her delivery was not kind. Venue owner’s kids were running around in the yard throughout the day more times than 1 to the point where we had to boot them out of our photos at least 2-3 times as they were in the background of them. On top of that, venue owner’s wife was at our cocktail hour with their kids. When discussing these issues with the venue owner, he just defended his business and his employee and dismissed our opinions/experience instead of understanding what I was saying from my point of view and empathizing. Only took accountability for 1 item. Despite these issues, the venue is beautiful, the open houses were very beneficial, and the owner was very helpful in the pre-wedding planning process.

or like the owners just did not care. By the time Andrea finished showing us around on our tour though we were ready to book with them. Not only is the property so well cared for, but everything from the lake, to the reception barn full of twinkling lights, and even the bridal suite and groom’s space were stunning. You will also not meet two nicer venue owners, you can tell Andrea and Aaron are experienced and actually care about you as a couple. Aaron always responded quickly to emails and even provided a great online planner that made it clear what we had to do on our part and got us thinking about all aspects of the wedding day. Perhaps the two best features of the venue are the red truck rental and the decor shed. I was debating renting the red truck but I’m so glad we did, Aaron drove my bridesmaids and me down to the ceremony by the lake, and after the ceremony he took the groom and I on a backroads drive which gave us a few quiet minutes away. The decor shed was a huge wallet saver, we got all of our centerpiece items out of there, as well as signage and other basic items for the reception. On the day of the wedding we had about 93 guests and the whole day went so smoothly. Many guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how everything flowed so nicely. Thanks to the affordable pricing here we were able to have the wedding of our dreams, I 1000% recommend them!

tiful ceremony by the water. This provided a short walk up to happy hour and our reception. I was impressed with how efficient Aaron and his staff work. The venue was set up exactly how we wanted it. They have an online form of communication that makes it easy on both ends to explain exactly what we wanted. They are open to who you pick for your vendors which is what we enjoyed most. The Groomsmen suite was equipped with AC, which helped us stay cool and comfortable before the wedding. The Bridal suite was even more perfect.
Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about this venue. If you have more than 150 people, I would recommend looking elsewhere just because of the size of the barn. But everything else was just tremendous. Thank you Wind in the Willows!

Also, we appreciated how the Wind in the Willows staff and the way they present and maintain their venue made our experience feel comfortable and easy throughout the planning process and wedding day. We loved that the staff made us feel like family, as family was such an important part of our wedding day. We loved that the venue has the decoration shed and the yard games because it was a huge help in not having to make/buy things or having to bring all of those extra things along to the venue on our wedding day. We appreciated the open houses and the final walkthrough as both events allowed us to better think through the planning process by actually being at the venue to talk it out, and allowed us to feel more prepared for the wedding day. We loved the vendor page on the website and the Facebook page for booked couples, as it allowed us to get good references/resources in our vendor search and helped us to book vendors that fit our budget while getting great quality! Everything about our wedding day went smoothly and all of our guests loved their experience and the venue as well!

Their wedding package includes so much that a lot of other venues do not: access to the decoration shed, earlier access to the venue than other places we looked at, wedding hosts, and the cutest little chapel and truck rental. They do not nickel and dime their couples-they truly just want their couples to enjoy their property as much as they do! Also, Aaron drove me and my bridesmaids to the chapel right before getting married and he totally helped to keep my calm right before walking down the aisle. The process was so easy with contracts, an online planner, even a catalog with photos of the decor barn made everything a breeze. The day of, staffing was everywhere making sure every last detail was addressed for us. In the end, we both would recommend this venue to everyone.

is stunning, and the space is large perfect for 100-130 people. The cocktail area downstairs is also beautiful - you can have an indoor and/or outdoor cocktail hour so the weather is not a problem. We had our ceremony in their private chapel, which was a perfect touch to our day! There are many options for the ceremony location, which allows for reassurance in the case of bad weather. The venue's price is very reasonable, including a large decor shed that you can pull from to decorate on your big day. This decor shed keeps growing with each wedding, so there is always more to choose from.
The owners, Aaron and Andrea, are a true blessing. Their communication, promptness, and professionalism are top-notch. They proved to be easily accessible and accommodating to our every need throughout the process. They are as hands-on as you would like, but always willing to provide more assistance as you need it. Overall, we had the PERFECT day here and would recommend this venue to anyone.

lly almost need no decorations. Aaron and Andrea were so helpful right from that start. They never hesitated to answer and questions we had or give ideas or recommendations. The decor she’d made it so easy for us to have almost everything there that we needed for center pieces and more. Their staff was also so helpful in helping us set some things up the day of and clean some stuff up as well. Our family and guests had so many good things to say about the beauty of the venue as well. I would recommend this venue to everyone, you will not be disappointed.
